Highlighting the year's 25 most important under-reported news stories, this volume alerts readers to deficiencies in corporate media and the resurgence of alternative media.
Definitely a great book if you know what you're looking at... It covers tons of stories that SHOULD have been focused on by the main stream, but at the same time it looses it's objectivity by telling the reader the direction the news industry should go. I agree with them on many, if not all of their points, but the liberal slant is so blatant at parts it's borderline propagandha. It's worth reading the censored stories and skipping the preaching.
PLEASE NOTE: CENSORED 2007 IS VERY IMPORTANT AND I RECOMMEND AT THE VERY LEAST THAT YOU GO TO AMAZON AND READ THE REVIEWS WHICH ALSO INCLUDE THE LIST OF IMPORTANT STORIES WE ARE NOT BEING TOLD. A UNIVERSITY OF SONOMA PUBLICATION, IT IS ENDORSED BY WALTER CRONKITE WHO SAY 'EVERY AMERICAN SHOULD READ THESE BOOKS' WHEN YOU LEARN THAT HALLIBURTON WAS AWARDED 1/2 BILLION DOLLARS TO BUILD DETENTION FACILITIES ON US SOIL, AND THAT CHANEY'S NET WORTH (OFFICIALLY) WENT FROM 4MM TO OVER 100MM SINCE THE WAR IN IRAQ STARTED, AND THAT HALLIBURTON IS THE TOP BENEFICIARY OF INSANELY LARGE, OFTEN NO BID CONTRACTS FOR SERVICES IN IRAQ YOU REALIZE HOW IMPORTANT IT IS THAT WE BECOME INFORMED.....AND TAKE ACTION BEFORE WE ARE UNDER MARSHALL LAW AND FULL ON FASCISM (SEE 'LETTER TO A YOUNG PATRIOT')
Censored 2008 and all the books that came before it are pretty much Must-reads.
The articles you'll read in there will blow your mind and will very much outline the mainstream media agenda by showing you incredibly important stories that you've likely never seen.
This is a f*cking great book...eerie and wonderful. The web site offers synopses of the stories: http://www.projectcensored.org/ As an independent journalist I have tremendous respect for all of the writers whose stories made it into this compendium.
