I got it when I was about ten (likely in 1998, maybe early 1999), I think through book order. It turned out that my circumstances at the time meant I couldn't use it for actual parties, although, being the shy, introverted type, that didn't faze me. I still loved reading through it. I had it for years. I enjoyed looking through it. I thought the book was fascinating. It's very colorful and creative, and it got my imagination running, LOL.
I remember I tried some of the snack & breakfast ideas, such as one breakfast idea was to take a tortilla, layer it with cream cheese, then layer it with jelly, and then roll it up. Yes, that disgusting-sounding idea is a real idea in the book, and it's not bad, LOL! I still eat that on occasion, nearly thirty years later. :)
This book was looked through and used to the point where I'm surprised it hasn't come unbound. My sister and I used to drool over the different party themes and loved doing birthday party brainstorms when we were younger. :)
I wonder if this is the book that inspired my sister and me to do awesome slumber party things like dance the Macarena, wear dress up hats, and record radio shows on my pink boom box. I guess I'll have to reread it to find out.
