Rescue Alaska is a warm yet fast moving mystery series with a light paranormal twist. Harmony Carson, a search and rescue volunteer, has a unique gift which she often considers a curse. She is able to 'see' the individuals she is meant to rescue, and more often than not, she can feel their fear and their pain as well. As her gifts develop, she begins to connect not only with those she is destined to rescue, but those she is destined to stop as well.
Kathi lives with her husband, kids, grandkids, and dogs in beautiful Lake Tahoe. When she isn't writing, Kathi likes to read (preferably at the beach or by the fire), cook (preferably something with chocolate or cheese,) and garden (planting and planning not weeding). She also enjoys spending time on the water when she's not hiking, biking, or snowshoeing, the miles of desolate trails surrounding her home. Kathi uses the mountain setting in which she lives, along with the animals (wild and domestic) that share her home, as inspiration for her cozy mysteries.

Kathi Daley is a cozy mystery writer that has a series for everyone! The Rescue Alaska Mystery series is a paranormal cozy set in Alaska.
Each book in this series has been so enthralling that I can't stop reading it until the book is finished. Finding Destiny kept with that trend for me. The main character, Harmony, has visions that she is not able to control. What she does know is that the visions are showing up because there is something that she needs to do to help the person in the vision. Harmony is sometimes able to "call" out to the person in the vision to make a connection, but that is not always the case. In Finding Destiny, Harmony is plagued with the same recurring dream. It always leaves Harmony unsettled as she is not sure who the dream is about, where the dream takes places, or what she is supposed to do. However, Harmony can't dwell on this vision as a doctor friend and their team are missing. Will Harmony be able to connect again? Will the dream ever subside?
Harmony Carson is a search and rescue volunteer in Rescue, Alaska. She has a unique gift that allows her to connect to those whom she's meant to help. In this book, Harmony has been having dreams/visions about a woman who's connecting with Harmony and leads her on a mission.
I love this series which is one of my favorites by Kathi Daley. The book was a well-written, quick, fun read that kept me hooked from beginning to end. The characters are well-developed and continue from book to book allowing you to build a connection and relationship with them. I enjoyed this captivating story and am looking forward to the next book. I highly recommend both book and series which I believe is best read in order.
I love Kathi Daley cosy mystery books and have read several series of them. This series is a favourite of mine. I did find the book hard to get into, and it ended quite abruptly, but I still enjoyed reading it.
Set in Alaska, Harmony is part of a search and rescue team, and she has a unique gift of being able to connect with people telepathically needing the teams expertise.
When the teams doctor and helicopter pilot go missing, Harmony tries to connect with them to find out where they are.
Each book is a standalone story and can be read in isolation from the others, but they are best read in order of publication to preserve continuity of the characters and wider storyline.
I really enjoy this series and reading about Alaska. I normally don't like paranormal books, but I do enjoy this one. I do have mixed feelings about the book. In chapter 12, Dani and Jordan are being held by a guy that wants them to save his dying mother. Jack is trying to get to them. Then chapter 13 jumps to everyone home 4 days later. I feel there could have been a brief chapter explaining the rescue. Harmony has been having dreams about the dying woman, but she has not been able to connect to anyone else. She is concerned that her gift that has been used many times to save people has disappeared. The ending is more of a cliffhanger than a conclusion.
I don't know...but I didn't feel like this was a complete book. It seemed to be more of an extra- large chapter that didn't have an ending. There really wasn't a satisfying conclusion as to whether the body in the grave was Colin, or an answer about why Destiny killed him...are we even sure that she did? And we're left hanging about Harmony's power to connect - will it come back or is it gone for good? I have enjoyed this series since it started, and I do plan to keep reading it, but this one fell a bit flat for me.
A lot going on in this book. Dream visits haunt Harmony and she tries to figure out what is going on with the person in her dreams. After figuring out where the visions take place she goes to try to figure it out. Unfortunately, her ability to reach out to missing people is interrupted but she doesn't know why. She hopes that figuring out what happened with the woman in her dreams will fix her visions. We are still waiting to find out but in the meantime a Hollywood style production/party fundraiser for the shelter is happening.
I’ve always enjoyed this series but this book was just ok. Things were repeated over and over, it felt like filler. In the course of two pages the story about Dani and Jordan going missing is repeated 3 times. The storm up north was mentioned so many times I lost count. Other than the two boys that went missing all the rescues are not discussed. You read about someone missing then the next thing you read they’re found. The ending wasn’t really a conclusion of any kind. It’s not really a cliffhanger either just more like a trailer for the next book.
Harmony has been able to connect to people in need of help for several years, but the last few months not so much. She is having dreams that are confusing her and she needs to find out why she is having them. While she finally finds some answers, not all are resolved for her, and she still cannot make connections with those who she tries. Is this a permanent issue will she eventually be able to connect again?
Ok, I was not expecting the ending of this book. This one has left me saying ’What!’ because there was so much going on in this story. Sometimes tragic, unexpected, but also sometimes romantic. Now I am anxious for Book #9 to pick up problems with Harmony’s gifts, her new relationship with Houston, the new movie Harley will be filming and its subject, and all the other little threads that have not come together in this book. Excellent series and quick reads.
Once again Harmony's powers lead to an usual investigation but her gift seems to be evolving again. Love the characters, the setting and the animals. Very enjoyable.
Different and good, although I feel like there is some unfinished business. Will it come back? Will we know what happens to Destiny's son? (Am I the only one who wonders?) I really enjoy these books, wish they came more often.
Harmony appears to have lost her “gift” to connect with souls who are lost, injured or on the verge of death. She has to confront the knowledge that it could be gone forever while solving a decades old murder.
This was still a major finding mystery in what in the world happened? So they still had to go look for people but the gift to see isn't helping like it was. So now what. Well we need more story to find out!!

this is a good story. she is having trouble with her gift and wonders what could be interfering with the ability to hear people in trouble. if you like suspense you will enjoy reading the book
Harmony’s dreams connect her to those needing answers. Her connecting to others seems to be dwindling. This book focused on the relationships of those on the team.
Totally enjoyed it! This is a well written and has well developed characters. The story is catching and with the strong characters makes for a very enjoyable read. Great Reading Everyone!
A good installment. Liked the touch of romance. Knew where the Wyatt/Serena story was going but did like it. A good cozy mystery. Can’t wait to see where the whole thing with her powers goes.
The rescue Alaska series is 1 of my favorites By Kathy Daly
This is 1 of my favorite series by this author however this book left me wanting more There was a lot of unanswered questions And sort of a clip hanger ending Lack of it better term Although the story line was great and I really enjoyed reading the story things didn't wrap up The way they usually do it in these books Overall it was great I just wish There was a conclusion that made a little more sense and wasn't left open the way it was I look forward to the next book in the series hoping that it Will be able to answer the unanswered questions in this series And help conclude Everything that was left opened ended in this book I still look for it to a lot more books in this series I absolutely love rescue the last Alaska Mysteries series
