The fact that I finished this book in two sittings speaks for itself! A masterful, respectful and thoughtful weaving of the professional and personal experiences of psychotherapist Allison Heiliczer, a true expert in her field. Her innate passion for her work is crystal clear from the very first page. Her holistic, human-centred approach, detailed in her confidential discussion of past clients' experiences, is a hugely refreshing antidote to the frequently seen symptom/medication band-aid, and is something we can all learn from.

As someone who has spent many years living in Asia myself, many of Allison's stories resonated with me hugely. Her furthering the discourse around mental health in these cultures will make great strides in de-stigmatising discussion and openness about personal struggles within historically silenced communities.

I couldn't recommend 'Rethink the Couch' more - thank you for sharing your experiences so eloquently, Allison!
