It would have been nice to have a much longer story to get to know these men better, but if you’re in the mood for a hot, quick, fun story, I recommend!

Oh my goodness that was over so quickly, it felt like I had only taken one breath. Definitely interesting. Just a brief introduction to the two characters who meet on a dystopian Earth and negotiate for food. ... yes sex is their preferred currency 🤭 Well, I guess I'll have to read on if I want to know more than that they harmonize in bed and are attracted to each other. The dynamics are very appealing.

I've had this novella on my mind for quite some time and finally got to it. Wasn't disappointed - and that's a fucking big compliment.
The story is of a world after some kind of apocalypse where everything went to shit and now it's every man for himself. Kind of like in the Monstrous series. But here you trade your body for food. Isn't really appealing, I know, but.

Devon is a virgin so he doesn't know what he's really in for, he expects to be used and abused, but Rex shows him sex can be very pleasurable. They have a crazy night of hot sex when Rex's dominant streak comes out, so he takes Devon's virginity and the next day they part their ways.
Rex wants more than just a quick dip with this kid, but lets it go, because he can't think about love and attachment in this post-apocalyptic world they both have to survive in. Love is a luxury neither can afford.
"This boy submitted and I conquered. A simple transaction, yet so much more. As we drift off still entwined, a small voice whispers this is dangerous. I'm a lone wolf; attachment only impedes survival. But the primal part of me snarls in defiance, tightening our embrace."
Devon decides to follow Rex again, but this time he wants - sex. Yes, he wants sex. He needs food and he did survive in brutal circumstances for the past 6 years, but a feelgood sex is something that one doesn't find everyday in this world - if ever.
And he's lonely.
And he wants the older guy's company.
And he wants protection, even though he doesn't need it.
Basically he just wants to come again, can't blame the guy.
I really like both characters and I'm very intrigued as to where this will go. The sex was hot, both characters are vivid in my mind, so yeah, going to read the next installment now.

I can’t remember either of the main characters names but there is an age gap and the younger one has been stalking the older one in order to make a trade with him. This world is harsh and in order to survive one must do whatever takes but one night together isn’t enough for either of them. It was interesting enough that I’ll read the second one especially because I only need 6 more books to hit my reading goal and this is so short.

If there is a thing like dystopian porn then this is it. It's all about sex and we don't learn much about what happened to the world or why it went down but nevertheless it feels like there is a story which will be told eventually and is not only horizontal but until we learn more about it it's fun watching those 2 get to know each other or at least get to know the other body.

This book is about Devon an 18 year old virgin brat and Rex a 38 year old ex-military guy. They are both wandering on their own trying to survive in kind of a post-apocalyptic world where there are these cannibals roaming. Devon is pretty much starving. And he starts following Rex and decides to bargain sexual favors for food. Rex agrees because he doesn't get laid a lot with things being as they are. The one night isn't really enough for them.
Funny, they don't have a lot of supplies but they managed to have plenty lube.

I don’t know how i ended up here but i enjoyed it?? It’s an MM novella and it’s not bad at all but It’s shorter than an average novella that’s why my rating doesn’t match my excitement which is frustrating since i am invested. Running to book 2!!

The story has only Rex's pov which works for a short. Plus from blurb, it seems book 2 has Devon's pov! The world is post-apocalyptic & there's "Carrionites" which I had to google about. We don't get much more than "world's gone to shit", I'm curious & hope next book has more info. Also, the book isn't as dark as the triggers may make it (my pov), the 2 MCs are kinda sweet together.
Rex is 31, ex military. He's dominating, tough yet gentle, skills honed. He hunts food & craves human closeness which is fleeting in survival.
Devon is 18, surviving alone since he was a kid. He's sassy, insolent, virgin. And very hungry 😅.
An attack-cute. A deal. Sex for food. One night. Rex shows Dev pleasure for the 1st time. So hot! 🥵 Praise, spanks, rimming & more, oh my.

3.5/5⭐️ If you want a quick, entertaining, and easy read, this book is for you. LOVED the characters and their romance that’s what really saved this book for me. There are only 7 chapters, which is crazy to me, so the pacing is fast, but I wish the author dragged it out a little more. Is this supposed to be a novella or something? I didn’t realize romance books can have very few characters.
It’s a 3.5 star because I can’t give these characters anything less. The enemies to lovers was amazing and so was the spice 😮💨. Also, the dystopian world is a cool thing I don’t see often. It’s just a shame it wasn’t longer. I guess that’s why there’s a second book.

Certes, c’est une nouvelle érotique donc tout est rapide et très peu développé.
La traduction est correcte même si certaines phrases sont mal tournées.
Les personnages sont caricaturaux (le mâle alpha bourru au grand cœur et le jeune blondinet insolent) mais sympathiques.
Le monde post apo est quasi inexistant : 3 lignes d’explications et basta.
Mais bizarrement, j’ai plutôt apprécié ma lecture et ça m’a donné envie de continuer la saga 🤭

This was a very short novella but oooh how I loved every freaking minute of it! Nothing like a good quick MM to get the pallet clean to start a new book.
I read this as an audiobook and phew 😮💨 this is my first audio my Tim Paige and it was absolutely delicious 🤤 honestly listened to it twice it was that good.
Also, to the McDonald girl at the drive thru window, I’m sorry 😂😂 I serious tried to turn it off but I couldn’t stop laughing to make my brain work to save you the embarrassment 😅

This is a short novella / prequel to a new series set in a post apocalyptic world. Rex and Devon are two lonely souls wandering and trying to survive, and the initial purpose of their meeting is related to that, as Devon has been following Rex and asks him to trade sex for food. However Devon is a virgin so we'll he doesn’t really know how good what he's offering is..
The deal seems to reveal deeper needs and hints at a HFN/HEA.
The novella definitely left me curious about the world building that might be completed in the next books.

It is a great opening to a new post-apocalyptic series. Drew you in fully, especially for such a short read , however, because of the length, it felt like something was missing overall. It did make me want to read future books to see how the world expands. It was that intriguing! Just didn't feel complete for me to be a separate story. The spicy scenes are top-notch, and I hope to see more from this couple in future books from this universe.

I haven't posted much in a while, because I've been reading a lot of serials, collections, and episodes (and a lot of taboo stuff that I enjoyed, but didn't want to necessarily share).
But this series? It was odd at first, but also pretty damn good.
This series is called Wasteland Temptations by E.V. Olsen.
Imagine if the universe didn't bounce back from COVID, if people died and kept dying. If the world literally shut down. The electricity stopped working (no one there to pay for it, run it, ect). Not many people alive. At. All. There are people who lived but let their psychopathic ways thrive, and they spend their times looting and killing; there are people who "lived" but have a brain-like virus that turned them to cannibals (kinda zombie like creatures, but they're not 'dead'). The few people alive either live the nomad life, going from one village/town/city to the next, pillaging to survive OR they hunker down in one village/town/city and live off the land.
The first two books cover Rex and Devon ("Mine to Claim" and "Mine to Protect", respective POVs). And the second two books cover Mac and Cal ("His to Break" and "His to Lead", respective POVs). All four books are less than 75 pages and take no time at all to read. They're all very dark romances (spice wise, age-gap wise, and universe wise (it is a post-apocolyic world)), so mind the trigger below.
We're still waiting on at least two more books to finish out the series, as well as answer some questions from the fourth one.
Not going to lie, this book/series kept popping up as a targetted add, and I kept ignoring it until I figured the book-gods must be telling me something. ;)
Going to go see what other gems E.V. has for me to read (while ignoring the goals I had for this week).

The first two books cover Rex and Devon ("Mine to Claim" and "Mine to Protect", respective POVs). And the second two books cover Mac and Cal ("His to Break" and "His to Lead", respective POVs). All four books are less than 75 pages and take no time at all to read. They're all very dark romances (spice wise, age-gap wise, and universe wise (it is a post-apocolyic world)), so mind the trigger below.
We're still waiting on at least two more books to finish out the series, as well as answer some questions from the fourth one.
Not going to lie, this book/series kept popping up as a targetted add, and I kept ignoring it until I figured the book-gods must be telling me something. ;)
Going to go see what other gems E.V. has for me to read (while ignoring the goals I had for this week).

Mine to Claim and Mine to Protect need to be reviewed as one continuous story as they belong to one couple, young Devon and army veteran Rex, as they make their way through a post-apocalyptic wasteland that they share with not zombies but good old-fashioned human predators. This book (Mine to Claim) is from Rex's POV.
I don’t think their meeting can be called a meet cute when Devon is trying to rob some food off of the older, definitely much more experienced Rex. When the ambush doesn’t work, Devon offers up his body to Rex who first has no idea just how inexperienced the pretty 18-year-old is. Their night awakes unexpected feelings in both of them … to the point where they team up for the road. Rex gets very protective of Devon pretty much immediately but when their journey takes a dangerous turn it is Devon who has to fight with all he has to make sure they make it out alive. These two books are super short, barely over 100 pages together, heavy on erotica but still tell a full story. I liked Olsen’s writing style, it’s enjoyable and flows. She paints an interesting picture of this new world without too many details. I’m looking forward to finding out what happened to Mac, Rex’s old friend, in the next two instalments of the series.

When I found out that the ALC of a book that’s been on my wishlist for a few months was coming to me, I was so excited. I’ve read/listened to Savage Titan and I just love how E.V. Olsen brings these MC’s to life.
It just hits different when you’ve read the book and then you listen to an audiobook. The emotion that comes out of the character is just so real and you really resonate with these characters on a whole nother level is just everything.
I absolutely loved how this was set in a post-apocalyptic time as I feel like those are the most fun and interesting stories imo. I loved how this book was in Rex’s POV. It was simply perfect. Such an alpha male. He also just wants that one person to be close with. Then, you get the bratty and snarky virgin Devon, who is just hungry. They come up with a deal and man, what an amazing deal it is.
I wasn’t expecting to love this story as much as I did for it being a short story, but the spice was steamy and then, just the way that they come together - simply perfection!
Tim Paige knocked this audiobook out of the water. Such an amazing listen.

Mine to Claim is the first audiobook in E.V. Olsen’s Wasteland Temptations series and is my first book by this author. I am quite sure it will not be my last, though. This MM dystopian novella was surprisingly in depth for such a short story. It’s insta-love for sure (okay, maybe more insta-lust), but doesn’t feel forced or rushed at all and gives a good overview of this new dystopian universe. And the new and evolving relationship between Rex and Devon is equal parts sweet and spicy. I loved everything about this story and can’t wait to see how this series plays out in future books. The solo narration by Tim Paige is absolutely fantastic! He does an excellent job of voicing both the older, caring yet possessive loner, Rex, and the younger, inexperienced, and beautifully-bratty Devon. He flawlessly captures the personalities of both men, making it instantly clear to the listener which character is speaking. Between the wonderful story and the stellar narration, any fan of MM romance will surely love this little gem of an audiobook.
