Wayne
The media brought my brother's marriage to a fatal end, and I refuse to let the same thing happen to me. As the star quarterback, they speculate about my lifestyle, put me with random women, and call me an eligible bachelor. I don't care about any of it. I'll do anything to keep my personal life personal, except lose my girl.

Leslie
I'm not in the wives' box at the games. I'm not even with the girlfriends and sidepieces. No one knows I'm engaged to the NFL's hottest player in America right now. I thought I was okay with our decision to keep our relationship out of the media, but I'm tired of being a secret, and why should I be?

Touched Down 1 (Leslie and Wayne's story) has been previously Published on Kindle Vella.

The season begins

Leslie and Wayne were a cute couple who were in love. Of course with Wayne's profession there was bound to be some drama, and boy was there. I like the fact that these two have each other's back. Ready to see what season two has in store

repetitious mean girl drama

Really did not enjoy enjoy this book and almost gave it a DNF. Leslie has been secretly engaged to the QB for a pro team but only a few people know. Wayne wants to protect her from the media scrutiny that will arise if they go public, but they’ve been engaged for 2 years with no wedding date in sight and he won’t acknowledge her in public? Seems rather far fetched and unlikely. Of course, after Leslie demands they go public, paparazzi troubles ensue, lies are posted, mean girls get in her face, etc., exactly as predicted. And her feisty sister hits one with brass knuckles in a woman’s bathroom? And they have loud scenes in public places? The whole thing felt very immature, ridiculous, and over the top. And the romantic scenes between her and Wayne had stilted dialogue that also sounded ridiculous and over the top. No thanks.

The QB’s Lady

That was a very nice read !
They have been together for years, engaged for 2 yrs, no date set. No doubt he loved her, his way of protecting her is to keep their relationship a secret…
Leslie had enough and refused to be a secret… Wayne had no choice, because he can’t imagine losing her. But as we all know, celebrity comes with consequences…
Let Leslie and Wayne tell you 😉

I love Louis
Louise and Marjorie
& Eddie, get it together if you don’t want to lose your girl. Jeremiah is a great guy, but I don’t think Jaz is in love with him. So, man let Alexandria RIP !

Loved the drama

Talk about love, drama and laughs filled book it was there. I loved everything about it and more. Wayne and Leslie's love was very strong and true to each other. No matter what happened they were there for each other. Wayne was that protective alpha male that was right there for the woman they love. If there was something that got in there way or upset Leslie he was right there to make sure she was protected. Leslie was the same for Wayne if any female was trying to push up on her man. You don't want to miss out on this book.

I wanted to enjoy this story but Leslie’s character was so annoying. I understood not wanting to feel like you are hidden or a secret. However, when the events start to occur in which you were warned, you can’t play the victim. It was very hard to like her character. She initially gave off the vibe that she was no nonsense and didn’t play games but she eventually evolved to a big cry baby that needed everyone to speak on her behalf and fight her battles. I would like to read more about her sister Jasmine more.

Great book

I really enjoyed this story, and the characters were very entertaining and believable. I loved the chemistry between Wayne and Leslie it was smoking hot. 🔥 Their journey was full of drama and romance. Wayne truly loved Leslie and showed her, and he was a true gentleman. The mean girls were true to form, glad they did not win. I highly recommend this book to my fellow romance readers you will not be disappointed.

1.5⭐️

The blurb of the book drew me and I think because my expectations were soo high, I was very underwhelmed by the book. I’m sure it’s good for someone else reading the book but it didn’t do it for me unfortunately. It was written too formally for my taste and the drama was too much. I liked the first few chapters but half way through I was skipping because I realised it wasn’t for me.

I absolutely loved reading how Wayne and Leslie’s love story unfolded. I thought it was a refreshing take on a romantic story. Yet I hated the mean girl aspect of the text, and especially the character Jasmine. I honestly didn’t think the storyline needed it or her role either. However, I still think it’s worth reading just to see the way Wayne loved on that woman 🥵🥵🥵

Touching

I am going to say that I like this author. I think she can convey the chemistry and loyalty of a couple when they realize that the universe has aligned itself with them. I await Jasmine story, she’s the hot sauce in this book.

Trust love wins

I loved just how dedicated Wayne and Leslie were to each other. Their personality were not over the top and the romance was the kind that makes reading a romance novel a journey into another world so much fun to read.

Good

A good read with great characters. I was a little disappointed with the storytelling as I've read better from this author, that said I enjoyed it.

Their life in the public eye

Wayne tried his best to protect his fiancee Leslie for two years on the advice of his brother Eddie. Eddie still had not gotten over what happened to he and his wife being in the public eye. Leslie felt as though Wayne was ashamed of her but that was the furthest from the truth. Once her being attached to Wayne was known, she realized what Wayne and Eddie were talking about. Her sister Jasmine had her back though. She was a firecracker who didn't mind using the brass knuckles.

Social media was brutal and Wayne read them the riot act but there were still persons who wanted to destroy him. His investigation of his betrayal hurt but had to be dealt with, but Wayne and Leslie had family to support them. I just loved her sassy sister Jaz and Wayne's mother and godmother.

NOTE: This book was listened to in sync with Amazon's "Virtual Voice." It was ok but there was no warmth to the reader. If they can manage to have both male and female voices in a book, that may help give a more realistic listen. The Kindle Fire's "text to speech" is much better to me.
