Reginald

This is the story of a cow named Reginald who lives in the jungle. (Actually, he is a bull, but no one in the jungle can tell the two apart.) Because Reginald is different, his neighbors are anything but welcoming. They include an irritable old frog, some high-rolling bats, a constantly hungry jaguar, and a lunatic ape.

Reginald refuses to be cowed by his neighbors. But can he find a way to turn these unfriendly folks into friends after all?

funny, but i thought it had too many words. the jaguar was adorable and trying their best and was my favorite. also, i know the reader isn't supposed to think too much about the dynamics between Reginald and the ape, but does Reginald get eaten or are there no consequences to the predator-prey system going on?

Enjoyed on openlibrary.org. Bizarre story. But a certain sort of child at a certain age will like it. I think I might have loved it when I was about 7 or 8.
