Introduction to Electric Circuits, 9th Edition

Rate this book
Known for its clear problem-solving methodology and its emphasis on design, as well as the quality and quantity of its problem sets, Introduction to Electric Circuits, 9e by Svoboda and Dorf will help you teach students to “think like engineers.” Abundant design examples, design problems, and the “How Can We Check” feature illustrate the text’s focus on design. The 9th edition continues the expanded use of problem-solving software such as PSpice and MATLAB. The 9th edition also includes 140 new problems and 30 new examples, while learning objectives have also been added to each chapter and section.

I completed this textbook after taking two circuits classes. I found this textbook was generally good—it covered most topics that are likely to be encountered in introductory circuits courses and some additional material. The problems were good and there were plenty of them to practice on, albeit a few with mistakes. The explanations were generally decent, but mostly non-rigorous; engineering students rejoice, physics students despair.
