Conflict rages across the eastern half of Athumia, but Lyla and Lahnos want no part of it. To Lyla, the war means nothing, and all that matters is helping Elbannon construct a device capable of taking her home. To Lahnos, thrust into an unwanted position of authority leading the Bullan uprising, the war is a hindrance, preventing him from returning to the Serpent Isle.
While Lyla and Lahnos face their struggles, Leona has challenges of her own. As one of the rulers of the Serpent Isle, she has made enemies – enemies who despise her. With her reputation in tatters, she strives to govern an island that blames her for its problems. With Sigum searching for Lahnos, and Efizel badly wounded, Leona is alone.

About Me
I love deserts, which is too bad as I live in Scotland, but the mountains, glens and lochs more than make up for it. My other love is Greek Tragedy, especially Euripides, and I also read history, science, fantasy, and pretty much anything about the Beatles…

Advanced Reader Copy review: He's done it again! I can't decide if Christopher Mitchell is a genius, an evil genius, or just plain evil. This makes (how many books?) and he still manages to surprise me every single time. I sometimes wish I had mind-reading powers so that I could pop into CM's mind and figure out where the stories come from. Oh well. I'll have to settle for being happy to read his work.
Okay, so Kin Strife. It's hard to say a lot without spoilers. Kin Strife advanced the overall story brilliantly and left me wanting more. The story is full of twists and turns, surprises impossible to predict. It's really hard to wait for the next book to be available but I'll spend the time re-reading the series again from the beginning. It's that good.
Kin Strife: An Epic Fantasy Adventure (The Magelands Dominion Book 5), my twenty-fifth read from prolific author Christopher Mitchell, 454-pages of epic fantasy. When I want to read epic fantasy I first look for author Christopher Mitchell. I look forward to reading more from this author, in fact Tempest's Edge: An Epic Fantasy Adventure (The Magelands Dominion Book 6) is next on my TBR list. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
Another wonderful book in the series that builds on the Demon Witch's story. A little sad in one place but hopefully that turns into a positive. Love the characters in this series as their emotions and lives are very realistic. Looking forward to seeing what actually becomes of Lyla.. I'm expecting something amazing! If you've not read this series, it's a must as it's full of twists and turns
The latest thrilling episode in this amazing fantasy series. With complex characters and unexpected plot twists this will enthral aficionados of the genre. Christopher Mitchell is a master of his craft and this is just the latest in an incredibly riveting saga. Can't wait for the next instalment!
What a good book. But why oh why do you do this to us. I cried, I laughed then I hated Christopher Mitchell for writing such a good story. I can't say anymore or it will give to much away. Thank you Christopher I hate you.
So exciting was this book and with it's tragic conclusion really left me feeling rather inclined to end reading the series here...Then what other amazing reading would I miss in this brilliant series.
Yet another block buster of a novel from Christopher. This man certainly knows how to write! This is book 33 in the sprawling Magelands series and each one is a gripping adventure that you will find hard to put down. I look forward to the next book with a mixture of dred and excitement as it's the last one in the Magelands Dominion series.
