Don't Ask My Neighbor

Samantha Wells loved and honored, but what she did best is betray. Her final act brings her face to face with Ryle Lucas. She came into his life, not once, but twice, and like she did his and the lives of many after him, she left them wondering how or why they had succumb to her—allowing her beauty to blind them to the evil ways she had so eloquently crafted. She treated the men who came into her life like the welcome mat at her front door. She displayed her good girl image to get what she wanted, and then played dirty when what she wanted no longer included them. Now with her sights on eligible bachelor and successful attorney J.B. Graybourne, Samantha, who had seemingly buried her checkered past, must try to keep the truth from destroying the life she thinks she deserves. She is ready to shelve her bad girl image for good, but one woman, and Samantha's colorful past, stands in the way of her happily ever after. Samantha might not be the only good girl who has gone bad, and her fate may no longer be in her own hands. Jelani Graybourne has his reasons for leading the single, bachelor life. The last time he allowed someone to take him off the market, he was left standing with his heart in his hand, and a bag of lies to sift through. Since then, he took a vow he’s been able to stick to, never letting another disrupt his life. Then he met Samantha Wells. After letting his guard down, Jelani found himself poised to make another trip to holy matrimony, until the enigma that is Samantha began to unravel before him. With her lies surfacing, Jelani is willing to give Samantha an out, but what he knows might not be the root of her evils. Is Samantha’s world with Jelani about to end, or will he allow her to conceal her deceptions and achieve her ultimate goal?

A neighborhood, your neighborhood is supposed to be your home. The place where you raise your family, make life long friends and live out your days in happiness. When we choose those neighborhoods, we have to make sure that we know who our neighbors are also, that could mean the difference between living a peaceful life or one of sheer torment.

Kennalyn Covell and Samantha Wells grew up neighbors and best friends. Samantha moved into Kennalyn's neighborhood after the house next door became empty. Samantha was a few years older than Kennalyn but that did not stop them from bonding and growing up inseparable. As adults they began to come into their own and do the things like adults do, Kennalyn found love and married Attorney Gage Delahunt and had a family but Samantha could just never find the right one to love. Due to circumstances beyond Kennalyn's control, just a mere three years into her perfect marriage her life started to spin horribly out of control and all due to one person ~ Samantha. Life brings many surprises but little did Samantha know that karma AND revenge is a dish best served cold!

Don't Ask My Neighbor is a book about trust and friendship and lack there of. This book displays how you should live life with eyes wide open and never take life for granted. Clarke gives a story of betrayal that would make anyone reading giving side glances to their supposed best friend and spouses. He takes us through very detailed events and schemes in order to get to the end result ~ happiness. There were some parts that seemed a little long-winded with unnecessary details but overall it was a very good read. The acronym for the title is D.A.M.N. and that is what you will find yourself saying throughout this novel. It states that it is an J.B. Graybourne novel, so that means that we shall see more from him and you will love his character. Kudos to Clarke on another great read!!!

Revenge Is Best Served Cold!

Let me start by saying if I did put this author in a box he clawed his way right out of it. This is a total 360 degree from his first novel. An extremely pleasant surprise. There is nothing us avid readers like to see more than authors branching into different genres with fresh new characters. Mr Clarke does not disappoint with this one.

Conniving, mischievous, backstabbing, cold hearted and many more words can be used to describe Samantha Wells, the villain you will love to hate. If you’re a female you’ll want to kill her for giving us all a bad name. If you’re a male you will want to protect her male victims and exact revenge for them. Yes this chick is beyond anything we would call human. I can’t imagine the dark place this author went to invent her.

Jalani Greybourne is a very successful lawyer that is one of the most eligible bachelors around. He is single with a purpose. Can Samatha be the one to take him off the market? Read the stunts she pulls to ensure this will happen. She will keep you turning pages saying, “I don’t believe this.” I know there is a part two coming soon. I want to see how this will be followed up.

Revenge!

What about your friend? Samantha and Kennalyn were childhood friends. As adults their lives couldn't have been more different. Kennalyn, married and had two children. Samantha, played the field. A twisted event end their friendship and life goes on. Or so it seems for one of the friends. The saying, "what's done in the dark will come to light" is true in this story.

Samantha Wells, has her sites set on successful attorney Jalani Graybourne. He has everything that she wants in a man. The qualities that will make her want to settle down. The problem is can she get to the alter before her past comes back to haunt her.

This is book will have you wondering how trifling can one character be. I really enjoyed reading about all the characters. Samantha, Kennalyn, Gabe, Rayle, and Jelani will keep you entertained. I would recommend reading this book. A contemporary fiction book with secrets being revealed all the way to the end. I will definitely read books by Krisofer in the future.

This was my first read by author Kristofer Clarke, and I was pleasantly surprised. The characters leap off the page in a rush to tell their side of the story, and it had the perfect balance of suspense, karma, drama and revenge. I planned to read this book over a couple of days, but I just couldn't put it down! I thoroughly enjoyed the book from beginning to end, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good read!

Looking forward to reading more from this author!
