The only color I've ever been allowed to wear is red.
My grandfather says it's a warning to others that I'm impure. That I have the devil inside me. When he catches me reading Cosmo and wearing makeup, he takes me to a remote mountain cabin with enough food to last through winter. Between the howling wolves and the bears at the door, it's clear I won't make it that long. Then, a bearded mountain man as big as a grizzly comes along wielding a shotgun and I know in my heart, he's here to protect me. Except he says this is his mountain and I belong to him now. Have I just traded one devil for another? Or, will my sins be washed away by love?
Author's A little impurity might be just what you need! In fact, I'm sure of it, so get your read on with this uber, over-the-top romp in the woods with a hero that takes what he wants and a heroine who deserves a new start. The steam in this quick read starts out fast and never lets up. Let's get it on!
The Palate Teaser Series...want a quicky? For 99 pennies? Then grab a treat... I got you with these standalone Palate Teaser novellas! They are designed for those who love a low angst, extremely high heat, no cheating, palate-cleansing treat. The heroes are over the top and obsessed with their one and only. These are trope-heavy, taboo-friendly, and are designed to make you squirm. So, suspend reality for a bit and get ready for some twisted fun, a happily ever after, and a smile.
Since I was a little girl, I’ve made up stories. I would lay in my bed at night and before I knew what a trope was, I would make up these trope filled stories. Boy sees girl, boys falls for girl, boy saves girl….happily ever after. As I got older, the stories turned steamier and more intricate, but the basics never changed.
Now, my books are still full of romance but the naughty bits are naughtier, my hero’s are obsessed alpha types and my heroines are quirky, real women who come in all shapes and sizes.
So, sit back, banish the real world and get lost in some over the top romance with a heaping helping of hot. xoxoxo
This story was terrible. A grown man coercing a child into sex by way of manipulating her through her (very obvious) religious trauma and the threat of dying alone in the wilderness. He played on her religious trauma even more by degrading her and calling her a wh0re, sl-t, and sinner just to keep her believing she’s worthless. His inner monologue is so gross, he addresses the fact that she’s a little girl, and a few pages later is only thinking about her birthing his child. He sees her as nothing more than a sex toy and an incubator. I don’t care how this author tries to save the story with the “happy” ending. Boohoo this grotesque monster was abused by his dad, that doesn’t make any of it okay, romanticizing coercing a child into sex. She literally calls herself a kid, she’s in high school. And yuck, the first sex scene is so hard to read. So unrealistic, cold and uncaring, just using her and telling her to suck it up when she’s screaming in pain and yelling at him that it hurts so much. Her inner monologue sounds like that of a brainwashed cult member. I did read the whole book, so nobody can pretend “it gets better”. It doesn’t, it gets worse. He calls her a mare for breeding and says he’ll forgive her sins if she swallows. (I don’t mind breeding kinks usually, but again, this is a high school student) Baffling really. But I guess if you enjoy the idea of sexually manipulating a brainwashed child, this book is for you.
Quickie Review: This was a wild read. And I mean that in the best possible way. So wild, I totally tore through it quickly, devouring it all. A great smutty little book that gave me my mountain man fix (and all my favorite dirty little tropes) that I have been desperately needing recently. Great read, looking forward to more by Wyatt. 5 Stars
Woo hoo! That was hot... and a little disturbing if that happened in real life. But for fantasy sake, that was right up my alley.
Somehow I've forgotten how to review a book now, so bear with me. It was basically smut, hence little I could say about it. A girl was left alone in a cabin up in the mountains by her over-religious grandfather and some guy found her and had his wicked, very wicked, way with her. It was very dirty and sinful. Also, my favourite trope/kink is here. I'll let you guess what it is. *wink wink*

“Take me out,” he commands, and my hands are on the buckle of his belt before he can exhale.
I work the leather through as I hold my breath and Davis’s hand brushes my hair back from my forehead. “You are such a good girl, doing as you’re told. Pleasing me.”
My trembling fingers battle with the zipper, the pressure from his erection forcing the teeth wide open in a fury and Davis lets out a loud moan of relief.
Davis nods, pointing toward my chest. “Unzip. Take your tits out, so I can see them bounce when I’m fucking that apology out of your throat.”
…Curses rain down on me as I slip the seeping head between my lips, looking up to see Davis’s eyes roll back.
“Yes. Fuck, yes.” He groans as I tongue the underside of the head in that little v spot.

I drive myself back onto his steel, wanting more, more of what he’s giving me.
This book took me for a ride, literally. 😉 There was so much to uncover in this book, and I was all for it. The further I read, the more I couldn't wait to tear through a new layer of secrets and flaming passion. Sometimes. Not to mention the steam. God, let me tell you. This book will have you fanning your red cheeks while shifting around in your seat.
Honest summary review. Tw. There are spoilers beyond this point. The way this book talked about Christianity and God almost had me pushed away from the book. Due to the fact that I'm not Christian, I never read Christian related books. Not until now at least. It shows you fairly quickly just how far her grandfathers push to save her sins from whatever her mother's life before her created. A mother passed, and you're the sin left behind kind of deal. Then you meet David, and oh. Oh boy does he get you flustered up quickly, if you're into his type. Releasing his inner anger and shoving down emotions he really should've faced years ago. His secrets, oh boy do they get you on the edge waiting for the writer to finally give you that final piece of detail. I didn't expect it to be the secret, which I won't be saying. You can read to find out. It really put more into his character and personality, and I was all for it. I loved his personality and how well written he was.
And while I did give 5/5 stars, I will say that I had one flaw from this book. That being that some small parts were hard to understand, or read along to. I would have to go back and reread a scene to hopefully better understand what just happened. But that's okay, it was a tiny flaw out of a whole book, and for that It Definitely deserves 5 ⭐ to me. Warning. The last 3ish chapters of the book are mainly steam, it does tell the story still. But there was so much steam. It was like a random one eighty. Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Plot: 💋💋💋💋💋
ABANDONED ON HIS MOUNTAIN: A Possessive Mountain Man, Instant Love Romance, With a lot of Steamy Scenes. It is a Novella by Dani Wyatt. Poor Marin has been raised by a tyrant of a grandfather. It's when he realizes she is all alone and not dressed for mountain weather, that he has found an angel, he decides to keep her as his own.
Holy Crap! This book is a 12 🔥🌶⭐!! So first off this story was incredibly relatable for me because of Marins fanatical grandfather. Davis and Marin each have their own inner traumatic Demons and how they end up freeing each other from their own torture is epic. As you read you ask yourself how are they going to get through it all and get to their HEA. Marin and Davis bring each other to their knees with their need for one another. I absolutely am a forever fan of Dani Wyatt she totally upped her game on the spice factor with this one which is hard to imagine. Especially if you've read some of her other stories. Note: If you were raised and brought up to believe that reading spicy books is a sin or told they are filth maybe you should take a chance on this one it might actually give you a new perspective. Just sayin' 😘
Was this book good? No But was it a silly fun time? Yes
There a few tropes in this like an age gap (she’s 18 he’s 25 but for some reason he acts like he’s 40) she’s also a virgin, and there’s also a breeding kink
This definitely a 90% smut 10% plot kind of read so make sure you go in knowing that bc mans had a boner for her the second he laid eyes on her lmao
I’m fine with age gap romances but sometimes when the mc is in her late teens it’s easy for things to get weird. Like I wasn’t at all into Davis constantly calling her a little girl and talking to/about her as if she’s a child. Fortunately it’s not like that for too long and once they’re together it’s just silly fun times. Again this is heavy on the spice but I will say the little plot that there was was good as well as their respective back stories.
So far I'm really enjoying Dani's new series of steamy short book! Not only are the stories great but the fact that she's pricing them at .99 is wonderful 👏🙌!! I believe this is the most obsessive and br€€ding focused H she's ever written. From the second that Marin and Davis meet, at the cabin in the woods, there is heat and it carries on throughout the whole book. Davis has a secret and he's so scared of Marin finding out because she'll leave him but her love is unconditional. I love that Marin loves and accepts Stevie, Davis's disabled brother, as soon as she meets him. They become fast friends. I would love Dani to write her first MM book about Stevie and Paul, Stevie's physical therapist!!
I am leaving my honest review for a complimentary copy of this book via the author.
Marin grew up with a super religious grandfather that made her life kind of hard. He taught her she was sin and temptation and had to repent for her sins. He abandoned her on a mountain and that's where she meets Davis. Davis lives on a mountain with his injured brother and with a bunch of displeasure of people. He meets Marin and is instantly obsessed with the sweet but kind of naive woman. He found her and now he won't give her up, but will she stay when she discovers his secrets?? Instalove, age gap, OTT, romantic steamy hot(the talk was *chefs kiss* 🥵), with an interesting side story and safe with an awesome HEA 😍😍😍
Loved this one! Sheltered, innocent heroine is abandoned by her grandfather and hero finds her, takes her and keeps her.
So much SWOON! Loved how possessive and obsessed hero was for heroine. He’s terrified of her finding out a terrible secret he holds and leaving him. But she ain’t going anywhere! She loves him and is gonna stick with him! I also loved that the hero was caring for his disabled brother and the heroine was immediately accepting.
Safe. Hero’s past is very briefly mentioned but he’s been mostly celibate. Heroine is a virgin and belongs only to her hero. No others, no cheating or sharing. HEA with epilogue
If you want a short and spicy book, then this is the one for you. Davis has dirty talking down and Marin is here for it..(me too) Marin finds herself in a tough situation and Davis comes up on the scene and isn't happy she is there... That's until he sees her..then he wants her to be his forever...and slowly she learns falling in love isn't a bad thing... But what happens when her grandfather tries to take her away? When Marin finds out Davis didn't tell her all his secrets, can she forgive him?
0.5/5 Hot garbage. MMC is disputable and the FMC is nothing but religious trauma and beauty and innocence. It was toxic, abusive, and non consensual. He compared her to a horse and uses her. The first sex scene was miserable to read; she was crying out in pain and he essentially raped her. A true horrorscape of literary bullshit.
Literally only finished so I could officially say it does not get better and this is the worse book ever.
10 year epilogue with kids. Lots of breeding. Murder. Horrible man. Traumatized woman. No OMD/OWD.
I was happy to have the book be whatever it wanted to be and just plug along. Then she got a positive pregnancy test after one day of conception. That doesn't exist. That's not a thing. It doesn't happen. It's not possible, and not in a "madly in love and in a book healthy relationship after a few hours" kind of fantasy way, but rather in a "we all live on planet Earth and the sky is blue" kind of basic fact way. Willful suspension of disbelief is one thing, that was just....no.
All her life Marin has been told she has the Devil in her and she is a temptress. Her grandfather decides she needs to learn humility, so he dumps her in a rundown cabin in the middle of nowhere with a few supplies in the dead of winter and tells her he'll come for her in the Spring if she survives. Davis is a cantankerous man who has a lot on his plate, so when he finds a tresspasser on his land he's not happy. But when he gets closer and sees she's an angel he decides she will be his forever. This is a great read!!
When Marin is dumped by her hyper religious, self rightous grandfather in a cabin in the woods to repent for her sins, she understands why but never thought she might be found by a mountain Man. Davis is an insomniac and when he goes out for a walk he finds a trespasser, he does not understand why this gorgeous woman might be doing there. Their journey to an HEA is sensuous, sexy and so full of love.
Should have had trigger warnings. DNF. Abandoned on his mountain is a 140-page story by Dani Wyatt. This is the first and last book I will ever read by this author. I could not get past the manipulation and coercion used by the male character towards the much younger female character, who was already a victim of her grandfather's abuse and brain-washing around religion. I have read and enjoyed some dark romances, but I just could not stomach this one. I can not recommend this book.
So yes writing style is good and overall story was good especially the intimate scene, however the H over the top everything especially in the beginning was borderline uncomfortable...felt like a predator and not in a sexy way...Just made me feel ugh and actually ended up skipping some parts...Also grandfather was abusive and needed to be in jail or thrown somewhere not allowed back into the folds or whatever, very unrealistic.
At like 18% wirting wasnt very good & honestly neither was the story. Fmc couldn't form a single word because all she could think of was licking the mmc's chest- this is about 45 seconds after meeting g him after she's caught squatting in his remote cabin. Literally he's asking her questions & she can't speak (huge pet peeve & lazy writing).
Also author described the mmc has having a "harsh jutting forehead ".. Wth does that even mean?
I loved Davis and Marin. This was such a quick and dirty read. Marin's grandfather drags her to a cabin after finding her wearing clothes he finds wrong and makeup. He dumps her there, where Davis finds her since it's on his land. From there, the real fun begins as Davis claims her and brings her back to his house. Lots of heat, recommend for a good, fun read.
I didn’t love this book. And I lover Wrangler by this author. I don’t like when books have the virgin scene as rough, and not sentimental between the FMC and MMC.
I did like that it came out that he knew who she was, and the voicemail from the grandfather.
But the fact that the grandfather got to stick around after all that, some stuff just wasn’t realistic for me.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
A little bit more on the raunchy side, then what I usually read. Davis, however has a lot of redeeming qualities deep beneath all his personal demons. Sephey is so screwed up in her head from being raised like she was, that she responded to Davis and his crude way of handling her, physically, and emotionally.
