Follow two points of view in this novel, from each of the main characters, in the second installment of “The Ribbon Series.”
Lexi Scott is Royalty amongst the Hood, a supernatural race that no one has heard of. They are very fast and trained to be deadly. An elite member of her community, she has a moniker she performs her missions in. She’s the Black Arrow. When she came back to town she connected with her friend Haley Conners.
Haley encourages Lexi to start her own business and have something for herself, and not just her brother, the leader of the Hood. She’s lost at the game of love once already and knows she won’t survive another heartbreak. When it turned out her ex boyfriend was not only not her string, but a liar, she felt the sting of his betrayal. Rather than confront him she’s kept her distance in the 3 years since. Now, she’s back in town and staying for Haley, her brother, and her friends.
Alpha Chase Daniels is a werewolf. He’s made a name for himself in the supernatural community as a fair man. Feeling judged at every turn for a decision he made when he was eighteen, he is caught in a difficult position. Having married his childhood friend so that she was able to lead her pack, he is now stuck in the marriage that was never more than a piece of paper. Alpha Sophia is dragging her feet, and he finds himself caught up in a situation he never considered.
Alpha Chase scents his mate and embarks on a tumultuous journey to resolve his situation with Sophia and give the world to Lexi. Terrified she’ll abandon him, he tries to stay away from her in hopes of figuring things out, it’s clear life doesn’t always go to plan.
This was the worst book in the series imo. The plot was riveting & I liked the characters, HOWEVER, I found them to be lacking & unimpressive.
I was looking forward to learning about BA & the Hood, but they just let me down. I felt like she was selfish, foolish & childish to approach the situation with Chase the way she did. Heath wasn't very impressive either. Chase & his leadership team are also meh.😕 There are no new standouts in this ENTIRE book. There's at least Ted for comedic relief, but he's otherwise weak. Did they ever even start his & Sally's training? I hate how everyone is a dumbass in this pack and operates in isolation instead of planning as a team like Eric & Lucas would. Yes Eric & Lucas made mistakes, but they LEARNED from them & didn't repeat them. I suspect that Sophia & Heath are mates, which I hate because I want that selfish bitch to DIE. It also felt like this book was repetitive, and Lexi & Chase's relationship is shallow because all we really read about is them having sex.🙄😒🙎🏾♀️
All in all this is a must read for information on the overall series, but expect to be frustrated & annoyed for pretty much the ENTIRE book.
P.S- I hate Sophia so much, I hope she at least gets her ass kicked. Chase better not fucking forgive her either!🙎🏾♀️😡👿
P.P.S-I apologize for the profanity; I'm passionate & get way too invested in characters. I'm amped up right now with the way Part 1 ended.😅🥴 I hope the author can redeem the story with Part 2.
Amanda doesn’t disappoint. This book was the third one in the series about the Daniels and the Hood. I love it so much. Lexi and Chase story was sweet and adventurous that Lexi was such a strong girl. Amanda continues to amaze me with how wide her imagination is, and how much she ties things up where you couldn’t even notice or realize it. I bought both Kindle and book for my collection. SO WORTH THE MONEY! All her books are so thick and full of wonderful contents! ❤️
The 3rd book of this series is amazing. Setting an these timelines for all the books molding and meshing together are so good. The hints and nuggets of future happenings are just so good!
So I have read this story before. But with the added additions it just breathtaking all over again for me. I look forward to the next part of Chase and Lexi's story.
This saddens me to write this. The rating would be 3.5 if I could get it to do this.
I love this Ribbon Series, the characters and the supernatural world and various realms. The richness of the characters and the interwoven stories are amazing. Unfortunately in this the repetition within the POV is tedious and I end up skipping over them continually. Some are over the most mediocre matters (in-important and un-necessary). Also the grammar, and spelling - examples of (Sense instead of Since) words being repeated in sentences becomes annoying. Alot of these obvious errors where in the App Dreame, where I originally read the story and was excited about this story. I will not give any spoilers away, but if you can tolerate these little bugs then, I highly recommend the books. If you love the series, then this story is worthy buying but I recommend only the eBook version.
