So there is some kind of big alien monster that Star Fire says is a god. Batman has a plan to fight the monster but Beast Boy says he has a better plan so they go with that. Beast Boy becomes a big god-like creature himself and fights the monster, he defeats it but it gains control of his brain. This issue sets up the Titans facing off against Beast Boy who's extremely OP in this run.
Overall this was decent. Didn't like the current characterizations of the Titans but the story setup was enjoyable enough. Might check out the next issue of this series if I remember too.
That's an interesting kickoff. I have read the main storylines around this and didn't actually take the time to read the beastworld event. I am probably not going to go look for the individual cities. I will say however, if you didn't hate Amanda Waller already, you will. Or you will hate her more, if that was possible. I would think after what she did to Terry McGinnis I couldn't think worse of her, but here we are.
Decent beginning. I'm curious about that book because it looks like the one seen at the end of Outsiders #1. I like this narrative style, too - it's the same as Dead Planet's and definitely fits the tone.
Dr. Hate's design is cool.
I hate Amanda Waller.
I dislike the whole "You...!" style baddie reveals that keep it secret from the reader. What's the point? It would've been just fine for the story to continue without it.
well done issue. i found it a step up above the regular titans run in terms of emotional richness and depth and i enjoyed the chant being played over and over again but meaning something very different in different context but still talking about the same journey people take when understanding and trying to find sene and meaning in unmeaning and harsh world.
This is what a first issue should be like. This was great, but it did leave me with soooo many questions: Why was Doctor Hate there? Where is Cyborg? Wtf is Waller up to (Please don't make her the big bad, it's getting played out lately)? And what has happened to Beast Boy?!
This was such a good beginning of the story, I am SO excited to see how this all turns out. I enjoyed Beast Boy in Superhero Girls, but that's really all the knowledge I have of him, so I'm excited to learn more about him and the other titans. This is actually my first Titans series! HYPED.
Not bad, and did reel me in every time the main story was being progressed, but the interludes of how other dc-characters, that are not really the focus of the story (like the red hood), deal with it, it kinda brought me away from the story. If that makes sense
