Tragedy has struck Talinda Travis’ perfect world. A harsh reality has overshadowed the one thing she waited not so patiently on for a lifetime. The man of prophecy, handpicked by God just for her, lay dying in her arms at the hands of a madman. How could this possibly be the right division of God’s word that says, ‘All things work together for the good?’ Talinda would come to understand her husband’s favorite quote, “Ministry is Always Required.” She finds herself in a place she thought she would never be at such a young age… a grieving widow. The woman she’d kept at arm’s length for most of her life would be her most valuable asset as she fights to stay emotionally afloat. Meanwhile, Nevette Naythia Goodfellow appears to be living the dream life with her newlywed husband, Derrick Justice Goodfellow II. She’s in total bliss and awe of God as she indulges in His most powerful gift on earth... love! While Nevette is living inside her fairy tale, her closest friend Lindsay has perfected the art of masking a devastating secret. One that, if exposed, would threaten the spiritual stability of the small town where she spent most of her childhood. Every God-given emotion you have within will surface as you journey into Talinda and Nevette’s world in this riveting series. You will sigh with dreamy eyes…laugh out loud…cry, and want to explode with revenge as you travel to The Other Side of Through with Talinda and Nevette!
This story took me to church and I loved it. All was perfect in Talinda and Brandon's world. From the get-go they knew that they belonged together. It was even prophesied. It could not get any better than that. Tragedy struck, and but for her belief in God, Talinda would have let it all go.
It was hard to stop reading this book. I had to find out how Talinda would cope with all that was transpiring. Supported by her family, friends, and church, Talinda attempted to pull her life together. And what an amazing journey.
I was reminded that through the ups and downs of life, God is still God, and He is always working everything out for my good.
Thanks, Cynthia Middlebrooks Harris, for writing a great story. I’m looking forward to reading Book 2.
This was a free book that was posted in a social network group that I'm a part of. I initially thought the book would not be good. Well I stand corrected. This is one of the best books I've read in a long time. I love the prayers, the relationships that developed, and the presence of the Lord on so many occasions!!! I will be starting Part 2 after writing this review. I need to know what happens with Talinda and Bernard (although I think I know), as well as Quavis, Naythia, and Justice.
Not sure if I have read a book that caused me to go through the emotions as though I was apart of the story. And, yet I cried, prayed and was comforted just like the characters. You must go through in order to get to the other side. Ms. Cynthia, thank you for such a BEAUTIFUL description of God's love in the midst of difficulty. I plan to stay tuned as the story continues.
This book... powerful!!! From the prayers to learning how to forgive, lean on God, seeing what it’s liked to be led by the Holy Spirit... so much spoke to my heart. My soul. I’m pledging to look forward not backwards, to forgive others AND myself, and ALWAYS remember “Ministry IS Required!🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
This novel demonstrates that the Lord can see you through anything if you can stand the pull. Both heroines were at crossroads one was of pain and the other of new beginnings. I was moved deeply by the message of the book.
Awesome read. Everything seemed so perfect for Talinda and Brandon. Talinda and Brandon knew that God joined them together. I enjoyed the prayers, the relationships, and the presence of the Lord. We will all have ups and downs, but we must rely on God to get us through.
This novel is confusing. Telling two different story about other ppl lives with seemingly no connection. However, all the characters have great stories. I really enjoyed Brandon and Talinda’s story. Young couple with their whole lives ahead of them, and suddenly a violent attack rearranges the young couple’s lives. My fondest takeaway is how both Talinda and Brandon listened to the prophecy spoken over them, and was willing to wait for the manifest.
For me Nevette and Derrick’s story is still developing in Book 1, with the biggest portion of the book dedicated to Brandon and Talinda.
I got a bit anxious and had to put the book aside for a day or two so I could stop fretting about Talinda and Nevette. These are sweet young ladies, and you want them to both get a HEA.
This book was truly a blessing! It was entertaining, romantic, funny; yet spiritually uplifting at the same time. The author really takes her time to describe and make you feel as if you know these characters in the book. I really enjoyed and was left waiting anxiously for the sequel. I recommend this book to just about anyone there is something to be taken away that will encourage your heart.
