I received an advanced copy of this book, which was well worth it. A delightful read from a young author, the story follows Claudia, a girl in first-century Rome, as she faces the persecution of Christian friends and the burning of her city. Not only was it a sweet story, but the historical information throughout it taught me a lot about ancient times and Christianity. When I wrote my endorsement, I meant every word: "What would it be like to give up everything for Jesus—even your family? 'Claudia: The Christians and the Burning of Rome' left me pondering that question. Told from such an innocent, heartfelt perspective, the story caused me to tear up multiple times. This book is perfect for any fan of ancient history, those who delight in the Biblical, and lovers of sweet stories." I recommend this book for any middle grade or YA history lover.
