4.5✨ Forge My Love has an unconventional twist on the Marriage of Convenience trope. Skadi is a nurse with financial woes. Her friend invites her to a tattoo party where she piques the interest of Rueben. He is a big deal in his community, but they have never crossed paths. Quickly, the two are acquainted; the conversations are flowing, and the sexual chemistry is present on page. I appreciate the opening chapters because it really lays the foundation for the story. Rueben left such an impression of Skadi from their first encounter and nightcap, that months later she needs him to do a life changing favor for her. Whew! With any story from this author, I know there will be drama, twists, and a great amount of BDE and this was just what I needed. Rueben is a different kind of man; he is determined and respected and I think that is what made him the perfect partner for Skadi. I liked this story because it was unpredictable and I felt like I understood the characters’ motives and behaviors. Skadi was the female version of Rueben. Her slick tongue, self-awareness, and vulnerability made it easy to see why they worked as a couple. I loved that she got to speak her truth and made amends with her parents, as well. It takes a village and I do not think they would have made it without their family and friends. Of course, there is drama and Tara frustrated me the whole book! In the beginning, I understood why she reacted the way she did but once Rueben told her to fall back- she should have taken her loss! Nonetheless, if you are looking for a book with a one-night stand, a millionaire baddie who knows what she wants, and a man that is not above begging, this is the one! Another outside the box story for the W!

The long way around
My goodness and good gracious, you all this story took the looong way around. I was famished when Rue and Skadi made it to the end. I will not nit-pick, and I guess two people from different socio-economic backgrounds may not know one another. That was a little odd for me. Skadi was a 1%er and Rue was no where near her status, and yet they found love in the strangest way. The lady had the wealth this time. The story was a good reverse fake marriage contract to love story.

Unpopular opinions...
Rue was a fu$k boy! He lied more than he told the truth and there is nothing upstanding about that. Skadi was honest with him about everything and the one thing she asked him to do, he fumbled. Letting Chase know what was up was to be expected but there was no way Tyra should have been given any type of info other than he was married. He talked out both sides of his face and he caused more drama than necessary. I will never understand how a woman who has no real value to a man can have such control over his moves. He was on some sucka shit and Skadi shoukd have given him back to the streets. Tyra needed to buy a damn clue. I don't care how much you have sex with a man, him constantly telling you y'all aren't together or you aren't his woman is all a man should have to tell you in order for you to move around and act accordingly. Yes he fed her delusions to a degree but he never told her they would be together. I read a review that said he owed her an apology and my question is for what? Having a man's baby doesn't give you any claim to him especially if y'all have not been together since the child was born. Having a baby makes y'all parents, nothing more nothing less. She deserved to get her feelings hurt because she did the absolute most. Mo was someone that should have been handled from a distance. They moved in together, she didn't uphold her end of the deal and Skadi had to Catch the slack. When evicted she jumped ship with her man but was upset that Skadi didn't tell her about her dad's money. Girl bye! BJ was a brat. Ellie had the patience of Job and Senior was a clown. The book was well written as it relates to the flow, grammatical errors and character development but I rolled my eyes the entire book and had to force myself to finish. This was a NO for me.

Skadi was trying to make it without anyone help. Her friend played her by moving in with her boyfriend, Skadi was an afterthought. That’s what it felt like to me. Mo still wanted to go to the party even though they got evicted. She met Rue, who was doing her tattoo. Their chemistry is fire. Rue thought Skadi was bougie. I don’t know what Mo was thinking when Skadi when she told her who her father was. Mo thought Skadi was selfish when she didn’t ask her father for help. She’s grown you grown. Skadi thought she pulled on her father, by getting married. Skadi had a business arrangement for Rue. She asked him about his dream. Rue didn’t have any business telling Tyra about the business arrangement. She was just the baby mama. Her father put a stipulation of the marriage. Rue is wrong for not telling her about his daughter. From my point he didn’t lead Tyra on. He had to really work for Skadi forgiveness.Tyra tried to cut up at their grand opening. He did apologize to Tyra. She thought they were going to be together. Yeah they have a child together but that it. Skadi came into his life and made it better. They make each other happy and better.

Justice for Tyra
This was a good read but Rue was dead wrong. He played with both Skadi and Tyra and strung her along knowing he didn’t want her like that. He was tryna have his cake and eat it too. Granted the marriage did start as a business arrangement but he still never told both of them the truth or kept it 100 and only did so because he got caught. He was a deceitful lier, that would have kept going if he could. He played with Tyra’s feelings, granted she was a manipulator but she never got the apology she was owed.

Loved IT
Loved from start to finish., I love how both Rue and Skadi were both hard working young people trying to make it. Everyone's grieving process is different, but Skadi dad was already a hard working man , who put his company first. Rue and Skadi meeting/relationship was so organic, it was refreshing. Love is love and sometimes folks can be blinded by it, but not Skadi and Rue, it's not to say they didn't have bumps in the road! The family dynamics and friendships on both side were well placed!

Rue was wrong on the way he told Tyra their business. I get he wanted to kept the peace for the sake of their daughter but he was also letting her think he was coming back to her. Ska realized sometimes you have to ask for help. I'm glad she gave her stepmother a chance. Got the relationship she wanted with her father. I'm hoping Mo and Geno or even Chance and Jazelle get a book I would love to get an update on Rue and Ska.

Great Job Connie! The story was nice and refreshing. It kept me entertained. Not a lot of drama, or back and forth between the characters. The words flowed nicely throughout the story. It definitely showed a different side of a blended family. Very relatable…. Well done! 5/5

First off I really like Skadi. She is as tough as nails but sweet as pie. The way she met Rue was cool and I appreciated the marriage of convenience trope from a different angle! I can’t lie and say I don’t feel sorry for Tyra though. She was justified in all her feelings and actions. I love that she found peace with her family.

The love that Skadi and Rueben aka Rue was so unique. Yes it started out as a business deal they learned to love one another for real. I hope one day will get to see what as been going on in their future. I will recommend it you looking for a great love story this one book to read!

I loved it
Rue was everything a woman could ever ask for. I’m so glad that she chose him to be her husband fake or not. His baby mother was never of his caliber or he would have already put a ring on it. Her bitter ass got what she deserved lol. It was a pleasure reading about how a arrangement can really turn about to be true love ❤️

A Marriage of Fate
The marriage was definitely one of fate rather than convenience. Rue was definitely a prize worth the risk. I liked the fact that she was the affluent one. The intimate scenes were fire. Definitely gonna be one I return to often

I enjoyed this story from beginning to end. I wasn't sure how it would go from the first chapter but the story evolved into a beautiful love story for Rue and Skadi. I was on the fence about her best friend Mo because she gave some hater vibes at first. This was a story that will have you in your feelings in the best way possible, wishing for a man with characteristics like Rue!!

OMG 😤
These two got on my last nerves with their level of immaturity with the situation. Ska and her attitude also pissed off, and they way she treated her step mom all this time, I wasn't a fan of her throughout the entire book. You went into this business deal with little to no plan all because you wanted to get back at your dad and when things started to go wrong on so many levels you keep running and having mad attitude when your the one who did do your due diligence and plan this thing out the way it should. You need to get a grip on the badass attitude of yours
Ruben, you should have handled the situation with your baby mama from the get-go, not saying it was easy dealing with her and knowing she is using that little girl as a pawn. Also, you shouldn't have opened your big mouth and told her about the deal between you, a Ska, knowing it would come back to bite you.
Tyra, you constantly embarrassed yourself and used that baby a pawn. Even when he told you he doesn't want you, you showed up at the club looking for clout and got your ass whooped. You tried to take the baby away and fled that state, and he had to get the courts involved and you still couldn't just walk away you had to show up again at his place a business and get embarrassed again, like why do you constantly do this to yourself instead of just walking away and heal yourself.
I wish the story had flowed a little better between each of the scenes , I got the plot of the story, but it wasn't flowing very well for me, but over all, I enjoyed the book

She had style, grace, didn't mind getting out of pocket when necessary, but she was also an undercover millionaire. Thing is, money didn't move her. She avoided her dad like the plague and said he was dead because she refused to live the life he wanted her to. When backed against the wall, she has no choice but to go to him. Even with his requirements Skadi proved she could play the game too. She creates her own marriage of convenience by asking Rue to marry her in exchange for making his dreams come true. Of course what started out as fake becomes very real, but some omissions put this couple in a sink or swim situation. Thankfully they decide that swimming is the better option. Y'all, that baby mama was the picture of the phrase because she was doing way too much. I was glad that Skadi not only gave her step mom a chance, but she really got her dad back as well. Mr. Brandon showed Rue respect too, and that was beyond what I expected. Happy Reading Y'all!💋

I feel like the synopsis was misleading because it says "the toxicity that women bring creates an emotional separation " itIT WAS LITERALLY HIS FAULT. I honestly don't know what to say about Rue, except he knew exactly what he was doing. He continuously lied to his bm and strung her along even from the first encounter of lying that he was nt with nobody. He told his bm it was just bizness while making Skadi think they were working towards more. I did not like him AT ALL, then when the bm exposed him he had the nerve to keep asking Ska if she had something against his daughter ....WHAT boy you literally told your bm you was gonna play me for my money.
