My first read of Litany Burn's book "Develop Your Psychic Abilities" was in the early '80's while I was seeking a book for my ESP #1 students in San Francisco. Although I had a few books on hand to choose from, nothing compared to Ms. Burns easy, simple to follow and along with excellent examples of how to develop and strengthen one's ESP abilities. My students loved this book also. I highly recommend it to anyone starting out or even if one knows of her or his psychic talents, to have this book on your bookshelf.
I couldn't resist buying this book when I saw it for sale at a local charity shop. I figure, what with all the spying going on these days and a lack of online security, maybe it would be better to learn how to communicate telepathically and avoid all the hassle of having my communications intercepted and stored in the cloud or whatever. In any case, I learned a little bit about ghosts, spirits, and guides as well as the different forms of psychic powers we all supposedly possess. Maybe it's time to hone my skillz and level up. Why limit myself to the same ol' same ol'?
An easy read with wonderful exercises to develop your own psychic impressions. In fact with Ms. Burn's permission this book was not only one book I recommended but used the games while teaching my ESP classes. People loved the games and found they actually worked! The Skye in June
I would’ve appreciated more details in certain things, such as “gut response”. She simply says to ask oneself questions and wait for a gut response but does not explain what that feels like. I suppose it is hard to describe how it feels but as a how-to guide, I didn’t feel that it aided me tremendously.
It was a nice encyclopedia of different forms of intuitive knowing and spiritual tools.
Overall I just got a feeling of: there is no how, just get out of your own way and do it. And don’t think.
I don’t even think that was her message. It’s just what I took from it.
1.5 stars, this book was awful. It was way too repetitive and it took me forever to get through because it was so boring. You’d think with a topic like this it would be interesting but it was written distastefully. At least i learned some new stuff from the book though
This was a great book at the time that I read it. It was during a time of the discovery of my phenomenal abilities that blew my mind. I taught myself how to do psychometry from this book. I was astonished at just how easy it was to do. Although I no longer practice this type of skill due to overdrive and the dangers that can be involved, at this time in my youth, I was amazed, walking on cloud nine. It's not what you believe; it's what you know, what you are capable of, and your level of consciousness.
Don't. Just Don't. Repetitive and misguided. The author has no concept of the danger of some of the things she discusses, and naively states that there is no need to fear any of the activities she attempts to teach. She discusses balance, so I would tell her, where there is light there is also shadow, and there is always danger when dealing with both. Always be safe and protect yourself...something she neglects to tell her readers.
Turns out many psychic abilities I can use on an unconscious level. Many abilities are far beyond me or seem very unbelievable. Lots of reference to balanced energy.. very little about positive energy techinques. It could be a lot more positive instead of written as a boring clinical text.
Ummm, didn't like. Really not into this type of stuff. Just read for a bookclub that picked it out but the club fell apart before we could finish our first book!
