Lily & Noah shared a kiss 3 years ago, but nothing could ever come from it because he works for her family.

Lily was really frustrating me and I never really warmed up to her. From only feeling like she can eat salads to her keeping her health issues to herself yet being mad when her grandfather didn't share his to her 3rd act shenanigans. She was so stubborn and just totally bugged me. I did like when she finally figured things out in the end.

Sweet Noah, sweet sweet Noah. I loved him. I could see why he was having reservations about being with Lily.

While the epilogue was cute I found what happened to be too soon to give it a realistic feel with how their story was told.

Overall, an okay start to a series. Even though I didn't absolutely love this one I'll see what the rest of the series has to offer for Noah's brothers.

Narration notes:
Eh, Amy does okay, but I wish we had a male narrator.

First read by this author, it was perfectly okay, nothing particularly wrong with it, I just didn't care for the characters as much as I was hoping to, and I won't lose sleep if I decide not to continue with the series.

It was a really fast read, I zoomed through most of it yesterday because the storyline was engaging and I didn't want to stop listening. It's also not a very high stakes read, which is something I needed while finishing up a high fantasy book.

I found some parts of it to be funny, like the two of them stalking her grandpa and the mystery woman, and the romance itself was fine. I can't say I was Lily's biggest fan, though. She could be really annoying at times, while Noah was really sweet.

The book is told in dual PoV, but we only had one narrator, which wasn't the best decision, because there were constant PoV switches and more than once I was like "wait, who are we following now".

From what I'm seeing, the other two books are the same on audio, and while I enjoyed meeting Noah's brothers, based on this book, I'm not entirely convinced that I'd love their stories. Normally a rockstar romance and an NFL one would work better for me, but I'm just not sure if I should give them a try or not.

I love the tropes, and the description got me hooked, so I was really excited to read this book. However, despite the story having some cute moments and me liking Noah, I couldn't connect with Lily. Unfortunately, I found her a bit irritating at times, and that started to wear on me. I didn't feel like her character had the development I hoped for.

Despite that, I liked the author's writing, and I would read the next books in the series.

I received an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review, but all opinions are my own.

Thank you so much, Valentine PR, for sending me this ARC.

A second chance, contemporary romance story, told through dual perspectives.

Lily Montgomery is the ballerina with a career-ending injury, and Noah Wylder is the numbers nerd, committed to his plan of climbing the corporate ladder at Montgomerys.

I personally found Noah to be so sweet, whereas I found Lily rather frustrating and vapid.

Amy McFadden did a decent job narrating the story, and I would happily listen to stories she narrates into the future.

This is the first story I have read from Samantha Chase, and it will certainly not be the last.

Quick Summary: A second chance at forever

My Review: Irresistible Love by Samantha Chase is book one in the Wylder Love series. It features the relationship between Lily and Noah.

About the Book: Noah Wylder is a driven man. He has a plan for his life. He knows what he wants and he works hard to achieve it. He doesn't need anyone or anything to change his trajectory. Every time his life path crosses with Lily Montgomery's life path, however, he feels as if he totally loses himself in their stolen moments.

My Final Say: After reading/listening to the first book in the new Wylder series, I can honestly say that I am excited about what's to come. I enjoyed meeting the brothers. They all seemed to be good guys, despite what they had to live through.

Book one, regarding Noah and Lily's story, captured my attention. It was a simple wo-fi romance about second chances, about growth as individuals and as a couple, and about family. The issues that were presented were real life challenges that I could completely relate to, such as dealing with the illness of an elderly family member, admonishing someone you care about, and making major life decisions when it's easier to just go with the flow.

Other: The thing I most appreciated about this couple is that they didn't pretend to have all the answers. They went through the messy in order to get to the beautiful.

Rating: 4.25/5
Recommend: Yes
Audience: A
Series: Yes
Narration: +

Thank you to the author, to the publisher (Dreamscape Media), and to NetGalley for providing access to an audio ARC of this title in exchange for an honest review. It was a pleasure to read this novel and offer up my thoughts and opinions. I am grateful for the opportunity.

PERFORMANCE REVIEW & RATING: 4 STARS

I have a crush on Amy McFadden’s voice!
That’s it. That’s my narration review.
Do with that information what you will :)
No, wait, one thing … this story really could have used a male narrator. If a story is written in dual POV, it should probably be narrated that way as well for maximum enjoyment *shrug*

STORY REVIEW & RATING: 3.5 STARS

It’s only been a few months since I first experienced Noah & Lily’s kiss in the book A Merry Montgomery Christmas, so I was super excited to jump into this story and read how Samantha developed their story. It was truly heartwarming and easy and just made my heart smile. Even though Lily was reeeeeeeeeeally testing me, I still loved her! I think it was more how well she suited Noah that that really sold me on her and this story in general. I very rarely have trouble getting lost in a Samantha Chase story and this one was no different. I’m looking forward to seeing where Samantha takes this series.

The story isn’t without some dramatics here and there that really could have been completely left out of the story because they were only just that, dramatics. I know that’s a me thing, but drama for drama’s sake is one of my biggest twitches! Most of those came from Lily but I’m not going to pick on her any more LOL Noah was a great character and honestly made Lily a better person in my eyes and also the storyline.

Overall, not a bad start to a new series.
That’s it. Those are all my cents. Do with them what you will :)

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Irresistible Love, the first book in the Wylder Love series, told the story of a second chance at happily ever after. I had never read anything by Samantha Chase before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The synopsis gave me hope for a sweet romance. Continue reading for my opinions on what I felt was a fair beginning to a brand-new series.

Lily Montgomery is a dedicated dancer. Dancing is her life and one of the things that makes her happy.  However, a hip injury threatens to derail her career.  She returns to North Carolina to reconsider her options, one of which involves surgery. When she returns home, she discovers that her grandfather arranged for her entire family to go on vacation while he remained behind.

Noah Wylder is an extremely hard worker. He plans to work his way up the corporate ladder and envisions owning his own company. Romance was out of the question, as it would most likely disrupt his plans. However, whenever Lily Montgomery crosses his path, he finds himself deviating from his plan as he craves the brief but cherished moments of joy, relaxation, and intimacy he feels in her company. He knows he shouldn't, as spending time with her would place his job in jeopardy, but she was too irresistible.

Noah was a great character. Thoughtful, driven, and an all-around nice guy. He didn't have the best childhood, but he overcame it to become a well-adjusted adult. His character developed as the story progressed. He recognized that his desire for success was rooted in his past. He also accepted that his brothers were no more successful than him.

Lily, Lily, Lily, my god! The woman was the most annoying character I have ever encountered. I am still trying to figure out what Noah saw in her. Stubborn, immature, and entitled aptly describe her nature, which made it difficult to warm up to her. Although she eventually recognized that she needed an attitude adjustment, the change was minimal.

The romance, although okay, was not one I will remember for a long time. It was underwhelming. Granted, Noah and Lily shared a kiss three years ago, but nothing came of it then. Three years later, their relationship, which involved lots of sneaking around, took off like a bullet train. One could sense the depth of Noah's feelings, but with Lily, it came off as more fun and games. I didn't get the impression she felt the same about Noah as he did for her.

While this was not a favourite, I intend to continue the series given the chance. Noah's brothers piqued my interest, and I am eager for their stories. This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading

This is possibly the most poorly written book I’ve ever read. The plot is awful, the character development does not exist, and it is entirely fade to black which makes me wonder what the point even is? The characters are insane and constantly speak their inner monologue out loud for some reason, like the concept of having thoughts is outside of the author’s scope of possibility.

1* because it sent me back to sleep at 3am during my pregnancy insomnia

this was my first samantha chase book and i may try another again in the future but this one very much just wasnt for me.

dnfing at the 50% mark because i feel like theres just entirely too much going on without anything actually going on if that makes sense???

we have all of these different subplots going on all at once but everything just seems to be running in circles. i dont need to know every single repetitive thing about lilys appointments, she needed to grow a pair and confront her grand father way earlier than she did because that kind of got old quick as well.

theres A LOT of dialogue in this book that feels too immature for grown adults.

a huge thing im like what the hell about is that this was branded as a sexy book right? its closed door. which yes of course sometimes books can be both, however this one is not one of them. i dont mind closed door books whatsoever but i do think that they should not be branded as something they aren’t.

it started out really promising, i was having fun until i wasnt. unfortunately it got really repetitive and boring and i just dont want to listen to four more hours of the same nonsense 😅

I think maybe this is just a me issue, but this book didn’t work for me. I found the writing to be a lot of telling but not much showing. I found some of the dialogue to be childish as well. And really the main conflict of whether or not the FMC and MMC can be together really childish. Just didn’t love this one! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the chance to review this book!

This was my first book by Samantha Chase and I wasn’t sure what to expect… I really enjoyed it.

Irresistible Love is the first book in the Wylder Love series and this story is about Lily Montgomery and Noah Wylder.

Lily and Noah shared a kiss three years ago which caused a big issue within Lily’s family and family business because Noah worked and still works for her family's financial team. The family disapproved and were upset, to say the least!

Fast forward to now… Lily is a dancer. It’s her life. She loves it, but when she injures her hip it forces her to take a step back and reevaluate her dancing career as her dancing career may be in jeopardy. So she returns to her hometown in North Carolina to take some much-needed time to think and work out her next move. What she thought would be a warm welcome from her family was in fact not, her entire family, apart from her grandfather had gone on vacation.

Noah is a very determined man when it comes to his job. He works hard and it shows. He is committed and he’s working his way up the corporate ladder at Montgomery’s. However, three years ago, one kiss almost ruined that for him but he set out to redeem himself and stay under the radar, keeping his head down and working hard and he has successfully achieved that. However, things quickly change when Lily returns and visits her grandfather at the office. Noah can’t seem to escape the memory of the kiss they shared or the thoughts of her. She has gotten into his head. He knows that to keep his job, he needs to avoid Lily at all costs, it’s harder than expected when she asks for his help to find out what’s going on in the Montgomery family. it involves sneaking around which leads to them having to spend time alone together and because she’s never really left his mind since they shared that moment three years ago, the chemistry is still very much there. Can they control themselves or will they give in to temptation?

I really liked these two! They were both very relatable characters with very relatable problems that they had to overcome. This love story had a bit of everything… drama, emotion, love and humour. I was laughing throughout the book!

Highly recommend reading this book!

Thank you Valentine PR & Samantha Chase for an eARC of Irresistible Love!

I was excited to read this book since being introduced to the main characters, Lily Montgomery & Noah Wylder, in A Merry Montgomery Christmas back in November! While I hadn’t read all of the other Montgomery Brothers books, I liked the idea of getting a look at one of their daughter’s love stories.

I absolutely LOVED Noah & felt he had some good development over the course of the story. He acknowledged why he felt the way he did about himself due to events from his past & became more aware of what he wanted his future to look like.

Unfortunately I can’t say the same for Lily as I could not connect to or love her as a character quite as much. While she did seem to come around and recognize how privileged she was, she still felt very immature/spoiled/overly stubborn throughout the story & didn’t grow as much as I wished she would.

I did enjoy their connection with each other & felt they did have chemistry! It felt a little insta love-y but overall I did like their love story. I just think I would have liked this book more if I connected more with Lily.

I will certainly continue the series, especially since it’s following Noah’s family! He has two brothers who will be the MMCs in the next two books.

„For one night, he allowed himself to have this connection to a vibrant and beautiful woman—the kind of connection he’d never felt with anyone before and had a feeling he never would again.“

am i the only one who’s really weirded out by the fact that she stalks her grandpa?

this does not work for me. i’m not a third pov hater when it's well written, but i don't like it here. also the constant switch in the chapters is just confusing. you can‘t even feel the slightest connection to the characters and i don't like the writing style itself.

This was such a fun secret romance. We follow Lily Montgomery and one of her families co-workers Noah Wylder. After a kiss 3 years ago on the Montgomery’s Christmas vacation, I knew these two would end up falling for each other and couldn't wait to dive into their story.

I enjoyed it! It was fun, had a few heartbreaking moments as well as some drama... and it wouldn't be a Montgomery story with out meddling in the relationship. 😂

It was a good time and would definitely recommend picking this up.

Lily & Noah kiss x 3 years ago, which had her family in an uproar about it. Noah worked (and still works) for her families financial firm & they were upset to say the least.

Fast forward to current time, Lilly is a dancer and hurts her hip and needs to have a surgery. So she decides to go back home, only to realize her entire family is away on different vacations except her grandpa.

She goes to see her grandpa, at his office, and runs into Noah. And then they end up seeing each other again in multiple different places, which then leads to them spending more time together, alone.

And this is how their reconnection starts.

*****

I did enjoy the story but it fell a little flat to me. The characters were not as developed as I would have liked and Lily was annoying throughout. From not listening to docs, to following her grandfather around secretly, to family name dropping. She was not my fav character.

However I did enjoy Noah’s sweet personality, though he is a bit of a pushover and works way too much.

Lily the Montgomery princess and Noah the Montgomery employee meet again! Lily is determined to continue dancing after an almost career-ending injury. Her doctor is pushing her to have surgery but Lily is hesitant. Lily moves back to Charlotte, NC to meet with her parents and to see if she can get other opinions regarding her injury. Noah is working to take on more responsibilities at work, despite the constant glares he receives from Ethan, Lily's father. Of course, we can't forget William and his matchmaking ways. Love the inclusion of their family members throughout the story. This was a great start to the Wylder series and I look forward to reading about Noah's brothers, Simon and Jax.

Unfortunately, this was my second DNF this month.
I felt no connection to the 3rd person, closed door, slightly immature romance happening here.
I tried giving it an open mind, pushing myself because I’m trying to expand the books I bring into my world, but this wasn’t worth it to finish.
There was a lot of telling, not showing that did not keep any of my attention. And the conflict was a bit childish and unnecessary.

Lily is a dancer who recently injured her hips, devastated she went back to her parent’s home to figure out her next step. There she reunited with Noah, the employee of her family’s business who she had a crush on and a little kiss with 3 years ago. With the close proximity, their feelings resurfaced, but Noah is very reluctant to go after her, as her dad has been hostile toward him since he found out about their little affairs 3 years ago. How long he can fight his feelings when he always finds Lily to be irresistible….?

This was a very simple small-town romance between a dancer and the guy who worked for her family’s business. They sneak around because the dad doesn’t approve for no good reason, so that was annoying. I find Lily to be a very unlikable heroine, very immature, selfish, and judgy. I seriously cannot find anything to like about her, Noah though? He’s perfect, I love him and he deserves so much more than Lily. The only thing I don’t like about him is probably why he’s still so into Lily when even his brother and mom told him they were probably not right for each other (stubborn much?)

Of course, it’s a good quality in a MMC, but at least gave something redeemable for the heroine to deserve such devotion. Cause even until the end, HE is the one who chases after her! And this was way too long for such a simple story, I don’t get why it had the grandpa’s side storyline, I’m more interested in more of Noah’s brothers. Luckily the narrator doing an amazing job, so overall I did have a good time listening to this.

They kissed on New Year's Eve three years ago and neither of them has forgotten about it even though they have not seen each other since. Now suddenly Lily is back in town and popping up everywhere while getting deeper under Noah's skin. He's focused on his future and she is equally focused on hers, but their plans may have to be altered if they can get out of their own way and see what is right in front of them. This sweet romance is the absolute perfect opposites attract and a lesson in how making plans needs to be done, but also allow room for adjustments to the plan. This series is a fun read that allows you to get to know the Montgomery family so for optimal enjoyment you should go back and start with the first Montgomery family book, although this book is written in a manner that you would enjoy it without all the backstories. You will just enjoy it more with the backstories filled in as then you will feel like you are visiting old friends rather than reading a book!

Lily is the outgoing dancer girl. Noah is the nerdy numbers guy. They had a kiss 3 years ago on a Christmas vacation. Neither of them thought much of it until they ran into each other at her family’s financial office.

Lily Montgomery is a dancer and as she was trying out for a new cheer team, she injured her hip. Now she’s not supposed to dance and the doctor suggested getting a surgery done to fix it. Lily doesn’t want to have the surgery done because there isn’t a guarantee that she’ll be back to her normal self. So she decides to go home and get another opinion.

Noah Wylder is an accountant at The Montgomery firm and he’s been trying to work his way up in the world. He has came from a poor family and he doesn’t want to be in that poverty level again. He has a strict plan so he is financially stable and he has to have his life go a certain way.

I really loved reading about Lily and Noah. I loved their love story and the problems they each had to overcome. I was also laughing multiple times during this book. This story does not have any on page spice but the book it does have parts that insinuate spice. Which is nice to have that same romance feel but not actually having to read it if you don’t like that. For me I do not mind it and I still really enjoyed the book.

This one is a hit! Great start to a new series by Samantha Chase! I loved every page of this story! Lily and Noah will win your heart! 5 Wylder stars for this one!
Lily is a dancer. She's danced in different things, and on her bucket list is a Dolphins cheerleader, and she's killing it at auditions, that is until she falls and she's out. She doesn't like the fact that she needs surgery, she just wants back in now, surgery later. So licking her wounds, she heads back home to see her family. But they're all on a month long journey courtesy of her grandpa, and to top it off, her parents home is being redone, and grandpa sticks her in the guest house because he's "having work done on his home also". What a welcome home surprise! But Noah is there, they shared a kiss on New Years Eve three years ago, and he's been paying the price with her dads side eye glares ever since. But there is an attraction there, and when her grandfather is acting strange, she enlists the help of Noah to help her investigate!
This story has it all, and you will fall in love with these two characters! Don't miss out on this new series, grab it asap!

Irresistible Love consumed me for a full day. I couldn’t put it down! If you like
✨Second Chance
✨Slow Burn
✨Opposites Attract
then definitely pick it up!

Lily and Noah shared a kiss three years ago which caused a rift in her family. Now she’s back in town to take a break from her dancing career and it’s not all that she was expecting. Noah has tried hard to move up in his career while staying under the radar, especially after almost ruining his career three years ago. When they see each other again, it’s hard to forget what they shared before. Spending time together has proven that the chemistry is still there. This love story is so cute, and had a little bit of everything I love in it!

I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook. I was hooked from the first chapter. Lily is heading from a hip injury and is looking for the best medical option so that she can get back to her dance career. She comes back to her hometown to recuperate, and runs into Noah. Noah is trying to avoid Lilly at all costs. Not only did they kiss that one time on New Year's, but she is also the bosses daughter. They try their best to not repeat their kiss, but their attraction is too deep. I loved the protagonists, their character development was very relatable and the plot was simple and sweet. This is a closed door romance with fade to black themes.

Narration was well done by Amy McFadden, but I wish there was a male narrator as well.

It’s been a while since I’ve read a Samantha Chase book and this one just reminded me of all the reasons I love her books. It’s such a sweet story with well developed characters that you just fall in love with. I can’t wait to see where she takes Lily and Noah in future books in this series. The narrator, Amy McFadden, was great to listen to tell the story.
