There's no shortage of victims in my work with the Cerberus MC.

When I first met Brielle Adair, she had just witnessed a family tragedy.

She was broken, betrayed, and terrified that her end was near.

She chose to curl up in a frightened ball in my closet, and I chose to let her stay there.

My own history told me not to force her to do anything. She had to make those decisions on her own.

In order to start healing, she had to trust me, but knowing the lifestyle she was raised in, I didn't know if trusting her was the smart thing to do.

Does she really need our help, or is every tear and whimper a form of manipulation?

With the way I get lost in her pretty eyes, in the end, will it even matter?

Ahh this book had me seriously questioning if I liked Brielle….
I admired Beck and his honesty, after everything he had been through I loved his character.
The way Ms James portrays the trauma and Brielle’s demons was really well presented but I struggled with her dependency on Beck. I needed more of her actual character rather than just the traumatised person. I wanted to get to see more of her true personality coming through once she felt she was safer. I was shouting at her in my head when she pulled her little stunt…. However, that’s what I really enjoy about this authors stories….you aren’t going to like all her characters or agree with the way they behave or act, and yet despite this I always come away with a respect for them.
She certainly doesn’t shy away from the tough stuff either!

This is a really pivotal story, as although we are leaving Cerberus MC behind there are so many loose ends and hanging questions that I’m assuming will be carried over to Hemlocks story….
Mmm Hemlock, now there’s a character who we really need to know more about…. That little tease has certainly got my interest piqued for Tennessee !

I loved this book!! Newton just made it to one of my favorites of men that Marie James has written! I love all the men of Cerberus, but some do stick out more than others... They hit a little harder and steal your heart.

This is a great story, but it leaves you with a couple of unanswered questions.
I love the characters and their chemistry. They both have some trauma that they are trying to overcome from childhood.
There is nothing better than having someone to hold your hand during your time of finding the light. And that is what these two do for each other.

OH! MY! GOODNESS! GRACIOUS! 🔥🔥🔥🔥

I could not wait for this one to come out in paperback or KU so I grabbed it and dove in as soon as it became available on Kindle Velle. I don’t necessarily like Velle but for my favorite authors, I’ll do it. And I am SO glad I didn’t wait!!!!!

I, quite literally, held my breath multiple times while reading, squealed with delight, cried real tears, felt the heartache, had to take a walk to reset myself, cheered and clapped and definitely picked my jaw up off the floor. This one is going to take you on a WILD ride.

As with all Cerberus MC novels, I don’t suggest reading them as stand alone books. This is an intricately woven world that ties characters and storylines and series together. These characters become dear friends that you swear must be real people.

Newton and Brielle’s story is not easy or pretty but it is SO worth going along with them on their way to their HEA. So much action, drama and storyline - lots I’m still unpacking. There is plenty of the super spicy good stuff too!!!!

I absolutely love these 2. Newton is the ultimate book boyfriend and has firmly rooted himself in my top 5 characters within the Marie James universe. He’s simply amazing. Every girl deserves to have the kind of love & care he provides for Brielle.

You’ll end up wanting to wrap Brielle in bubble wrap to keep her protected. She’s been through more than what most people can even fathom surviving. I love her bravery and heart. Even with what she has had to endure - she still tries to protect everyone around her.

To say that I loved this book is a huge understatement. This is one that will stick for a while. I wish I could leave more than 5 stars.

Fantastic!!!

This is the end of the Cerberus New Mexico Chapter series with it being book thirty-one. You would think after this many books things would be redundant and lose a little luster but this is far from the case. Newton was just as fresh and thrilling as the very first book.

Newton and Brielle were a great couple only because of the way they were able to bond over their childhood tragedies. They had insight into what many would never fully understand. The patience that Newton had was awe inspiring.

This has been one of my go-to MC series I’ve read because it always came with men who were honorable and loved their women fully. The good they tried to do in the world made them heroes.

I can honestly say that I highly recommend not only this book but the rest of the books in this series as well. I am so looking forward to the Tennessee Chapter which is coming next for the men and women of Cerberus.

This CerberusMC instalment definitely highlighted the darker aspects of evil. Fists clenched tight of the time whilst reading what people are capable of, and have endured in order to survive such atrocious behaviour. Newton and Brielle have both respectively survived horrifying upbringings and find a kindred soul in the other person. Love the acceptance of new characters into the family that is the CerberusMC even if they themselves doubt their lovability.

NEWTON is the thirty-first instalment in Marie James’ contemporary, adult CERBERUS MC romantic suspense series focusing on former US Marine Beck ‘Newton’ Keller and Brielle Adair. NEWTON can be read as a stand alone but for back story and cohesion I recommend reading the series in order as there is an ongoing premise throughout.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers as the Cerberus MC ferret out and take down suspected human and sexual trafficking rings.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Brielle and Beck) NEWTON follows in the wake of the escape of our story line heroine from the men who had used and abused her for most of her life. Seeking refuge, Brielle discovers she is unable to remain in Ohio, and finds herself in Texas, at a women’s shelter protected by the Cerberus MC but one year later, Brielle’s past has discovered her whereabouts, and this threatens all of the women with whom she has grown close and loved. As the Cerberus MC quickly moves and relocates all of the women and children, Brielle finds herself under the protection of Beck ‘Newton’ Keller, the man with whom she will fall in love but Brielle continues to struggle with the ever present fear of being discovered, and the truth about what she was forced to do and why. What ensues is the building but tepid relationship between Brielle and Beck, and the potential fall-out when Brielle’s past returns forcing our heroine to reject the man that she loves.

The world building continues to focus on the Cerberus MC and their duty to protect the most vulnerable; to search and rescue those missing or lost; and to recover and return those unable to defend themselves.

The relationship between Brielle and Beck is trepidatious at best. Brielle is unable to trust Beck or any other person she encounter in her life, and in this, Brielle often secludes herself from everyone else. Days will pass before Brielle is able to acknowledge the man who is desperate to protect our story line heroine but Beck knows all to well the damage cause and inflicted by the people who were meant to love and protect. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters include several members of the Cerberus MC Texas, as well as several law enforcement officials and agencies. The requisite evil has many faces.

NEWTON is a story of betrayal and vengeance, power and control, good and evil, secrets and lies, family and friendships, acceptance and love. The premise is emotional and dramatic-at times I could not foresee a happily ever after for our story line couple ; the romance is heart breaking; the characters are broken but determined. NEWTON also introduces the start of a new spin-off series focusing on a new charter of the Cerberus MC in Tennessee with Hemlock.

Newton (Cerberus MC Book 31) by Marie James is the last book in the New Mexico series about an elite group of former marines contacted by various branches of the government to track and rescue the victims of the human trafficking trade worldwide. Newton's story is about a Cerberus member, whose real name is Beck, and Brielle, who had been living at a local women's shelter. With the help of an undercover government agent, Brielle, who is a survivor of horrifying emotional, mental, physical, and sexual trauma, miraculously escaped her stepbrother, Xan, and stepfather, Nathan Adair, a notorious crime boss who had been abusing her since he adopted her as a young child. She ended up in the women's shelter close to the Cerberus compound. Brielle, who had never ventured outside the confines of the women's shelter, was tracked down by her stepfather, and her abduction led to a rescue mission by Cerberus. They were able to rescue Brielle and Oracle's wife Beth from where Xan, Brielle's stepbrother, was holding the women. Newton helped rescue and comfort Brielle, who stayed in his room after returning to Cerberus headquarters. Brielle was so frightened that she got in Newton's closet and would only eat unopened or sealed food that could not be tampered with. Only after Beck demonstrated to Brielle with his gentle coaxing and kindness did she come out of the closet to go out of the room to other living areas like the sitting rooms and kitchen and be around other people. Beck's patience and gentleness grew from a place of empathy since he is an actual cinnamon roll hero with childhood trauma triggers.
The more time Brielle and Newton/Beck spend together, the more prominent their attraction for one another becomes. Brielle is not sure she can ever truly trust another person, much less fall in love. Beck wonders if Brielle is playing him since she is the stepdaughter of a criminal. Will Brielle ever be truly safe? Will Brielle's stepfather Nathan, taken in police custody and extradited to Ohio for previous crimes, really see the inside of jail long term? What will happen to the budding romance between Brielle and Beck? Marie James can create a story that captivates her readers from the first page until the last page. Newton, book 31 in the Cerberus series may be the end of the original chapter of Cerberus, but a new East Coast chapter will be opened in the next book, Hemlock to increase the reach of men willing to keep fighting against the evil in the world. I also recommend that the reader check out Marie James's back catalog of books, which includes the 31 books in this series and additional short series or standalone stories. I have read them all. There are many audiobook companions to go with the books Marie James has written. They are worth listening to as each narrator brings the books to life.

Newton is a little bittersweet with this being the final book in the original Cerberus MC series. Newton and Brielle's story is one that is heartbreaking and also beautiful all at the same time. Brielle has suffered at the hands of her stepfather and stepbrother for years and years. The trauma, terror and scars that she has suffered at the hands of people that should have cared for her is enough to leave her feeling broken. Newton will steal your heart in the way that he can relate to her and the way that he understands and cares for her. He sees past the broken to the woman that is worth loving, protecting and saving. Their story will have you on the edge of your seat, your heart in your throat and praying that Brielle can finally have a life that she deserves. I will be honest I shed a few tears for both Brielle and Newton as this emotional roller coaster took my heart on one hell of a ride. Their story leaves your heart full and eager for the new chapter of Cerberus. For me this isn't a goodbye to the men and women of Cerberus that we have fallen in love with but a see you later.

Newton is book 31 and the last book of the AMAZING Cerberus MC in the New Mexico series written by the talented author Marie James. This is one book I will happily read again and again. This series are beyond binge worthy. This is Newton ( Beck ) and Brielle Adair story! We met Brielle in Beth & Oracle’s story. She was tortured for most of her life by her stepfather and stepbrother. I absolute love the journey of this two together, chemistry was hot. Beck and Brielle have both some trauma from their past childhoods. The story line was intense and a bit darker but at the same time has the perfect mix of all the elements we love in her books; lots of action, danger, suspense, trauma, secrets, drama, lots of emotions, loyalty, trust, hope, respect, family and romance. How does she continue to give us these amazing characters going through astounding events and all the feelings?
NO SPOILERS, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED IT!!!
I am sad to let go of this chapter but can't wait to read Hemlock’s story in the new Cerberus MC Tennessee chapter.

The newest addition to the series shows readers a glimpse into the darker side of Cerberus MC’s world. Newton can be read as a stand-alone, however, to get the best reading experience and see just how intricately woven these characters and their storylines are, I recommend you start at the beginning.

Newton is the last book in the New Mexico Chapter and brings readers Beck aka Newton and Brielle’s story. The pair meet when Beck is tasked with escorting Brielle back to the clubhouse after a rescue mission involving one of Cerberus’ own sees Brielle witness what some would consider a family tragedy. Brielle immediately seeks solace within the confines of the closet in Beck’s room to begin with, however with some gentle coaxing from Beck she soon ventures into other areas such as the kitchen and living areas of the clubhouse where there are others around. The pair spend a considerable amount of time together and their attraction to one another grows with each passing day. Beck was extremely patient with Brielle, and that patience came from a place of empathy, he suffered childhood trauma himself, albeit different from Brielle’s trauma over the years, he could sympathise with her. Despite their blossoming relationship, both have their doubts, Beck wonders if there’s a possibility that Brielle could be playing him after all she is the stepdaughter of a very dangerous man. As for Brielle, she’s honestly not sure if can trust another person let alone fall in love, there’s also the worry of whether or not she’ll ever truly be safe from her stepfather, he may be in police custody about to be extradited to Ohio but what are the chances of him seeing the inside of a jail cell long term?

Join Beck and Brielle as they navigate their way towards a happily ever after, their journey’s neither easy nor pretty but it’s one worthy of reading. A fantastic emotion-filled storyline with lots of action and, spiciness too 😉 A fantastic way to bow of out the New Mexico Chapter, here’s to the new one.

Ok!! When I started this series, I never thought there would be 31 books, and 31 books that kept my interest throughout the Cerberus MC!!

We get Beck "Newton" Keller and Brielle Adair's story.
After escaping a troubled and abusive life, Brielle is sent to a woman's shelter to live and befriends one of the Cerberus members' girls, Beth. But when Beth and Brielle are taken by the men who abused her, in steps Cerberus. Beck is chosen to keep Brielle safe.

Beck has his own traumatic past and with his patience and support, he works hard to gain Brielle's trust and eventually falls in love with her.

While they both are trying to heal from the past, the present and future are still a mystery. Will Brielle ever get through her trauma, even with her step father supposedly watching her every move or will she finally get the peace of mind she deserves? And will Newton keep proving his love for her even though she's trying to push him away?

Another great story by Marie James!

Brielle needs protection, understanding, and patience. She hasn’t had an easy life and she’s learned to protect herself and erect a shield around herself and her heart. Will she ever find her true self or will she always have to fight and protect who she is?

Newton knows how a person can hide from the world by erecting walls and shields around them to protect themselves. He learned how as a young boy, but he was able to fight some of that and learned that not everyone was out to hurt him. Now he’ll show Brielle that she can drop her shields and let him in, but he’ll have to be patient with her.

I loved this story. I don’t think I’ve read a book yet by Marie James that I haven’t fallen in love with the characters or story. I can’t wait for the next chapter In Tennessee to come out.

Brielle and Newton grabbed me from the very beginning. I'm not sure what was different about these two characters from other Cerberus couples, but I couldn't put their story down. I ached for Brielle and the life she had to endure and the lack of trust she held close to her chest when the Cerberus MC shows up in her life. My heart broke for Newton as he relived his past while keeping eyes on Brielle, unable to convey that he understood her current position, but still have the need to coach her out of her insecurities and to learn to trust him.
I must say, the last sentence of the book, spoken by Kincaid, gutted me.
I have loved this series immensely. What a ride it has been for the author and the readers. I'm excited for the next chapter, Cerberus MC Tennessee.

Newton and Brielle seem like a totally different couple than the rest of the Cerberus MC Family, why I'm not sure but each of them had very long histories that allowed them to bond. The bonding didn't feel like they were necessarily all in until the end when it became clear that they could/would take any measure necessary to protect those around.
On the edge of my seat the entire time while reading waiting for Nathan to show up and make waves. Brielle's struggles with her fear and anxiety were front and center during the entire story while Beck had his own past history to deal with yet be supportive of her.
In the end they appear to get their HEA, but with the new series starting up who knows.....
Quite the suspenseful close of the New Mexico Cerberus.

"God, I love her and to think for a second that I'd want to stop is insane."

OMFG! Newton, aka Beck, is such a patient man. Good G*d! I don't even think that he knows how Brielle ends up in his room back at the clubhouse but he is not complaining. He knows that she has deep issues and also knows that maybe he can help since his childhood was a nightmare.

Brielle, this poor girl. The crap that her stepfather, Nathan, and stepbrother, Xan, put her through growing up is stuff you see on the evening news.

These two navigate a tight rope until they can or hopefully can trust each other. If you read Oracle, you all know what happened to Xan. Nathan has promised revenge.

Now.............Hemlock!! Let's Go!

Two scarred people

What a closing story to this part of the Cerberus stories. I know we will continue to see our beloved characters in the future spin off but it is always a little sad too. Marie didn’t disappoint in Newton’s tale. Each one just revs you up for the next.

Newton was finding his place in the MC when he was injured. Brielle was hiding in Cerberus’s safe house trying to forget where she came from. One tragic kidnapping will change everything.

These two share a past that helps them understand each other and what they need. It also keeps them from taking those final steps. Can you reach for eachother before her past catches up to her completely.

Brielle is under the protection of Cerberus. She lives in the house for abused women and we've met her previously. Hiding from her stepfather and his son, she does her best not to make friends. They've done a number on her and she knows what they're capable of so she doesn't want to make any connections, as hard as that is.

Newton recognizes what she's been through. They're like kindred spirits. They really belong together, but she doesn't feel like she deserves him. When trouble comes calling, everything will be put to the test.

I absolutely loved this final installment of this Cerberus Chapter. I've loved the journies we've been on, and it's bittersweet. I'm looking forward to hopefully getting glimpses into their lives in the future...we'll see what happens!

Cerberus MC Love, Love, Love it!!!

This series was absolutely great from Kincaid all the way thru to Newton, all 32.5 books are a MUST read!!!!!!! I told all my coworkers when I started this series that I wasn’t planning on reading every book but let’s say I’m very glad that I did & I’m going to miss everyone of these characters. So if you haven’t started this series yet I highly recommend you do right now & if you have make sure to read absolutely everyone of them.
Thank you Marie James for putting all of the Cerberus members & their loved ones in my heart!!!!! Hoping for a follow up & see how everyone’s Happily Ever After turns out as the years pass from Kincaid to Newton, it’s been a great 30+ years ❤️🖤

This is the last story to tell for this chapter of Cerberus and what a story it is!! The author did a great job with this story. Brielle had escaped her abusive stepfather and stepbrother, she was just tarting to get herself and her life together when her past catches up to her. Hiding in Newtons closet at the clubhouse, Brielle knows she can’t stay there forever. She fights her demons daily. Newton decides to try and help Brielle as much as he can as he knows how are it is to trust in others. This story has everything from heartbreak, tears, joy, fun and some steamy parts. You’re going to love it!

Bittersweet moment here as we come to the last book of the Cerberus New Mexico Series by Marie James. While I love each and everyone of these stories, it is great to see new characters come in and find a place within a group of men that work, eat, and sleep together.
This book holds lots of emotions inside so be prepared!
Brielle has had a rough life but she is saved by the club and just as victims in the past, she finds one man that gives her comfort and that is Newton. Newton does everything he can to make her feel safe and cared for, giving her life a totally different meaning!

This is it for this series, now let’s go to Tennessee and see what Marie James gives us here!

Newton is the finale for the New Mexico chapter of the Cerberus MC, and it did NOT disappoint! I absolutely loved getting to see Brielle get her happily ever after, with what she had gone through. Newton was so incredibly patient and kind with her as she worked through her issues. I loved the connection the two had, right from the start of the book. The spice was perfect for the plot line too! I will miss these characters being so prevalent in the stories, but I know we will see them in the Knoxville chapter occasionally.

A fantastic story and series!

This book picks up right after the last one, and it's certainly not a story that you'll want to miss! I would highly suggest reading the previous book prior to beginning this one, as they are heavily linked together. However, if you haven't already, I would suggest starting from the beginning. Yes, there are many books in this series, but each and every one are unique, passionate, and intriguing. It's not a series to be missed!
I love that Cerberus MC is going to continue growing!! I can't wait for the next release!
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.

Brielle's history, and not so far in the past experiences, have given her a perspective on life that is not sunshine and roses. She sees the darkness and the evil and the unfairness that only those who have endured (can I use that word?) have experienced. The one possible bright light is Newton. But can she trust that his intentions are honourable? Is his understanding and patience only a test for her to survive? This is the last in the Cereberus MC but members branch out into both the Lindell and the Tennessee MC series.

Newton is book 31 in the Cerberus MC by Marie James.. and this ia the final book in the original Cerberus MC series,,, oh what a sad sad day.. I have grown to love each and every one of these men and women!!

Newton and Brielle were phenomenal, both having a traumatic childhood.. but the way Newton stepped up to help and protect Brielle.. Brielle is reluctant to trust.. as she should, and newton is sooo patient with her. He wants and needs her trust.

So sad that is has come to a end but looking forward for the next chapter and can't wait to see what Marie brings us..

A beautiful and realistic journey

This is book 31, and obviously I am a fan of this series. It’s well written and realistic in the storylines. This book was tough to read because both lead characters suffered abuse as children and adults. Brielle, the lead female character, has been tortured and forced to do things by her stepfather. And Beck, had a mom that loved drugs more than her own son. Beck recognizes Brielle’s pain and wants to protect her and provide support. Check trigger warnings. Read On!

This story had me holding my breath and sitting on the edge of my seat at different points throughout the story! I was hooked and loved Beck! He was honest, open and vulnerable and given his past that was admirable. He was steadfast and refused to give up on Brielle no matter what. It made me fall harder for him. They both have to much but I’m glad they found each other. The breadcrumbs left have me excited for the next series! Marie writes awesome men and Beck is high on my list!

I cannot believe this is the last Cerberus book in the series. And what a way to go! Newton is one of the newest members and he helps to save Brielle. I couldn’t believe the emotions this book brought out in me. One minute I’m crying and the next I want to throw my book because I can’t believe what just happened! Then you get the sexy times are off the charts!
So I definitely recommend reading this book. Marie James has rocked it again.

Always a five

Marie James's Cerberus motorcycle club series is one of the very best out there! The first MC book I ever read was Kincaid and I have continued to read each book in the series as it comes out. She has created another original storyline in Newton. This book is exciting, sexy and emotional. Brielle has been abused her entire life and she struggles with trust issues. Newton is her salvation. You will love this story.
