This one, is just not as good as the others I've read. More like a filler for Locke, to carry us over into next novel. But, Locke publishes often, so we'll see. Continuing with my pursuit of the lone Hero (see reviews for Joe Pike novels, John Rain novels, Jonathan Quinn and Jack Reacher novels) Donovan Creed is probably the most unique character I came across.

I'd never heard of John Locke until I received my Kindle DX in the mail. Locke made his fame and fortune self-publishing his books in the Kindle world. For the Kindle, his books are ridiculously inexpensive (around $0.99 to $1.99). I was surprised at what I read and hooked from the start. Unlike my other series books, however, there is a difference in the books in terms of ratings...so I have not given them the standard 4 or 5 star ratings across the entire series.

First of all, the books are short but packing a powerful punch, a mixture of excellent humor (left me laughing at the insanity of what I was reading) and the grim reality of a hero who kills people. Lethal people introduces us to Creed, the business he is in, his side-kicks and his insane relationship within his own world and certainly the world most of us live in (let's just say Creed is not fit to live a normal life and does not understand it). Get ready for a roller coaster ride and, above all...enjoy! You will find that towards the end of each book you will be filled with disappointment that the ride is over...and almost certainly you will hunt down the next Donovan Creed thriller.

Another fast-paced caper by John Locke. I loved how he managed to bring in the majority of characters from all of the other series (even the dead characters!). This one was a little more sexually graphic than the others and I don't think it really added anything to the story or the series, but that's just my opinion. My other minor complaint is the end with Callie. I would have liked for Creed and Callie to have gone through a longer period of problems to see how Creed would react. Would he stay with Callie or would something pull him away (his child, maybe)? Still, I love all of these books and snatch them up and read them within hours. Thanks!

Callie's Last Dance will be a welcome progression in the Donovan Creed series, and will thrill Locke's OOU's due to the way it ties into his most recent forays; there is connective tissue between this novel and Bad Doctor, as well as his Dani Ripper series, and finally even some references to Emmett Love. And for those waiting for the unspoken love shared by Donovan Creed and Callie, this novel finally pushes that plot element forward a bit.

Unfortunately, Locke has quickly become an habitual series writer, weaving in elements for future installments that, sadly, don't offer much of a payoff in these pages. Supporting cast members like Maybe Taylor and others, who featured prominently in the last installment, Maybe, are given short shrift this time out even as Locke positions them for bigger roles in upcoming installments.

All this acknowledged, the main action of this novel is engaging, even if only for long-term Locke OOUs. And there are plenty of them.

Another supremely fast-paced thriller starring John Locke's usual cast of misfit assassins. Creed and Callie start to realize the depths of their feelings for each other, but some genuinely shocking twists and turns keep the heavily weaponized lovebirds apart. Undoubtedly the most erotic of the Creed novels, which will help or hinder the reader's enjoyment, depending on his or her preferences. Many threads from the previous novels pay off in unexpected ways in this latest entry, and several characters from the other novels in the Locke-verse return for extended cameos. The cliff-hanger ending is superb, and ensures Creed #11 will be a Day One purchase for me. (As if it wouldn't be already.) Not quite the best in the series, but a strong, breezy book that won't disappoint my fellow Locke fans.

I say this about all of John Locke's Donovan Creed books, but this last one is my favorite! There is no one else who can weave the characters' lives and intertwine them the way Locke does. It is brain candy for all of us Creed lovers and once again we got our fix in a big way! What a treat to have our favorite characters(old ones and from his different series even) come together to create this fantastic sequel. Again, there is murder, torture, humor, sex and plot twists and turns that I never saw coming--I still can't wrap my mind around some of the things that are going on. I can't wait to see what will happen next, because with John Locke, there is no telling where his genius, story-telling mind will take us. I just know that I will always be ready for the next wild and crazy Donovan Creed ride! Thanks again, John!

A brilliant next installment to the Donavan Creek novels...

When Donavan and Callie realise that they mean more to each other than just work partners... they have to work out whether it is safe for them to act on their love in their line of work or are they doomed from the start?

... so when disaster strikes, by accident, Donavan moves heaven and earth to put things right and enlists the help of many other characters from John Locke's other books in doing so... as well as choosing whether he should be the next Darwin.

I love this, the humour and the twists and turns are brilliant. I am a little dissapointed the death of one of the main characters is done so almost in passing but apart from a great read.

If you've read even a few of John Locke's books, and whether you're a man or a woman, you have fallen in love with the character of Callie Carpenter. She is one amazing woman - as is her partner Donovan Creed. Callie's Last Dance, like Locke's other Donovan Creed books, is loaded with plenty of action and funny one-liners. If you thought Woody Allen was great at coming up with funny one-liners wait until you read any of John Locke's books. You will find yourself laughing down one page while you cringe with horror two lines later. Great story-lines and amazing characters. It's a tough combination to beat!

Judging by it's title, I was a little afraid of what was going to happen. This book ties in all John's characters. Can't believe how this man's mind works. I have every series to date - 'Emmett Love' 1-3 (read),'Donovan Creed' 1-10(read), 'Dani Ripper' 1-2, and 'Dr Gideon Box' 1-2. They span 300 years, with one amazing character threading her way through them all. When I finished this book, I had a hard time deciding whether to follow on with Gideon Box, or Dani Ripper. I can honestly say in my 60 years, I've never read, or so very much enjoyed reading, anyone like John Locke. BTW ... went with Box.

I can't wait for he next installment hope it does not take too long John. Thanks aging for great fun read.

Could I ever rate a John Locke book less than 5 stars? The answer is no, probably not...

I loved this book. I loved how characters from his other series are in this book. I love how characters from eons ago are in this book. I love how (SPOILER) I thought Callie was somehow gonna die the entire book yet she didn't. I love how I now want to read even more!

Write more, faster, John Locke, please!

I thought that this series might have run out of steam but no! This one is just as good, John always leaves you guessing and you want to know more. The characters you do not want to like, they really are not your avarage joe and there are a lot of violent scenes which I certainly do not want to see but can skip over in my imagination. At the heart of it it is a story of a man's life, however strange and unusual. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

This is going to be a very short review. I love John Locke and i love the Donovan Creed series but as I read every Locke novel I realize that these are not novels you can pick up willy-Nilly. You have to start with the first one and go from there. Every character created by John Locke appear in every novel. From Emmett Love to Gideon Box to Dani Ropper. They're all related and that's what makes this fun. You can feel smart by spotting references and characters from all the series.

This series just gets better and better with every book. If you like, murder, suspense, flirtation, sarcasm, and wit these are for you. There are no words. Just read it.

I am absolutely enthralled by the way Locke has tied all of these books together. There are technically 4 separate series but in one way or another they all tie together. It's amazing and I can not get enough of it.

Sex, Humor, Torture, and Romance...what more could you ask for in a book? I've read at least 10 of JL's books in the last two years and each leaves me with a smile and a hankerin' for more. Not to spoil, but this book holds a perfect tie into John's other characters, bringing the whole family together. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Satisfying ending to a long series of fast paced, clever, entertaining, somewhat salacious spy novels. Hard to give the series more than 3 stars as each installment is pretty short, not a lot of character development or analysis, but always may quirky plot twists that frequently made me laugh out loud or at least chuckle.

Another great one. John Lockes books always manage to grip you and leave you wanting more. This is my second time reading through the Donovan Creed series and still enjoying it just as much as the first time, the reminder of characters from John Lockes other series have made me want to re-read those too.

Another great addition to the Donovan Creed series. Incredibly entertaining, as usual. I particularly enjoyed the tie-ins and character appearances from the author's other stories. Reminds me odf Elmore Leanord's work, in a way. Good stuff, quick and enjoyable read.

In the past I've loved the Creed books but this book was disappointing to me. It started off fine and I was enjoying the banter Creed has with people...then about half way through it changed for me and by the end if the book I just wanted it to be over.

Not too good

Not too good

I expected an action packed mystery with many twists and turns with our hero getting out of many tight spots. Instead I'm reading about bisexual encounters with a few people getting whacked. This was a disappointing book.

I bought on kindle years ago and never got around to reading.
An okay read that did what you expect this series to do tbh - probably won’t continue onto the remaining 5 titles, this one felt like the end of the series for me.
