***ARC Read***

The 5th book in the Curvy & Decadent series is the story of Sara and Gautam. Madly in love not yet to convey,  always there for each other but yet have many confusions, want to be together but yet to acknowledge.

Rajeev has chosen Ryan for Sarah but what he is unaware of is his younger daughter Amelia and Ryan are already in love with each other. And when he announced it to them Gautam felt broken but the situation was so tangled that nobody acknowledged it right away. Ryan's accident allowed Amu to open her heart in front of Rajeev and things got placed.

But Gautam has a dreadful past which is unknown to Sara and he is still not comfortable sharing that yet. Will this secret ruin their love?  Or is Sara too shocked to learn about his past? 

Dee James has kept it simple and more real when it comes to affection and chemistry. You could see sparks of hot romance and some very appreciative scenes. I love the flow and how it allows you to read in one setting as it's not too lengthy.

📚 Book 5 in the Curvy and Decadent series. Can be read as a standalone too.

📚 The story is about Gautam and Sara, Who are instantly attracted to each other at a chance encounter at her father Rajeev Varma's party.

📚 Sara runs the Cafe cum bookstore Curvy and Decadent along with her sister Amelia.

📚 Gautam works with his friend and business acquaintance Ryan Malhotra, Also Amelia's husband.

📚 After their meet-cute at the party Gautam and Sara become very good friends. However, they are unable to express their feelings to each other due to their insecurities.

Will Gautam and Sara be able to overcome their fears and express their feelings for each other? What are their insecurities? Will Gautam's secrets let him have a HEA?

A short and light read. I read it in one sitting. I have always loved the way Deejames portrays her female characters. Her writing style is simple and engaging. The concept of a cafe and a romance bookstore is mesmerizing. There are times when all you want is your girl gang and that is crafted well in this story. Overall a nice read.

Sara is a bookshop/cafe co-owner along with her sister. She is the daughter of a rich fashion designer, however she does not fit into his world of glamor. She is plus size and shy. She is usually closed off and does not make friends easily.
She meets a gorgeous man at her father’s launch party.
Gautam is sweet, successful and is hiding a secret. He thinks he is unworthy of someone so pure and sweet as Sara and tries to only remain a friend.
However when her father tries to arrange a marriage for her, Gautam realizes he needs to act now or lose her forever.
I so loved this sweet story. Gautam tries so hard to protect Sara from his past. He is embarrassed by what he had to do and doesn’t want to taint her beautiful soul.
Sara is so understanding and she loves Gautam. He is the only one who can’t forgive himself.

The issue is his trauma, not her curves
Sara blames her size as why someone wouldn't want her which is bullshit but not being desired by anyone in your formative years (when people first start dating, so maybe 15 to 25) can mess you up in a special sort of way. Her basically crying "it's because I'm fat isn't it?" anytime he pulled away got tedious really fast. She came off as really immature with him and overly people pleasing with her family. The pacing was kinda weird, there was more attention on her sister's story than hers at some parts and in a novella it was just unnecessary. Gautam has trauma he has to work through which make him come across as hot and cold towards Sara. It's a good thing this was so short because I'm not sure I could have forced my way through more of it.

Sara's insecurities and Gautam's past keeps them away from sharing their feelings.

I really liked Sara and Gautam's story and how it gradually takes shape.
I love how Dee james books always say a lot in less words.
