Some problems have temporary solutions…others require a permanent response. Meet Iker the Unseen, expert conflict resolution professional.
IKER THE CLEANER When Iker gets a call from the Dark Council to resolve a conflict involving an ancient clan of vampires, he finds that he is the target of an elimination protocol. Someone wants Iker the Unseen to remain unseen…permanently. Now, with Dark Council Enforcers hunting him, and clan heads ordering his death, Iker must uncover who sanctioned a kill order against him—and remove them before its too late.
DAYSTRIDER In order to cheat death…sometimes…you have to die. Iker the Unseen has eliminated Renault, one of the Triumvirate, and in the process has made his difficult life…nightmarish. When the remaining members of the Triumvirate want Iker eliminated, they mobilize the DCE-Dark Council Enforcers to get their revenge. But not everything is as it seems. Someone is controlling the remaining members of the Triumvirate, someone ancient and powerful. Someone who stands to gain by having Iker removed from the board. A Daystrider. Now, Iker must uncover the identity of this Daystrider before the DCE eliminates him and those close to him. In order to uncover the influence in the shadows, Iker must walk in the light.
NIGHTWALKER Even the brightest day must surrender to the darkest night. Solis has been eliminated, but the real threat, Roze the Daystrider is still alive. And she wants revenge. In order for Iker to disappear into the shadows, he must first step into the light and face an enemy stronger than any in his past. Now, together with Byako and her group of Nightwalkers, Iker must stop Roze before she destroys the Dark Council and plunges all of the vampires into a civil war. If he succeeds, he can fade back into the shadows. Failure will mean the death and destruction of his world as he knows it.
Orlando Sanchez has been writing ever since his teens when he was immersed in creating scenarios for playing Dungeon and Dragons with his friends every weekend. An avid reader, his influences are too numerous to list here. Some of the most prominent are: J.R.R. Tolkien, Jim Butcher, Kat Richardson, Terry Brooks, Piers Anthony, Lee Child, George Lucas, Andrew Vachss, and Barry Eisler to name a few in no particular order. The worlds of his books are urban settings with a twist of the paranormal lurking just behind the scenes and generous doses of magic, martial arts, and mayhem. Aside from writing, he holds a 2nd and 3rd Dan in two distinct styles of Karate. If not training, he is studying some aspect of the martial arts or martial arts philosophy. He currently resides in Queens, NY with his family and can often be found in the local Starbucks where most of his writing is done. Iker has many quirks & this just revealed one of them. Now he appears to be aligned with a Daystrider, curiouser and curiouser. The many twists & turns in the M&S world are slowly coming together and this quick story is a very important piece of the puzzle. It's also a fun read.
A super fast paced short story about our mysterious Nightwalker. It was great coming back to check on Iker and the author did not let us down. We get to see other familiar faces as well and as the story progresses you discover there needs to be more to finish this ARC. So take a break and catch up, you'll be glad you did.
Ah yes, a feral read indeed. The author once again has let his creations loose upon his avid readers & we've attacked them like the rabid hellhounds we are. Iker has gotten under our skins and in his own way has attempted to redeem himself. LoL, we'll see how long that lasts.
Interesting and enjoyable but a little repetitive in the writing style (maybe that it was a collection of basically 3 short stories contributed - but the author also used repetitive retorts to fight challenges and the phrase "you (or I'm) already dead") Take some Blade, Underworld, and write it in a Manga style (to include a tricked out futuristic motorcycle) and you'll get Iker.
Seemed to be good start but long way from complete story. Liked what I read. Iker is an interesting character. Would like to see him more filled out. It seems like he would be blown away by a strong wind. He needs more substance. Although maybe that was the whole purpose get him out there and create a following. I am hooked and will read more.
I love all that is M&S but I also enjoy adventures of others in the surrounding world and how they can and will someday intersect. Please can we have more Iker stories. Highly recommend.
As usual Orlando dose a fine job of keeping the action fast and the plot twist coming. I hope he continues for many years. I've never read one of his books or stories that I could put down. You won't be disappointed.
