When Annora wakes in her enemy’s bed, looking exactly like the beautiful woman in a painting from her home, he believes her to be his wife.
Her one chance of escape is to find the woman who gifted her the painting. Until then, Annora is trapped with a husband she doesn’t want, in a world where she doesn’t belong, and in a court full of lurking danger.
He can never know the truth of who she really is. Not when he hunts and kills people like her—people with silver fire magic.
Every day she pretends to be his wife, he discovers more and more of her secrets. And every night, she rejects him, the more he craves her. Denying him may take everything she has…or more.
Author This is a continuation series from The Cursed bloodstone, focusing on the Hematite tribe. This series can be read without reading The Cursed Bloodstone first.

Wow I loved this book! The premise was unique to me and a great slow burn between Annora and Jasce.
The world building was fairly easy going and clear to understand, the different houses were really intriguing and I’d love to hear more about them!
This was well on the way to a 5 star read to me until the ending, it ends of a cliff and the plot device was a little cliched for me, I think it worked ok but I was a little disappointed, it may have worked better if I could immediately read the next book but it’s not out yet!
Other areas that I felt could have been developed were the length, it was fairly short with quite a few time jumps over chapters, I felt we could have seen more of day to day life and seen more of that fall between Jasce and Annora, it may have worked if we had dual pov to hear from Jayce to flesh it out more. Him finding the seashell drawings or a bit more development over why he was going for those cold lake swims!! The war was told and not shown, events moved pretty quickly and whilst I was reading I didn’t mind too much but I could have done with more of everything!
The strengths were definitely the tension and build between Jasce and Annora and the twists I didn’t see coming (and there were a few before the end!). The world definitely gripped me and I read most of it in one go! I can’t wait to find out why Annora had ended up where she was and what happens next.
It’s definitely romantasy and I was all there for it, I’m glad there is a second book and I will definitely be picking it up! Definitely recommend for a quick read if you don’t mind a cliffhanger!
Thank you to the author for the arc of this book, this is my honest review.
Let me just say, the storyline is amazing! I received an arc copy for an honest review.
I love the tension between Annora and Jasce. I think this book is the definition of slow burn and enemies to lovers. My only concern is the lack of important information. There was no world building, there were conversations about people we’d never met or heard of. Trips to locations that we didn’t know where they were at. Some of this can maybe be blamed on the fact that Annora didn’t remember much, but not all of it. I think a map added to the book somewhere would be a plus.
There were a lot of repeated sentences. “I wake up…” or “the next morning…” it got to be a lot. Also, there was a lot of time jumps. I feel like there were important moments or information that could have been given.
I understand this is a two book series and this is my first arc read, but I’ve never read a fantasy book that was less than 300 pages. I read this on Apple Books and it came out to 252 pages. I’m not sure if arc books are like half the book or what, if so, cool. If not, I feel like the book was a bit rushed. It ended on a major cliffhanger. I am not sure if this is normal for this author, but I read the second books synopsis and it doesn’t seem to pick up where this one left off. I may be wrong though.
All in all, this was a great book. I am a hardcore fantasy romance fan and this hit almost all the spots. With a few more tweaks and additional information here and there, I think this book could be amazing.

I honestly loved it. I couldn’t put it down and read it in 4 hours. It was fast paced and one helluva page turner. We have our FMC waking up in a body that isn’t her own - as the wife of a man of a rival house. We follow her journey there and her keeping her secret of who her true identity is. The twists at the end I didn’t see coming either! There was a couple and one was a jaw dropper imo. This is more romance than fantasy. There are aspects of magic and body swapping. That’s abt as far as the magic goes. There is a lot of angst and build up but very little spice. It has the enemies/rivals to lovers vibe. I loved it. I really hope the author will write another book to continue this series. Now, I want to read more from her!
Note - the only reason I gave this 4 ⭐️ is bc I wish the book was longer and we had more time w the characters. The build up was perfect and then the ending felt the slightest bit rushed. I still loved it, nonetheless 🩶❤️
I’ve read A Reflection of Silver and Crimson as an ARC reader, which means that I did not read the extra chapter yet. This is the review of the rest of the book:
As it seems to bet the case of any books by Lianne Kay, the book was simply too short. Don’t get me wrong, though! Although I felt like at some places I would have liked the pace to slow down a little, maybe have a bit more words in some situations, I must state with full disclosure that this is due to my completely subjective and perhaps a little unhealthy obsession with this author’s books. I could read a million pages and in the middle of the book I would already be screaming that I don’t have enough left.
What I find so excellent about this book, other than the obvious genius of the world building, is how relatable I found Annora. To be quite frank, I found myself being more drawn to her than Sol (from The Cursed Bloodstone series which I’ve also read) as her motives were simply closer to my experience – and perhaps to most women nowadays. While Sol is driven by her lust for revenge, which eventually made me sometimes a bit confused by her reasoning, I found Annora’s situation to be perfectly clear and understandable – and I certainly could understand more a soul tormented by body-image issues, though Sol also sometimes displayed those.
The relationship to the MMC feels natural though it may not be such a slowburn as in Betrayer, again perhaps this might feel so because I miss the extra chapter and devoured the book in one day... I have never been much of a fan of the he-falls-first trope, Kay plays with tropes very skilfully in her works and A Reflection may just be the game-changing book for me. At the end, I had more questions than answers and I tried to bribe my Kindle to give me more. (Unsuccessfully. What a brat...). You will certainly need some time to accept that the book is really over and should expect to be unable to stop thinking about the sequel. A Reflection of Lies and Truth cannot come soon enough!
*I received an arc copy in exchange for an honest review*
Annora, reportedly the ugliest thing you've ever seen (judging by her own crying in bemoaning, I imagined her as a gore horror product), suddenly wakes up in another womans body. Trust me it's very sudden. This woman is married to the heir to some land, and the guy is very dull and confused because his bitchy wife magically became a docile and kind angel. That's it. Now that we've cleared this:
Ok this is tough. I actually love the series Betrayer, which this is a spin off from, but sadly this book did not work for me. The main character was too much for me - to the point I was far more interested in Lyra, whos supposed to be the bad girl with horrible qualities. There's a point in this story where the character says that because she grew up ugly, she had to actually develop some brains, but the thing is: we never see it! She has the intelligence and intellect of a 6 year old, her questions and conflicts are so unbelievably silly, and she seems to miss all the important questions and conflicts that anyone with a brain would be worrying about. At some point I was mentally begging that she story would do a 360° and Annora would no longer be our main character so we would get to see whatever Lyra was doing.
And I was also wishing Annora didn't exist at all: it would genuinelly be much more engaging if the book was about a bitchy and uptight girl who comes back completely different thanks to some mystery she refuses to share, and now her husband is for once interested in her. It's simple and works. But this? Ugly humble girl wakes up inside pretty girl and all of a sudden she's worth something to everyone else? I hated it. It's a disservice to both girls: Annora is only worth it if pretty, Lyra is only worth it if humble. What is this, the FLDS agenda?
That's because I can't really recall everything right now, but the story itself was just... Non existing. All she does is stay home, pity herself, sleep, refuse Jasce and repeat. She makes no real effort to conceal herself or find out this mystery; at no point does she wonder what is happening with her body or if Lyra has taken her place. The book doesn't have a climax because there is literally nothing happening in it in order to provoke one. We go from stake one to stake one without a single fluctuation. All she does is stay put, rinse and repeat, and never in this immense boredom does the character even grow emotionally/intellectually.
Also I can't even with the guy. He's a cardboard cutout of every single alpha romantasy guy ever, and there isn't a single scene or exchange where we're lead to believe or learn a little more than that. He's just... Stale. Boring. Basic. And a little dumb? Sometimes, when the guy is this awful/tough, there is at least one little element about him that makes us learn that there's a little more to him, a little cleverness, or he knows something that we don't, but there was nothing! He was more clueless than me. So. Yeah. I don't know what happened here: but it didn't work for me. Not sure I'll be getting through with booK 2.

The story had potential, but everything felt one-dimensional. The characters, and the lack of world building. What was the plot even? Sure it did capture one's attention due to the mystery of the heroine being in someone else's body, but the romance fell flat for me and then I got bored. Every chapter was short, and thus became a rather choppy story "FOR THE SAKE OF IT". Maybe if this was a smutty manga I would have continued on for pleasure's sake, but no, this slow burn wasn't even good. The male lead was like a caveman I didn't approve of, magically appearing and showing himself in moments where 'cue - enters male lead to cause drama or a scene' - and THAT'S ALL he was good for.
Needless to say, the characters lacked depth. The love story was tepid and I'm spoilt by top notch romance authors that I found this story very lacking. This story was like a passage of bullet points made to feel like a novel.
While the length was a bummer for me (I like my books thick) and the ending seemed so abrupt (loved the cliffhanger though), I still really enjoyed this story!
Annora was a very interesting character. She was so timid to begin with and I could see the growth she was beginning to make before the story got cut off. I also enjoyed Jasce’s character, even though he was coming off as a tad insta love for me. He seemed like such a perceptive person, and yet it took him so long to realize the truth of the situation. He doesn’t replace Arcadius or Hector for me, but he has potential!
There better be more of Annora and Jasce’s story because this book was not enough for me! Give us more LiAnne!
Thank you for allowing me to read this story in advance and me an ARC reader for you! ❤️
This was a quick read, I really used it as a pallet cleanser after my last amazing read. Was an easy read, not a whole lot of depth in my opinion, but I’ll read the next book since it ended on a cliff hanger.
Annora wakes up in the body of her enemy’s wife in the stronghold of the rival House of Crimson, while she herself is from the House of Silver.
The setup has so much promise: forced proximity, identity confusion, a slow-burn tension between Annora and Jasce, heir of House Crimson. The magic systems (silver fire, the rivalry of the Houses) add texture.
My fave parts: • The moment when Jasce realises “his wife” is not who everyone assumes, and Annora wrestling with keeping her secret while living in constant danger. • The way the authors uses the body-swap / identity trope in a fantasy-romance setting to raise stakes and emotional tension. • The dialogue and banter between Annora and Jasce, which delivers that enemies-to-lovers vibe.
Where it didn’t fully land for me: • The world-building felt a bit scant: the rivalry between the Houses, the history of Annora’s origin, the workings of the magic system…all promising yet not fully fleshed out. • Because the book ends on a cliffhanger (this is the first in a series) I felt like the resolution was minimal and I was left a little unsatisfied. • At times Annora’s internal monologue dragged, repeating her fear, uncertainty, and “what am I doing here” thoughts without enough action or character growth to balance it out.
Overall, while I enjoyed the concept, characters and tension, the execution felt a little under-developed. It’s a fine read if you like quick fantasy romances with a steady enemies-to-lovers spark, but for me it lacked the depth I was hoping for.
Would I continue the series? Yes — because I’m curious to see how the identity crisis, the magic, and the House rivalry escalate. But I wouldn’t say it was a must-read for everyone.
Spice is like 1/5, lots of build up for no reward really.

From the beginning of the book, I was gripped by the first pages as the plot emerges as Annora wakes up in the bed of a complete stranger in a body that is not hers, the enemy thinking it is his wife Lyra. This story starts off strongly with a world created in an excellent way, each chapter grabs you wanting to devour the book in one sitting which I finished in one day because I couldn't stop reading. It is a romance as well as we see fantasy, the two sides Silver and Crimson as Annora has an incredible development is stubborn, caregiver, Family oriented, simple just wanting the good for others, abused and trapped from a very young age by a misfortune manages to forge a strong character.
As the book goes on incorporate with each other, she with the worry that they will find out she is not Lyra and lock her up or worse kill her the only thing she wants is to go back to her sisters, yet she discovers in this new body things she thought would not be meant for her. Jasce falls for her first, seeing the relationship between them as both of them despite everything they believe manage to get closer to each other left me wanting to know more of their story. I need a second part now! I was left wanting to keep reading, I wanted it to be a longer story. The characters and the world-building are excellent, this will be one of the fantasy series that I will gladly follow because I need to follow Annora and Jasce's story closely. The ending was too much I couldn't believe it ended that way, I'll be waiting for the second part now with more encouragement. In the next book, I would love to see in more detail the powers, especially to know more about Annora, what a great surprise she will give us in the next book.
Thank you writer Lianne Kay for the opportunity to read this ARC, from now on you have a loyal fan of your stories. I'm rating this story with 5 stars.
I received the ARC for an honest review! This book is the definition of slow burn and enemies to lovers. It is missing a lot of world building. It is missing a lot of back story on characters given the circumstances of Annora being placed into Lyra’s body. There was no explanation of what happened to the healer. We received some of the relationships between characters but it didn’t go further than one or two conversations. And what the heck happened at the end??? Was it all a dream since she was never gone? We were left with no explanation of how she found her way back into her body after her encounter with Jarrod. Or what the heck happened right before she found herself back into her body. There was a lot of “The next morning…” and the “spice scene could be more descriptive”. A lot more character and relationship building could happen between Jasce and Annora so that we can see Jasce starting to develop feelings for Annora. It goes from Jasce trying to bed and impregnate Lyra, to him finding out the truth very quickly, to all of a sudden he is intrigued with the enemy’s granddaughter without seeing the relationship build. And it mentioned Asha having a son only once. It mentioned the loss of siblings from a carriage accident only once. Information that could either be explained further and weaved into the storyline a bit more or taken out all together. It’s not necessary information the way it’s been written in and very little mention of it. I would love to see the author grow more in her writing. There is a lot of potential for this storyline to grow and a lot of potential in the author herself.

So this book has one of my favorite tropes - a slow burn enemies-to-lover, sort of forced marriage with one bed. Annora wakes up to discover she's switched bodies with her enemy's wife. They're married and everyone is pressuring her to produce an heir for the House of Crimson. Somehow this son of the chieftan who has been fighting and killing people from her House of Silver is still kind of enough to not force her to sleep with him. But she's basically trapped there and not allowed to leave.
I didn't get a real sense of world building or what the two houses were really fighting about. She mentions fire magic and silver magic but not in great detail. This may have been explained more in the previous series. The sentence structures were simple and didn't seem to flow easily. I would have loved to have some more character development and a little more steam but Annora can't deny her attraction to Jasce and she's torn with the idea of liking her enemy. She's a inexperienced young woman who does desire to have all those experiences with a man since her grandfather basically shunned her. I did feel like the term "spread my legs for him" was a little overused.
This was a very quick and easy read. It does end with a cliffhanger but I'm not sure that I am invested enough to continue with the series.
I received this ARC from the author in exchange for my honest review.
This story has no substance and no plot to be frank. I only finished it because I spent the whole book waiting for something to happen, only to find out suddenly it was over
There is not enough world building, no backstory to get you going. Kay seems to believe the reader has been in her head from the beginning and therefore needs no explanation about well...anything? Basically the only thing that happens is Annora lies on a bed 50 times, or puts on her "cotehardie". Like ok we get it. Kay write the same scene over and over and forget to write anything else.
Annora is a alright main character but her constant self dislike is frustrating when we aren't given anything to put behind it apart from she has mysterious scars and her grandfather was a jerk.
Jasce is basically just awful. I saw another reviewer say this is a slow burn romance but it's not. Two pages into meeting Jasce and he is practically trying to force himself on "Lyra" even though Kay keeps hinting he doesn't actually even like her. Also what the hell happened to his first wife? Didn't we get threatened with her same demise without ever hearing about her again? Hopefully she just got the hell away from him because he spends every waking second being annoyed or overly randy.
Kay then disposes of her two main plot bumps in a split second without any explanation as is now on character.
refreshing unique story that is a quick read - which then creates an injustice to this authors normal thorough detailed writing style.
The character development and interest and intrigue that demonstrates the tension between the main characters was just not convincing enough, I didnt feel the suspenseful pull to each page. Lyra stood out more on the page with more dynamic & intrigue making Annora almost unlikeble with her FMC book voice telegraphic flow - creating the effect it feels like there are no conjunctions, no verb conjugations, no adjectives nor adverbs.
I just think this Author is enjoying and trying different writing styles that support vella to novella to short to medium series. That can lead to exciting things.
Im always a fan of this author. Known for strong female protagonists, believable thrillers, adventure and intrigue - as fantastically showcased in the bond between series Tattered book 1 and Book 2 Awakened and also in Book 1 Betrayer The Cursed Bloodstone series.
I will revisit this review when I read book 2.
I purchased my book all 217 pages its was all intact - note other reviewers have commented varying different lengths, if there are issues with your version - contact and speak to the author. Mine was fine.
“Not all journeys are chosen willingly, but they often lead us to places we never imagined.”
The Cliffhanger Queen strikes again, this time with a nice little twist at the end. This series is a spin-off from The Cursed Bloodstone series, and now Lianne Kay can expect me to pester her for the next book in both! 😬
Annora wakes up in someone else’s body, only to discover her new identity is Lyra, the wife of her enemy. Jasce is the heir of the House of Crimson, and as the granddaughter of the leader of House of Silver, Annora can’t stand the thought of being wedded to her sworn enemy…much less give him an heir. Will she be able to push him away until she can find the healer who caused this predicament, and possibly find a way back to her family? And the longer she is with Jasce..will she be able to resist?
“Maybe my Fate isn’t within my control. Maybe it’s shaped by a river that flows through the lives of those around me.”
This story is so good, I read it in one day. Excellent plot, great characters, and just enough steam for those who love steamy romance. Can’t WAIT for the next one in the series! Definitely recommend.
"Not all journeys are chosen willingly, but they often lead us to places we never imagined."
3.5/5
I love the tension between Annora/Lyra and Jasce. It's as slow burn as they come. I wanted the spice, chomping at the bit for me. And that's what an amazing slow burn does. There are a lot of complex plots for such a short book. Under 200 pages, it's hard to get everything set up. I think the author did a good job in regard to that.
While I love the slow burn aspect and the plot so far, I found the world building lacking. There were lots of places mentioned without any background of what those places were, what made those places different, and where those places were. I know that a lot of it was because Annora had no idea what was going on, but there could have been more in terms of at least the area she was in. I wish a map had been added because there were so many places discussed without a reference.
I am looking forward to reading the next book, especially after that cliffhanger! I hope the next book has a bit more explanation as to what's going on and the world gets built up more.
This is so far my favourite book Lianne Kay! Only thing I’m sad about is having to wait for book 2 but…it releases soon(ish). The perfect mix of fantasy and romance.
The book is set in the same world as her Cursed Bloodstone series, and I’d personally recommend reading it before this one. It isn’t a must; however, I loved being able to connect some of the characters to previous depictions of them. It also helps you gain some insight into the world, which is helpful because the book throws a lot of information at you. So reading the series beforehand makes it easier to connect the tribes, timelines, etc.
The storyline itself is quite unique and the tension was just *chefs kiss*. The relationship between Annora and Jasce built up at an even pace. It wasn’t insta-love – so if you love slow-burn and enemies to lovers vibes, this will probably be right up your alley. I liked that Annora wasn't a 1-D character but wish we got to see more of Jasce's POV in the story. Overall, it was a 5-star read and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who loves fantasy, romance, and the beloved enemies-to-lovers trope.
Book review: A Reflection of Silver and Crimson This book was so good! It’s a quick read only like 200 pages and I devoured it in the matter of a few hours! From the first sentence I was hooked! Annora is the lead MC she wakes up in someone else’s body in the stronghold of her family’s enemy! What a way to wake up from sleep huh!?!? And she has to navigate this world while pretending to be someone else and not just anyone but the wife of her enemies son! Jasce is the perfect morally grey man who will do anything to keep her safe even if it means the ruin of things. The story was so well done. I loved the world building, magical system, and the politics. You also get a mystery in the over all plot and an amazing love story and slow burn. The characters are faceted and fully developed. The banter is great. I really loved the story and I cannot wait for book two as we are left on a cliffhanger that is just baffling! Like I’m questioning all I know! I highly recommend this book you really won’t regret reading it!
From the first page, this book hits the ground running. Annora wakes up in a stranger's bed in the body of her enemy's wife. Traversing both her new world along with finding out what happened, it's a good and short read that ends on a cliffhanger.
This world is in the same universe as the author's other series The Cursed Bloodstone and has some small mentions, but the worldbuilding isn't very prominent and the conflict between the two Houses aren't explained enough for the reader to feel the full rivalry. Some of the dialogue seems a bit too modern for the time period and I'm hoping for more character development for all the characters. For slowburn, I wanted it to be slower but I tend to like my slowburn at a snail's pace. There are a few tense scenes between Annora and Jasce that does build up throughout the story.
Overall, it was a quick and easy read with a story that is captivating enough that I'll definitely be waiting for the next book.
I finished this book in one sitting in 5hrs and I absolutely devoured it. This book has everything I love, like slow burn , enemies to lover, forced proximity with a touch of magic. The concept of FMC's body swapped is absolutely fascinating. The plot twist at the end was a jaw-dropping plot twist. I never saw it coming, it was totally unexpected and it caught me by chance. The f*cking cliffhanger is eating me alive man!!! How am I supposed to wait till the next book is released 😩...
Something which could be better : The ending felt a bit rushed or maybe I felt that because of the short book . The world building and character development would have been better, in my opinion. And don't mind me, but I needed some chapters from Jasce's POV also. This book was quick and easy to read. I wanted to know more about MC's life, like their backstories and all. I need more of everything about this book ...it was so short, I want more and more .
Over-all, just go for it and read. It's a unique and amazing story and you will love it .
Whew Chile! That slow burn was fantastic! I was feeling the tension between Annita and Jasce, and Loved it! To start off, I loved that this book was fast paced. Loved that it was enemies to lovers, definitely helped me finish this in a day. Also what helped was LiAnnes amazing writing that she brings. Everything was easy to understand and the story flowed well.
The plot was something I was completely new to. We follow the path of Annora where she wakes up in a body not of her own. I liked reading her story and I was anticipating what would happen next. There wasn’t much world building or character information which made some scenes a bit hard to understand. There was a tad bit of magic, so I would consider this book more romance with a subplot of fantasy.
This book did end with a major cliffhanger so of course I have to read the next book to see what happens next, all in all it was a fun read!

“There’s a mystery that needs to be unraveled, memories that need to be reclaimed, and a path that will take me away from this place and all its horror.”
3/4 ⭐️ I liked this story a lot and I wish there were a hundred more pages sucking me in. It only takes about 3 hours to read and it’s tough to put down. Fast paced intriguing storyline, enticing characters, great spicy scenes, done just right 🌶️🌶️❤️🔥
Why a hint of a 3 and not a solid 4? Because I wish there was more world building, more description of the magic, and just more of this book in general. Some of it seemed sped up and some of it seemed repetitive. However, there were some awesome scenes, some great twists and a doozy of a cliffhanger. Loved the romance as it unfolded and I want more of that too!
Thank you to the author for giving me an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. 📚✨💕
This book isn’t for me. I didn’t like Annora constantly putting herself down. I understand it’s part of the plot and what she grew up hearing but at first she jumps from bed looking for a dagger so I’m think she’s gonna be a badass and she spends the rest of the book a wilting flower.
The book is also rather short. The kindle version I read was 199 pages. Didn’t given enough time for world building or getting to know any side characters or subplots. Who is Lyra? The blackmailing? Why was Tristan trying to kill Lyra? Why would someone from Annoras own house switch her?
The concept is interesting and the tension was great but overall I think I’m not going to continue the series. Especially with the abrupt cliffhanger of this one and it not seeming like the second would pick up there.

ARC REVIEW ~ So i was very excited about this book because the plot is peculiar and different from the usual (FM is body-swapped) and I read it in a few hours 🤣 The setting is special and I am very curious to know more about the magic in this world ✨ The banter between Annora and Jasce was 🔝 and I really enjoyed his possessive about Annora 🔥
“He ignores me and carries me to bed, where he drops me “I want my wife next to me when I sleep” 😮💨
Although, I had the feeling that I was missing pieces as if I had started reading it from a certain chapter onwards and not from the beginning 🤔 I would have liked to have had chapters from Jasce's pov (I hope in the next books 🤞🏻) and the ending it seemed a bit rushed even though the plot twist entices one to continue the series ☺️
tropes: Slow burn Enemies to lovers One bed One horse Forced proximity
*Spoilers*
I received this book as an arc and it exceeded my expectations! The books is about Jasce and Annora "Lyra", who are from rival houses. Annora is the granddaughter of the leader of house silver and Jasce is the son of the leader of house crimson. Annora wakes up after being sick and is in the body of Lyra, Jasce's wife. She is trying to figure out what happened to her, while trying to keep her identity a secret. I love Annora's relationship with Jasce and how easily accepts her when he discovers who she is. The book does end in a big cliffhanger that will leave you wanting more!
"Sometimes, shattering is how strength is forged."
Let me just say, Lianne Kay never disappoints! I knew this one would be a blast as well!! It was a page turner, with the FMC-Annora, waking up in another woman's body as the wife of Jasce, a man from a rival house. The tension between them was just soo *chef's kiss*.
The book was fast paced, but not so much that you won't understand what's going on. Though my only wish is that it was slightly more longer. Or maybe I'm just used to reading longggg books.
Anyways, I can't wait for the next one! It is obviously always hard to finish a book knowing the next one is not out yet. But the wait won't be long!
Thank you so much for giving me an opportunity to ARC read this book! ❤
This story is a little different from all the books I have read. It’s a war, enemies to lovers. It’s the first in it’s series. I can’t wait for the next. House of Crimson and House of Silver are at war with each other. Annora/Lyra wakes up in the bedchamber of Jasce, the heir of House of Crimson. She needs to figure out how to act. She’s trapped in another person body. Is she able to play the part of Jasce’s wife while trying to figure a way out? It’s a fast pace story with a lot of interesting parts. I love how Annora/Lyra has no idea that her innocence will be challenged when Jasce is around and her thoughts run free. The ending is what does it for me. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next. Thank you Lianne for them opportunity to read your book.
I liked this book but was stuck bewteen 3 or 4 stars. I liked the characters and the plot. The horror of being a reflection of someone else and not knowing if the person u love loves u or her. I liked their bantering. The mystery. A thing i did not like tho is how icky the ML can be at times. He feels almost forceful and pervy with her. That its just about sex and her body, a body that is not even hers. It seems like he just wants to sleep with her and literally gets mad when she won't. It doesn't feel like romance or chemistry. Their bantering and flirting felt like romance and chemistry though. Just not the physically intimate stuff
