Heart-pounding romance. Unforgettable heroes. Sizzling happily-ever-afters—with a side of suspense that'll keep you up way past bedtime.

I dreamed of being a writer as a kid but took the "safe" route: journalism degree, advertising career, MBA, corporate gigs at Chase and Universal. Then in 2020, I said screw it and published my first book. Twenty-five books later, I'm living the dream.

I'm also a mom to two teenage daughters who are perpetually mortified by my career choices. My husband's an entrepreneur whose latest product is Nampons (yes, it rhymes with tampons and yes, it's for nosebleeds). Between my spicy romance and his biz... we've cornered the market on parental embarrassment.

My books feature tough characters facing tougher choices, compelling suspense, and storylines that'll make you think. But no matter how dark things get, my people always choose love.

Alexandria and Ryan's story was good and It was really interesting, but there was still something missing in it for me. I couldn't properly feel the connection between them and their love.

Special thanks to the author and Grey's Promo for providing me with this ARC copy.

Ok so it's not often that other reviews make me mad for the author, but the reviews for this one have done just that.
Blood, sweat and tears go into every book and they rely on rankings to get the book seen more.
I am ALWAYS honest in my reviews and ratings, so as you can see from mine this was a 5 star, top read.
To see 3 star but still loved the book isn't fair or honest.
This book had it all.
It was edge of your seat suspense with romance in the background. As it should be.
So if the author happens to read my review, PLEASE don't be disheartened. This was my favourite book from you yet and I can't wait to see what you come up with next.
To readers interested in this book ONE CLICK IMMEDIATELY, this was a fantastic way to start off a series.

The Missing Daughter . . .

A billionaire’s daughter, 15-year-old Sophia, is missing and Ryan Wolfgang (“Wolf”) from Arrow Tactical Security, a black ops firm handling dangerous missions, is called into the case. To assist him on behalf of this high-profile client, Dr. Alexandria Rolfe has been brought in as well to add her expertise as a profiler and because she is a family friend. Was this a kidnapping or did Sophia run away? Will they find her alive? And if she has been kidnapped, what are they after?

This is a suspenseful story line and also becomes a romantic one. Grab your copy and follow the details of their investigation to find out what happened and how it will resolve.

Amazon / Apple Books / Nook / Kobo / Google Play

Alex has been brought in to help her friend find his missing daughter. Jack has also asked for help from his own old friend, Ryan, owner of Arrow Tactical Security, former Navy SEAL. Alex can tell Ryan thinks she's going to be useless in this case, but she's smart, she's on her way to becoming a profiler, and more importantly, she knows Sophia, and that's going to make the real difference in this case. She had no way of knowing she and Ryan would be teaming up in other ways, ways that would certainly change her life.

Ryan's not really a relationship kind of guy. He's fairly closed off and stoic, but there's something about this woman that's getting to him. At first glance, she seemed a bit useless, but he soon finds out she's more than useful, she's damn smart and helping more than she probably realizes. She's also bringing out feelings he didn't expect and isn't sure he wants. But he can't seem to help himself. Once this case is solved, he'll need to make a decision about the beautiful doctor.

Ryan has made appearances in Isabel's previous series, Twisted Vines, and he's been intriguing in each appearance. I'm so glad I got to read his story because it's suspenseful and fast-paced and Ryan and Alex are a great couple with intense chemistry. Though Ryan was freaking cold af in the beginning, he ended up falling hard, and they really are perfect for each other, complementing each other's strengths and weaknesses. I'm really excited for more of this new series now.

This is book one in The Arrow Tactical Security Series and it is Ryan (Wolf) and Alex's story and omg what a great start to a new series it is definitely a must read. Ryan is head of Arrow Tactical Security which is a black ops company but when they get a missing person assignment which is not something that they normal deal with but Jack who's fifteen year old daughter Sophia is missing is a academy friend so Ryan is determined to help. Alex has her PhD and works at the local university and wants to aspire to be a criminal profiler just like her famous father and she is also a friend of the family of Sophia and Alex wants to help find her. Did Sophia run away or was she kidnapped as they can't seem to find any clues and time is running out but when some evidence shows up they will have to change tactics to see if they can flush out who is doing this. The more time that Ryan and Alex spend together the stronger there chemistry and feelings grow for each other but danger is all around them watching and waiting to strike but will they be able to solve and find Sophia in time and catch the people involved who ever they are before it is too late. Omg this book takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions and I couldn't put it down as it was a real page turner and so addictive. The storyline pulled you in right from the start and kept your attention throughout and had you on the edge of your seat wondering what the outcome would be for them all. This is the first book that I have read by Isabel Jolie and I enjoyed reading it so much and look forward to reading more of her book's in the future as it was so well written and definitely worth reading.

I absolutely LOVE suspense in my books, and Isabel Jolie's Better to See You has it in spades, and I couldn't get enough. Ryan is a former Navy SEAL who now has his own company, Arrow Tactical Security, a black ops firm who handles dangerous missions. He's asked by a friend to help with a missing person case. Alexandria's father is Dr. Richard Rolfe, forensic scientist & psychologist extraordinaire, and while she is in the same field as her father, she still wants to forge her own path so when she gets the call about this missing girl, she jumps at the chance, and ends up partnering with Ryan. I was on the edge of my seat cover to cover while devouring this story as the twists were coming in hot, but with black ops, there's also a lot of action so my heart raced like crazy as well, plus the sparks were flying between Ryan & Alex. Not only were there questions about who dun it, but why the hell did they do it making it an exciting read as my mind worked overtime to guess before all was revealed. I really hope this new series will provide many books because I'm already ALL IN & CANNOT WAIT for more! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

It could be a good series. There is plenty of focus on the mystery of the abducted child. I didn't really connect with the male lead or feel he was terribly competent. The female lead was a bit more relatable and seemed capable. Their relationship just seemed a bit too much about sex rather than shared interests / values. I guessed the main bad guy early into the book and the assistant bad guy too.

This is the first book by this author that I have had the privilege to read but it definitely won’t be the last! I really enjoyed how she created quite an intricate storyline and interesting characters.

Ryan Wolfgang, a former seal, heads Arrow Tactical Security and helps his old friend, Jack, try to find his missing fifteen-year-old daughter. Jack insists Dr. Alex Rolfe, a family friend, helps as well seeing as she is a criminal and behavioral psychologist. It’s all swimming along with everyone trying to discover just what happened to Sophia then part one ends on a Clanger and the excitement ramps up.

Ryan and Alex feel a chemistry pretty much as soon as they meet or not long after. They are both professionals, but hey, even professionals can’t resist the lure of passion and their passion is red hot. Their romance is actually slow burn but in reality, it’s covering a relatively short time, you just can’t help but want them to get together.

The more the story goes forward the more I am unsure about the whys and what-the-hecks of the case. All along my suspicions are a bit out there but are they? I love the intricately woven puzzle pieces as they take you on an amazing adventure of mystery and intrigue. I thoroughly enjoyed the way readers get to see inside criminologists’ minds. Then an exciting and nail-biting end finishes part two! Holy moly the suspense then continues and I actually found myself with my mouth open making a very good fish impression! 😁 You’ve got to read it to believe it and you should definitely read this book!

MF/dual POV/missing person/psychological mystery/med burn/coworkers/HEA

Book one in the new Arrow Tactical Security series. Each book follows a different set of characters and can be read as a stand-alone but to get the most of the story it is suggested to read the books in order.

Ryan is an ex Navy SEAL who started a security company with a few other ex SEAL buddies. Jack, an old academy friend, shows up requesting Ryan’s help to locate his missing 15y/o daughter Sophia. He also brought Alexandria(Alex) along to help. She was friends with his late wife and stayed close with Sophia after her mother’s passing. She also has the background to aid in the search.

Alex aspires to be a criminal profiler. She already has her PhD and is a currently instructor at a local university. When her and Ryan team up to run the investigation, the lack of evidence is leading them nowhere fast. Then they come across footage that leaves questions as to whether Sophia ran away or was kidnapped…

Now they’re against the clock and and trying to piece together a case from nothing. But the more time they spend together, the more they’re drawn together. The closer they get, the more the lines between a professional and personal relationship blur. Can they figure out what happen to Sophia before it’s to late..? As lies and secrets unfold, will everything they thought change? Who should they trust? And what else may they discover while they search..?

This book really kept me on my toes. It seemed a little slow going at the beginning but I can imagine that’s also how the characters felt while searching for someone with no leads where to even start. Ryan is a very private, fairly quiet person who doesn’t do relationships. At first Alex didn’t think she was Ryan’s type but he definitely showed her otherwise… on several occasions 😉 I enjoyed watching their bond grow as they worked toward a common goal. I always enjoy watching the ‘anti-relationship’ character get hit with a possessive wave of want and I can’t stay away. This definitely falls in those lines. The overall story was very well thought out and kept you guessing what would happen! I look forward to reading Jack’s story next.

Former SEAL Ryan Wolfgang is the head of Arrow Tactical Security. The family of a missing teenager has hired him. They’ve also hired Dr. Alexandria Rolfe, a forensic scientist and psychologist. Has someone kidnapped the girl? Did she runaway? The tale that unfolds balances between the case and the chemistry building between Ryan and Alex.

I enjoy romantic suspense and had a fun time listening to Better to See You. Arrow Tactical Security is a black ops unit that specializes in retrievals. The case was a curious one with lots of twists as the team worked to locate the missing teen and determine motive. It held my attention, as did the interactions between Ryan and Alex.

Both Ryan and Alex are professionals and skirt around the attraction as the chemistry builds. I liked them both and enjoyed listening to their romance unfold. Danger added to the mix, keeping me listening.

Dane Anderson and Chloe Lynn successfully portrayed the hero and heroines’ personalities and emotions. They enhanced the overall story and I recommend listening.

Fans of special ops, romantic suspense and steamy romances will want to check out Better to See You. This review was originally posted at Caffeinated Reviewer

Better to See You is Ryan and Alex’s slow-burn story as they are tasked with searching for a missing fifteen-year-old.

Synopsis
Sophia Sullivan, a fifteen-year-old, is missing from her home.

Ryan Wolfgang, former Navy SEAL and now head of Arrow Tactical Security is tasked with finding her. What he didn’t expect was having Dr. Alexandria Rolfe, criminal profiler and Sophia’s aunt, in his team to search for the missing child. Least on that list of expectations was his growing attraction toward Alex.

Review
Narrated from dual perspectives, Better to See You starts with Ryan Wolfgang meeting prospective clients that includes Dr. Alexandria Rolfe, who’s an associate professor at UCSB and a consultant for criminal cases.

Ryan’s company, Arrow Tactical Security, provides security and surveillance services and protection detail, and they also work with government entities on international projects.

Set in Santa Barbara, fifteen-year-old Sophia has been missing for less than 24 hours, and most govt agencies/police are unwilling to search for her, thinking that she’s a runaway case. But her father, her only surviving parent, thinks otherwise and seeks out Ryan, knowing his expertise with kidnapping and random cases.

Love books with dogs and Alex has a 14-year-old cockapoo, Trace.

As the countdown and search for the missing person progress in each successive chapter, Isabel Jolie’s way of narration gave a sense of urgency to the story, especially when each and every lead pursued by the protagonists seemed to reach a dead end.

There are so many variables and yet the story was paced so that now I want to hunt down all of Jolie’s books. The variables included Sophia having run away with someone or being abducted or having drowned (what with the Sullivans’ sea-facing mansion).
They look happy, but then again, they are posing for the camera. That’s the trouble with photographs. The truth a photograph presents is one-dimensional. And we humans are multi-faceted.

With her background, Alex is frustrated since she can neither read Ryan nor is any closer to finding Sophia, while he’s not too happy having to wait for her for every engagement.

Daughter of a criminal profiler dad, she’s well on her way to becoming one and this is as much of a family crisis as it is an opportunity to boost her career.

Better to See You is as intense as it is fun, what with Ryan having to tolerate Alex and her trying to profile him.

The story takes place in two parts. Part One ends with a revelation as to what could have taken place regarding the missing girl but no one is anywhere nearer to finding her.

I loved Alex’s persona, with her take-it-on-the-chin attitude yet a demure disposition. She felt quite relatable; worrying about her career and what she perceives as “low-class behavior” (yep, I have those same double standards).

For men who are casual about relationships, it tickles me every time I read about them acting like it and yet being jealous internally.

Part Two ends when the case has almost reached a conclusion. The atmosphere is often heavy, what with searching for various options to bring the child home safely.

The book ends with an epilogue that has a scene(s) one month in the future. What I found really funny, as the story wrapped up, was how thirty-seven-year-old Ryan is as adult as once can be and yet has a fear of Alex’s “curmudgeonly old da.”

P.S. This is a spinoff of the author’s Twisted Vines series. Now I’m going to read all of her books.

Thank you to Grey’s Promotions for an e-ARC of the book.

Better to See You is the first book in the Arrow Tactical Security series by Isabel Jolie. This series is a spin off from her Twisted Vines series- where Ryan "Wolf" Wolfgang was one of the main secondary characters and a founding member of the Arrow Security group they formed. So while it may not be completely necessary to have read the Twisted Vines series before beginning this book- it will give you some insight to Wolf's character as well as many of the secondary characters that get brought into play in this book.

3.5 ⭐

One of the things I love about Isabel Jolie's writing is that she depth that she puts into it. Many of her characters find themselves in these shocking, suspenseful and often times dangerous situations- which is quite the departure from the types of books I tend to normally read. Her writing provokes thought and sometime unease when the reality of how real the subject matter can be. How she can wrap all that up inside a book while still also finding a way to have a romantic relationship form and blossom is just one of the reasons I keep coming back for more.

I was so excited when I found out Wolf's story was coming out. He intrigued me and I just wanted to dig down more into his character. With that being said, I do admit I wasn't all in for this book. The mystery and suspense in this story was there, the pull and attraction despite the age difference and working relationship between Ryan and Alex was there too- I just felt like something was missing. I loved when Ryan's protective instincts kicked in before he even admitted to wanting some form of relationship with Alex. We do learn a little more about Ryan and how he keeps things that he loves close to the vest- but I didn't end up with the feeling that his whole story had unfolded. Same with Alex, we learn how she has followed in the footsteps of her father yet wants to make a name for herself outside of being related to him but it kind of felt like the story never really got past just the basic layer.

But beyond my wanting to dig deeper beyond the layers of Ryan and Alex- I still enjoyed so much about this story. The small moments where both Ryan and Alex let their guards down around each other. The attraction that grew into a deeper chemistry despite the obstacles or reasons they would normally stay away. The twists and turns in the hunt for Sophie- the missing 15 year old daughter of Ryan and Alex's mutual friend Jack. I felt all the desperation and fear they each held as more information and twists came into play. That part of the story played with my emotions- and while it is not expressly confirmed, there is a couple mentions of the possibility/order of rape when Sophie had been kidnapped- which may be a sensitive subject for some readers.

Jack's story is coming next and I'm really interested to see how his character will have changed after all the traumatic events he had been put through- and how Sophie is doing down the road.

Isabel Jolie's new series kicks off with a wild suspenseful ride.

The Arrow Tactical Security Series is a spin-off from Jolie's Twisted Vines series. It begins with Ryan "Wolf" Wolfgang, one of Arrow Tactical's founders, being hired to find a missing daughter of a high-profile client. The client wants his kid found fast and with discretion, so he provides the aid of Alex Rolfe, a local professor of criminal profiling, to help Wolf.

This read strikes the right balance of mystery, action, and romance. I enjoyed the development of Wolf and Alex's strangers-to-colleagues-to-lovers relationship as they solve a tangled web of a case. Their chemistry was fantastic and I wished there were more spicy scenes, but I totally get why more would throw the whole story off.

The pacing is great; Jolie does a great job of building tension during the slower parts of the book to create an adrenaline rush during the highs. I've always enjoyed the action scenes she creates because she weaves such vivid details that it is almost like playing an action movie in your mind.

While I understand that this is the inaugural book in the series, I felt like the ending was somewhat rushed and incomplete. Maybe I will get the closure I am searching for in the subsequent book. Speaking of, this can be read as a standalone, though it does mention details from The Twisted Vines series. If you're a fan of romantic suspense, this book is a good pick.

A new spin-off series from Isabel Jolie featuring characters some readers might be familiar with from her Twisted Vines series. Better To See You is set in the world of black ops private security and when former naval officer and billionaire Jack Sullivan’s daughter goes missing who else is he going to call on for help but Arrow Tactical Security. Owner Ryan Wolfgang finds himself teaming up with profiler Alexandra Rolfe to find the fifteen year old Sophia. But is this merely the case of a petulant teen hiding out to worry her father or are other more sinister forces at work here?

This was a great psychological thriller, full of twists and turns as the hero and heroine strive to find Sophia. Secrets and lies abound as they struggle with who they can actually trust. I especially liked how earlier chapters keep a count of how many hours Sophia has been missing. It really helps to build up the tension in the story. There was good chemistry between Ryan and Alex and I liked how there was an even balance between the romance and the thriller aspects of this book. My one niggle with it would be that I would’ve liked to hear more about Sophia and the aftermath of her ordeal but possibly that will be gone into in more depth in the next book featuring her father Jack.

I am a fan of this author and immediately requested the ARC when it was offered by Hidden Gems. This book is the first book in the Arrow Tactical Security series, but somewhat of a continuation of the Twisted Vines series (loved Savor). Some of the secondary characters and those that Wolf works with were the main characters in the Twisted Vines series.
This book starts with Ryan ‘Wolf’ Wolfgang being called by an old friend whose teenaged daughter has been kidnapped. As Wolf goes to aid this friend, he has been asked to include Dr Alexandria Rolfe, a family friend and forensic psychologist, whose father is famous for his work with the police. There seems to be some caution with both of them in the beginning, as neither really trusts the other or their process in helping with the case. Also, Alex has just graduated with her PhD so there is doubt from the others that she might not be as good as her father and there is some self-doubt from her that was very relatable. As they begin to work together, their relationship grows, and they work as a team to help get the girl back. It’s a great mystery that keeps you guessing about if they are going to be able to find this girl and figure out who is behind her kidnapping.

Better to See You is the first book in a spin-off series by Isabel Jolie. I was able to enjoy without having read any of the other books but I'm certain I'll love the others too!

Ryan Wolfgang, owner of Tactical Security, has received a call for help from a former Navy buddy; his daughter is missing and time is ticking. Runaways aren't usual fare at Tactical but he can't turn down his old friend, Jack. When Jack brings in a young, green profiler, Wolf seriously questions her involvement but soon learns how smart and intuitive she is; plus she knows the victim. But she's distracting in a way this former Navy SEAL and loner has never experienced. He doesn't think of himself as a relationship guy but even when the case is over, he's not letting Alex go.

I really enjoyed this story. Ryan aka "wolf" and Alex were great characters with a lot of depth. The suspense was fast paced and exciting (although I pegged the culprit early on). I wish there had been a little more relationship development but overall the story was great! I'll definitely be tuning in for more!

When a friend's daughter goes missing, Ryan aka Wolf from Arrow Tactical security is called into to help find her along with Alex Rolfe, a psychologist, who is known to the missing child as Aunt Alex. At first, they don't know if Sophia has just run away or if she's been kidnapped. To start with Ryan doesn't feel that Alex adds anything to the search, apart from her connection to Sophia, but his old classmate and Sophia's father wants them to work together. As time goes on, with no clues as to her where abouts, and no ransom demand Sophia's father decides the time has come to go public. When this results in a ransom demand, everyone knows that now, Sophia's life is at risk, kidnap victims are rarely released alive. Now the FBI join them in the hunt for Sophia, and Alex comes up with a radical plan which might just guarantee Sophia comes home alive.

The romance side between Wolf and Alex was a nice little gem in book, however it was primarily a good thriller with some twists and turns. I did realise fairly quickly who was behind this, but felt the ending was somewhat lacking and rushed.

Better to See You is the first book in a new series by Ms. Jolie and a spin-off of the Twisted Vines Series (which I loved!). If you read the Twisted Vines series, you'll recognize some of the characters which makes it more enjoyable in my opinion. I was intrigued by Wolf when we were introduced to him previously and I was not disappointed in getting to know this character better. He's everything that you expect and want in an former Navy Seal with all his protective traits. He's now in the private security sector and has been called in by his friend Jack Sullivan whose daughter has gone missing. Let me tell you, this story moves and never stops. It had all the elements of a romantic suspense that I look for -- drama, mystery, edge of your seat action, twists & turns -- you name it, it's in there. And the icing on the cake is the slow burn interaction between Wolf and Alex. Can't wait to read Jack's book -- it can't come soon enough! I'm grateful to have been given an opportunity to read an early copy of this book.

Better to See You is a fantastic spin off to the Twisted Vines series. You can read this without reading the series, but you do meet Wolf aka Ryan first in the Twisted Vines series. Ryan "Wolf" is running his own security firm and does whatever it takes to keep his clients safe and help catch the bad guy. Alex is a profiler who knows how to read people. Ryan and Alex work wonderfully together as they help out an old friend figure out what happened to his daughter. I really enjoyed this romantic suspense novel! Better to See You is the first book in the Arrow Tactical Security series.

This story centers around Ryan and Alex. We first meet Ryan, the head of Arrow Tactical Security, in the author’s Twisted Vines series. Ryan is hired by his friend Jack to help find Jack’s missing teen daughter, Sophia. Ryan brings ALex, criminal profiler and a friend to Jack’s late wife, to help with the case.

This story takes its readers on a wild ride. It was full of mystery and intrigue. It was really hard to tell who could be trusted. Alex and Ryan had good chemistry, but I typically like a bit more spice in the books that I read. I feel like the romance took a bit of a backseat to the suspense in this novel at times, but the plot was so gripping that I really didn’t mind.

I can’t wait to read the next book in this series, which I believe will be about Jack!

Will keep you glued to the pages

Better to See You is another eloquently written and enticing story by Isabel Jolie. This story is a spin-off from the Twisted Vines series, but is a stand-alone read. The story is about Alexandria Rolfe and Ryan "Wolf" Wolfgang and follows them as they work together to locate and possibly rescue a friend's missing daughter, Sophia. Be prepared when you pick this book up to not want to put it down, you will completely lose track of time once you crack it open. The romance between Alex and Ryan is slow burning, but definitely sizzling hot, popping off the pages. There are a number of twists and turns that take the reader on a wild ride, both emotionally and holding your breath suspenseful, with a great ending. This book is a definite 5 Star rating, and a RECOMMENDED READ! If you have not read Isabel Jolie yet then you will be hooked after reading Better to See You.

Figuring it out

Dr. Alex Rolfe is on the way to making a name for herself in the world of criminal psychology. She's got the degrees, the teaching position, and only needs some visibility tome her dream of becoming a profiler come true. Her bet friend's daughter goes missing, and the girl's father calls her for help. Arrow Tactical Security is the firm hired to find Sophia, and ex-SEAL Ryan Wolfgang is the man in charge. Initially e and Alex clash, But Alex slowly but surely proves herself. The more complicated the case gets, the more Ryan's aversion turns to admiration, and the something more. The tense moments, the frustration, the fear, the false trails, and the dead ends fuel a professional respect and a working bond; the attraction ramps ever higher and hotter. This story is e-reader-combustible, and I had to keep reading to the end. It's a superbly crafted, finely detailed thriller and an incendiary love story combined. My voluntary ARC review is 5 blazing stars!

This was a book about Ryan helping an ex military friend find his missing daughter. The first thing they need to do is figure out if she was abducted or left on her own. Her dad also calls in a family friend, Alex, to help in the search. Ryan doesn’t like Alex at first, but quickly realizes maybe he was wrong about her.
While they search for the young girl, secrets are revealed and Ryan and Alex grow closer. Whether they find her in time is the main question. They also have to wonder what ramifications she will be left with to heal. The person/people behind everything will shock you. I wish there would have been more in the way of a confrontation between the dad and the culprits.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more books by this author. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.

Better to See You by Isabel Jolie
I think a missing child is any parents worst nightmare do as a parent I automatically felt for Jack. He seeks out Arrow Security and of course Ryan Wolfgang services. They are the best to help him out with his situation finding out what has happened with Sophia. Alex was very close friends with Sophia’s mom Cassandra and a profiler. She is there to help find Sophia but Ryan is reluctant to work with Alex. Will these two be able to work together and find this girl. I’d she even missing it is she simply decided to run away? Well grab this book and find out. It is a book full of twists and turns at every page that will have Tupi reading page after page to know what is going to happen. To know who is involved and what will happen with these two. A book definitely worth reading . Highly recommend.

A brilliant read that kept me engaged from almost the first page We have met Ryan "Wolf" Wolfgang the head of Arrow Tactical Security before as he appears in Twisted Vines and we have always known that is quite and stoic and doesn't do relationships at all His life is thrown into turmoil when he asked by his friend to help with the disappearance of his daughter What he doesn't expect is to have to work with Alexandria "Alex" Rolfe a newly minter Forensic Psychologist and a woman determined to step out of the shadow of her father He just knows that she is going to be of no use to him in this case He soon has to rethink that as he discovers not only is she smart and intelligent but she is also helping him with the case What he doesn't know how to handle is the way she affects him and how he wants more with her When they solve the case can they have a future You will have to read to see

3.5 stars

Having met Ryan in the Twisted Vine series (which you don't need to read but I recommend you do), I was excited that he was getting his story told in this new series. I really liked him and the story told in Better To See You, but I unfortunately did not get caught up in his relationship with Alex. They just did not draw me in like a couple should. The mystery aspect had me guessing...and second guessing...my guesses, which doesn't happen often, so I really enjoyed that aspect of the book.

Sometimes every book is not for every reader, and that's okay. It takes nothing away from Isabel Jolie, who I very much enjoy and who I will continue to read. I still recommend people give this book a try for themselves.

This was an enjoyable romantic suspense.
I thought the mystery of the missing girl was really clever and well thought out. The suspense grew at a great pace and the tension was certainly present. I wasn't sure how the story was going to end, which is always a plus for me as a seasoned romantic suspense reader.
I think the characters are fun. Each character has something to prove and that's their main drive throughout the book. In my opinion the romance was nice slow burn. These two had some lovely moments that made me go awww!
The writing drew you in and the story was well written.
I would recommend this to readers who like romantic suspense, grumpy/closed off hero, smart heroines, work romance, slow burn and steam.
