I hated that Julianni's family left her in the dark about their dealings, leaving her out there blind. That kidnapping shook her to her core, not understanding why, or who was responsible. What an unconventional meeting! However, the sparks between Julianni and Sedai were electric! I loved the vulnerability that Sedai showed, and the sweet way he catered to her, while she was under his protection. Sedai was her knight in shining armor, and she became his everything. Cute read.
I had cut out a few hours for my "Best Friend" whom always delivers. I fucking loved this couple! Love the angle you used... every possible emotion, whether I could personally relate or not, was evoked within this book. First off this man's name is special to me already, loved him before I knew him. Just the thought of a big strong handsome man, who's a provider, protector, and nurturer all in one... damn sis. He was perfect, ready to risk it all for a love that was at first unrequited. We usually read stories of women giving this kind of love, it's nice to see the tables turn. I loved her innocence... Ignorance... naiveté, in a world like ours it's certainly bliss to not know... to still be so hopeful for true love, and not to question everything and everyone around you. So much depth to these two! As always, worth the wait and the late night! Until we meet again...
Ate this story upppp! It started off a bit slow but once the story built up it was sooo good. I have never read a black bodyguard romance before and I was glad this one was my first.
Sedai has been hired to watch over Julianni and eventhough he has watched her from a far he has always felt a connection to her. Her family was foul for not giving her a heads up they had enemies and the poor woman got kidnapped.
Sedia found her and set out to protect her and protect her he did. I love how evident it was that he had feelings for her and even she couldn't deny the attraction from the moment they officially met.
I really enjoyed the story line and how these two came together. It was a great story and I really enjoyed it.
Sedai and Julianni met under very unusual circumstances. He was her secret protector but he had to come out of the shadows to protect her even more when her family's secret dealings led her to danger. Sedai is the type of man that we need in our lives. I loved the way that he took care of JuJu in such a way that she couldn't help falling for him. The love that they had for each other was what they needed. I was glad that they were able to have a life beyond what her family put her through. This book had danger and passion throughout which made this a great read. I can't wait for the next book by this author.
Overall i liked it. The kidnapping with the bodyguard to the rescue to save Juju, fmc, because her family has dealings she knows nothing of was a nice storyline. The story did draw me in right away but somewhere it fell flat. I don’t recall the book being an insta love. Which i don’t have an issue with because any thing done well will give you what you need. Maybe i needed just a little more build up between them since they were going to be hiding for a while. Anyways I liked them both and their povs. Some of the conversations they were having and the willingness to open up to each other was beautiful. The spice was hitting for sure too.
Wow. This was a great read. Juju was a “hopeful” romantic—not hopeless. Sedai was a man loving from a distance. When crazy circumstance lead to Julianna being in the line of fire, Sedai has to step in and be that guy for her. I knew it would be instalove, but I wanted a little more from these two. Who knows maybe we’ll see then again
This was intriguing enough for me. There were several flaws and inconsistencies, but I enjoyed Sedai and his quiet dedication to Julianni that went beyond his job (despite his questionable decisions while on duty). And even though she had ulterior motives at first, she redeemed herself to me with how she handled the attack situation. I dug it enough.
This was a cute instalove story. I loved the lessons of trusting God’s timing and not rushing into things or rejecting things just because it looks different than the picture we had in our heads or thinking we don’t deserve something. This couple was perfect for each other and I’m glad they got their happily ever after.
I didn’t like how overly descriptive it was. We don’t need to know he went inside the house, locked the door, set the alarm, bent down to pick up his shoe, washed the vegetables, admired the cabinets and fed his goldfish. It felt too formal and proper for me to really believe the “gangsta” vibes of this story. I did not finish it. I stopped at 28%. Basically chapter two when Sedai is introduced.
Such a great storyline and read. So glad, Sedai didn't listen to her father in saying his daughter deserved a person like him. And that JuJu, had made up her mind he was the one for her and didn't waiver one moment. Glad she didn't take no for an answer when Sedai was trying to push her away because of his past. She stayed and then understood she was the one.
Juju & Sedai made such a stunning pair! It's wild how they turned a rough start into true love. I mean, Juju's dad calling himself the HNIC while leaving her clueless? Crazy! And watching Sedai learn to accept love? So heartwarming. Can't wait to dive into more of Mycah's work! This book gave me all the feels
Sedai spent years watching her from afar, that was his job. When one gruesome event occurs, Sedai stops at nothing to rescue Julianni. Forced to be in close quarters, the chemistry between the two has no choice but to blossom. This was a fast-paced good time! You saved me. Now it’s my turn to save you.
Secrets that are supposed to protect us prove to bring more harm than safety. Honesty with our children with knowledge of their surroundings and what we actually do for a living will not only protect them however give them a broader perspective of life.
I was not sure what to expect because this is the first time that I’ve seen this author. It didn’t disappoint me at all. This was a very good short story that started off a little slow, but ended well. I highly recommend reading this story.
My highlights in this book are epic. He has a dirty mouth, and she is bold af. She went after that man’s no no square like it was her full time job until he finally gave it up 😂 this was a good time
I loved juju and Sedai love story. I was a bit frustrated with her parents for not telling her what was going on with me the family. This book touch on kidnapping, and murder. Sex scenes were 🔥🔥 glad the couple got their HEA. Kudos to the author👏🏾👏🏾
The story was so good BUT I was confused on why Juju didn’t know her dad was a crime boss! Sedai had been watching her for 2 years and fell in love with her from afar. Then one day…they met. It’s what fairytales are made of.
I loved Juju and Sedai’s connection. Despite their unconventional start, they got their HEA. I always enjoy Ms. Edwards’ stories, looking forward to the next one already!
Really a cute story. Definitely what it says it is a bodyguard romance. I really liked the names of the characters. We all should be Lucy like JuJu to find a man like him.
Sedai and Juju had a instant connection, which was written well. Sedai had feelings for Juju from afar, but never acted on them. Great instant love connection read.
I liked this story. The spice was there, the connection was there, and the end was so sweet. I’ll be checking it more of BLove and Mycah Edward’s’ catalogs
I failed to actually see a genuine connection between Julianni and Sedai. I think we needed more time of them together and not Sedai coming into their situation already in love.
