SPLM/SPLA

Rate this book
In August 1991, three members of the SPLM/SPLA Political-military High Command made the Nasir Declaration. This led to the split of the Movement. One of the leaders of the move(many say, THE ringleader) gives an account of the events that led to this momentous event in the SPLM/SPLA history, the developments that followed, what went wrong in the process, how the move affected Sudanese politics and the way forward for South Sudan.

fascinating and detailed address of the things we know not about our the mighty SPLM/A. The years of intrigues behind the struggle of the South Sudan people. It is easy to read as it rolls out much like a diary, a collection of events and raises the interest in the reader to get to what happens next. To the impatient though , that makes one wanna rush to the conclusion. That is also true for someone privy to the South Sudan or Sudanese contemporary history.
I like the encounter of Lam Akol, Riek Machar, Wani Igga and Lual Deng before and after the meeting with DR John Garang. It really set the stage for many of the ills and may be much of the un-talked about intrigues in the liberation party. In essence that the the epitome of the good,m the bad and the ugly. Our country reached puberty that day
