Why won’t sharks attack lawyers? Professional courtesyHave you ever had one of those horrible weeks at work? Cruise director Kennedy Reeves is in the middle of one. After an epic sail-away party, the passengers look like the walking dead the following day. Are they hungover or is there something more sinister afloat? There’s also an attorney conference with a very special meeting planner and a dead body in the hot tub. The lawyers haven’t sued anyone in a week, and while they are enjoying the legalese cocktails (recipes included) at the pool bar, their teeth are beginning to gnash. Kick back with a Subpoena Colada and join Kennedy while she navigates the crystal blue waters of the Caribbean in a cozy cruise culinary mystery you can sink your teeth into.

A convention of lawyers on a cruise ship with an abundance of alcohol, what could go wrong? Kennedy Reeves would find out in this novel that includes a death, a disappearing passenger and plenty of interesting characters and family dysfunction. I thought the author did a good job of developing a rather large cast of interesting characters.
While each book in this series is very good you will want to read the entire series for the most enjoyment, and then you will want more. Very entertaining!
- 1st 200 pages were slow and didn’t have much going on AT ALL. - the last 130 pages were SO GOOD & entertaining. - takes place on a cruise ship, would be a cute summer read !
I have three youngish kids at home and stayed up until the wee hours of the morning to finish this. That should tell you how much I liked this book. Honestly, I was holding my breath waiting for a murder that never happened because for some reason I thought this was a murder mystery. Don’t be like me. Also, I didn’t know this was the fourth of a series so I definitely missed out on a lot of background which made me sad so now I have to read the others to catch up!
Not the worst book I’ve ever read but also not the best. There were a ton of different plots and characters that it was hard to follow along. Took me forever to finish the book. After finishing it I found out that it was the 4th book of a series. Not sure if they connect or not, wondering if it would’ve made it easier to follow if I read them in order.
This was one of the worst, boring books I’ve ever read! I forced myself to finish it. The story was lost in all the chitchat, which seemed to take up 90% of the book.
