When Markham’s rescued from sea, he finds himself aboard a bizarre cruise ship populated by gang lords, sentient crocodiles, and, yeah, maybe a human or two. He can’t remember life before. But life now sure seems scary.

Nina tells him only the Captain can make things right. But the Captain’s gone missing—and Markham? Some believe he had something to do with it.

To clear his name and avoid trial-by-crocodile, Markham agrees to help Nina locate the missing legend at the helm . . . and the fact that Nina makes Markham’s blood jump around like waves under the deck may have added to that decision.

But soon the most vicious gang lord threatens to corrupt everything on the vessel, from its dizzying neon casinos to its boiler-room volcano. As shadow and panic overtake the ship, Markham must find the Captain—or something in himself—to stop it before the cruise becomes a nightmare. He starts to wonder not only if this godlike Captain can save them—but if he was ever really there to begin with.

My favorite thing about this book was the writing. I loved the descriptions (and I'm not usually a descriptions person). They were vivid and efficient. The setting is a bizarre world that at first seems nonsensical, but so many of the little details I assumed were solely to add flavor to the setting came back throughout the book to further the plot on a logical way. It was so masterfully done. About a third of the way through I thought the book was going one way, but by the end, it went somewhere else. I loved how everything concluded and worked out.

Overboard, a GREAT fantasy!!

Overboard , By SC Megale is a fun and addictive fantasy read that takes place on a mega, city sized, cruise ship which is filled with unbelievable characters. There is a bit of everything in this wonderfully written novel. You will encounter gangs, missing people, Markham, the main character with memory loss and, even characters that have lost body parts to angry crocks!
The Captain is missing, who is driving this city-ship? Who is policing the gangs roaming all areas of the ship and who can find out what the heck is going on? You’ll have to read Overboard if you wish to find out. Fingers crossed that they make this into a movie! Another great fantasy,S.C. Megale!
