To repay a debt to an old friend, Breed vampire and former Hunter, Razor, has been drone surveilling a remote Colorado cabin for nearly a year, never imagining the beautiful woman he's become obsessed with from afar is anyone but his friend's lover, Laurel Townsend. When his mission turns urgent and Razor is tasked with retrieving Laurel from imminent danger, he arrives only to find the cabin destroyed and the woman inside brutally murdered. Vowing lethal justice against those responsible, Razor's hunt collides with free-spirited Willow Valcourt, Laurel’s identical twin sister.

Willow is on her way to visit Laurel when an immense Breed male mistakes her for her sister. Even more shocking is the revelation that Laurel has been murdered. The last person Willow should trust is a lethal predator like Razor, yet he is all that stands between her and the powerful, hidden enemies who killed her twin. A cross-country chase and cryptic clues left behind by Laurel send Willow and Razor on a journey that will take them from the twins’ tragic past to the threshold of an international scheme to wage a secret, final war on the Breed—with Willow plunged into the center of it. Drawn together by survival, haunted by loss, and surrounded by peril at every turn, Willow and Razor have only each other to prevent catastrophe. Yet as Willow surrenders to the needs only Razor can satisfy in her, and Razor vows to safeguard the true mate he never expected to find, their newfound passion will be put to the ultimate test that may cost both their lives.

The breed are back baby!!!! If you don't know about the midnight breed series you are missing out on some of the most deadly and sexy tattooed alien vampires ever written!!!! And the Hunter legacy series spin off is fantastic!!! Lara Adrian is one of the best vampire romance writers and in her new book Guardian Of Darkness the dangerous and sexy Gen One vampire Razor is front and center! A long time ago he made a promise to Theo that if he ever needed him he'd be there. So when Theo asks him to watch over his old lover because she could be in danger he sets up surveillance but when someone sets her home on fire and kills her he makes it his mission to find out who it was. But when her twin sister shows up, it puts her in danger and not only is Razor fighting to keep Willow safe from whoever killed her sister but from him too! He is instantly draw to her and once he sees her breed birth mark it only adds to the monster inside wanting not only to mark her but mate her!! The chemistry between Willow and Razor is combustible!!! Both have had it rough in the past and carry their scars but when they are thrown together it isn't long before the sparks fly and both fall to the temptation of desire and falling in love!! Lara Adrian is a amazing writer and her storytelling and characters pull you into the world of the breed!! Hot alien vampires with big hard hot bodies and fangs, tattooed and amazing in bed! Sign me the fuck up!😂Until next time Luv's😉💋

4 stars!

It’s been a while since I’ve been in this world, and it was so good to be back! This is book #4 in the Hunter Legacy series, which is a spin-off from the Midnight Breed series. Though you could read this as a standalone, there is some crossover of characters and storyline, so you would probably enjoy this one more if you’ve read earlier books in either series. It’s a faced-paced story with great action and romance, and I loved it!

Razor is a Breed vampire, created as a Hunter, the most lethal of his kind. As a favour to an old friend, he has been surveilling a young woman in Colorado to ensure her safety. He’s been drawn to Laurel since the moment he started watching over her, so when he senses she’s in danger he rushes to her side only to be too late to save her. He wants vengeance and is determined to track down her killer when he literally runs into Laurel’s identical twin sister, Willow. Razor had no idea that Willow even existed, but he quickly realises that she is actually the woman he’s been watching and obsessing over, and he vows to help her on a mission to track down the people responsible for Laurel’s death, and find out why she was targeted.

It's a fast paced and exciting ride as Razor and Willow follow a series of clues that her sister left behind, with an unknown threat following their every move. They never expected that their journey would lead to them unravelling a secret conspiracy which threatens the very existence of the Breed. Just as well they have Razor’s brother and the Order, to help them on the way.

The thrills are there as Razor and Willow run for their lives, but I was feeling the chemistry between them from the very beginning, and I was all about the romance. Razor is already feeling so much for Willow, and the close proximity, strong emotion and danger of their situation makes their growing attraction all the more intense. They have both lived mostly isolated lives, so having somebody to rely on, to care for, and to share their wild journey has them falling fast and hard, and I loved every moment of it! The mad anticipation, the hot kisses and the steamy sexy time, there’s so much emotion to all of it, and the added paranormal ‘mate’ factor just makes it better.

If anything ever happened to this precious woman, he would burn down the whole fucking world in his fury.

It’s a wonderful mix of action, suspense and romance with a gorgeous element of found family. I loved these characters and their story, and I loved seeing them get the happy ending they so deserve.

Such a great read – 4 stars.

Wow willow and Razor were beautiful and sad but I love their story. I hope the series continues and we get more of the Breed. I was so sad to see the main series end so I hope the Hunter series continues at least

From the beginning of this spin off series of the Breed series, I have looked forward to Razor's story. We meet him in book one during his surveillance of a woman and fighting his obsession (while his brothers give him a hard time). I did not like the miscommunication in this book, but the plot was good and I liked seeing characters from earlier in this series as well as the original series. I'm going to need to go back and catch up on the original series now that this one is finished. It's been enjoyable to jump back into this world.

Really didn't see the twist that was at the start of this one, nor later on when we found out why the death happened. It was good for Willow that Razor had been looking out for Laurel, it saved her life. Seeing these two on the run was odd. At times it was so awkward, at others you could tell they were warming up to each other. When the ran into trouble just when it seemed like they found what they were looking for, that seemed to be the turning point, Willow started to trust Razor. From there things really picked up. Razor going to his brother for a safe place to land, catch their breath and see what they found made sense. It just sucked that Willow took something out of context and Razor had told her what was going on. Things were dicey towards the end, but Razor did what he had to find Willow and make sure she was safe and as a by product saved his whole race.

I'm giving this book four stars because I'm not a fan of the narrator for the audiobook he just has a very monotone voice in the beginning it gets better but it was kind of difficult at first but it is a good book overall I think this is going to be the start of something huge kind of like dragos but different it's more like Hitler meets vampire breed humans are coming out of the woodwork wanting to get rid of all of the vampire breed unfortunately there is a tragedy Willows twin sister is murdered and her and her boyfriend had started a way to get rid of blood lust but it got kind of out of hand and you know when you when you try to do good things you know it can turn into something really bad unfortunately no wedding at the end but there is a Christmas gathering that does happen and I love how knox and razor are like best friends and I'm glad that Lenny has her baby at the end and it's very cute basically all hell breaks loose because these people that want the end of the world of the vampire breed are in pursuit of Willow because her blood is their key to get in their genocide so you basically see how razor fights to the death to save her and protect her obviously I absolutely love the series I just hope that the narrator and the audiobook next is not quite as monotone

Something spooked Willow Valcourt’s twin, Laurel Townsend, enough that she hid out in a Colorado mountain cabin near Willow. Hunter Breed Razor became obsessed watching Laurel’s wellbeing by drone for their mutual friend, Theo. A call has Razor rushing to protect Laurel when he’s told things are dire. Laurel’s dead and the home is smoldering ash when he arrives. Going down the mountain Razor’s puzzled to see Laurel rushing up in her jeep.

Actually, Razor sees Willow and overhears the arriving police discuss how they murdered Laurel. It isn’t easy for Razor to convince Willow, as Laurel’s identical twin, she needs protection and the police were involved in Laurel’s death. Deciding to trust Razor, Willow shares Laurel gave her a task to perform if something happened to her. The instructions lead Razor and Willow to a Canadian ambush, a drive and learning Willow’s a breedmate. Deciding help and safety are needed, Razor goes to fellow breed, Knox. Willow is horrified to see and hear what’s on the drive while Razor is intrigued.

It's been almost two years since I was submerged into the Midnight Breed/Hunter series and it took a moment to dive back in. It was finally nice to get Razor's story, finally meeting the woman he had been watching over at a friend's request, only to become obsessed with her.

I have to say, it was refreshing to not have too many clues as to what to expect in this story, and that it tied in well with the original series and The Order's fight against those that would destroy The Breed.

On the run, and forced to be in close proximity with the woman he's come to love but had believed belong to another man before he finally met her, Razor fights against his feelings for Willow. The two of them must figure out the mystery of who is behind the death of her sister and why.

I really wish there were more books already written in this series as I hate that I can't stay submerged in the world of The Breed for a while longer.

Harms always lurking

This was a great story that pulled us back into the world of the Breed, breedmates, hunters and the Order in general. Just when you think that the Order has sorted out and suppressed the uprising against their kind, yet another threat emerges. It’s always interesting to see how something as benign as research intended to “heal” the rogues could actually have very sinister intentions. Once again, it is amazing how fantasy is much in line with what is happening in the world today- and makes one stop and think about the “truth” and “reality” around us. I liked both Razor and Willow with their individual stories and insecurities as their intertwined stories began to unfold. It was also very satisfying to see familiar characters from previous novels take active roles in this story. What can I say, I loved it!

Any time one gets a Laura Adrian book in handits an experience not to be missed.

Finding an exceptional writer like Laura Adrian through Kindle Unlimited is a win. Ms. Adrian is a well-known writer of the Breed Books. Most lovers of the paranormal/vampire romance genre have read her books at one time or another. She is a top-notch author with many, many novels to her credit. Every book is so well-written that they are a pleasure to read. No sloppy editing, no grammatical mistakes littering the pages, and no lazy world-building. Just well-executed writing that is an absolute pleasure to read in today's self-published world.
I started reading Ms. Adrian when the first Breed book was released in paperback. I currently have all Breed books in paperback and those released for e-books. I don't regret a single purchase. I consider the money well spent.

Hunter Legacy

I love this series from the start it’s always a go for me. I hope Ms Adrian continues to write more of this series maybe a new generation. Razor is a former assassin from the Hunter program and a human friend ask him to keep an eye on a ex girlfriend. While he watches her from a drone he finds himself fall for the beauty. Willow ran away from an orphanage long ago and she has a twin that she knows something is wrong that her twin won’t tell her. Razor finds her twin dead and runs into Willow. They must find out who killed her twin. They have attraction to each other that they try to fight it. Can they find out each other’s secrets? Please give this series a read you will not be disappointed.

Nice Wrap Up

This book ended the series with nothing left to wonder about. I liked how everyone was hinted at coming together in the end and finding their HEA with family. I do feel Asher got the short end being misunderstood..... out of all the Hunter brothers covered in this series, he was the only one not to be claimed by anyone based on what they thought about him. I feel like something should have happened where light was shed on the happenings of their captivity that proved he wasn't what they thought, and he too could have been reunited with brothers. Instead he doesn't really seem connected to the rest of the series too much as other than their villain.

Enjoyed getting to know Razor and Willow

Razor is guarding Laurel via a drone when he feels he needs to be closer to her. He is guarding her for a friend, but finds he’s drawn to her and may betray his friend’s trust.

Arriving at her cabin he finds Laurel dead. Overcome with grief for failing his friend and losing the woman he was falling for, he come face to face with the woman he had actually been watching…Willow, Laurel’s twin sister.

They work together to find who wanted to kill Laurel and why. The answer to that is a set of page turning twists and turns.

A really good addition to the Breed series I enjoyed and I think you will too.

Guardian of Darkness by Lara Adrian is part of her Hunter Legacy series. Can a Breed male fall on love with someone via video recording? Razor is one of the most lethal Hunters the Breed has ever seen but can he also love? Willow is a human with a chip on her shoulder the size of Texas. How do you learn go trust after a lifetime of hurt? Razor and Willow have so many reasons to hate, to mistrust, and to refuse love but can they also overcome? Their story is full of intense moments and intrigue. From start to finish you'll be hooked.

Razor is an honorable Gen One. Escaping from a basement with other brothers the night Dragos let his bloodlust vampires loose on society. Doing a favor for a friend he comes across a murder. Things get crazy from there.

Wonderful!

Love these stories. The Hunters as a group of Breeds had such a harsh beginning to life, and it is only a strong Breed mate who can bring them peace and happiness. Of course, the trouble they have to go through to get there is filled with action and suspense. Hopefully not the last one!!

nicely wrapped up

Sad to see series ending but this wrapped it up a little sweetly. I would have liked more of an edge as previous 4 in this series. Adrian’s version of the vampire world is emotionally satisfying hitting highs, lows and ahhs… Hope she has another offshoot of her series coming.

Great Book

Once again, Laura Adrian gives us a love story for another Breed male vampire. His name is Razor and he was born in a laboratory and trained to fight and kill. This is the love story of how he was fortunate enough to meet a woman who bore the breed mate birthmark. a great read don’t miss it!

👍

Why is it that there are those individuals out there that want to destroy in the name of science and "saving humanity" as if that is all there is. Understanding....why is that word so hard for any individual? It is like this story reflects today's world.... Good story.
