Alien Devil's Bluff (Black Star Mates #2) is an intriguing addition to the series. In a bleak future where Earth has become uninhabitable, humans find themselves relegated to the lowest social strata, struggling for survival against the backdrop of formidable space vampires, other creatures and constant peril. This narrative is packed with elements that keep the reader engaged.

My curiosity was piqued from the start, compelling me to delve deeper into the unfolding story.

At the heart of the plot is Laux, a powerful Vinduthi who is part of the opulent but dangerous Black Star casino. This bustling hub serves as both refuge and battleground for various interstellar species. Laux’s life takes an unexpected turn when he becomes infatuated with a resilient human woman, whose mere presence disrupts the carefully maintained order of his world.

However, the romance is quickly overshadowed by escalating tensions; the fragile peace is shattered when she eavesdrops on a conspiratorial conversation among other species plotting to bring down the casino. This sets off a cascade of events that entangle their blossoming relationship in a web of chaos and danger, leading to intense moments and unexpected alliances. As the stakes rise, readers are left eager to see how love can flourish in such tumultuous circumstances.

Laux is the pit later of the Black Star Casino. He works hard and he plays hard. The minute he sees the lovely human bartender Lila working he knows he wants her and he'll flirt , cajole and letter her until she give in. Lila a hard working bartender who just wants to live a life where she can take care of herself and not have to worry about being hurt or taken advantage of. She thinks her new boss Laux is gorgeous but he's also Vinduthi and she knows better than to get involved with one of the more powerful groups on Thodos III. Then danger strikes and these two have to work together to save the Black Star! Danger lurks around every corner

Loving the aliens in this series. The Vinduthi are some very hot males and seem to find human females that surprise them. Since all humans are looked as the lowest species on the space station some are very surprised by how smart and witty we can be. Lila is good at being a bartender and seems a natural when putting up with the bad it brings. Laux has a casino to help run but he feels a pull for one cute little female. But she will bring plenty of surprises and she helps to stop some bad guys that what to cause more protean just chaos. The story has the action and danger as well as builds the romance that does heat up.

I Want One

After each book about these aliens I say the same thing…I want one! The Black Star Casino is definitely the place to be and to find a hunky alien mafia male. Lila and Lux were delicious together, she wasn’t afraid to take risks and he was a risk taker . Their heat was off the chain and the entire book was entertaining and engrossing. I look forward to another human stumbling into the casino and finding her own Vinduthi male.

Lila has quite the attitude for a human female. She’s confident, aware of what’s going on around and assess’s the situation quickly and accurately despite any fear she may feel. Unfortunately her position doesn’t give her much security…..or at least until Laux takes a sudden interest in her. You’ll be captivated by the action, twists, outcomes and the finding of true love in this story.

I loved the characters in this book. Lila was intelligent and had a strength of character that really appealed to me. Laux was a perfect foil for her intellect without being dumb or obnoxious. In addition to great characters, the plot of the book was also interesting. I’m looking forward to reading more in this series.

Love for the Vinduthi

While this one wasn't fraught with all the danger and terrifying things happening, there was still plenty of action going on. I loved Laux and Lila together but it was just a little odd that most of the time the other human mates weren't around. It was explained, but it was odd. Love these stories though. Also love how it changes them when they mate.

I'm so hooked on black star series. Lila bartendar and laux head honcho of the casino come together was thrilling. Intrigue, angst, deceipt. This book has all the thrills and chills.
