Currently SCREAMING. CRYING. And trying to put into words how this book made me feel🫠
This was my live reactions during the entirety of this book: 😭😢🤯🤬🥵🥰😍😈🥲😮💨😮😡
Coming off of the events of book 1, the book was action packed and was definitely the sequel I needed! You feel the tension for what was at stake and how bad the characters were to escape their circumstances and find their loved ones desperately.
Dinah, my girl can fight ohhh WOW. I loved her energy so much during this, and the determination she has to defend others who can’t defend themselves. She kept fighting for the cause even though her journey wasn’t the smoothest, and her drive kept the momentum going throughout the book.
Zeke & Abe are a combination that I LOVED! They are so fierce and determined, yet so understanding of the world they live and what’s important or above them to do. Forgiveness is a strong thing to give someone, and they both fought to deserve that.
ALSO Sammy I miss youuuu😭😭
These three just go so well with each AHHHH, the emotion was so raw all the time and that combined with the spice??🫠🫠🫠
Currently trying to distract myself til book 3 LMAO.🥲
What is that saying from the old world? It was in a book Dinah's mother, Maria, had hidden by some man named William Congreve. "Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned, nor Hell a fury like a woman scorned."
Holy Moly! (Apt I know 🤭) Once more I could not put this down, the tug and pull within this storyline is just 🤌. Seriously, your mind is in turmoil attempting to work out the betrayals, the lies, the twists, the emotions, the intrigue hold you to ransom.
Our bada$$ FMC, keeps getting knocked down but she gets right back in that saddle and pulls the reins! The guys are now spilt and divided, her hopes shattered, the monster within trying to gain its freedom: will it succeed? Will the brotherhood be defeated? Will they ever find peace?
I can’t even give you anymore than that, the cliffhanger was 🤯 not gonna lie loved it 😊
Absolutely amazing this book has everything and the smut is on point. I loved it If you like: • enemies to lovers • Stalker • Serial ☠️ • Secret society • Revenge • MMFM • Unhinged MMCs love a book with over 50+ triggers this book is for you. Bad a$$ FMC and 3 absolutely amazing Unhinged MMCs.
This book has a lot of *smut*.!! I’d be lying if I said I didn’t skip through those parts.. cause I want to know what happened to Sammy, the protector.!! Is he alright.??🥹 I cannot read those smut while that man is getting tortured and is convinced that nobody is coming to his rescue.!!🥲 I literally gasped when I see the book has ended and we still didn’t get to see Sammy rescued.!!😢😭
We're back with The Brotherhood and Be My Sacrifice picks up where Be My Sinner leaves off. HOLY 🔥🔥🔥🔥 what a way to start. Sacrifice is as deliciously dark and depraved as Sinners if not moreso. But it's also emotional and heartbreaking at times. Again, be sure to check the TW before you start. This is dark romance at it's very best so don't go in expecting rainbows and roses, at least not in the traditional sense😘. This one has left me anticipating Be My Salvation even more than I anticipated this one. The wild ride continues!
I’m having such a blast with this series it’s so unhinged dark and fucked. My only complaint is I hate the inner monologues having the characters ask a 10 questions to themselves every other page.
Great second book! Left me needing to know what will happen in the third book. So much goes on in this one and Dinah is a powerhouse! Love her so much! *chef kiss*
The darkness only got more intense in the second story I read this right after the first book, but I will say this book is a little slower than the first, but it’s building up for the chaos unleashed in book 3 Dark and depraved as book one, characters grow, and you see more to them. I wanted to throw a whole lot of them in here, but it’s such an incredible read, be prepared to be blown with twist and want to be part of some very deprived things.
Maruga did an amazing job at creating seriously dark, viølent characters that you wouldn't want to run into on a bad day, and then making you love them and care about what happens to them. My little babies Zeke and Sammy. 🥺
I really enjoyed the character interactions in this installment and I can't wait to see more in the next one. Maruga's writing is enjoyable, descriptive, and just emotional enough for me without actually r1pp ing my heart out.
While there is a lot of action in this book, I thought that the pacing was a good balance of action and quieter, strategy scenes (I don't know how to describe that). And don't worry, there is still plenty of spice!
(I received this book for free from the author and am voluntarily leaving this review.)
Please check the loooong list of TWs, and if that's all good, then I highly recommend this series. And yes, it MUST be read in order!
The first book was a lot better. This one was really repetitive. And I can’t help thinking that two out of our four main characters should probably be dead with the amount of beatings and suffering they endured. That’s basically what this book felt like to me: a lot of suffering.
The spice was good however a lot of it happened at times and in places where they should have been focusing on survival.
The twist at the end was interesting but not totally believable. These characters seem to want to do the fastest thing they can to get what they want and in doing so, they fall into trap after trap.
This one gets 4 stars instead of 3 because Dinah is still a wonderful character.
There's only one thing that didn't jive with me in this installment, which is primarily Sammy. There was no hint of him being bisexual before, and I kind of liked how obsessed he and Dinah were with each other. They were so romantic.
Suddenly, though, he thinks Dinah is dead but he keeps getting turned on by her killer??? It felt very untrue to his character and made me kind of hate him and totally tainted their relationship for me. Like, maybe after months and months together in captivity, sure. But she's been dead all of like 5 minutes and he's popping hate boners. No fucking way. Where is the loyalty?!
This dude should be a miserable empty shell that can barely think about eating or drinking because he is crushed under his grief and his desire to join Dinah like he proclaimed he would 50 billion times before. He's even beat to shit and still thinking about sexual stuff with—again—the person that he believes killed the other half of his soul.
So, that thread of the story really bothered me. It's okay to have unbalanced poly relationships—in fact, I'd say that's the norm, especially when you have two previous couples joining together. But this weird decision to have Sammy have body betrayal syndrome over Ezekial makes it seem like everyone is in love with this pathetic, over-confident asshole that really should be dumped by all of them.
I may change my mind by the end, but I'm 65% of the way through and I'm doubtful that's going to happen. This mother fucker would have to willingly give up his life for Dinah for me to forgive him. Like, I don't care that he's sad and heartbroken and trying his best to play a game he clearly sucks at. Boo fucking hoo.
... That being said, Dinah is still one badass lady, and Abe grows on me more and more. I mean, he was basically no different than the people Dinah is seeking vengeance against at first, but it seems like he has found purpose in Dinah and has changed. I'm so, so hopeful that he becomes disillusioned by Zeke, who only ever enabled Abe's most perverse impulses at the expense of literally everyone around them. Zeke seems like the kind of boyfriend that would sabotage any attempt to quit your vices because he wants to be controlling and set himself up as the only person you can turn to for your addiction. All the guys still have these notions that Dinah needs saving from herself when, really, she has only ever really needed saving from ... them, really, and others like them. I'm hoping that train of thought kind of dies out of them by the end of things.
Buuuut this IS a dark RH, so I'm not holding my breath on that one lol.
Edit: Made it to the end, still not a fan of the way the Ezekial bit has played out. The Sammy bit took a really weird turn. I'd like to know what happens next, but it seems like there's a brainwashing-type storyline coming in the future, and that's like my least favorite plot line ever.

Be My Sacrifice was just as amazing as Be My Sinner. From the start, we have no idea where this story is going to take us. We know that Dinah has been betrayed by Zeke, who had to make a very tough decision. Abe feels that betrayal just as acutely, though the cost for him isn’t quite so high. And there are questions about whether Zeke’s betrayal went so far as the death of Dinah’s brother, Gabriel. We are again drawn into this intricately woven tale of love and revenge.
Abe is the psychotic lover, Zeke is the prince and Sammy is the knight in Dinah’s story. Each plays different but equally important roles in the dynamics of the relationships in the group. The expression of love in Be My Sacrifice runs even deeper than in Be My Sinner. We really feel how profoundly these soulmates are connected.
Though this is a dark romance, when things get really dark the relationships between the characters often add some levity. Things feel a little less serious with some witty banter. Sammy’s drunken self talk in particular lightens the mood. I don’t remember anything like this in the first book.
The descriptive language and imagery are beautiful and often set the tone just as much as they draw a pretty picture, or grotesque as the case may be. This book also discusses the role of women as second-class citizens in the world, and there is also some pretty good philosophizing about freedom and sacrifice.
There is of course suspense and action, as was the case in the first book. The ending is a complete surprise. What a twist! It will be impossible to wait for the next book in the series.
OMG, this series is sooooo good, again I couldn't put the book down once I started reading it. ! I love the darkness of it. The characters are dark, mean, and nasty but have that possessive, obsessive streak to them, that you just love when it comes to their woman. Their woman may be submissive to them but to anyone else, she is the 'Unholy Ghost' and if you have sinned, prepare to meet the Devil himself.
Book 2 follows the 4 main characters, Dinah, Abe, Zeke and Sammy. they have been split up due to the rebels descending. Dinah and Abe have been grabbed by them. But Abe and Sammy are distraught after watching Zeke follow his father Noah's instruction, not knowing why he had chosen to take that option. Zeke and Sammy have been left behind with his sadistic, power-hungry, psychotic Noah.
Zeke and Sammy need to escape from Noah, they need to find Abe.
Abe has a surprise in store when he comes around in the rebel stronghold. Someone he never thought he would see there. But all he is concerned about is Dinah. But his feelings towards Zeke, the love of his life are now mixed because of his action towards Dinah. When he sees him again, can he kill him for what he has done to Dinah, the woman that they are supposed to love?
Eventually, Dinah comes out of the coma. She needs to get her men back from Noah. But everyone seems to have other plans for her. Is she being used again on the chessboard, moving to other people's agenda? Especially when someone reveals himself to her.
Will she ever have her Protector, her Liar, and her Forsaker by her side?

I needed to think about how to review this book because although I am enjoying the story, some of the character's pasts make it hard to like their present. I understand why most of them need to have these backstories because of the world that they live in and it shows the male-dominated religion/world they all live under. It does make for a couple of very strong female characters (our main woman included) but it is really hard to get past some of the stuff the main love interests have committed in their pasts. Yes, they love Dinah but Zeke and Abe are hard to like, though I do love Sammy. This book starts right after the ending of the first book (you definitely need to read book 1 or you won't know what is going on). We get different viewpoints from each character of the ending of the first story as the beginning of this story and it truly helps to see the whole picture. The story itself is really good and I can't wait for the last book to see how they are going to get out of the predicament each main character is in at the cliffhanger from this book, this book is really hard on most of the characters. Some of the bad guys get a very good ending in this book (just what they needed) and I am hoping that more of them get their just desserts in the next book. I am curious if some of these main men can be redeemed, I don't think that they will ever be able to get past their misdeeds but maybe I can finally overlook that and be happy for their future.
The Queen has done it again! I could not read Be My Sacrifice fast enough. She had me craving more from just the dedication alone! This book is NOT for the faint of heart, if you like your main characters pitch black and I mean PITCH black enjoy the ride! Your mental health matters, it would be advisable to read the very long shopping list that comes along with this book.
Be My Sacrifice picks up where we left off in Be My Sinner. Betrayal. Revenge. Forgiveness. Salvation. This book is full of all the deliciously dark twist and turns, that will have you returning for more.
If I were a character in a book, I would want to be a Dinah! I definitely, would not want to be on the receiving end of her wrath.
Sammy, Abe and Zeke, will have you saying what the h3ll! Sammy, has had my little black heart since book one, he is definitely one of my top book boyfriends! Oh Sam…mmm…yyyy! (Iykyk) ahh!!!
If you like luscious, filthy, salacious spice Be My Sacrifice will have your panties melting and your knees wobbling. 😈
This storyline is perfection, the flow, the details, the plot is all cohesive and well written. Mrs. Maruga knows how to write a book and keep her readers coming back for more.
The cliffhanger at the end of this book has me impatiently awaiting Be My Salvation. I didn’t see that coming, I thought it was going to be someone else under the mask.
Whew. If I thought Be My Sinner was intense, Be My Sacrifice came in, stole my breath, wrecked my emotions, and left me yelling at my Kindle all over again. The emotional whiplash? Absolutely real. But honestly? So worth it.
The chemistry between our main characters—whew, it just keeps growing and simmering with every page. It’s steamy, it’s delicious, it’s dangerous, and I am so here for it. Coming off the chaos of book one, this sequel picked up right where it left off—with heart-pounding action, high stakes, and a desperate urgency that had me reading way past my bedtime.
And the plot twist?? MIND. BLOWN. I did not see that coming and I loved every second of it. The tension, the yearning, the fierce will to survive and protect their people—it all makes this book such a strong follow-up. Dark romance fans, this is not your sweet slow-burn—this is gritty, raw, and intense with just the right amount of emotional torment.
And yes… another cliffhanger. A major one. I screamed again. I am not okay.
But honestly, A.L. Maruga knows exactly how to hook you in and keep you tangled in her dark, twisted web. The character interactions in this one really stood out—they’re layered, messy, complicated, and addictive. I felt everything, but thankfully, Maruga stops just short of ripping my heart out completely (…for now).
If you loved Be My Sinner, you need this sequel in your life. And if you haven’t started the series yet? Buckle up, babe. It's a wild, wicked ride.

Be My Sacrifice by A.L. Maruga, the second installment of the Brotherhood of the Sacrament series is filled with action, vengeance, hope, and plenty of spice.
Book 2 starts off with a Bang 30 minutes before the first book ended. It gives you a more in depth look of what the characters are thinking, along with some spicy shower time! You also find out how all the main characters become fractured, and are fighting for their lives while many secrets are revealed.
I am in love with all of these morally gray characters. Trust and vengeance are a big part of this book. Although at times heartbreaking, the struggle each character goes through to find their way back to each other is emotional and powerful. All of them would do anything to save the ones they love!
However, not everything is how it seems which leads to a huge secret, and a heart pounding cliffhanger! Book two was the cream in the middle that we needed to piece everything together for the upcoming third book. Which no doubt will be an epic, trigger filled, depraved adventure that I CANNOT wait to dive into!!
If you love dark romance filled with all the triggery goodness, I 100% Recommend!
*Why Choose *Contemporary *Multi-PoV *Religious Base *Dark/Triggers *Revenge Plot *Gothic Themes *Enemies to Lovers *Stalker Romance *Building harem (3) *inc MM *2/3 Heart wrenching and panty melting Phew there’s a lot to this second book! I really liked the fact that we get what happened at the end of the first book from the guys perspective at the beginning of this one…it definitely added a different dimension! The start of this one definitely brings tears and a lot of angst 😫 these men certainly have a lot of baggage and trauma to contend with fighting their own demons together yet there unit is rocked with the missing protector 😢 what I did enjoy was that we also got a bit more in sight into the boys motives behind certain actions in this one! thankfully Dinah really seems to come into even more strength in this book and is soooo willing to take anyone on in her path to right the wrongs of their world! She’s so strong 😍 it’s cleverly written this book with providing you with some answers but still keeping you on the edge…especially with another corker of a cliffie! Roll on the final book 😃
OMG!!! This book....It is outstanding!! Continuing on from the cliff hanger of book 1, I am emotionally drained from the efforts put in for Dinah to survive her stab wounds from Noah and Zeke, to then having to fight to find Sammy. Waking from her coma, Abe is by her side, but no Sammy! Not very forgiving in nature, when Dinah comes face to face with Zeke again, at his second wedding, no less, she wants to shoot him on the spot, but something stops her hand! When she finds that Sammy has once again eluded her by being kidnapped by Noah, she decides Zeke may be more useful to her alive. Both Abe and Dinah find it hard to forgive Zeke his betrayal, even though he did it for all the right reasons. The emotional rollercoaster that this story takes you on is huge! I just needed to get to the end and find that Dinah had finally reached Sammy and saved him! But oh no...A.L. Maruga has other plans for her three men, and threw a spanner in the works with a twist you will not see coming! And then......the cliff hanger! I need Book 3 Be My Salvation...like right NOW!!! A very well earned 5 stars from me!
This is book 2 in the Brotherhood of the Sacrament series. This is not a standalone book. This series is very dark, gothic, has a tremendous amount of trigger warnings, and has a power struggle between men and women that mainly focuses on religion. The religion in this book is used in a negative and controlling way. I really had a lot of questions going into this book. The biggest one was who was the Holy Father and how was he controlling people. The who is answered and I must admit it was pretty unexpected. In the first book the readers see how dark the Brotherhood is. Dinah herself goes very dark in this book and almost totally loses herself in her quest of the Unholy Ghost. Nothing is going as planned. Again, who should be believed, who is lying to benefit themselves, and what really is at play here? I don't know which cliffhanger was worse book 1 or this book? I'm looking forward to the conclusion and just maybe for Dinah to take over the world and subjugate these men for a change 🤷♀️.

I honestly though this book was going to break me.
I was so terrified of what would be inside it, but I am so thankful it wasn't the things my head conjured up.
There were some upsetting parts and I feel very unsettled because everything is up in the air, nothing it finished and it makes me feel restless and on edge.
But the book is soooo good!
We are learning so much! So many reveals and the final reveal, I would not have guessed. That was a complete surprise.
But just like with the last book, I am not terrified of what will occur in the next book. But I cannot stop here, I need to know how all this ends.
And I need a happily ever after, if there is one. At the very least, I need closure to be able to move on from these characters and this world.
Honestly this book was a ride, both the first and the second books were and I'm not really sure what to feel.
I love the feminine rage, of course. I am truly in my feminine rage era and I ate this up. She does what? Yup, she's a badass and no one tells her no.
I read this book in just 2 days. It kept me hooked all the way through. Dark, twisted, and full of ups and downs. I enjoyed the storyline as much if not more than the first book.
I saw character growth in Dinah, she's still ruthless, and psychotic, but she also thought about things more instead of just lashing out and reacting. I absolutely loved her and Abe together, matching darkness with darkness. I do think they should've made Zeke grovel a bit more, but I think he got the hint and understands how things are. Then there's Sammy, who still hangs on, even when he's been beaten down. There appears to still be some unknown variables as they try to take down the Brotherhood. And that cliffhanger, yeah. I wonder where they all go from here.

Leaving the first book on a cliffhanger guaranteed me wanting to read the second book of the trilogy...well it worked! I couldn't help but feel like this book was a bit slower pace than the previous...which was a good thing because alot of character development happened...though it was veering towards alot of miscommunication between the 4 main characters Needless to say the gaps in communication were actively filled with ample amounts of well written smut...not always at the most appropriate times 🤣 The rest of the time was filled with lots of feminine rage and well placed torture. Please check your triggers this book has a compendium of them. Pace picked up near the end of the book...and now I'm committed to reading the last book of the trilogy. Can't wait. I really liked this and I was so glad it started off where be my sinner ended!!
I will keep it spoiler free of course so just go with my feelings lol
So here it is…I felt lots of anger during this one I won’t lie!! (( not in a bad way guys just how dark romance goes sometimes)) I was mad and sad and this one was more emotional then the first, there is of course spicy goodness and some messed up parts for those dark depraved souls, but this one you also got more background and plot!! This one is pure darkness!!
Yes the spice was spicing too lol 🥵🥵
I was so here for this but don’t expect light and fluffy in this one friends!! Check your triggers!!
This book gave me so many answers to questions I had in book 1, but at the same time I’m like WTF did I just read. I know I should probably need therapy with how much I loved this book but it was outstanding!
We start where we left off in book 1 and are immediately on a wild ride and I’m not playing you better prepare yourself for this journey. Be my Sacrifice is twisted ( in such a good way), dark, depraved, heartbreaking and beautiful. These characters go through so much but at the same time they are some of the strongest characters I’ve ever read about.
Grab tissues because you will feel everything for Dinah, Abraham, Ezekiel and Sammy. A.L. you keep hooking me with all of your books and I can’t wait for Be My Salvation.
What did I just read?? I am speechless and screaming with this book!! This read beings right where you left off in book 1 and yes, those feelings you had for the villain are back in full force. So many questions were answered with this book and yet you are still left wanting more. Our favorite characters are split in half and while two endure so much pain and punishment, the others are trying everything in their power to get them back. Not knowing who to trust, Dinah has to go with her true feelings and forgive. Until she comes face to face with the one person she least expected bringing her world crashing down. This read is dark and heartbreaking. They go through so much, and yet remain strong for each other. Zeke still holds a place with me but Abe shown me another side to him that made Dinah melt into his arms. And lets not forget about our man Sammy. The strongest of them all having been put through h3ll and back and at the end of the day, all he wants is to be with his soulmate. *crying emoji* After that cliffhanger, I can not wait for the next book in this series.
This series…just d a m n!!!! A.L. Maruga took everything I loved from the first book and kicked it up a notch with some heartbreaking emotions in there! More of the depravity, more of the smut and oh yeah, toss some tears in too while you’re at it!! Dinah is boss that is for sure, but I don’t know if she going to make it off of the crazy train! Heck of a twist you threw in there at the end! I knew there had to be something coming, but did NOT see THAT outcome! And again with the brutal cliff? And now I have to wait until January 2025?!?! Seriously…I might not make it! You got me, you drew me in, you hooked me! Is book 3 the end or is there more? The waiting is torture……. Was that dramatic enough? 😂🤣😂🤣 Seriously though…absolutely incredible!
