It’s a good one. Genuinely. You should enjoy it. The novella is excellent for anyone that wants to read a high heat not so kinky erotica with some added plot. Well written. Intriguing. Give it a shot.


My notes for myself:
My issue is that whenever I read a book that calls itself kinky but really is just some reinvented form of 50 shades, I kind of get bored. Every time Adam asks lake her limits, and she says she doesn’t know I want to scream. Not because she may not know how hard she wants to be spanked… but she def has obvious limits (no water play, no scarification?, etc). In a place “where every dark fantasy comes true” I imagine a lot more of kink community would roll their eyes at a girl who gets spanked twice, immediately penetrated with no eye contact and then somehow comes within minutes when the dude hasn’t even touched her anywhere else. I dunno. Good for her I guess. I need this to be more believable.
Yes the viewing party was cool, but even then. It came up really short.

I was hoping the whole stalker vibes would be more obsessive but really he just wants to bang her out of his system? That doesn’t give obsession vibes. I dunno. He didn’t feel all too into her even.

While novellas aren't normally my thing this spicy holiday story clicked for me! Lakeyn is invited to a week of mystery and seduction hosted by a rich playboy with many secrets of his own. She goes pretending to be her sister that the invitation was addressed to, when she meets the swoony Adam. Adam is keeping things close to the chest but has a reason for inviting Lakeyn.

This book was plenty spicy while still including a plot. I loved Adam's worship of Lakeyn. He felt so genuinely enamored with her and catering to her needs. Lakeyn is healing from a bad breakup and I love her bravery in showing up and taking a leap of faith. This author has become a must read for me and this short story was well written and took me on an escape with Lakeyn.

🔥I’m a woman with very specific taste in her. . .books 😏 and as I devoured ‘Reckless Games’ from the front cover to the back I thought, good lord Eva 🥵, I’m surprised my iPad didn’t burst into flames. This book was beyond that normal, steamy, hotness from other romance stories, this one could singe the hair from your head. Billionaire romance books are going up in flames everywhere due the adult content within the pages of this book.

🔥Billionaire, Adam Kingsley opens the doors to the Midnight Manor every Christmas Day. Opening only for the rich and elite to take part in their deepest fantasies. Only those with an invitation get to enter onto the property and once you’ve accepted and entered the manor on Christmas, you don’t leave until midnight New Year’s Eve. When Lakeyn thinks a mistaken invite supposed to be for her twin sister arrives on her doorstep she gives into temptation and shows up to the manor Christmas Day. What she doesn’t realize is that once she crosses that threshold she will never be the same person once the clock strikes midnight New Year’s Eve and Mr. Kingsley is prepared to make sure she isn’t either.

🔥A hot and extremely spicy standalone holiday, billionaire romance you won’t want to put down (my opinion). So grab a copy for your own on Thursday, November 16th, but beware Reckless Games is intended for people 18 and over due to mature content and explicit scenes.

Read this if you want to read a short Christmas sex party novella.

The FMC Lakeyn gets an invitation to a mystery party thinking it was meant for her twin sister (Ivy). Ivy encourages Lakeyn to go to this party pretending to be ivy, to get out of her comfort zone and do something crazy during the holiday break.

Once arriving at the gigantic mansion, she meets the handsome host and they instantly “click”. He has a lot of kinks and isn’t afraid to show them. After all, it is a sex party. And not just for an evening, no, for an entire week!

They have each other until New Years, then the fun is over. But will it be over after that? 👀

This was a fun and spicy Christmas novella, but nothing special. I think there could’ve been more spice and less obsessing over. Also, the word BABY GIRL gives me the ick thanks to the movie 365 days lol. He called her “baby girl” in almost every sentence and that annoyed me. But overal it was a fun and quick read. Definitely enjoyed it. The plot wasn’t major, book is kind of unrealistic but it’s still very fun and good for getting out of a reading slump :)

Holy hot everything!!!! This is a quick and spicy holiday novella that you're not gonna wanna miss!

Midnight Manor is an infamous but secretive invite only event that takes place each year from Christmas day to New Years. When Lake finds an invitation addressed to her twin sister Ivy, she can't help but see it as an opportunity and finds herself drawn and curious to what really happens during that week at Midnight Manor. Once there, Lake never could have anticipated being completely consumed by the elusive man that runs the event himself, Adam.

I LOVED this novella!! It's fun, sexy, mysterious, and completely captivates you! I loved how obsessed Adam was with Lake and how free, safe and accepted Lake felt with Adam. I sometimes struggle with novellas only because I always want more and I definitely want MORE of Adam and Lake!! I'm hoping to see them again in the future! 👀

This was a short and spicy read. I thought it had the perfect amount of plot mixed in with the overall spicy theme of the story. I, however, wished this story was longer! I need more Lake and Adam!

This is only my second Eva Simmons book but I absolutely love her writing style and can’t wait for her next release!

This was a great novella and I enjoyed it as usual when it comes to anything written by Eva. I loved Adam and Lakeyn and getting to see both of them relinquish control a little. A short and spicy Christmas read perfect for the holiday season and it's definitely still enjoyable all year round! I'm excited for Cillian's book now! But onto Cold Hard Truths I go! 🎉🎉🎉

Being in my novella era has been SO MUCH FUN. I love a lil sprinkle of spice in between some darker/ more serious books and this one HIT JUST RIGHTTTTT

Lakeyn gets accidentally invited to a mysterious event held by a billionaire that promises a week of debauchery and unleashing your inner desires with the privacy of doing so at a secluded manor with no phones or identities revealed. As she arrives playing the part of her much more outgoing twin sister, she immediately crosses paths with the host of the party, the elusive Adam. Pretending to be her sister is one thing but allowing the loss of control that comes with accepting Adam’s invitation? Show time baby.

Adam, on the other hand, uses these events as a way to get ahead. He is the definition of a morally gray business man and has never been tempted by anything or anyone, until Lake. As truths are revealed, the light shines bright on not only Lake but Adam as well. They will both have to give a little to get a lot with each other.

The spice in this book started early and kept on trucking throughout which is exactly what I was looking for. The chemistry between Lake and Adam was not only believable but hot af. I was obsessed with this dark brooding man who finally allowed someone to break down his walls. And Lake handing over control to finally feel free? Chefs kiss.

Can’t wait to continue on this series. I was immediately interested in Cillian and seeing he’s book two??? Immediately downloaded.

Did I just rate another Eva Simmons book a 5 star? Yes, yes I did! That's 3 for 3. Eva's books are my own personal drug.

How can someone write such filth but write it with so much beauty and passion?

Anyone who knows me, knows my relationship with novellas. I've never given one more than a 3 star rating. I knew if anyone could make me love a novella it would be Eva. Her writing just captivates me from the very first page.

I had a blast reading this.
If you are in the mood for a short and steamy holiday novella then this is the one for you.

Holy wow. When this was described as scorching hot, I thought I was prepared but this is next level HOT! Eva knows how to bring the heat, but what she also does really well is creating a scene, bringing to life incredible characters, the emotions and tensions between them and building a plot that keeps you engaged, making you feel like you’re right there with them.

This is a novella (less than 200 pages) and what Eva managed to build and pack into this was a work of art 👌

A perfect holiday novella and I flew through this in one afternoon. I absolutely adore Eva’s writing and the stories she creates.

Adam and Lakes chemistry was absolutely amazing. This was unique for sure and I could absolutely read a full length book about their relationship.

Without spoiling anything I loved the hidden identity aspect and the friendships gained throughout. While this was short it didn’t feel like I was missing any backstory and it didn’t feel rushed.

Lakeyn is invited as what she think is a mistake, lured in by the event’s producer Adam Kingsley. What happens when Lakeyn relinquishes her control to dark and handsome Adam?

Lord have mercy I wish this novella had been twice as long. I finished it in one sitting and couldn’t put it down. Adam and Lake’s chemistry is off the charts. The spice is *chef’s kiss* and the plot line was great as always. Hoping this can tide me over until Eva’s next release. 😩

The doors of Midnight Manor open on Christmas Eve, and they’re locked until the clock strikes midnight New Years Eve. Which leaves plenty of time for all sorts of things to unravel in those 7 days, especially when you don’t know what to expect. Everything surrounding this is very hush hush, and so is the gracious host. But for the first time, Adam comes out of the shadows, incapable of ignoring Lakeyn’s light. It’s her innocence that brings her to him. Her need to live, to explore outside the box she’s placed herself in. And Adam definitely helps her do all those things, and so much more! Power and control oozes from that man. While he’s part of a very successful family business, he’s got his hands in some dirty pots. Which only makes him more yummy! Admiring Lake for exactly who she is makes him vulnerable in more ways than one. She becomes the exception to every rule. Adam Kingsley isn’t a knight in shining armor, but he’s hers. And when he plays with guns…well, it made me giddy! This perfect novella also made me even more excited to devour Adam’s brother Crew’s book (Heart Sick Hate)!!!!

This is a spicy holiday novella and I couldn’t put it down once I started it.

This story follow Lake, who receives an invitation to an infamous holiday party at Midnight Manor, a party for the rich and elite to indulge is their wildest fantasies. She thinks it for her sister but is it. She’s in need of an escape and what more perfect than the Midnight Manor. What she wasn’t expecting was to catch the eye of the billionaire host, Adam Kingsley. So what happens when she give up control and until temptation with this Ruthless man?
Their chemistry & attraction was off the charts from the moment they official met and it just become more intense the during the week they spend during the party. Lake and Adam definitely didn’t disappoint in the spicy department,🥵. This man obsession with Lake was everything, they way he takes care of her needs and worships her but he’s not the only one with and obsession, she just as enamored with him as he is with her. This a short spicy read with a good plot mix in, and I didn’t want it to end, I wished it was longer. But overall it was a great read, I enjoyed the characters and the ending. I can’t wait for the next one.

This is a quick, forbidden romance with lots of spicy moments.

Since I started reading books by Eva Simmons earlier this year I have not been disappointed. I find them interesting with lots of emotional content along side spicy moments. I always feel connected to the characters and am invested with their journey to a HEA.

I would love more of this story and could easy read a duet of these characters digging into events after this book ended.

I highly recommend reading if you enjoy quick, spicy reads with morally gray mmc’s that will do anything to get the fmc.

Lakeyn was be sad since her break up with her boyfriend of four years, but it was more than that. She’s a little tired of her safe life where she knows everyone and she never colors outside the lines. This comes to a screeching halt when she receives an invitation to a holiday get away. Well the invitation seems to be for her twin sister who’s the wild child. When Lakeyn meets Adam it’s fireworks. This short story is hot, sexy and a little kinky. They both test the limits of their dark side. It’s a good ride, with a good ending. I’m giving this story four stars and recommend it.

Reckless Game is a scorching hot holiday romance. The Midnight Manor only opens its doors on Christmas Day and you only get in with an invite.
Lakeyn accidentally gets the invite instead of her sister. And even though she knows this is not her style, she could use a break and she takes the invite. And Adam will make sure she is taken care off.
Reckless Game is just a novella, but the spicelevel is high and the story will keep you entranced till the end of the book.

Adam lives in a dark world, so he knows this holiday week with Lake will be all he can give her. So he's going to spend every minute exploring everything they want. He'll take her beyond her previous experiences, wring every drop of this that he can. Then after the week, he'll send her away, never to see her again...



This is probably the most delicious, carnal holiday story I have ever read, and I LOVE it!! Adam and Lake's chemistry oozed out of every pore, and I was hurting for them both thinking they'd only get a week of this amazing connection they had formed in such a short time. I don't know if there's more to come for them, but I sure hope so.

Reckless games is an accurate name for this spicy holiday novella. Lake is normally living a quiet, normal life in a small town, but this holiday she was invited to a week of debauchery by billionaire Adam Kingsley. She uses this week to be reckless and explore her own kinks with Adam’s help. I really enjoyed the story, the plot, the development of the relationship and the explosive chemistry and spice.

I didn’t fall for a prince; I fell for a ruthless man. And I wouldn’t want him any other way.

Adam is a morally grey billionaire, but he knows he wants Lake above all else, he is just not sure if he is good enough for her and can keep her safe. Lake is slowly opening up and start living life instead of being responsible and always in control. They are very good together, and complement each other very well.

Even though, this is a novella, there is a lot of character growth, and we actually get to know them very well - their pasts, their insecurities, their dreams of the future. Along with all the kink exploring, there is also an underlining plot regarding Adam’s business, that added some mystery to the story. It also made it clear what kind of man Adam really is - protective, possessive, not afraid to get his hands dirty.

“You still haven’t reached it. What’s yours, Adam?”
“You are.”

Seeing the contrast from business Adam and the person he is around Lake was very nice. He would really do anything for her, but he also challenged her, just like she needed! The spice was sooo hot and very explorative, at the same time it added depth to the story and helped them grow closer together. It was clear from the beginning that they have an amazing chemistry, but they also have respect and an understanding of each other.

All in all, this is a quick, spicy novella with an amazing couple, sizzling chemistry and a natural development even in the span of only a week. I highly recommend this book.

Review: An ultra-spicy, holiday romance that is full of mystery, lust and love. Lakeyn and Adam are a couple full of steam and deviant tendencies. Eva writes the perfect darkly seductive romance that will put you in the holiday spirit and wish for an invitation into the world of the elite!
 
Lakeyn was the perfect shy and introverted FMC for Adam and I enjoyed how she broke out of her shell. The book takes place during a multi day holiday masquerade ball and the masks add a level of security for her since she is certain she was invited by mistake. Eva created her character really well for how short the book was and I found myself enjoying the path she takes with Adam as she finds herself.
 
Adam was a shock to me. I was not expecting how dominant he would be in everything and I found myself wanting to unravel all his secrets. Eva did a great job with keeping his mystery up throughout the book and even at the end I found myself wanting to know more about him. His obsession over Lakeyn was dark and deviant from the get-go and it was interesting how far he went to get her at his ball. I loved how Lakeyn brought out his soft and gooey center even when he was still cold hearted on the outside. I cannot wait to get his brother’s book to continue learning his secrets.
 
Lakeyn and Adam are HAWT. This is a very spicy novella and it is super-fast burn. Adam is a dominant alpha and has a mouth that would make a grandma blush and when paired with Lakeyn’s innocence it makes for a deadly combination. They have an intense push and pull relationship and I am sad that this is all we see of them!

Lakeyn controls everything in her life carefully some like her twin sister would say her life is boring but she craves the structure and planning. What she didn't plan for was an invitation for her sister arriving on her doorstep to a weeklong holiday party at the Midnight Manor. After her sister convinces Lakeyn to take her place and live a little at the mysterious exclusive party, she feels hesitant but knows she needs to find a way to get over her ex and let go of some control. Adam throws the same notorious party every year for him it's a chance to get rich men and women to let down their guards so he can use them to better his father's and his businesses. He is not a good man and thrives in having complete control over every situation he is in. At the opening night masquerade party Lakeyn is nervous and overwhelmed at what she sees trying to maintain her cover as Ivy. Almost literally running into Adam is jarring for her in all ways setting her world off kilter more than she knows. She tries to swallow down the fact that this intriguing, but intimidating man thinks she is her sister while slightly letting go of the leash on her controlled world. Agreeing to one night with him is more than she bargained for yet everything she never knew needed. Adam thought he knew what he was getting into with her only she is more addicting than he anticipated. Their story is a whirlwind but so good and keeps you devouring it from start to finish. I wanted to know more about the eldest Kingsley brother when I met him in Crew's book, and he was perfect. This book is short and dirty just perfection. I loved all the characters even if the almost insta love is not my thing it worked in this book. Would recommend for anybody who needed to know more about Adam.

Another smutty Christmas read in the books, lol. But it was so much more than that. I absolutely loved this book and again love Eva's writing.

Lake is a homebody. She lives in a small town and keeps to herself, and she is content with that. Far different than her identical twin sister Ivy. Lake gets an anonymous invite on her doorstep for a holiday getaway for a week. A very exclusive invite only stay in a mansion where no repeat invites are ever given. Unfortunately, the invite is for her sister Ivy but sent to her address by mistake.

Fast forward, Ivy convinces Lake to stop being a hermit and live a little. Cause apparently whatever happens at the mansion stays at the mansion. So she is going to pretend to be her sister. A week long holiday in a billionaires mansion? Yes, please.

Adam is the owner and host of the holiday getaway. A billionaire in a suit that rarely makes an appearance at his own parties. But he notices Lake aka Ivy right away. Drawn to her immediately. She wants to be her sister so bad in this moment, but maybe she just needs to let go of the control, stop thinking, and enjoy. 😉 Maybe Adam already sees her for who she truly is....

Loooooved these two. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
