Gabe

A lie. Presenting a false impression. To be deceptive.

That’s what I am. A lie.

My family sees one version of me. The world sees another.

Neither is real.

I like it that way. Prefer it even.

And then there’s her.

She sees right through the lie. Through me.

And no matter how much I try, there doesn’t seem to be a damn thing I can do to hide from her.

Daisy

A liar recognises another liar.

I was labelled rebellious. The girl with behavioural issues.

Because no one bothered to dig deep enough to find the truth.

I was running. Chasing an escape that didn’t come until I left school.

I have it under control now. Or at least I thought I did.

Until I meet Gabriel De Bellis. And everything I thought I buried rises to the surface.

Can two people stuck in a web of their own lies find a common truth?

This is so freaking looong. Does this have to be 500 pages? 🥲

Anyway, this is the usual insta-love with KK's books. There was some stalking involved before Gabe and Daisy officially met in person. It was lust-based in the beginning; both of them didn't entertain the idea of a relationship before, and they were both sexually active based on the impression I got. Daisy wants to put the same label on what they're doing—that it's purely no strings—but Gabe wasn't having any of it. It was insta-love for him; how that happened, I'll never understand. 🤷‍♀️

Aside from the sexy times, the story revolves around their domesticity and the mundane things they do every day. I honestly could care less about those. And the steamy scenes got so repetitive along the way that I skimmed some of them afterwards.

Then there's the running away attitude of Daisy, definitely not a cute thing to read, and actually her behavior annoyed me. She shouldn't have gotten involved with Gabe if she couldn't handle his real life. It irked me that she's been using his role in the family to leave him when, in reality, she's just scared of how much she loves him. Coward characters are never fun to read.

Then we had the conflict that almost made me throw my Kindle, and I love my Kindle so much. It was the stupidest and most annoying scenario I've ever read.

Spoiler: Gabe and Daisy eloped because they wanted to start their lives together. But the next night, he was tasked to go with his brother to a business meeting. This was a setup, and Gabe was caught red-handed in arms dealing.

He and his lawyer petitioned for bail, but it was denied. In the beginning, he was expected to serve a 10-year sentence, but his lawyer was able to trim it to 5 years. After he was sentenced, Daisy found out she's pregnant but couldn't tell Gabe about it because she was removed from his visiting list. Gabe was an idiot for doing that; I just have to say that.

Anyway, his reason was that he didn't want her to see him like that, so he cut communication with her. But after a year of serving his sentence, they were able to get parole with probation.

Note that, up until this point, nobody knows they're married except his youngest brother. The first thing on his list was to get back with his wife. This dumbass lovefool still wants Daisy and never wavered, but it still pissed me off that he cut her out of his life. He even said he's not going to blame her if she moves on. 😤

Thankfully, Daisy got over her flighty phase and was only patiently waiting for Gabe to complete his sentence. She came back, bringing their son along with her, and voila, they just picked up where they left off, and HEA for them.

While I'm glad it didn't take them long to be together again, I still think their separation and the secret pregnancy were the most atrocious parts of this book. I just wish it didn't happen.

Because in my head, if Gabe found out he's going to be a father, he'd be more determined to get out of prison, and he would still be somewhat with Daisy's pregnancy journey. He would still see her grow their baby, and he would still be able to provide support for her. Reading that he missed her pregnancy and the first five months of their son's life doesn't sit well with me.

They were both at fault! As for Gabe, if he didn't remove her from the visiting list, she would be able to tell him about her surprise pregnancy. And as for Daisy, even after the lack of communication, I just hoped she told the other brothers about her situation so that they could tell Gabe the news and so that he'd finally get his head out of his ass. 🤦‍♀️

Anyway, this was still an okay read. It's quite a bit long, and honestly, it could've been a few pages short. Some parts felt dragging and repetitive, but some were really good. I'm going to pretend the conflict didn't happen, so my mood won't be totally ruined.

He was cute but I don‘t like the fact he didn‘t tell Daisy a lot about his business. He wants honesty but doesn’t really open up to Daisy.

This was good but not amazing. It was too insta lovy for my liking and I think it would have been better if the relationship got more time. They drop I love yous before the 50% mark which is really early. In general I love the ideas and writing style of Kylie Kent but most of her books are insta love which is boring (considering the length of her books).
The tension between Daisy and Gabe is okay and not as nerve wrecking as in other mafia romance books. They are a good couple and both want to make their relationship work. In my opinion it‘s a little sad that their whole relationship builds up on meaningless sex and they come together before they got one real conversation. A lot of smut but no character development.
I know I really loved the first book in this series but this one was not my cup of tea.
Overall this was an okay mafia read.

I enjoyed this one and I liked the characters but I feel like I did myself a disservice by reading this so close to when I read A Sinner's Promise and Following His Commands since all of the books have overlapping scenes. Most of the beginning of this book were parts I had already read, just in another POV. And while it was fun to get the different POVs for what was going on in the background with Daisy and Gabe during these scenes, it was still a little too much of the same and it made me want to skim. Even new scenes had me feeling like I just wanted to skim to get to parts I knew would happening and to get ahead of the timeline I've already seen three times now.

I think that was fully just a me issue and like I said, I still enjoyed the story and the characters. I'm even more excited now to get more of the brothers and I will definitely be coming back to the series for the next installment.

Gabriel De Bellis life is a facade, there is the side of him he shows everyone and their is the side of himself he keeps carefully hidden, never allowing anyone close enough to see. When he meets Daisy he has no idea he has been watching her and is wanting more with her than a casual acquaintance.

Daisy has a heated encounter with Gabriel, she doesn't expect to find him pursuing her. She is not a dating woman, she has a past she keeps close to her chest but the more time Gabriel spends with her the more time she spends with him the more she can't seem to let him go. Danger is surrounding them, while secrets are revealed. Can these two who are fighting the odds find a happily ever after while a storm is brewing around them?

So many twists in this one. I liked Gabe, he was a bit of a mystery and you see a whole different side of him in this book. What I appreciate about this series is the complex plot line does not solely focus on the two main characters it encompasses the whole family. Terrific book.

A solid 3 star read

This is the second instalment in the De Bellis Crime Family 5 book series and centres on Daisy and Gabe who I found to be likeable and interesting characters. This instalment answers some of the questions which were first asked in book 1 but leaves enough unanswered questions for the future books. As usual Kylie has given us a well written and engaging book but I must admit that I got rather bored with all the bedroom activities which I actually thought detracted from the storyline and left little room for plot development hence only 3 stars. Even though I didn’t enjoy this book as much as the first it kept me interested enough to finish and with a desire to read book 3.

Good read!

"A Sinner’s Lies"
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/🌶🌶🌶

This is the second book in the series, and it didn't disappoint! Gabe is the perfect mafia character, and when he declares, "You are mine," you better believe it! ❤️‍🔥 I can't wait to see more of their story after he gets out of prison. The ending felt a bit rushed, but overall, I was totally hooked!

I love her writing it’s soo easy to read and I just forget how long I’ve been reading. I liked the storyline but she could have had more chapters if the ending we had one chapter not even that of Daisy and her son while Gabe was in prison, and couldn’t even see Gabe be a father. Hopefully in the books to come we will get to see that

I was super skeptical at the beginning of this book… however the five stars is because once it hit the 30% mark I could not put it down. Kylie has a way to really grip you with the unexpected. The story felt really original to me and I can’t wait for Vins book.

In Kylie Kent's novel A Sinner's Lies, readers are immersed in a compelling and emotional journey of two individuals entangled in a web of deception and self-discovery. The narrative unfolds with raw honesty, exploring themes of identity, vulnerability, and the transformative power of genuine connection.

The story centers around Gabe and Daisy, two characters who harbor deep-seated secrets and inner turmoil. Gabe is portrayed as a master of deception, presenting different personas to his family and the world. Daisy, on the other hand, has a troubled past marked by labels and misunderstandings. When their paths cross, they are drawn to each other in ways that challenge their carefully constructed facades.

Kent's writing delves into the complexities of human nature, showcasing the characters' struggles with authenticity and trust. Gabe's internal conflict is palpable as he grapples with the fear of revealing his true self to Daisy, who sees through his masks. Similarly, Daisy's journey of self-acceptance and healing is beautifully portrayed, highlighting the impact of Gabe's presence in her life.

The author skillfully navigates themes of vulnerability and emotional intimacy, allowing readers to empathize with the characters' experiences. The evolving relationship between Gabe and Daisy is portrayed with sensitivity and depth, as they confront their insecurities and confront the truths they've been hiding from.

As Gabe and Daisy navigate their tangled pasts and shared vulnerabilities, they discover a common truth that transcends their individual struggles. Kent weaves a poignant narrative that underscores the importance of authenticity and human connection.

Overall, A Sinner's Lies is a captivating and emotionally resonant read that delves into the complexities of identity and truth. Kylie Kent's evocative storytelling and well-drawn characters create a compelling narrative that explores themes of redemption and self-discovery. Readers who appreciate heartfelt romance and profound character development will find this novel a rewarding and engaging experience.

This is one messed up book, he's Italian and doesn't know what the name Luciano means? Really? makes me think how old the author Kylie Kent is because of the way she wrote this book. It was too childish for my liking, so many things weren't making sense at all. It was all over the place as if it was written by someone with a teenage thought. Right from BK1 I never liked Daisy,in BK1 she came across as that jealous friend and in BK2 she was literally a broken record, maybe even bipolar not knowing what she wants and sounding like a stupid child. Let's not even talk about Gabe because some of his actions disappointed me too. Removing her name from visitor list like? I was looking forward to this book but I'm disappointed although I'm still going to finish the series because of the brothers. This series is my first time of meeting this author, while BK1 was OK-ish BK2 left me one kind. Giving it 2 ⭐⭐

I just finished this and I'm kind of really disappointed because the things I didn't enjoy in the first book are back here. I was waiting for this one for so long, I thought I would love this, given the chemistry between the two that we saw in the first book. But in reality it was soooo fast, like they saw each other two times and they are instantly in love, he wants her to be his girlfriend and all, like what do you mean. I really wanted a slow burn, with tension, but the author decided to do as fast as the first book. Plus, the story is kind of flat, because they get together like at 15% or 20% of the book, then we just see them together for so long. I just want to add that when I finally thought that we would have a little fight, drama or something, because he literally dr*uged and kidnapped her, she goes back to him, wtf. It's still an easy and fast read tough.

I'm very dissapointed in this book. I feel the author didnt give it the same love she gave the first book with Gio and Ellie.

The last 20% was mostly what ruined the book. Gabe being arrested was so stupid to me and the fact that they were setting a trap but got trapped themselves was so bad. How unfair it was for Gabe to get caught while Alex and the others werent. I honestly dont like Gio anymore after this. It was 100% his fault with what happened to his brother. I dont like how Daisy didnt blame him . but of course she didnt know what happened so how could she.

I dont like how we dont see Daisy getting along or connecting with the brothers. The author made it known in the previous book and even in this one that Dais feels they dont like her. And while thats not as important, they are Gabe's family and he will always be with them no matter what so It is pretty significant to have scenes with her and them.

I mean Vin did a 180 with her and as great as it was for him to help her, it was whiplash for her and for me as a reader. There was literally no scene with her and any of the brothers except for Vin. Extremely unsatisfying. Especially when Gave in the beginning was for a sec thinking maybe she could help Vin by maybe talking to Daisy with what he went through. Or even when we had only 1 scene where Daisy was trying to help him and nothing was ever made out of it. Again creating an unimpactful disconnected story on their relationships.

Also Idont like how we dont get how the brothers are dealing with Gabe's situation being in prison and the fact that they should be taking care of his woman!!! I dont like how we arent really shown that Gio feels guilty for his Brother having to go to oprison because of him when he knows perfectly well, Gabe wanted out. How Gabe always does everything he asks of him! It's disgusting how Gio and the brothers handled the situation.

It would've been better to have shown more on that and because we didn't, I cant help but think they didnt care at all.
I love the relationships this author makes and thats what keeps me going. But she needs to understand whats important whenever she decides to switch POV'S the ending with Gio's was unnecessary unless it fed to his guilt for Gabe and/or how he was working hard to get him out and find Daisy. I know she wanted to leave it in a cliffhanger to push for readers to want the next book. But it was a lame move.

I can bet readers would prefer to have seen all the scenes I mentioned that never happened and also to have more time and epilogues with Gabe and Daisy as they honestly deserved better!! Why Gio get a full on 2 epilogues in his book when Gabes just kind of ends. We needed more time to see them connect as a family since they have been pushing for this since they got together in the book. As well as seeing the family all together again after a year.

I liked Gabe and Daisy alot more than the 1st book but unfortunately, the author made made dislike Gio who I honestly really loved and she also ruined the book which the lacking of bond between Daisy and the brothers. I mean I dont understand why she didnt have those scenes. It felt like she skipped so many important moments of what could've been wonderful connections, making the book feel real and touching!

It seems to be a freakin trend with Kylie Kent and I dont like it because it completely ruins her stories and the realism of connecting with the characters and being touched by them. I honestly feel like Im dont with her books even if I only read htese 2 from her. I do like how her relationship are but I dont know if its worth it. I will finish this series though because I dont like unfinished ones. I just pray it gets better but I think it will all be the same missing impactful moments.

🔥 Buckle up, romance lovers, because A Sinner's Lies takes us on a wild, pulse-pounding ride through the dangerous world of the De Bellis Crime Family! This second installment is all about Gabe and Daisy, and let me tell you, their story is one for the books! 😍

Gabe (Gabriel) is the ultimate bad boy with a dark past that haunts him, but there’s something about Daisy that makes him question everything he thought he knew. Daisy, on the other hand, is a fierce, independent woman who isn’t afraid to stand up to Gabe, even though he's the epitome of trouble. The emotional intelligence Daisy brings as a counselor is a game-changer—it’s what helps Gabe start to untangle his obligations to the family business from his own dreams. Their chemistry? Off the charts! Their banter, their intensity—it's the perfect blend of heat and heart. 🔥❤️

What I loved most was how the timeline of this story overlaps with the events of Book 1, running in parallel for a good chunk of it. Fresh off reading Book 1, I was super engaged, especially as the plot dove deeper into the mystery surrounding Shelly’s death and the elusive Santo. The last 15% of the book? CRAZY twists I didn’t see coming! The suspense was through the roof, leaving me on the edge of my seat, desperate to know what happens next. And now, I can only imagine what Book 3 has in store—it’s going to be intense! 💥🤯

A Sinner's Lies delivers all the thrills, chills, and heart-stopping moments you expect from a mafia romance. The emotional depth, the overlapping timelines, and those jaw-dropping twists make this a must-read. This book is still a powerhouse of suspense and romance! 🌟💣

So, if you're ready for a steamy, suspenseful, and oh-so-satisfying romance, A Sinner's Lies is the book for you! Gabe and Daisy's story will leave you breathless and craving more from the De Bellis Crime Family. 😈💖

Narration: Antony Davis and Pixie McGann bring Gabe and Daisy to life with their incredible narration. Davis’s deep, commanding voice perfectly captures Gabe's rough edges, while McGann adds the perfect touch of strength and vulnerability to Daisy. Together, they make the story jump off the page and into your heart. 🎧💥

This is book 2 in the interconnected standalone series by Kylie Kent
I seriously love this series and how the timelines of the books are around the same time. It allows us the unique perspective of how the other characters feel/what they were doing.

Daisy is a brave women who is a youth counselor trying to help other girls who are in a bad situations dimilar to what she was in. She is very close to her friends but keep things from them about her past. She also has massive commitment issues and refuses to settle down and put a label on what she has with Gabe. She is very aware of her surroundings and notices when her friends are lying and even if someone (Gio's men) are watching.

Gabe just wants to be seen for who he actually is and not for the person he pretends to be. He looked into his Brother's girlfriend's best friends when they started getting serious. He felt like Daisy could see his soul when she looked at him. He is very protective of his brothers especially after one of them killed their PoS Father. He is the best kind of unhinged possessive man. He is also so delicate and loving when it comes to Daisy.

First 18 ish chapters are pretty much the same as the first book but from Gabe and Daisy's perspective. I honestly enjoyed it though to see what was happening on their end.

I loved Gabe throughout the whole story. He has such a massive heart and goes out of his way for the ones he cares about. So much so that he darkens his soul for them or give up part of his life.
Daisy however kind of bugged me at times. She went against what her friend wanted then got upset when she realized the mafia prince she's with does mafia things. She kept saying she was all in one second then claiming she can't handle it the next. Like I understand her feelings and her why's but she went in knowing exactly who he was. The only reason I wasn't completely mad at her complaints is knowing Gabe hated being that person.

I personally was not prepared for that ending at all and I cannot wait to read the next book! I'm loving these brothers so much.

I didn’t mind it but it also wasn’t the best ending. Finding out Vin was sexually abused as a kid was horrible. And knowing that Daisy was raped for 4 years was also horrible. I don’t blame her for running and him kidnapping her was kinda funny. Also her forgiving him was too easy for that. I wasn’t expecting that from Gabe tho. He seemed more chill but guess not. Now Shelli. wtf she was having an affair. I guessed that and thought it was with the dad or something but it being an undercover cop and him setting up her death is terrible. Poor Santo. He’s gonna be going through it even more when he finds out. I think they should tell him tho. He deserves to know that the fiancée he’s mourning so hard didn’t love him as much as he did her. Even if that’s a bitter pill to swallow. I was not a fan of Gabe going to prison for a year. I think it’s stupid. And the secret baby. I get her reasoning. I don’t get why she left but I can kinda understand her reasoning for not telling Gabe. Especially when he stopped letting her visit. Fuck him for that. Love Vin for being there for Daisy and getting her out when she wanted out. He deserves more credit for that. Also Ellie being pregnant and them not telling Gabe but then Gio being annoyed he didn’t know Gabe and Daisy got married is crazy. You’re keeping secrets too buddy. I wish there was epilogue that showed after Gabe and Daisy reuniting. I’m sure they’ll be more about it in Marcel’s book but still. I did appreciate the bonus scene and finding about what really went down with Shelli. But that doesn’t explain how her sister knew to look at the beach house. Or why Shelli would keep a journal. Maybe more will be revealed. Bc Shelli didn’t die bc of santo or his brothers. She died bc she was a cheating whore and her lover didn’t want her or the baby so he took the easy way out and had her killed. I’m invested in the series tho even if the book quality is average.

I really enjoyed book 1, but I loved book 2! I wasn’t fully loving Daisy though. As a friend and person she was great and I loved her. But I didn’t like how she acted towards Gabe for most of the book and was so ready to run without even confirming certain things with him first. And I thought it was very hypocritical of her to tell him all she wanted was no strings attached sex, and that it meant nothing and didn’t want to share anything about herself with him, but then she got pissy when he wouldn’t open up to her. She just overreacted a lot at times. I found her to be a little bitchy and didn’t think Gabe deserved her attitude. But I did love her and Gabe together in the end and I really liked how their story concluded and that little bundle of joy he was surprised to find out about when he got released. I felt so bad for Daisy when got arrested and was sent away, then to find out she was pregnant. My heart broke for her. But I thought it was so absolutely heartwarming how Vin stepped right in and took care of her for that year and was there for her. But it didn’t surprise me because all those brothers are just the best thing ever and take care of their own.
This book was so good and I couldn’t put it down. I read it in one go, stayed up until 1:30 to finish! The beginning was slow and there’s a lot of repetition from book 1 throughout most of the book, just in Daisy and Gabe’s pov. But there’s also a lot more revealed and secrets and betrayal has been revealed- and I’m totally shocked and can’t imagine how Santo is going to handle it. Also I wasn’t expecting that little detail about Vin either. He’s such a loyal, caring and kind guy that I felt so bad for him with what he went through as a kid. Onto book 3!!

We get a glimpse of Daisy and Gabe in the first book and I couldn't wait for their full story! Gabe and Daisy are truly two souls who belonged together from the very beginning. Their infatuation with each other was off the charts HOT!!! If you are looking for steam, look no further because these two delivered on every level!
These two are fixers and care takers who often forget to care for themselves. Daisy lived a life filled with cruelty and abuse and Gabe is often one who delivers cruelty to those "deserving" of it. As soon as Daisy accepts Gabe for "who he is" their love blossoms into something amazing. Gabe would do anything to keep Daisy as his, sometimes blurring the lines of sane decisions. There were so many twists and turns throughout that I did not always see coming. At some points my heart was broken and then it was put back together again.
Aside from an amazingly twisted love story, this book gives us a glimpse back into the lives of all of the De Bellis brothers. These men are everything you want in a book boyfriend. Vin is the hero of this story in my opinion, and at only 18 years old, he is the one who takes the most care of Gabe and Daisy! I cannot wait to read his story!
If you are looking for a face paced, steamy, AF, roller coaster ride this book is IT!!! You are guaranteed a HEA but the road to get there is one fun, yet heartbreaking journey. All of the stars for Kylie Kent and the De Bellis Crime Family!!!!!!

This book is a slow burn psychological seduction wrapped in secrets, lies, and that delicious “I see you and I shouldn’t” tension that lives rent free in your chest.

Gabe is the kind of morally grey MMC who wears his lies like armour, controlled, untouchable, and very aware of the darkness humming beneath his skin.
The duality of who he is versus who he pretends to be is written so well that you can feel the fracture. And when Daisy clocks him? Game over. There’s nothing more intoxicating than a man who’s spent his life hiding and suddenly can’t anymore.

Daisy is equally compelling. She isn’t “damaged” for the sake of plot, she’s misunderstood, sharp, and quietly resilient.
Her past isn’t waved around for sympathy points; it’s woven into her reactions, her instincts, her refusal to be fooled.
She recognises a liar because she’s had to become one to survive, and that makes her connection with Gabe feel earned, not forced.

Their chemistry is a slow, aching burn. It’s not insta love, it’s two people circling each other, poking at wounds, peeling back layers they swore were buried.
Every interaction is loaded. Every look feels like a challenge. And when the walls finally crack? Chef’s kiss.

If you love dark romance with emotional depth, flawed characters, and that intoxicating “we’re bad for each other but can’t stay away” energy, this one delivers.
Come for the lies. Stay for the moment they’re forced to tell the truth and the wreckage that follows.

Highly recommend if you enjoy enemies to lovers vibes, morally grey men, and romances that make you sit there after finishing like:
“…well. I’m not okay, but thank you.” 😌📖

Gabe and Daisy 🥰

I was lucky enough to receive this as an ARC and have been eagerly awaiting it since I read book 1 A Sinners Promise.

What an amazing second book to this series. I never thought I’d love a Mafia family as much as I do the Valentino’s but the De Bellis boys are catching up!!

Gabe is just all kinds of the book boyfriend you want, he’s consistent in his pursuit, he’s sweet and romantic - then he kills for you and kidnaps you when you try to leave! He’s the perfect mix of sweet and dark! With spice thrown in!! And Daisy is just so fierce! She’s completely loyal and takes no shit, and has been through the worst. They are both instantly attracted to each other physically and you definitely feel that attraction on page. Their intimate scenes are HOT! Steam and spice galore!
You can tell from the beginning they are also soulmates. They both have the need to take others problems on as their own no matter the cost. Which inevitably puts a strain on their relationship.
The whole story had me gasping at the twist and turns, I couldn’t put it down, needing to know what would happen. Get ready for an emotional rollercoaster! I enjoyed the fact it coincided with book one but went beyond that story. The hints at the other brothers books has me foaming at the mouth 🤣 I can’t wait to read them!

All in all I loved it!

Gabe and Daisy

One thing I love and hate about this series is that there is considerable overlap in the stories. I love it because I felt like I got some clarity on things I didn’t realize were left open. I hate it because it made me realize there are still more things going on and I won’t get clarity until the last book is written. I would love an omnibus with all the povs on the same timeline, kind of like unshuffeling a deck of cards.

Overall I liked this plot. It picked up maybe 25% of the way through Ellie and Gio’s plot and I was surprised by the intensity of Daisy and Gabe’s relationship. Gabe was all in from the beginning, but Daisy took some time to come to terms with her feelings for Gabe. Gabe was the ultimate morally grey hero. He would do anything for the ones he loved, and that quickly included Daisy.

This series has seemed a little darker than I’m used to from Kylie Kent. In the past the darkness has been more off page, but in this series there is a lot more realism. It makes the stories more believable but a little shocking. Not all the situations are sunshine and roses and it makes more sense for the underworld of society to be a little darker.

"Sinner's Lies," the second installment in the De Bellis Crime Family saga, delves deeper into the intricate web of secrets and lies that bind the powerful De Bellis family. While the chemistry between protagonists Gabe and Daisy is undeniable, the excessive focus on bedroom scenes unfortunately overshadows the compelling plotline.

Gabe, the enigmatic man, reveals unexpected layers of vulnerability, captivating readers with his internal struggles. Daisy, a woman haunted by her past, emerges as a strong and independent character who challenges Gabe's carefully constructed facade.
The series excels in its intricate plotting, extending beyond the romantic arc to explore the complex dynamics within the De Bellis family. The interwoven storylines and intriguing family secrets keep readers engaged and eager to uncover the truth.

However, there were times where I felt very frustrated with Daisy as I felt like she could’ve done something different other than run away from certain problems (if you have read the books you would understand), and I felt like that indeed the development of the character arcs and the plotlines. Despite this drawback, “Sinner’s lies” maintains a captivating momentum, leaving readers eager for the next installment!

Dark, brutal, and emotionally consuming — exactly how I like it

4⭐️ Once again, Kylie Kent delivers those tortured souls I absolutely live for. This is why I read dark romance. These characters aren’t soft, they aren’t protected by plot armour, and they’re definitely not magically saved just because they’re the MCs. They’ve lived, they’ve suffered, and it shows. The trauma feels earned, the pain feels real, and that depth is what makes her stories hit so hard for me.

The world feels raw and believable — horrendous at times, yes, but in that way that completely sucks you in and refuses to let go. I get so enraptured by it that everything else fades out. That immersive, gut-level realism is Kylie Kent’s superpower and it’s on full display here.

And the plot?? Oh my god. It thickened dramatically. So many layers, so many threads, so many questions — I’m obsessed with figuring out what’s really going on and where this is all heading. Every time I thought I had a handle on it, another piece dropped and pulled me straight back under.

Thank goodness this isn’t a standalone because I am not ready to leave this world yet. Dark romance readers who crave depth, damage, and emotional intensity — this one will absolutely get its claws into you.

Gabe and Daisy- obsessed!! Daisy is one of Ellie’s friends who was hooking up with Gio’s brother but they both fell hard and fast. Gabe became obsessed with everything Daisy even to the point of kidnapping her when she was going to run. She had a rough childhood and was raped from 13-17 by her stepfather. She was afraid to trust any man and become a different person but Gabe was different. She did have a hard time with his lifestyle with working as a Made man. During a meet up with Alex Manicini (Lily’s husband) Gabe gets arrested, the day after they get married) he gets sentenced to 5 years, leaving Daisy alone. He takes her off the visiting list and she finds out she’s pregnant. Vin helps her leave town and visits once a month for a week. After a little after a year Gabe gets out of jail and finds out Daisy is gone. Vin brings her back to town and Gabe gets to meet his son Luciano. They loved each other through thick and thin.

The most interesting part about their book is the revelation about Shelli (Santo’s dead fiancée). They find a journal that explains her having an affair. Turns out she was having an affair with an undercover cop. They hid the news from Santo.

In Kylie Kent's novel A Sinner's Lies, readers are taken on a heartfelt journey with Gabe and Daisy, two individuals grappling with deep secrets and emotional struggles. Gabe, a skilled deceiver, hides behind various facades, while Daisy confronts a troubled past filled with labels. Their chance encounter challenges their carefully constructed identities and sparks a transformative connection.

Kent's writing delves into the complexities of authenticity and trust, vividly portraying Gabe's fear of revealing his true self to Daisy, who sees through his disguises. Daisy's journey toward self-acceptance is equally compelling, showcasing the profound impact Gabe has on her healing. The evolving bond between them is depicted with sensitivity as they confront their insecurities and hidden truths.

A Sinner's Lies emphasizes the redemptive power of love and acceptance, revealing a universal truth that transcends their individual challenges. Kent's evocative storytelling and well-developed characters create a powerful narrative that explores identity, vulnerability, and the significance of human connection.
