Queen of the Undying

Rate this book
Two hearts will fray the bindings of prophecy.

With her dreams of returning home reduced to ash, Aliza has no choice but to remain in the magical and deadly world of Neath, a fate made easier by the newly forged bond drawing her ever closer to the fae prince. The promise of romance isn’t the only thing on the horizon; war is inescapable, and embracing her predestined role as the Human Queen is her only hope of saving the world, but it comes at a cost. Him.

For centuries, Idris has existed in darkness and despair, but now, light has broken through the clouds of his curse. Though the truth is a heavy burden to bear, if he can unravel his past lies and place his trust in fate, a bright and beautiful future awaits. But threats to that future lurk in every shadow, including those dwelling within.

With whispers of ancient monsters stirring in the forgotten depths of the world, the realms of the living and the undead must unite against a common foe. Aliza and Idris are ensnared in a tapestry of deception and trickery, where one whispered truth could cost them much more than their lives. The fate of the world hangs by a thread, and the path to victory is treacherous. But so is a star-crossed heart…

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC for this book and I am so grateful. This is definitely one of the best series I have ever read… the character development, the twists, my sheer hatred of Anwir it is just amazing

Aliza’s bravery is commendable and her adaptability to this new life she has been given and her way of seeing the bigger picture to help her people new and old. I love the relationship with Idris as it feels so natural but oh my god I love Jacques. He is the perfect relief sometimes and his loyalty to Aliza and keeping her safe. And the ending …. I don’t even know what to say

Overall just wow

Re read on 8th September and I adore it even more second time round. It just gets more perfect everytime you read it. I still absolutely adore Jacques and Anwir I hate with every fibre of my being I feel tricked that he seems to have some redeeming qualities for them to be rudely stolen in the worst way possible

Amazing sequel to Prince of the Tower.
It's another enchanting journey of fierce characters, swoony romance, heartbreaking choices, passion, betrayals and destiny.
I loved seeing a deeper insight into all the characters, you get to explore their flaws and vulnerabilities, but also their willingness to fight and sacrifice for their loved ones, particularly Aliza.
This was a rollercoaster of action, twists, lust, regret and sorrow.
I'm glad we got to see more of Jacques as well and he gained his redemption, the twins were giving me serious anxiety with their poor life choices and frustrating decisions.
Aliza has had so much happen to her in a short time, and it's empowering to see her rise to every challenge and her compassion for everyone and everything around her.
I am shook by the ending!!
This is definitely a romantasy series you need to read. Impatiently awaiting book 3.

👑 "You are quite the distraction, mortal"
"And you're not a bad kisser, for a fossil"

👑"I want you to know that there isn't a soul, living or dead, who could outshine you. You exist in nobody's shadow"

👑"You are a brave little rainbow, trying to chase away every cloud"

👑"I'd rather die somewhere I'm loved than live where I'm not"

👑"Be a good boy and keep your hands to yourself, or I'll burn you to fucking ash. Now, take me to your King"

👑"My love for you is undying, I hope you know that"

I absolutely adore this author and series.
I love Aliza's character - her development and character arc is awesome.
I love how much she has learnt and overcame from the first book - the twist around magic was also really good. Idris is my favourite and their relationship is beautiful, but Anwir is such a snake.
I love the whole world and the story.
The plot is well thought out, with enough twists to keep it really interesting.
Aliza's narration is great, and her sense of humour and sarcasm is brilliant, really enjoy her attitude towards everything. My only complaint is that I have to wait for the next book!

I loved the first book in this series and didn't think I could love this one more. I love the growth in the characters and their relationships. I loved the strength and determination of Aliza and how supportive Idris and Aliza are of each other. I actually read the book twice prior to writing a review. I wanted to be able to give a fantastic review however I don't think there are enough words. Aimee has a beautiful captivating style. Book 2 is now my favorite however I am already looking forward to book 3. One of my favorite new series. Perfection 🥰

Thank to the author for this ARC.

Chapter 12 - Aliza is hilarious!!😂😂
Chapter 14 - OMG! The way I GASPED.
Chapter 22 - oh, my heart.
Chapter - 29 - HOLY SPICE

The ice skating scene!!! This made me SO HAPPY.

‘You are a brave little rainbow, trying to chase away every cloud.’ 🥺🥺

Aliza is possibly one of my favourite FMC ever. She is so sassy & such a vibe. The language from her 😂😂 savage!! Oh and the hair situation! Book 1’s ending SOLD the whole book for me & wanted me to keep reading for this one & I am so glad I did! Her hair is important!! I get it girl we gotta shine!!🤣 The whole development for each character was impressive! I still dislike our other brother though, if ya know🤣

I love how we got a bit of everything from
the spice, to the world building & so much action with twists & turns?! In the first book of this series, I struggled at first to get into it but oh boy I am so glad I stuck it out. This story is worth it.

THE ENDING!! So what happens next?! I need answers. I am so excited for book 3 now! I need to know what happens🤫💜

I was given the opportunity to read this as an ARC, thank you Aimee!

It is a perfect sequel with more action and spice then the first book.

Keywords: Fantasy; Romance; The chosen one; Fae; Vampires; Witches; Adventure; Politiques; Magic; Emotional; Mystery; Secrets; Betrayal.

The story starts exactly where the first book ended; where Aliza visits her parents to let them know she is alive. It was an emotional and fun start of the book.

I enjoyed watching Aliza transform into an even more incredible person. She is such an amazing character, her bravery and the purity of her soul is magnificent.

I really liked that we got to see more of everyone's powers and their usage, more action and world-building. The vampires for example are getting more involved now.

I love the relationship development between Aliza and Idris. I adore both of them so much and they are so cute! It is a bumby ride but it makes it even more interesting.
The spice in this book is really good! It has 2 major scenes and I loved them, well written! Just wow!

Eventho this story has a lot of emotional, dark and tense moments, it also had some fun, light-hearted and cute scenes.
I really enjoyed the ice skating chapter, it was so adorable!

My hatred towards Anwir has gotten worse. He should just go rot in a dungeon imo haha.

There were some unexpected plottwists at the end which made it so more exciting.
This book made me cry during the last 2 chapters! This just shows how invested and connected I am with the story and the characters. I really loved it and I can't wait to read the third book!

You did such a great job Aimee! <3

Queen of the Undying, the second book in the Wings and Whispers series, is a thrilling continuation of Aliza's journey to save the five kingdoms and claim her new rightful place as queen. The stakes are higher in this installment, with Aliza facing new challenges and dangers as she battles the wicked uncle and fights to prevent the gods from being released from their eternal entrapment.

The relationship between Aliza and Idris, the fae prince she is falling in love with, is at the heart of the story, and the spicy romance between them is ramped up in this book. Their bond is tested as they navigate the dangers and betrayals that surround them, adding an extra layer of tension to the already gripping plot.

The world-building in Queen of the Undying is exceptional, building on the strong foundation laid in the first book. The author brings the five kingdoms to life with vivid detail and rich mythology, creating a vibrant and immersive setting for the characters to inhabit.

The book is a page-turner, with the suspense and anticipation keeping readers on the edge of their seats. The cliffhanger ending leaves readers eagerly awaiting the next installment in the series, eager to see what happens next in Aliza's story.

Overall, Queen of the Undying is a fantastic follow-up to book one, with a compelling plot, engaging characters, and a richly detailed world. Fans of fantasy and romance will not be disappointed by this exciting and enthralling read.

5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book RIGHT HERE literally put me into a reading slump for DAYS after finishing. I was struggling so much to wrap my head around all the events that had happened, the emotional raw-ness that Aimee pulls out & to just find the words to put together for a  review was a struggle!! 😭😍

It is a maddening concoction of angst, betrayal, tension, lust and power. Never, have I had the urge to throw my kindle across the room so much in anticipation & frustration of the plot unraveling, in one sitting. The rollercoaster of emotions this romantasy will take you on is both thrilling & nail-biting!!

After the end results from Book 1, Prince of the Tower, our FMC Aliza takes on a whole new journey with her life and the struggle to find her place in the fae world. Just when you think things are going good, Aimee RIPS the carpet out from under your feet - secrets unravel left to right, boundaries are pushed and trust in those around her is tested.

This is the absolutely one of the best fairytale inspired Romantasy books I've read and it takes on its own amazing & thrilling twists. This has everything in an NA/Adult version fairy tale that I needed!! The action & anticipation in every chapter never slowed down or dragged out for me and kept me glued to the page.

I love the fairytale mix of fae, crowned prince's, love, vampires, witches, prophecies, self-discovery, magic portals and evil villains. Aliza is such a fierce & strong character and Ive loved her development throughout the last two books. I enjoyed getting to see both her weaker, emotional side and her fierce, powerful queen edge. Idris, the MMC, is both amazing & frustrating. You want to smack him A LOT for the things he does but he does them for a reason. He's damaged, flawed & been hurt too many times but he is gorgeously fierce, swoon-worthy and secretly the golden retriever type!!

Omg what can I say this book was just amazing. After reading the first book I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book to be released and will be now again for the third one ... Thank you, Aimee.

I won't have spoilers in my review I hope, but read with caution nonetheless if you haven't started the series yet or haven't read this book.

Aliza as we follow her journey, grows as a person, she is a fearlessly loyal person and always wants to help people.

The characters in this book have grown on me even more, but sorry Anwir I still hate you (sorry not sorry) Jaques was very charming again and I loved him for his loyalty to Aliza and being her friend. Idris and Aliza’s relationship seems so easy, yes he made a few mistakes to try and protect her but he has the best intentions and loves her with all he has.

That ending though I didn’t see coming !

There are twists and turns in this book that leaves you guessing about what is going to come next. And I’m so excited for the next book 🩷

Good grief! I thought the first book took me for quite the adventure. Well, said adventure very much just keeps on going in this one! Aliza is back, with Princes Anwir and Idris, as well as various witches, and her vampire friend Jacques in tow. This book carries on from where the first book (Prince of the Tower) ended, so it is advised to read that one first. The Princes have been awoken, however their evil uncle is still a threat. We follow this lot as they find their way through various challenges sent their way. Aliza, the ever pragmatic and feisty heroine, leading them all. New alliances are made, and old friendships are tested. This had me not wanting to put it down, just so I could see what happened next. Now I want the 3rd and final book in the trilogy, so I can see how it all ends!!! Finally, this story line has a slow burn romance between Aliza and Idris. Nothing much happens between them in the first book, however things really get going in this book. The wait is well worth it.

Another book written by Aimee that I give 5 ⭐️. Aimee is one of my favorite authors.

The predecessor to Queen of the Undying, was the first book I read that she has published. I have a couple of books that I have to read first but I will buy other books that she has written.

Both books are so amazing. The way they are written, the building of the world, the plot, all the characters. Some you like and others you like less. 😊

I love Idrias and Aliza's bond that they share. The kind of love and validation they can get from feeling each other's feelings is something I wish existed outside the realm of fantasy.

The book ends with another cliffhanger. Hope everything will be fine. I had gotten some inkling of what was going to happen at the end and read as fast as I could to see what really happened. In a way, I'm glad it ended this way, and not the way I thought. But the ending is so sad and I like Anwir less now than before.
Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to join your team.

I was lucky enough to receive an arc copy of this beautifully written book, I loved Queen of the Undying so much that I had it on pre-order ready for release day.
Aimee did a brilliant job writing this book. The world building is phenomenal. I love that we have the real human world as we know it in 2024, but just a step through the hidden portal is this magical realm full of fae, vampires, and witches, to name a few.
You'll meet a book full of well developed characters. Aliza with an A is one of the best FMC I've encountered. She's so relatable. Her relationship with Idris takes on some spice (you won't be disappointed). I was thrilled to read more of Jaques in this book. He's the one we're supposed to be wary of but can't help loving him.
Overall, Queen of the Undying is fabulous! It is a great storyline with immaculate detail built into the world and characters. Prepare yourself for a rollercoaster of emotions and one hell of a cliffhanger!

What an exceptional read again! Little longer to read due to personal circumstances.
The writing style is dyslexic friendly I advise a kindle to help with words that are a little more difficult.
What an amazing opportunity to be Aimee’s ARC reader for a second time.
The descriptive wording is so filling I can see the book in my mind. I love so many of the lines Aliza spits out. I am laughing hard and smiling from ear to ear, shock and fear gripping me and sadness and betrayal in my heart. I connect with the main characters and feel their emotions through the words. What a gripping book!
What an overwhelming ending of a cliffhanger! I am sitting on the edge of my seat.
I am really enjoying the continued relationships, the progress and new friendships created and trust me this book is worth every single page!
The growth of the FMC and the juicy oh so juicy spice!
I think the MMC’s growth and internal battle is written very well and keeps us guessing.
A Must Read!

Queen of the Undying is the second book in the Wings and Whispers series, and boy, does it live up to expectations, and then some.

The first book, Prince of the Tower, introduced a brand-new world when Aliza, future veterinarian, fell through a portal into a world full of witches, vampires and fae. Queen of the Undying dives deeper into this world and its rich history and lore. It's full of twists that will make you gasp, shout and laugh (wait until you see what she has in store for the vampires!)

And the romance... listen, I love a morally grey MMC as much as the next girl, but Clinton gives us the grumpy but secretly teddy bear MMC you didn’t know you needed. And the slow burn friends-to-lovers finally catches fire and burns HOT.

With a cast of characters that'll make you laugh, swoon and rage in equal measure, rich lore, and twists that'll keep you coming back for more, Queen of the Undying is romantasy at its best.

I still love Aliza! She is such a relatable character and her constant struggle to adjust to her new life is both refreshing and funny.

Aliza isn’t alone on her quest to fulfill her destiny as the loveable side characters from the first book (and the not so loveable… looking at you Sage) are there to help her.

For me, Jacques will forever be the love interest (my love interest). He steals the show and I could just lock him in my basement and keep him forever! If you loved Spike from Buffy but wanted him to be a little less murdery, then prepare to fall for Jacques… don’t fight it.

The plot thickens and we uncover more secrets buried by time.

The slow burn finally pays off in this book and it was well worth the wait! But of course, Clinton gives and takes. Just when we think everything is going well, the plot twists and we’re thrown into shadows and blood. The ending will have you desperate to pick up the next book!

ARC REVIEW

Hello again Indris my love. Oh god, I had forgotten how perfect is that fae prince.

I loved the first book but this one I loved more. The fights, the intimate scenes and Jacques.Oh mon Dieu that vampire is the best. Aliza struggles with the new reality and I really feel sorry for her. Indris isn't so grumpy as he was in the first book and Jacques is perfect.
The first book didn't had spice scenes but this one has. This book like the first ends in cliffhanger and I don't know how to feel about this. My poor heart broke when I read the last chapters. How am I supposed to wait until the next book?

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

First, let me just say a huge thank you to Aimee for an eARC of this book!

Y'ALL, THIS SEQUEL WAS SO GOOD!!

Usually second books in a series are just "okay," however, this sequel was absolutely amazing. I was so hooked on this story, especially after the cliffy in the previous book, and I could not wait to see what would happen to our dear Aliza and the people of Neath.

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the character development in this one, and I think Aimee hit this one out of the park!

I am *patiently* waiting for book three to come out, and cannot wait to see how this story continues.

If you enjoy any of the below, you may like this book/series:
- Fairy tale retellings (Sleeping Beauty)
- Fae, Witches, Vampires
- Magical Prophecies & Curses
- Slow-burn romance

It’s not often that a sequel can hold it’s own against the first book, but this was infact so much better!

Aliza really comes alive in this book, trying to navigate her new life, friendships & budding relationships can be tricky.. especially alongside finding out that she is now an heir to a throne of five kingdoms!
The development of many characters balancing with the world-building and the storyline is amazing, you’ll be stuck in and unable to tear yourself away.
The romance in this story is exceptional, and builds nicely on the slowburn from the first book, you’ll really be rooting for them throughout the book.

The ending was SUCH a cliffhanger, and will leave you desperate for the next book!

Aimee has done it again.

This book was so so good, I felt really immersed in the journey and connected more to Aliza and Idris through the dual pov. I love them together and I saw the mate trope coming! They’re perfect for eachother.

I also love Jacques character and how much he cares for Aliza and has her back despite the long feud between the vampires and the fae. I also love the mix of modern world elements with a fae fantasy storyline.

The ending had me wrecked and now I need to read the next book. Aliza is so head strong and clever and I love how she isn’t some ditsy, damsel in distress that a lot of fmc’s are made to be. It’s refreshing.

I highly recommend this series to anyone who is looking for something different in the fantasy genre!

A fantastic sequel to Prince of the Tower. It had the right amount of suspense and action and the interactions between the characters was well written and balanced.

This series is a really good twist on the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale and the world is well built.

I really like all the different races of people depicted - it was a great idea to mix fae, vampires, humans and witches and of course flying horses.

There is some spice too but well balanced with the story.

I can't wait for book 3, it is going to be fantastic!

Thanks to the author for an ARC copy of this book.

I loved the first one, but this sequel is unmatched! The slow burn between Idris and Aliza was perfect and the twist was so unexpected. The romance and angst between Idris and Aliza is what I live for, and it was perfectly captured. Also, is it possible to hate Anwir even more than I already do? Aliza’s development in her new life circumstances was great, and I really feel like the author captured those gut wrenching realizations for her that her old life is over. I feel so lucky to have ARC read both of these books. I have recommended them to family and friends and I will continue to do so!

This book - if this doesn't go viral on booktok, everyone is missing out!
Sequel to "Prince of the Tower", Queen of the Undying is a gripping adventurous fantasy romance, full of twists, turns, amazing characters, steamy romance and incredible incredible narration (yes, I meant to write INCREDIBLE twice!!!). I absolutely devoured this book, there was not a minute where I found it was lacking pace. The characters arc is incredible, the heartbreak is HEARTBREAKING and I can't absolutely wait to read the next book!

I loved this book! I was so excited to see what path lay ahead for Aliza and I was not disappointed. So much love, heartbreak and growth happened for Aliza and Idris. I’m also still swooning for Jacques, and I still cannot stand Anwir! The spice was definitely worth the slow burn from book 1. This story is easy to follow and has some really wonderful parts that had me smiling and kicking my feet! Fantasy and romance fill the pages and if that’s your bag you should definitely read it.

Thank you so much to the author Aimee Clinton for an eARC of your amazing story!

When I tell you I couldn’t put this book down! I’d already fallen in love with the characters from the first book but now I’m obsessed! I cannot stop thinking about this series and can’t wait for book 3. I’ll do a spoiler free review.
Following on from the second book Aliza with an A is learning how to live in her new world with tonnes of twists and turns that had me shouting at one point! Idris is still sexy and brooding and turns the spice level up in this book!
Thank you Aimee for writing this amazing book with such a strong FMC in more ways than one.
