Mit ihrer übernatürlichen Fähigkeit und Somas Scharfsinn lösen die beiden allerhand Kriminalfälle. Von Geistererscheinungen über Diebstähle bis hin zu Entführungen stellen sie sich jeder Herausforderung.
This was such a cute, cozy read and an excellent addition to the detective manga genre. I was also surprised by the philosophy subtly inserted between the lines and the dynamics of the characters, in general. This manga is highly recommended!
Very sweet ending. Great series overall. I just wish it was a little deeper…maybe a little darker. It was very calm even when they were investigating murders lol Oh and the romance is very SUBTLE. So if you’re reading for that, you WILL be disappointed. Not even a kiss!!!!
This series, has unexpectedly become one of my comfort reads.
I don't usually read detective stories, but I really enjoyed this series. There is a nice blend of mystery and romance. If you're someone like me who enjoys romance as a cute little subplot, then this is perfect.
Though the premise and story is great, I must say that the characters are stand out. I remember feeling lukewarm about these characters on the first few chapters, but as I go on and read more, I can't help but feel attached. There's excellent character progression and I enjoyed every bits of it.
This is probably one of the series I will reread. :)
I loved this series soo much. All the cases that souma and kanoko investigated were really interesting and I never knew what to expect. Characters very well written in my opinion, I got attached to them quickly. I always wanted to cheer for our detective duo.
AND WE GOT SOME LGBTQ+ REPRESENTATION HELL YEAH.
Souma's backstory at the end was very appreciated. He's a really interesting character for me.
The romance, secondary to the plot I would say, was a good touch to the story. Although it was very, and I mean VERY slow burn, it won't stop me from giving this series 5 stars (either way I like slow burn lol)
Really got me screaming when they finally held hands in the last chapter lmao
The Chiyo filler chapters were not really interesting for me... but everything else makes up for it so still 5 stars 😼
Anyways I 100% recommend to anyone who likes mystery!
This is set in the Japan, in the period between wars. Kanoko has the power to 'hear' lies, and it has been so troublesome for her, that she thinks it's a curse.
When she moves to the city and meets detective Iwai, he discovers her ability and asks her to work as his assistant.
The cases they work in are interesting and the author has been very careful to correctly represent the time period. The characters and supporting cast are likable and in general I can't think about any 'buts' about this story, which means it's really good.
look. i don't wanna talk about it... at least this doesn't fully ruin the series for me. It was a fine ending - for the most part.
this felt very disjointed and unnecessary after the first chapter - just gotta be honest here. and even though I was very aware that we were gonna go "romancy" with this doesn't mean that i fucking like that - at least the manga warned me 2 volumes ago... But that still wont make me like a romantic relationship between a 16 year old girl and a full grown man - okay. And that is that. I adore Volumes 1-9 - and this also exists - i suppose.
I'm definitely posting the final volume. I'm glad that this was was getting updated in another language that it was refreshed to the top of the page so I could read this amazing work. I love the duo, I'm glad they confessed their feelings for each other. I honestly will miss this fun short read, will I remember it that well in a couple months, prob not since it took me only a day to finish the series.
Clunky ending, appreciated Souma's backstory. But damn, this manga hits hard. Expected detective stuff, got cooo introspections on the nature of truth and morality. Though it may be shallow at times, the character work stands out so much. Amazing short read.
Also, thank God they wrapped up the romance in a neat little bow.

I always rely on shoujo manga to lift my mood "Usotoki Rhetoric" is one of them A beautiful and short manga
I loved the diversity of characters, and their writing felt both logical and heartfelt And of course, the ending was the most beautiful part 🥹 But now I can't believe I actually finished it..
I love this manga. I was practically squealing near the end of this volume- the two leads are too adorable. The romance was more subtle than most mangas I've read, but still very enjoyable. I also loved how creative each mystery was.
A great end to the series that wraps up with some gentler storylines after the big, pulse-pounding end to volume 9. I'm sad that the series is over, but really enjoyed myself, and I look forward to possibly rereading this one at a later date.
overall the series was entertaining and light hearted reading. just didn't the last volume as I thinking last few chapters could be better....would still recommend reading this series
For the past couple days, this series has had me by the short hairs! I truly like that there was a variety of mysteries involved that had an underlying current of both found family and oneself.
