I’ve only ever loved one woman.

Juliet Capelli.

Her last name made her the one woman I couldn’t have. Our families have generations of bad blood between them—and she’s on the wrong side of the feud.

Until one night she ends up right where I’ve always wanted her—tangled up in my bedsheets.

Fifteen years ago, young and naïve, we tempted fate, sneaking around and making forever promises.

But fate had other plans, tearing us apart. To save her from her toxic family, I pushed her away, out of our small town. Then I hid out on my family’s ranch with the horses, nursing a broken heart.

Now she’s back and I can’t seem to stay away from her curves, her beguiling eyes, her sassy mouth.

Just sliding back into my sheets won’t be enough to win her heart and convince her to give us a second chance. It’s going to take one helluva grovel, that’s for sure.

And the same feud that kept us apart still runs deep, threatening to destroy us all.

With everyone against us, I only hope the sins of the past can be undone.

Where do I start? Almost a one day read, my favorite tropes: second chances, small town, I wanted to hug Juliet and King. My heart was undone, and emotions unraveled as I read what I knew was there from previous books but not the details. We knew Juliet had helped King's family, despite the family feud. But she was fighting more for her independence from her family.

As Juliet returns to town, will she and King work through the pain of the past and give in to this second opportunity? My heart and emotions were given a workout, but in the end, the heartbreak was worth it and part of the journey.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

I wanted to love this book so much because I mean look at the cover of it! It is so pretty. But sadly this book was not for me. Juliet and King were together when they were in their younger to mid 20s and got pregnant. They then lost the baby and King pushed Juliet away. It's now 15 years later and King and Juliet are back in the same town and start to run into each other. We get to see Juliet have a lot of anger towards King due to their past, and with that in mind I thought King would really have to work to get another chance with her. That wasn't the case. It upset me when they talked about who the other had been with during the 15 years apart and King had the audacity to be upset that Juliet slept with 2 people the whole 15 years after he pushed her away after a traumatic experience.

We then get to really meet King's family and I immediately did not like Poppy. How she talked about Juliet (in front of her whole family and Juliet) was so rude and it was all because of who her family is. So right from the start I was not a fan. I think King kind of stood up for Juliet, but he should have put Poppy in her place ASAP. I also think Poppy just has to whine about something.

The subplot of the book was King and his siblings finding out they have a half sister and King goes off to find her and just see who she is. At first I thought this was interesting, but I think it just took up way to much time in the book.

I think this whole book spans like a week if I understood it right. So a week of them being back together and they already have a huge blowup about how King handles his emotions (their problem 15 years ago). Later that same night King comes back to say sorry and just that he will try to work on it. That's it. No groveling or anything like that. A let down. Also Poppy making another appearance and acting like a total B was so uncalled for and made me hate her.

To me this book would have been better if we took out most of the sex scenes and put in scenes that had the two characters actually reconnecting after all those years apart. I also thought they both acted really young for their age. There needed to be more to their relationship than just good sex. I felt like they really only had a physical relationship and they didn't really get connected deeper than that. Or at least we didn't really get to experience that with them.

Overall I think the storyline was good, but I just couldn't get connected with the main characters and I think that just made me not so invested in the book. I think I might have enjoyed it more if I read the other books in the series first to learn more about the other characters and a little more backstory. It was a really quick and easy book to read. There seem to be more people that love the book than are not a big fan of it so I might just be an outlier here. I would be interested in trying another book from this author to try again.

🔥🔥🔥 - 5 spicy scenes, moderate details

[ thank you @valentine_pr_ for the eARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own! ]

Read if you like:
•grumpy cowboy/rancher
•second chance
•forbidden love
•star-crossed lovers
•romeo & juliet vibes

“I’m happy to be your ride or die, King. Always.”

This couple. Whew. It was spicy, filled with angst, and the second chance romance between them? So good. I loved seeing them make their way back to each other, trusting (& loving) the other person again after 15 years apart.

This can be read as a standalone. It gives you hints of other couples and the feuding drama between the two families which left me wanting to go and read books 1-3 now.

I did wish King groveled a little bit longer to win Jules back at the end. He broke her heart once years ago and they let a little fight really break them up? I just wanted to shake that grumpy cowboy at times!! But their happily ever after was so sweet — the proposal and then the epilogue. I was happy for them. 🥰

Overall, I enjoyed this novel! I’ll be looking forward to reading more by this author in the future.

I wanted to love this one - it has two of my favorite tropes (second chance and another I won’t mention so as not to give spoilers). But it didn’t work for me for the following reasons:
Multiple instances of forgiveness being given with very little effort in exchange
A hero and heroine who act, behave, and have internal thoughts like they’re still in their early 20s (like they were when their relationship first went down)
Two side plots that added very little to the story - the discovery of a half-sister, and the heroine’s antagonist brothers (who were played more as slapstick villains than actual bad guys)
And a hero who is still making the same mistakes as a 40 year old as he did when he was 25

This was my first Kara Kendrick book and I suspect she may not be an author for me…

This novel focuses on King and Juliet who were lovers in the past and run into one another again once Juliet has arrived back into town fifteen years later. Both of them are not prepared for their encounter and instantly are not happy to see one another, or work to tell themselves that. They quickly try to fight what they feel for one another, but are they able to resist one another? This book had so many good tropes and felt very realistic! I absolutely loved this novel and would definitely reread it! I’m going to have to purchase a copy of my own! I was blessed to have been able to read an advanced readers copy!

Undone By Kara Kendrick was a sweet second chance small town romance with a touch of angst and a bit of suspense. It's a contemporary take on Romeo and Juliet. King is closed off and brooding and grumpy while Juliet is full of love and sass even when her life is hard.

Seaglass native King Montgomery has a shock of his lifetime when his path collides with his once upon a time love of the life Juliet Capelli. She is back in town and this collision proves that their connection is still there. And so are their family rivalry, her criminal brothers, their tragic past, King's mistakes and so much more. Can Juliet trust King again?

I loved Juliet so much. She had a sad and hard life since she was a kid. The addict mother, the abusive brothers who are evil and ruthless..and her secret love affair with King was her escape. Her happy place. Until it wasn't. Fifteen years ago..they suffered a loss and it destroyed them both. King pushed her away as he couldn't deal with the guilt and grief and he assumed it's best for her to escape the small town. She fought her own battles and even now she is fighting for both of them. I admire her strength and her resilience and her big heart. King is still lost. He has a big loving family to fall back on. But he still had a hard time letting Juliet in even when he was saying the right words. But he did learn from his mistakes and made Juliet happy.

I expected the resolution of their unsaid trauma and anger and bitterness and pain would be a core point here but it wasn't. They decided to give each other second chance pretty early in the story after meeting fifteen years later. The subplot of King's newly found half sister took up a lot of the space. While the road trip created an opportunity for King and Juliet to know each other again..it didn't feel natural. Her brothers were Painted as these great villains but the way King dealt with them easily was a bit anticlimactic.

Thank you to Valentine PR and Kara Kendrick for an early review copy of the latest installment in the Seaglass Beach series.

I solely wanted to read this because of the cover. I mean how freakin’ gorgeous is it?!

This is an interconnected standalone so it was easy to follow despite it being the last in this specific series. I liked the story overall, but I felt like there were a lot of things unfinished or unanswered. Like they would be brought up, and then never resolved. One of the things I’m referring to is specific in this story and it felt like it was a random plot line that really had no destination, which I was kind of bummed about.

I really did like Juliet and King. I liked the various tropes that they represented. I like hearing their back story and watching them go through real life battles that come with relationships. It made it feel authentic, which I really appreciated.

I did feel like there wasn’t really a conflict in this one, which is good and bad at the same time. I think it was done okay, but the resolution seemed too abrupt. I wanted a little more growth.

I loved King’s siblings. They were hilarious and added a lot to the story. It was clear how important family was to King and I liked that.

Overall this wasn’t a bad story. It was sweet and I liked how realistic it seemed, I just wish that there had been a little bit more.

It was my first time reading a Kara Kendrick book, and I really enjoyed it. You can read this on its own. It hints at other couples and their rivalries.

While Juliet, despite her difficult circumstances, is full of love and sass, King is grumpy, brooding, and closed off. I loved Juliet. I respect her for her bravery, determination, and big heart. I liked Juliet and King a lot.

The drama in this second-chance romance was fairly mild, and King should be to have made a big effort to win Juliet back, in my opinion. However, the proposal, they're happy ever after, and the epilogue were all really lovely. I felt happy for them.

Although I thought the story was good overall, there seemed to be a lot of loose ends or unsolved questions. I’ll be looking forward to reading more by this author in the future.

Thank you Valentine PR and Kara Kendrick for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

5 Star review Undone (Seaglass Beach #4) by Kara Kendrick
I love small town romance and Kara Kendrick has an affinity for this genre. This is the fourth book in the series and is Juliet Capelli and King Montgomery’s story and it was a good addition to the Seaglass Beach series.

Having met King before I could not wait to see what Ms. Kendrick had in store for him in this second chance at love story. I will say that there are some memories that may be a trigger for some so please be aware.
Their families have been at odds for many years and yet the attraction and connection between Juliet and King is as strong as ever.

The characters were easy to relate to and engaging. Will they be able to stand the pressure the second time around? Will love conquer all?

This romance pulled me in from the very first pages and had me rooting for their happy ending. Undone is the fourth book in the Seaglass Beach series and it’s a swoony second chance, feuding family, forbidden romance. Filled with emotion and forgiveness, I was fully on board with Juliet and King’s love story. I love a grumpy, sunshine pairing and King is the perfect mix of emotionally available and protective, broody hero. The connection between Juliet and King was spicy and genuine and King’s complete commitment to loving her was seriously heart-melting.

Back in town after 15 years away, Juliet is the sweet little sister of the abusive and trouble-making Capelli brothers. Before she left town, Juliet and King had been secret lovers, stealing kisses and time behind their families backs. Now, she’s back. Carefully unfolded, we find out the reason Juliet left town and why King has lived his solitary life on the family ranch for so long. A continuation of the overall Seaglass beach story arc, this book is best enjoyed as part of the series. 2.5 peppers/4.5 stars

New author to me. I read this book as a standalone as I was under the impression that I could. Having not read the other books I was a bit confused here and there. I didn’t understand King as much as I think I would have had I read the other 3 books. So let that be your warning.

I still liked this swoony small time romance. Some of the characters were meh. But I don’t feel right judging them just yet since I don’t have the full scope.

Going back to read the others. BRB.

King was worth the wait. His story is wonderful. He and Juliet have a past to overcome if they want a second chance. King has to really fight to put his emotions out there. I liked the way he and Juliet pushed through all the negative to find their way back to each other. The emotions are heavy in this one and there is a potential trigger so heed the warning at the beginning. There's plenty of steam to help balance the story out. Overall this was a really good read.

Amazing story that is about Juliet and King. Their families have been feuding for years. Juliet’s brothers are mean and have brought harm to King and the rest f the Montgomery family for years. What the families don’t know is that King and Juliet were a couple years ago until King convinced her to leave town to live her dreams. Now, Juliet is back in town and she keeps bumping into King. Can they have a second chance at love or will their families come between them? Great read that I didn’t want to put down. The author is great at pulling you into her stories.

I’ve been anxiously awaiting King & Juliet’s story & it did not disappoint!

King & Juliet share a past; a love story full of pitfalls & obstacles, a fued between their families & two broken hearts. Now they are given a second-change at their HEA, can they make it work?

King Montgomery is the grumpy, broody, strong, silent type, the oldest brother of a close-knit family who recently lost their parents & Juliet is a giver by nature even though she had a crappy childhood with even crappier brothers that give her grief every chance they get.

I love Seaglass Beach & now the Montgomerys have another mystery to solve involving their newly discovered half sister. We even got to check in on some of our favorites from Peachtree Grove & I look forward to Lacey’s book.

This spice & the romance in this story is top notch! A must read!

We FINALLY get to see what the heck happened to these two in the past. But once they face the past, will they even have any type of a future together? Then throw in their siblings. Some will be accepting and others will down right be evil. Loved these characters and this whole series.

This is my first book from Kara Kendrick and to be honest, I went to the story a bit blind, because I've not read the previous books from the series. But then again, I am a small-town lover, and I am glad that I've read it.

King and Juliet were former lovers. When they were young, the story of their family's feud got in the way of their love, but the most important person for that was King. He pushed her away with the hope that she could have a better life. A life that was free from her brother's. Years later, Juliet is back in town, and she keeps meeting the person who broke her heart.

This cowboy was definitely grumpy. He knew that he still loved her, but he was determined to stay out of town in order not to see her. It took her coming to his house for their romance to start again. Even though she was still angry at King, she wanted to hear the reason why he broke her heart. After the secrets are revealed, they know they want to be together again. Their love continued, like the separation never happened.

The love scenes were just a 👌. They were described really well. The chemistry between them was hot and passionate. There was so much steam 🥵🥵🥵. I loved them all.

Juliet and King's story was full of angst, lost time and love that was still there, after so many years.

There was one thing that bothered me - King's groveling to Juliet. In my opinion, he needed to do more of that, so he could make up for the years they'd lost.

Overall, I enjoyed reading "Undone".

I absolutely loved Undone an incredible small-town second chance at love story, the fourth book in her Seaglass Beach series. Kara Kendrick has shown readers that she is an amazing storyteller and is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors to read. It was impossible to put Undone down, and I loved every moment on every page. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another? I really enjoy how the book is told in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. I love how Kara Kendrick always manages to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong, sassy woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy man. Undone is filled with the heartbreaking and heartwarming moments that I have come to love and expect in a love story, and Kara Kendrick did not disappoint with the delivery, especially with the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. Undone is the story of Juliet Capelli, a waitress at Tipsy Taco, and King Montgomery, rancher. Juliet recently returned to Seaglass Beach after being away for fifteen years. Juliet and King had been in a secret relationship while in their twenties, but when she suffers a miscarriage, King convinces her to leave Seaglass Beach to get away from her brothers. The Montogomerys and the Capellis were enemies of each other because of the location of their land. King decides to head to Peachtree Grove, Georgia in search of a recently discovered half-sister, Lacey McCauliffe. Lacey wrote a letter to their late mother after learning that she was her birth mother. King asks Juliet to go with him, and their relationship starts to change. I love the when King met with Lacey, it was heartbreaking, when he revealed that their mother had died in a car accident. Conversation between Juliet and King flows so easily, with innuendos and playful banter, and Juliet constantly flirts with King. I love the heartbreaking conversation they have regarding Juliet’s miscarriage and King’s reactions following it. I love that King finally apologized to her and how he treated her. I love everything that King does for Juliet, even though his family is not happy that he is spending time with a Capelli and how he helps her stand up to her brothers. As Juliet and King begin to spend time together things change between them. I love how King reveals to his family that he had a past relationship with Juliet. I love King’s proposal and when and where it takes place, but I especially love the significance of the engagement ring. My favorite part of a Kara Kendrick love story is always the epilogues that go above and beyond the happily ever after, it is my favorite part of the story, especially the surprise that was revealed. I loved the ending of their love story! I love the characters and the family dynamic in Undone and catching up with the other characters in the series, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoy all the interactions among the Montgomery siblings, it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. Kara Kendrick’s descriptions are so real, I was right there with Juliet and King in Seaglass Beach. I loved catching up with Parker, Liv, Poppy, Griffin, Roman and Skye, it felt like a family reunion. I also really loved the characters in Peachtree Grove and will definitely be catching up with them in that series. Who does not love a family that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed Undone, who does not love a small-town second chance at love story. Highly recommend this incredible love. I received an advance copy from the author.

What I’m Starry-Eyed Over:
🤩 This cover is so gorgeous.
🤩 Second chance romance done so right, with the added forbidden nature from the rivalry between King and Juliet’s families.
🤩 The short flashbacks and those deep feelings of the past, of loss, love, longing in the reader. It also gives us that need to know feeling in the plot.
🤩 The setting—it’s so unique with the farm/ranch near the beach town. It reminds me of where I grew up, just on the other coast. Such beautiful descriptions, their special spot. Take me to Seaglass Beach.
🤩 When King talks to the animals in the barn: “Hey, boys and girls.”
🤩 Baby goats.
🤩 I appreciate some self-pleasuring in an angsty slow burn.
🤩 The apology. So much emotion once they finally talk and grieve together. That first kiss of reconciliation. King on his knees.
🤩 The social anxiety is so well written. I feel it personally and deeply.
🤩 How King uses more words in the bedroom than he does in normal life. And the words are pretty Alpha and dirty. I love how he worships and pleases Juliet.
🤩 The text chats and the phone names.

What I’m Wishing/Dizzy About:
💫 I need Ryder & Bree’s story, Rushing Into Love! I’m definitely heading back for some more Peachtree Grove.
💫 I like to love my MCs, and Juliet bugged me on the way back from Peachtree Grove. She knows him well and should be much more considerate of his personality, just needing some quiet time to process. I get that it can be frustrating, but her reaction just really rubbed me the wrong way.
💫 King and Juliet need some individual therapy and couples counseling because their hurts run deep.
💫 The suspense part is bugging me. I don’t like it hanging over my head. But I guess I believe it. I just want the Capelli brothers to somehow get what they deserve.

Trigger Warnings: “Dear Reader, this book discusses past pregnancy loss and contains a dream sequence that may be sensitive to some.” Plus, on-page mental and physical domestic abuse from brothers.

I have always wondered what Kara would write for King's book and she definitely didn't leave him down!

It had all the emotion that I thought it would have with regards to the Broody Oldest Brother and how his love life would be portrayed.

I would definitely recommend reading the other three books in the Seaglass Beach Series first as it will all make more sense to you on what has happened previously with Kings family.

King had a relationship with Juliette going back to 15 years ago. Due to something happening at that time, he decided the best thing for Juliette would be to leave her go and have a Better life than he thought she could have with him and to get away with from her 3 Brothers who were always trouble and really horrible to her.

In Kings heart this was the best thing for her but it wasn't in Juliettes and she was heartbroken over what happened and the way he treated her.

Roll on 15 years later when Juliette has had enough and decides it's time to come home. The attraction is still there between the two of them. King is a different Guy when she is around him, he calms her in a way that no one else ever could.

On her return, Juliette has problems with her 3 brothers to deal with. She doesn't mention them at first to King but he finds out about them and is really mad with the way they treat her.

Their relationship develops again eventually and I am so glad for both of them how things turn out eventually after a lot of problems, especially with Kings little Sister Pop who really is against the whole thing especially because of Juliettes last name.

A really angsty read that I loved x

Thank you Kara for bringing this family in to our lives, I personally have loved their stories!

Undone is a second chance romance that takes place 15 years after King Montgomery forced Juliet Capelli to leave town because of their feuding families and him thinking it was what she needed (why do guys always think they know best). When Juliet moves back to town, both try their best to avoid each other, as it is clear that neither one of them has been able to move on from their past together. For a 2nd chance romance, the angst was barely there because it seemed like they ended up back together instantly without any sort of discussion about what happened before. Plus, I would’ve loved to see King grovel more for Juliet’s forgiveness, considering he was the one to push her away the first time when it was a vulnerable time in their lives. I do feel their past was glossed over quickly, and I wanted to know more about them to make them feel more real to me. For the most part, this book was an easy and lighthearted read; there is a trigger warning about miscarriage, but I will say that it was handled really well and one of the most realized parts of this story that felt real.

Kara Kendrick is a new author to me, so I knew going in that this story was part of a series, but it could be read as a stand-alone, so I decided to give it a chance. There are small references to events in the series, so you’re not missing out on something by not reading the first 3 books of the Seaglass Beach series. But it did make me wonder what else happened with this family, so I added the rest of this series to my TBR list as I can’t get enough of the Montgomery family (even though I found Poppy annoying and immature). But I'd say if you want 2nd chance romance with older character, give this book a shot.

"What’s that old saying? If you love someone, let them go. If they come back to you, they’re yours. If they don’t, they never were. Guess Juliet’s mine. Because she flew back. Back to Seaglass Beach, back home. Back to me."

Undone is the 3rd book in the Seaglass Beach series by Kara Kendrix and can be read as a standalone.

Our Mc's are Juliet and King and the book jumps between two timelines, the past and the present, where we get to know what happened in the past to those two and then how they will find back to each other again. There was a lot of chemistry between the two from the very start and while they both loved each other dearly, Juliet could not so easily forget what he did or did not for her 15 years prior when she needed him the most, so he has to win back her trust. The story was really heart-warming and I felt so bad for what happened to them in the past, but if I had been Juliet I would not have forgiven King so fast. In my opinion, he really should have proved that he changed.

Will I continue the series?
I really enjoyed the book and will definitely continue the series in the future. It's perfect for the springtime, which in my opinion. is the perfect time for cowboy & small-town romances. Also, let's not forget to talk about the stunning cover, even if it didn't match with the rest of the series, which bothers me a little bit.

tropes:
- second chance
-forbidden love
- small-town
- grumpy/sunshine
- family feud
- past trauma

Okay, so this author was new to me and since this seemed like a good second chance romance, I decided to give it a try but had no idea that it was part of a series. Which is why I couldn't understand some topics that were mentioned by the characters about events that already happened in the past, so I was a little confused. I liked Juliet as a main character though, she was kind, upfront and stood her ground. In the beginning, King was just okay but I liked him more when he took a stand for Juliet in front of his family. His sister was very annoying and I did not like her, his brother were quite okay tbh. For a second chance romance, the angst in this was quite tame and in my opinion King should've groveled hard to get Juliet back because the way she described their story, he was the one who left her when she was her most vulnerable. But instead of getting a good grovel plot line, we get them meeting randomly at a coffee shop and instantly getting back together after some chapters without talking about what happened in the past in detail which was a huge throw off for me tbh. So, while this book was an easy and lighthearted read, I would have enjoyed it more if the execution was better tbh because there was next to no development throughout the entire story.

I had really high hopes for this book. It’s the one I had been looking forward to the most. And I just felt it didn’t hit as hard as I expected. I gave this a 3.5 star. I rounded up to 4. Because it’s still better than a 3 star.

King is this gruff and silent cowboy. He always seems stern and locked away. His family doesn’t know his history with Juliette, and since she’s a Capelli they’ve kept their history a secret. But now she’s back in town and King can’t stop running into her.

Juliette never got over her broken heart. And now that she’s back in town it’s stirring up all the past feelings and heartache.

When they decide to give it another go and see if they can heal and forgive each other they’re met with the obstacles of their family. Juliette’s brothers aren’t good guys and they do some pretty messed up things. This has spanned the whole book series. So I really expected to have some sort of closure from that. But it just seems to be written off.

Also because of the history of their relationship I felt they didn’t build as much of one in this book. It came off feeling glossed over in a way. It’s still a sweet and heartfelt second chance romance. But I was just expecting it to hit harder and have more closure for the series as a whole.

It’s a good story. And well written. I recommend reading the whole series. It gives you a better insight to the plot line and the characters. But it’s not necessary to enjoy this book.

I received this as an ARC. I am voluntarily leaving this review.

Getting It Right The Second Time Round -
The first time Juliet and King saw each other after what happened when they broke up years ago, didn’t go so well, but it also made them realise they still loved each other. However, even though they tried to stay away from each other due to their family feud, they just couldn’t help themselves. Unfortunately, their path to happiness didn’t run smooth, as the communication issue that caused their initial break became an issue again whilst King was dealing with some family problems.

Regrettably, just as they resolved the issue that nearly derailed their relationship, Juliet’s family decided to wreak havoc on their lives, to the extent that it turned to violence, but King stepped up to ensure Juliet was safe and her family left her alone. As luck would have it, once all their issues were resolved, the6 finally declared their true feelings for each other and worked towards the happy lives they both deserved.

Daaaaaaam! That was one heck of an amazing experience I just went through reading this book. I felt compelled to turn the pages, as I eagerly anticipated if their families were going to accept their relationship and what was going to happen to them. To truly enjoy this book, you need to carve out at least six hours of uninterrupted time and I can tell you it would be worth every second.

I received an advanced copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is a poignant story of love, loss, heartbreak, vulnerability, isolation, strength, family, and ultimately personal choice. King and Juliet were from feuding families as kids, but they shares a love beyond their years. Planning their forever, fate dealt them a tragic hand and tore them apart. King pushed her toward a better future since he couldn't see past his (and her) pain at the time, always believing she was destined for better than himself. Juliet just wanted him, but lost herself in her grief when she was left with nothing but emptiness abd heartbreak.

When their paths cross 15 years later, is the ember of love still burning for these childhood sweethearts? Is it too late to say what should have been said all those years ago? And what of the rift between their families, her brothers have ensured it is very much alive and vibrant as ever. If there's even a chance to rekindle their love, family must be addressed (on more than one level).

This was a fabulous book. While it was my first foray into this series, learning that there were previous Seaglass Beach books prompts me to go back and read them as soon as possible. Kendrick is a wonderful author who creates caring, realistic characters and stories that suck you in and welcome you to the fold. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.

I received a gift copy and volunteered my review. Happy Reading Y'all 📚

"You can’t be swooping in and rescuing me all the time.”
"I can, actually. Swoop in and rescue. That’s what I’m here for.”

I love this book! I’ve been waiting for King and Juliet’s story for a while now. I loved that. We don’t have to wait so long for king and Juliet to get back together. The two of them get their second chance at a relationship together. I liked that they communicated and worked through their struggles from when they were together before and said their apologies. I loved how easy it was for them to be together. I am obsessed with the steamy scenes! King is a man of a few words, but OMG is the dirty talking in the bedroom amazing. The plot of this book was very interesting, and I loved how king and Juliet navigated them being in a relationship with both of their families hating each other. You definitely get the Romeo and Juliet vibes with this romance!
The only thing I wasn’t so thrilled about in this book was the third act breakup. King and Juliet for most of the book had great communication, so it sucked that King shut down and couldn’t talk about his fears to Juliet.

Read if you like:
Dual POVs
Small town romance
Romeo and Juliet vibes
Second chance romance
Swoony hero
Grumpy hero
Open door romance
Protective hero

Thank you to Valentine PR and Kara Kendrick for the ARC! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

For fans new to the romance genre, I think this would be a good beginner romance. If you enjoy a Hallmark-style romance but have always hoped for more spice, then this would be a good book/series. It almost had a cozy feeling to it, except for so much spice lol. A touch of drama. An intro to another series. Lots of swoony moments. It had all the elements needed for a special second chance romance book, plus Romeo and Juliet feuding family vibes. Or King Montgomery and Juliet Capelli in this case.

All of that unfortunately didn’t keep my interest much throughout. There were a lot of plot points that either wrapped up with little fanfare or left me scratching my head. For two people that love each other and have loved each other still after fifteen years apart, they very easily give up after slight drama. There was a secret sister plot thrown in that I’m assuming ties to another series, and Juliet’s low-life criminal brothers were kind of thrown aside with no real wrap-up.

I virtually lost interest after the MMC said, “Scram, you buffoons” because NO ONE under 80 years old says that. Also, he loved that she smelled like tortilla chips. Omg.

Tropes- second chance romance, forbidden, feuding families

I really enjoyed King Montgomery and Juliet Capelli's love story. Fifteen years ago, they were madly in love... but their relationship was a closely-guarded secret. Their feuding families made it impossible for them to be together outside their secret bubble. Then a tragedy tears them apart, forcing Juliet to escape their small town, leaving King to become grumpy and closed off to protect his devastated heart...and to protect their secret.

When Juliet returns to Seaglass Beach fifteen years later, still no one knows their painful history, but King sees it in Juliet's eyes when they literally bump into each other at the gas station. The raw emotions––the heartbreak, the torment, the longing––threaten to break down his protective shell. The magnetic pull between them is too strong to ignore. The road back to each other––the mending of broken hearts and trust––is a journey well worth taking. Their one-in-a-lifetime love is definitely worth a second chance.

This is a sexy, angsty Romeo and Juliet story with a happen ending. I recommending diving right in!

On a final note, I liked the author's homage to the famous literary lovers in the main character names––King Montgomery (Montague) and Juliet Capelli (Juliet Capulet).

Undone is the story of Juliet and King and them giving second chance to their love.

Before we proceed further, this cover is soo cutee. Ok, back to the review. 😂

Juliet and King were former lovers who broke up when King decided that she was better of away from her toxic family and that ultimately meant away from him.

Years later when she comes back to the small town, no one can stop them from rekindling their love.

The scenes in this book with both the main characters were amazingly portrayed. The romance is swoony.

The MCs are a cute grumpy x sunshine pair. There are a series of emotions associated to their journey that would wrap itself around you and sway to in every direction.

There's drama, secrets, romance, emotions and spice all packed in one.

Some of my favorite scenes included the confession time and their road trip.

However the only minus point to this read are the few loose ends and unanswered questions. I even felt the angst was a little missing. It would have been fun reading King dott over Juliet to ask for forgiveness while she plays hard to do the same since it's been a very long time after their break-up.

Notheless it is a nice book that cen be read for romance and love.
