"I can't stop thinking about what you said; someone else could, someone else would love me like I deserve. And I'm not going to ask you to be that person when you said yourself you can't be her, and even more so, that you don't want to be her." In her debut poetry collection, Valeria Rosito explores the process of loving, losing, healing, and rediscovering herself through heartbreak. The book was written almost entirely during the 2020 lockdown and pandemic, and its influence is notable throughout the collection. With an extremely raw and honest voice, the author has bared her soul in these poems, with hopes you can see yourself in some of these pages. Know that no matter what you're feeling, you're not alone in the emotion.
Goodreads review right love wrong time This awesome, marvellous, precious and adorable book was written by Valeria Rosito
This book is great, it is poetic and very deep, very mature, very helpful, and a greatly inspiring text. This book is about a deep love, but sadly, at the wrong time. Valeria Rosito is a Guatemalan dancer, writer, teacher, and personal coach. She is deeply loved by her students because of her unconditional care and because she is a trustworthy person who will guard your secrets no matter what.
She is a lesbian, and her book is about a relationship she had with her ex. And all her plans, her emotions, her life in general. She was first called a lesbian in school at an early age. After a long time, when she had not seen her best friend, she ran to hug her, but her friend moved away and started to call her a lesbian because of that. Another memorable thing in the book, is that she planed to have a picnic with her ex (in present because at that moment they liked each other and they were togather), and play 30 questions, in the last questions she would ask things like is there something you want to do but that you have not done yet? (Then it would be the perfect opportunity to kiss her.) Or do you want to be my girlfriend? and so. Something I absolutely love about that book is that the writer took the time to put a post-it note on each book with a different challenge, mine was to do pancakes with ice cream and send a picture to her via Instagram (@valeriarosito), which I believe is really special. Well, for of these things I have mentioned before, this book may be one of my favourites at the moment.
This book is very important to me because it helped me to sort out a difficult moment involving a girl in my life and it helped me understand that time and sort it out.
This book changed me as a reader and as a person by letting me explore poetry written in english and a more deep and meture language but still mantaining it professional wich has helped me a lot in my development of the english language. Also as a person, this book inspired me to write my own book wich will be out very soon and it is also poetry but with the difference that it is about a lot of things I have reflectioned and thought about.
This booked introduced me, as I said, onto this new genere of english poetry and romantic poetry wich I believe it si a great field and now that I think about it this book could also fit onto the self help category, then it is great.
I would recomend this book to anyone who has an advanced knowledge of english (for the latin standard), and anyone who feels like he needs a hand to sort out his love life
