As Ashacan - the honored hunter of her elven tribe - Nhuaela is eager to prove herself worthy of rank and defend her tribe from any threat. But after a clan of burned men ambush her village, her entire family and life are desecrated. Pulled back from the brink of death - and begrudgingly alive - Nhuaela must prove her innocence. Catherine Vino has built an amazing fantasy land and despite the fantastical characters, she made me care about their plight and survival while creating an intriguing world of survival of the fittest. Hard to say if the good guys won, but certainly reason for a sequel!
I just finished reading this book and am eager for Volume 2 to be published. The main character and her relationships are well developed- to the point I was very invested in her world within the first chapters. The action ramps up quickly and it kept me from putting the book down well into the night. I definitely want to read more!
I don’t normally read Fantasy, but this book came highly recommended. So glad that I gave it a try! I found myself thoroughly engaged in this well written tale of magic and adventure. I eagerly await the next volume in this series. Well done.
