Welcome to my little space out on the web. I'm Kenny Soward, and I'm an author, musician, and once IT guy. I write books in many sub-genres of Science Fiction and Fantasy, including post-apocalyptic, military science fiction, epic fantasy, and horror. I'm influenced by authors such as Stephen King, George R. R. Martin, Anne Rice, J.K. Rowling, Mark Lawrence, Dan Simmons, Robin Hobb, Robert McCammon, Larry Correia, and Mike Kraus.
I love all kinds of movies and shows from Battle Star Galactica (reboot) to the Walking Dead. There's nothing I won't try.
I grew up in Kentucky in a small suburb just south of Cincinnati, Ohio, listening to hard rock and playing outdoors. In those quiet 1970's streets, I jumped bikes, played Nerf football, and came away with many scars.
My grandfather and many of my uncles and cousins served in the United States Military, and my father was a Kentucky State Trooper. Their efforts taught me the meaning of sacrifice and gratitude. I've always had an avid curiosity about the world around me, and I hope my enthusiasm for life carries over into my stories, even the dark ones.
At first I thought something to read in my down time, but I was wrong! Grabbed my interest from first chapter in book1 until the end of book 8. Took a little over a month to read but I am so glad I read this. Got caught up in Ben’s struggles to reach his family, the horrors along the way, meeting helpful survivors and lot vile survivors. Meeting new friends and old enemies from military. His family also has their dangerous escapes from bully neighbors and getting to safety. ** And I loved that in each new book had a “Last time in Fracture” synopsis of previous book! Really loved reading these books. Thank you
Although there a few places where the story seemed repetitive, I could hardly stop reading. Many of the books I read in single day; had to break up.my reading because my eyes kept crossing. Overall, the storyline was well put together and the consistency between excellent. These are the books I love getting into, thanks for all of your teams efforts!
Such a different take on the dystopian apocalyptic type books. I really enjoyed everything about these books. The characters and the pure grit and no quit were just absolutely amazing. I highly recommend these books to anyone looking for something that is fast paced, full of action and a true love story played out in multiple couples.
First time reading this author and I got the complete 8 book series. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. Easy to follow, enjoyable characters that you rooted for. I’m looking forward to reading the next book by you. Which I got immediately after I finished this. That says alot!!
This is the first complete series I have read. I enjoy this way of reading. No waiting for months or years for the next book!!!!!
I really enjoyed this series. Experience the day to day problems of traveling across country when so much of the workings of society have collapsed. The joys and fears of who you might meet along the way as well as lifetime partners.
Just wow. The action never stops but always sprinked in with family, love and honor. I loved these books from start to end. Will look now for others by the same author/authors. Thanks for an amazing ride.
I've been reading Mike Kraus novels for a few years now and I'm never disappointed. This book kept me wanting more. Way to go guys ! Great collaboration, please get together again . I'll be waiting.
Great character development. I did find it a little “wordie” at times but well blended. Angel’s character and her grandparents were my favorites. I read all 8 in 10 days ( I’m retired) so a couple of nights I stayed up until 3:00 AM to finish the book I was reading.
Very good read. Realistic onl saw two things Corinth is on Ms, not Tn. And it is Iuka not Luka Ms. I live in the area. Was good to read about familiar places like Selmar and Hwy 45 Enjoyed the series very much.
Stayed up too late reading this long series. Characters are well developed. Story line flows well. The story takes you are a journey that you won’t likely forget. Wish this series came in print so I could gift it to others who don’t do digital.
I love a series that the characters draw me in and I feel I know them. It is then hard to say goodbye in the end. This book was exactly that and I will miss Joe, Kay and all the others. Thank you
I must say one of the best series I've read in a long time, I loved almost everything about it, the characters, even the bad discussions at times !! I can't wait for the next round ! Thank you for the distraction from the winter in Saskatchewan ha ha
Brilliant set of books. Totally believable and quite terrifying. Would recommend reading them all. Great story line and the feeling that you are going through with them is again very thoughtful
Fantastic work and well written. I’ve read dozens of post apocalyptic novels and I have my favorites and this series is now in the top five. Well worth the read.
I enjoyed book 1. Book 2 was a little “off” i have been through disasters and have never found people willing to kill within hours. Gave up midway through ok 3
