Welcome to Starry Hollow, where spells were made to be broken.
Ever since the moment her trio of magical cousins whisked her away to Starry Hollow, the town has served as a safe haven for Ember Rose, descendant of the One True Witch. Even the bumps in the roads have smoothed—she’s reconciled with her formidable aunt and is about to marry the love of her life, Sheriff Nash.
All the bumps except the Ivy-shaped one, that is.
Now the entire town is under threat because of a mistake Ember made. Granted, she wasn’t the one who mistreated her ancestor centuries ago, but she was the one who resurrected her.
And now Ivy is ready to exact revenge on the coven that wronged her.
Can Ember stop the mutiny and save her beloved hometown, or will the one-witch rebellion destroy Starry Hollow forever?
Magic & Mutiny is the 19th and final book in the Starry Hollow Witches series, so be sure not to miss how it all ends!

A great series deserves a great send-off, and this is exactly what Annabel Chase has treated us to with the conclusion of the Starry Hollow Witches series.
Everything was wrapped perfectly, with a little suspense, some witchy action, lots of emotion… and Raoul, of course.
I really love this series! I am sad this is the last one. I really liked how the author tied up loose ends and left things open for a new series possibly. Great series!
enjoyable but at 19 books not sure that’s a commitment I’d make again
Rating: 3.5⭐️
Magic & Mutiny (Starry Hollow Witches Book 19) is the finale book of this series by Annabel Chase. And while it started out great, I think it ran on a bit too long.
The characters and themes got repetitive and some of their growth was handled poorly. Or halted altogether.
It ends happily, and there’s an epilogue where we see the characters a couple of years later, and what’s happened in their lives. That’s satisfying.
The ending is fine, with some issues. There’s a murder investigation, which is tied to how will the town of Starry Hollow deal with the return of the very much alive Ivy Rose.
Ivy is the best element here, she’s a sympathetic character and how her situation is resolved is wonderful.
But the person and people responsible and their actions aren’t well written. It fluctuates from a stand of firmness of position (she’s evil) to immediate change in opinion (my bad, she’s not) in seconds. There’s no reason or real constructive character or foundation for any of this. And it undermines the entire storyline.
Then it’s let’s say we understand her motivations. Slap on the wrist. Sigh. It took how many books and this is how Ivy’s story is resolved?
Way too long. A wedding and done.
So it’s nice that each book was a quick read but I’m not sure I’d invest my time reading 19 books again with this outcome. It’s a ok read.
For fans of Annabel Chase I’m sure you’ll be fine.
Same cute covers that change ever subtly.

I'm sad to see the series come to an end, and I was disappointed in how it ended. If I didn't love the series so much, I would have probably given this one a 2 star rating, but that's not fair. The book was very well written, loose ends were tied up, and hopefully they will all live happily ever after. My main complaints are personal dislikes. I know weddings are inevitable in cozy mysteries, even the witchy ones, but I hate weddings! And was it really necessary for Ember to have another child? I also hated that the Rose witches decided to let some of their power go. They might need that power some day to protect their family or save their community from an unforeseen danger. As one of the characters reminded Marley, it's OK to excel at everything. It's ok for some witches to be more powerful than others so long as they use that power for good.
The only part of the ending I really liked was that at last Ivy was vindicated and accepted, and that she has a raccoon as her familiar.

This is the final book of this series. I was a great book with lots of action and amazing characters! I will miss these stories.

I struggled through this series at times, and I got mad and cried but yet how can I truly fault the ending?
Ember deserved a happy ending with everything she went through and I’ve never been happier to see a long series to the end.
This series has honestly made me feel warm, fluffy and happy and no matter the twists and turns throughout the series, I’m so glad things ended the way they did.
Through every book I thought I’d guessed the right answer and still ended up surprised. I felt guilt, love, anger and uncertainty but also felt like I couldn’t discount anyone.
I will always find a reason to recommend this series from now on. So thank you Annabel Chase for introducing me to Starry Hollow and making it a reason for me to continue reading 💖
I have been caught up in this series since book one! From vampires to werewolves and witches and leprechauns it has been a roller coaster of a ride as Ember settled into her new life in Starry Hollow. Bringing change and healing, for both herself and others, Ember is now ready to marry her fiancé and make peace with her resurrected relative but will she get to do either - and what does the death of the High Priest of the Coven have to do with anything? A wonderful ending to an awesome series of books, I genuinely couldn’t put this book down!
Ivy's causing trouble, and possibly worse. Many in the coven want to see her punished but without proof, Ember, Granger and a few others don't believe she's responsible for everything. They'll figure it out.
There's a wedding to look forward to. Ember and Granger get married and start their new life together. There's even a couple of surprise guests. No spoilers from me. LOL!
I really dislike reading the final book in any series. I get caught up in the characters and look forward in seeing their potential for growth. I'm going to miss Starry Hollow but I'm glad I could visit for a while.
I loved the story line of this book. However, the ending of it all seemed very rushed, and almost as it was not really thought through completely. It seemed as though the author, knowing she is writing other books now, just wanted to hurry this book along to finish up the story line, which frankly, I rather her not finish the story line at all than to feel like the book was just thrown together and rushed just to finish the story. It just did not have the same feel as the other books in the series, and it somewhat hurt my heart because there could've been such a great climax to it all and then the end that happened, rather than what actually happened throughout the book.
Just finished this book, the last one of the series of 19. Each one was a pleasure to read finally leading to a satisfying conclusion. The series follows a woman who until she was in her late twenties didn't know she was a witch. Bought up in the human world she was transported with her daughter to Starry Hollow where she had learn magic. It is both a magical detective series and a love story. Each book tells a different story and the only cliffhanger is around the growth of her power, her relationships with her family and her romance. I really enjoyed each book and binge read the series.
I read this last night and I have to say it was perfect. The story arc for Ivy was awesome. Raoul's vulnerable, soft side almost had me tearing up. That was a sweet scene. I love that the author included an ending for Alec. I am grateful she included the epilogue rather than having readers chase it down online. I've loved this series so much and I will miss these characters, even Deputy Bolan. There isn't much more that I can say without spoilers. Many thanks to the author for the thoughtfulness imbued into this final book. She put your heart in it and it shows.
I read the first book in the series, but waited until I had read the complete series before I decided to review the complete series as one item. I really enjoyed reading this series and looking at it as a single story, each book as a chapter, and as each chapter was ravealed, the story was more absorbing. I was more interested as the story unfolded, and I was enthralled by the way the story unfolded. I will certainly follow this author in my future reading
What a wonderful ending to a fabulous series? This is the first series I read by this author and I will be reading many more in the future. I love the characters. And the storyline and I’m so happy with the way it all turned out. I won’t give spoilers for those. I’ve not read it yet but it was perfect. I cannot wait to sample more of this authors books and series. The audible narration for these last three books was excellent. I made my experience much more enjoyable.
Coming to the end of ember’s story was always going to be sad. After all we had invested years reading her adventures and carrying one. Luckily this Annabel tied up all the loose ends for us as well as giving us her normal. Great story. Goodbye Ember, Granger, Marley, all the Roses and other fully fleshed out characters that contributed to such lovely stories. Magical!
This is the final book in a 19 book series, and as much as I had enjoyed the previous books, this one felt rushed. It takes place three weeks after the previous book, and nothing happens. Considering the dire premonition of death and destruction, as well as Ivy’s centuries of plotting and revenge, we get a convoluted “mystery” and a kitten playing with yarn. I did enjoy the epilogue and some of the bantering from the familial relationships.
I've enjoyed the whole series. It finished giving a closure to everyone's beginning, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. But does it have to stop there. Who becomes High Priestess & High Priest, what about Marley's story or Wren & Delphine, Hazel, Marigold, Bryn, Hudson, Alec, Rauol & Ginger, IVY, Ember & Granger could do with a set of triplets . I really hate to see it end.
I can honestly say that I've never been as engrossed in a book, let alone a series, as mush as Starry Hollow Witches. The imagery painted by Annabel's captivating writing held my attention so much that I honestly couldn't put the books down. Magic & Mutiny was the cherry on top of the series. It didn't waiver in its storyline, answered all the what if's we were all holding in the back of our minds, and left us with a glimpse of the future.
This appears to be the wrap for "Starry Hollow Witches." We have the wrap for Ivy finally living her best life. Ember and the Sheriff married with a baby. Florian and Honey married with a baby. And Raoul finally meeting the Raccoon Love of his life through Ivy's new familiar. Do we hear the patter of baby Raccoon paws in his future? I'm sure we haven’t heard the last from Starry Hollow! ... Thank you, Annabel!
I cannot praise this book or the series it completes enough!
Characterisation, drama, story arcs large and small, leading lady Ember's personality, the settings, the writing, the humour and the gripping highlights made this the best series I've read this year! If you love supernatural worlds with an urban fantasy feel you will love these books.
Hopefully, we’ll see periodic forays into the world of Starry Hollow. In the interim, this sweet, interesting chaotic, happy, engaging book has brought magical and mystery-filled tales of Starry Hollow to a close - or, maybe, a pause. It was a nice long ride with a sweet ending!
A perfect end to this glorious series, I didn’t want it to end but enjoyed every page, I also want a raccoon as a pet. Ember and Grainger get their hea and the Ivy situation is finally resolved. Hyacinth began in book one with appearance and status as priority but ended with love and family.
There really are no words to express my joy for the stories that have been provided by this exceptional Author Annabel Chase. The laughter and the tears. The nights reading till almost dawn to find out what happens next, lol. When you find an author who brings all this and more, such excitement with every chapter. Thank you for Starry Hollow.
Excellent denouement to a cheerful and cheeky series
I have enjoyed these books so much from start to finish. I have laughed out loud so many times. I adore Ember's indefatigable hope and joy. Thank you, Ms. Chase. I will reread them repeatedly. They have given me tremendous happiness.
I have enjoyed the starry hollow series so much that I binge read them! They were magical in every way. Embers journey was so incredible, I just couldn’t put it down. If you’ve never read anything by Annabelle Chase, this is a really good series with which to start. Just wonderful.
I tried not to cry. I've loved this series from the beginning, and I am so grateful for both the Spellbound and Starry Hollow books. They have brought magic to life. The characters are so endearing, and I will miss them greatly. Maybe someday, Ms. Chase will revisit both series.
Nineteen books but I can’t believe the series is over. There’s so much more I need to know!! This book made me smile and made me cry, I loved it. The characters are my friends and Starry Hollow is now my home, I wish. I’m going to miss these characters. This was a great series!!!
The final book of the series finishes up with one last murder mystery of course, solves the “Ivy situation” and sees Ember finally get her happy ever after.
I was really pleased with the outcome as I’ve been an avid reader since day one and we even got a nice epilogue.
Such an amazing series, I am sad to see it come to an end. I’m looking forward to jumping into another series by Annabel Chase. The conclusion felt natural and I enjoyed the final story. This book had the happy and a little sad. I love that everyone comes together when needed. I hope you enjoyed the series as much as I did.
