In 1870, Mariah Stover is left for dead and with no memory when the Deadeye Gang robs the stagecoach she's on, killing her father and brother. As she takes over her father's blacksmith business and attempts to move forward, the old-fashioned townspeople meet her new occupation with disdain.

Handsome and polished Clint Roberts escaped to Western Wyoming from the painful memories he left back east. In the hope of a new life, he opens a diner where he creates fine dishes, but is met with a harsh welcome from the townsfolk who prefer to stick to their old ways.

Clint and Mariah are drawn together by the similar trials they face in a new town, and Clint is determined to protect Mariah at all costs when danger descends upon her home. As threats pursue them from every side, will they survive to build a life forged in love?

Ya'll, what a SURPRISE! I really enjoyed this book! Such an engaging, "keep you on your toes" plot and a very precious and sweet romance. I don't read a lot of Western settings but I am starting to really come to LOVE them! I listened to the audio and felt like the narrator has a great "western historical fiction" voice so that is probably another reason I really liked it! The book is fast paced in the plot but also has several beautiful chapters of Clint and Mariah together that I LOVED. I also laughed out loud at several points throughout the story and LOVED the loyal dog friend.

Set in 1870, Mariah Stover is left for dead with no memory when the Deadeye Gang robs the stagecoach she's on, killing her father and brother. Clint Roberts and others rush to check out the scene when their horses chaoticlly show back up into town. Clint has had an interest on Mariah for 2 years since he got to town so when he sees Mariah hurt, he makes sure to get her back to town for healing. The leaders of the town want to keep Mariah hidden in secret and sent away to hide from the Deadeye Gang but she is a strong woman so she isn't about to leave her town or her father's blacksmitthing business she works in. Since she doesn't remember anything from the attack by the gang, they decide to let her stick around in town and stick to the story of she doesn't remember what happened - hoping the Deadeye Gang doesn't come back looking for her as they never leave any surviving witnesses.....but things start happening to Mariah that make everything think someone is after her.....and Clint will do anything to protect the woman he loves.

Overall, such a great start to this series. I really liked the characters and how Mariah was a strong woman in the blacksmithing business - with Clint being all into cooking and his restaurant. There was some emphasis that appear as "feminism" in the story, but I didn't feel like it was too much. It makes sense for the time period and our character is such a strong willed woman who is making her way after losing her father and brother, so to me, it was understandable.

Some reviews have mentioned they didn't like the open-door fade to black romance in this, but there really wasn't anything I saw that was bad. They were a married couple and it was not detailed in any way to me. I wouldn't even really call it "open" door in my opinion. I actually loved seeing how they were very open and honest in their marriage and talked through how to handle things in an respectable way as a newly married couple. They were just a very refreshing couple to see.

Excited for book 2 that comes out soon! Grabbed it on NetGalley because I really want to read Nell's story as she was one of my favorite side characters.

1870 Pine Valley, Wyoming

I loved both main characters in this start of the Wyoming Sunrise Series. Mariah is a rare female blacksmith having learned at the hands of her father. After a stagecoach robbery leaves her near death, she reevaluates what's important. Restaurant owner Clint has been in love with her for two years and Mariah has no idea.

This novel didn't have Connealy's trademark humor, however, the tale was engaging and kept my interest from beginning to end.

Good women's suffrage history included in the pages. I look forward to continuing the series and learning more about Mariah's best friends Nell and Becky. All three support themselves through their occupations.

My gratitude to publisher Bethany House and CelebrateLit for a complimentary NetGalley copy of the novel. I was not required to post a review and all opinions expressed are my own.

Ah… a really enjoyable, cowboy romance set an 1870s Wyoming. I love how the author made the heroine a blacksmith and the hero a gourmet cook, turning these stereotypes on their heads. The characters are wonderful, and I can’t wait to read Nell and Betsy’s stories.

I saw the third book in the series up on Netgalley, it caught my eye and I decided to give the first two books a try before that one comes out. This is also my first Mary Connealy book, and I'm planning on reading at least one more series after I finish this one.

So, here we have a female blacksmith and a male cook in the Wild West. The role reversal works really well, and I think the feminism included did fit in with the times. Especially Mariah fighting for herself/her career after losing her family.

The beginning was really interesting and pretty fast paced, the middle slowed down a bit while Mariah was recovering, and then the ending picked up again.

I liked both Mariah and Clint as characters, and I liked Mariah's friends too. The romance developed too fast for me, but I still enjoyed it.

The audiobook narrator was excellent, I think she has a good voice for these types of reads (and her last name reminded me of a fictional family from another western book). I'll listen to the other two books as audios too, I hope she'll be narrating them as well.

3.5⭐I'm not sure how I feel about this story, Christian western historical romance, action-packed-stage coach robberies, snake bites, kidnapping, and murder. The plot was interesting, however, the characters were not and left a little bit to be desired. bit annoying and immature at times. I love a strong and independent heroine, but the emphasis on feminism, I think it was unnecessary, especially at that time.

I received a complimentary copy of the book without obligation. This review is my opinion.

Western has never been my favorite genre so when a book that type catches my eye I know I need to go for it!

The title, description and cover all caught my eye from this second I saw it and I am so glad I gave in to this book. It was well written. I loved the readability of this one while still immersing me in a reforming wild west territory. The setting was picturesque and well described. I felt like I was in their valley living right alongside them! The time period was intriguing as women's rights were taking off in Wyoming and spurring the female characters to forge their own way...see what I did there :)

I was immediately immersed in this book. The first line, the first paragraph had me asking questions and wanting to know more (I LOVE WHEN THAT HAPPENS!). It was emotionally moving, added elements of mystery and suspense with a super sweet love story intertwined.

I loved the suspense this book offered. The villain is quite possibly one of the creepiest I've read about. I loved the town that rallied around our main characters in hope and protection. I am really crossing my fingers that this is the beginning of a series because I'd love to get more from some of these characters.

If there is a book 2 I will definitely want to get myself a copy to see what happens next!

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the copy. All thoughts in this review are my own.

Content: wild west violence (stagecoach robberies/murders), implied consummation of a married man and woman, and loss/grief of family members.

Western Historical Fiction is such a great change of pace in my reads, and Forged in Love was a great choice. It's quick, fun and light.

I have always loved westerns but haven't read much in the genre. This played out well in my head while reading which is a huge plus for me. I love the interaction between Mariah and Clint as well as her friendship with Nell and Becky. Almost makes me want to go back to that time period .. almost 😂

I was actually surprised how fast I got into this one and finished it. Such an enjoyable way to spend a few hours. I sincerely appreciate the publisher and NetGalley for the review copy. All opinions expressed are my own.

1 stars for this book after I used a bit of white out.

This book had some good quotes and interesting elements but, unfortunately, was not a closed-door romance.

Things I liked about this story:

-A capable female blacksmith who learned the trade from her father and brother
-Funny side characters
-A female leatherworker who enjoys making dresses for the other ladies (and herself) in town
-A loyal dog with fierce protective instincts
-The western small town setting

Things I didn't like:

-The open door, fade-to-black romance in this book, and the two intimate bedroom scenes (yes, the couple was married, but no, I don't want to read about it! It's so awkward and inappropriate to be in a book even if it isn't super detailed). This took this book down to 3 stars after using a bit of white-out.

-Feministic ideology thrown in that doesn't fit the story at all and is just distracting and unnecessary, I think.

I received a complimentary paperback from the publisher through Interviews & Reviews. I also received a complimentary e-book from Netgalley for my review. I was not required to write a positive review, and the thoughts and sincerely held religious beliefs above are my own.

A story featuring a female blacksmith? Yes please! I was very excited when I realized Mariah was going to be taking over the family business, although the circumstances were sorrowful. Her work was well played throughout the story, and this truly was the highlight for me.

I liked that there was an amnesia angle. That is a favorite trope of mine, and I love seeing how different authors handle it. This tale was a superb example of the amnesia trope done right. I couldn’t get enough of that angle.

The plot was solid with an entertaining journey for the leading characters. The plot twists and challenges were superb. Nearly everything about this book was top notch.

The one disappointment for me was that sheltering women from coarse language was shown to be a negative thing. The lack of respect of using coarse language in front of women and children is a key reason why such atrocious words are so prevalent today. I personally take my instruction on this topic directly from Ephesians 4:29 (HCSB), which says, in part, “No foul language is to come from your mouth.” Because of that verse, I hold the opinion that every human should be shielded from all foul language—not just the women and children.

A new series by Mary Connealy? You can count on me being on board.
I was drawn into this book from the first exciting scene: Mariah is the lone survivor of a stage coach attack, pinned under the conveyance and left for dead. The Dead-eye gang leaves no witnesses, even women. But when they find out she lives, she is in constant danger. That brings out the protective instincts in diner owner, Clint, who has been interested in Mariah since he moved to Pine Valley to homestead. He frantically searches for her when the horses, but not the stagecoach, charge into town.
I like the setting, in the shadow of the mountains, in a community where folks look out for one another. Mariah is one of the few females but has two close friends in Nel and Becky.
Things are turned on end when the gang strikes. Pine Valley is no longer a quiet little town. Mariah is an independent woman blacksmith in one of the first territories to recognize women’s suffrage. But will she be able to to continue if she marries?
Lots of threats and tricky villains to combat. Add in a patient hero, feisty heroine, amusing banter, spiritual growth and you have the perfect old west story. Ms. Connealy is a favorite author who I will turn to again and again.

I would like to thank my friend Michelle for lending me a copy of this book to review! This is a genre I don’t normally delve into, however I really enjoyed reading this book! I love the characters so much and I enjoyed the romance and the plot and all of the side characters as well and the suspense and all the food that was mentioned and the Christian elements as well. However, I didn’t enjoy the cruelty to animals and how w never found out who the main bad guy was and I understand that will be explained in the other books in the trilogy.

A female blacksmith? A male gourmet chef? A guard dog named Brutus? A gang of stagecoach robbers who never leave a witness alive? Women’s rights? Plus swoony romance and delightfully dry humor? Well, of course… this is a Mary Connealy story, after all!

Mariah and Clint may be prime examples of successful role reversal in fiction, but they are also charming characters outside of their chosen careers. Right from the beginning, you’ll be rooting for Mariah to survive, for Clint to declare his feelings, and for them to live happily ever after. There are, of course, some obstacles to all of those things, and Connealy handles them with witty aplomb, revealing deeper layers to these two protagonists in the process as well as setting the stage for future books. The star of Forged in Love for me, though, is Brutus – the ‘on loan’ guard dog who proves himself a hero as well as an old softie more than once. I loved the way the author captured his personality and made this sweet-and-ferocious beast almost human while still being very much a dog.

Bottom Line: Forged in Love by Mary Connealy made me grin and swoon and grin some more as Mariah & Clint’s story came alive on the pages of this western romance. The author’s trademark dry humor drew several chuckles from me (particularly when it came to Mariah’s puzzlement over all the fancy names Clint gave his food … sauce from Holland, cocoa chicken, and more LOL), and the sweet romance is *chef’s kiss*. I’m also intrigued by Mariah’s best friends & I look forward to reading their stories as the series progresses.

2.5 ⭐️

I could not be more frustrated with the editor of this book. Was there an editor? Or even a few beta readers? Did NO ONE realize the repeated phrases, topics, etc that literally felt like a copy and paste? Like, WE GET IT. Clint’s food is weird but tasty. Soooo tasty. And that Coq au Vin doesn’t have chocolate in it. We get that the doctors tea recommendation is gross. We get it that Key likes to touch things. And so on and so on. (*mentioning the minor things to not really spoil anything but it’s there*) The POV switching also was confusing. The poisonous snake 🙄 it’s venomous. Please refer to this tweet from the OK Dept of Wildlife for your own education purposes: https://x.com/okwildlifedept/status/1...

😂😂

Back to being serious…

It’s like the book was edited in chapters and not as a collective whole.

It also felt juvenile in many ways. It’s not YA, and I’m not saying it’s because there’s a lack of spice (because that’s not of the time)…but the women felt very simple and that their interactions with each other weren’t deep. It’s like they kept saying over and over how strong the women were but I didn’t really believe it. Show not tell!

I could go on, but I’ll add this last thing as someone who went the audiobook route. I didn’t think the narrator’s voice fit, which is very mature and lovely, but not a good match with this story.

I think Connealy needs a new editor. If these issues weren’t present, I think the story would have gone over much better.

I'm always taken back to the vibe of my dad's old Louis L'Amour books when I start a new Western series by Mary Connealy. Granted, I enjoy that her heroines play a more central role and romance is a key component, but the setting, adventure, suspense, dry humor, and strong characters full of grit make these books impossible to resist. I love that Mariah keeps running her father's blacksmith shop, and Clint is a gourmet chef bringing flavor to the small town. There is some unrequited love, some forced proximity, and plenty of intrigue as they try to protect themselves against unknown villains. Not all answers are found, which continues part of the plot throughout the series, connecting the books.

I am honestly not sure how I felt about this book. I have enjoyed Mary Connealy’s other books but this one was just not for me. Forged in Fire is the first book in Mary Connealy’s new series, Wyoming Sunrise.
So first of all, the story was really interesting. I was invested in finding out what would happen to Mariah after being left for dead with no memory by the Deadeye Gang. The Deadeye Gang don’t leave survivors so Mariah was lucky that she had no memory, but she was also trying to remember what happened. I was on the edge of my seat as things kept happening to Mariah that should have killed her. The plot was thrilling and kept me interested.
However the characters left a bit to be desired. Mariah was kind of wishy washy to me and I did not really connect with her. I understand that she went through a lot but honestly she was a bit annoying. Clint was a little better but he felt immature to me at times. He had been in love with Mariah for a bit but the romance felt a little rushed. However they were sweet together and they kind of grew on me.
I am a very character driven reader so when I don’t like the characters it is kind of hard for me. But I will say that I still want to read the other books in the series. I am hoping that the characters get better. I would still recommend Forged in Love if you enjoy plot driven books and if you liked her other books. Forged in Love is a clean western romance.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the publisher through Netgalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, a positive review was not required.

I am really disappointed that I did not like this book, this author has been on my radar for a while and this is her recent release ..
The book talks about Mariah who is a daughter of a blacksmith, one day she was found under a carriage nearly dead with her father and brother shot to death, and what makes matters worse is that she doesn't remember anything about that day but she is the target of whoever killed her family to kill her too, then we meet Clint, he is the restaurant owner of the city, he likes to cook French cuisine to "refine everyone's palate", but Clint has been interested in Mariah for the last two years, and now that he almost lost he will do anything to prove his love and make Mariah his
the biggest reason why I didn't like the book is that false advertisement of the book, the summary said that the town's people didn't welcome Mariah or Clint, but in the book they were very welcoming and some of them risked their lives to save Mariah and help Clint to get his love .. it was a really nice town .. also I didn't like Mariah that much and the relationship between those two was so forced, it could've been anyone and they would have the same story ..
as I said I've been looking to read for this author .. I'm hoping that her earlier work will have more passion that this

I usually enjoy Mary Connealy’s stories and this one started out fine. I don’t know who edited this book but I would say refund the editing fee. The backstory for many of the main characters were repeated numerous times, once within a page or two of the previous one. It was like the author was one of my English students striving to get enough words for an assignment so she kept on repeating things to make it longer. I finally gave up at 60% completion and read the last few chapters. To be honest, I don’t think I missed any of the plot either.
I regret to say I would not recommend this book.

Forged in Love is the first book in the Wyoming Sunrise series by Mary Connealy and one that I instantly fell in love with. I don’t know whether it was the character’s that I loved, the excitement of Mariah Stover, who is left for dead after the rest of her family is slaughtered in a stagecoach robbery by the Deadeye Gang but, I think all readers are in for a treat with this read (as I was). Then, Clint Roberts, who owns the local diner (many in the West had never heard this term) and cooks all kinds of elegant dishes people love but don’t understand. Even Mariah. And Clint, when Mariah returns, having thought to be dead, overcome with the desire and love he has for her, vows to protect her at all costs.

The fact that Clint is far from the “typical” male you would find in the West, as some of the things he has learned in his travels before settling there, sets him apart, although keeps him a unique, desirable partner for the girl. Let’s just say that readers will find Mariah atypical too as the pair forge their love, she is the one who knows how to do the “literal” foraging. Even some of the food Clint makes for the diner, cocoa van is one that many keep mentioning, especially Mariah, as they cannot find anything sweet or chocolate, cocoa like, in it; the dishes he knows how to cook to perfection are far and above typical of the fare in the Wild West. And, as we get to know both of them, their unique qualities only unfold like a flower blooming together,

The difference in both the male and female main characters made this romance much more interesting than others as did the exciting, unknown, Wild West. While Clint exuded the “typical” male bravado, there were things that he lacked, in what he would need to know to protect a woman but, he never had fear in performing and learning to perform those duties, when the time came. It was a very honest story, even though it wasn’t told specifically from his perspective. And, while Mariah is very much a woman, has female friends, she has characteristics because of living with her father and brother, making her more of a tomboy than other women. However, this author does such a great job of riding the fine line of too much or too little to her characters, making these two absolutely perfect, when it comes to what they know; not too much of for their sex and what knowledge they lack (or should know for their sex). That they perfectly complete one another is no question, really, readers just keep hoping the pair realize it.

And Clint is really going to need those “male protective skills” because the Deadeye Gang has never left a victim living after a robbery. At first, the townspeople try to have Mariah presumed and buried, dead. But, that doesn't last for long and then strange people begin to appear in the town, until finally someone learns that Mariah isn’t dead, and passes that on to the Deadeye Gang. And, of course, they don’t want to leave her alive.

In the West, it seems, there is no sympathy for a woman, and that many of them were able to participate in activities normally men only were seen doing. For instance, after her father and brother die, Mariah takes up their work in the forge. And this nice appreciation by Connealy, with two characters who seem to share work and traits seen only in the other sex, at that period in time, helps readers come to the conclusion the the West was called wild for many reasons; even that men and women could do things outside of what was acceptable anywhere else in the world and no one really said bupkis about it.

If you are looking for a romance different from the ones you normally read, where men and women take on atypical roles in an atypical (and wild) environment, where all rules are thrown to the wind, and the only protection one finds from everything is the others around them who love them, pick up a copy of Connealy’s first book in the Wyoming Sunrise series called Forged In Love.

While romance isn’t my favorite genre, this book was. It was inventive, different, outside the box and never more real, providing me with one of the best romances I have read in a long, long time. I believe this romance will be a favorite of all who read it and I’ll be waiting impatiently to read the next in the series. Because to outdo this first one, Connealy is really going to have to be on her game. And, since she doesn't seem to disappoint, I am sure it will be just as superb if not better than Forged in Love.

Happy Wild West Romance Reading!

This book was a cute, fun, and easy read. 😊

I enjoyed Mariah and Clint together; Clint was so cute with his little crush on Mariah from the beginning!🥰 Their interactions were sweet and cute.

I loved the setting! Small western towns are one of my favorites and this one was great! I liked the townspeople too! Nell and Becky especially 🤗

The women’s suffrage stuff in the book did get a little annoying. It’s pretty light so it can be mostly ignored, but when women get on their soapbox about it, it can be annoying for me. There’s one part where Mariah thinks about training someone else and quit being the blacksmith and maybe getting married because it doesn’t really make her happy, but then turns around and says she has to keep it to prove it to her pa who’s passed away, and to the town and the world that a woman CAN be a blacksmith. And it’s never really brought up again that she’s not happy being the blacksmith.

There were a few other inconsistencies and plot holes in the book, but it didn’t bother me too much. The writing also was sometimes a little wordy which to me felt like the author was trying to up the page count, especially considering this book is only 293 pages long.

There is a villain pov in this book which I honestly could have done without. He was a very sick and twisted man and his chapters could be kind of disturbing to read😅 I skimmed most of his parts though because I also felt like they didn’t add anything to the story🤷🏼‍♀️

Content warnings: Mariah’s dad and brother are killed at the beginning of the book. The whole scene is kind of gruesome with the gang chasing and shooting at the coach. Everyone except Mariah dies, and it does mention the bodies riddled with bullets.
Grief because of her only family dying. Mentions of a whole family dying in a fire in the past. Talked about a few different times.
A dog is attacked by a human and injured pretty badly but does live.

Danger. Romance. Rescues. All the things I love in a western romance— and this book had it all and so much more! I really must ask myself why I haven’t picked up a Mary Connealy book in recent memory— I have been missing out! And it has some of my favorite storytelling styles of all time: a marriage of convenience, a hero who falls in love first, a good mystery, and some suspense added with parts written from the villain’s point of view. All ingredients in a recipe for an excellent western romance that I simply cannot put down. The love story was sweet and simple, and I loved how protective Clint was of Mariah while still respecting her strength and independence. It was so endearing. The faith of the characters as they faced trials and evil in this world was so admirable, and it reminded me to go to God in both the big things and the small things. I thoroughly loved this western romantic adventure, and I look forward to the rest of this Wyoming Sunrise series by Mary Connealy!

Mariah Stover loses her brother and father in a terrible stagecoach robbery, but being the lone survivor puts her in the sights of the Dead Eye Gang that killed her family.

Mariah is an independent heroine, facing terrible danger and almost insurmountable heartache. I liked that Clint steps up offering his help. He is a gifted cook, and I liked the way that he adjusts to living in a simple Wyoming town, and taking joy in what he does. He is a gentleman, with noble intentions. I liked that he was patient with Mariah, giving her space to mourn and figure things out. It was nice to see them bonding over their faith as well.

This was a fast paced romantic adventure, set on the Wyoming plain. I liked getting to know the townsfolk, as well as the humor, and romance. A great introduction to a new series, with strong admirable characters in an adventure filled romance! I'm excited to read the rest of the series!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

A fun start to the series set in the 1870's fictional town of Pine Valley, Wyoming. An introduction to a set of strong heroines, with the focus on Mariah, the town's blacksmith. It starts with a perilous situation and keeps the poor gal in danger throughout the story, up until the exciting ending. There are some real 'bad guys' and 'good guys', with some unknowns left for the next book. I enjoyed watching Clint and Mariah's relationship grow into something beyond friendship. Hey, who wouldn't fall for a great guy who is a dynamite chef to boot? He seemed to be there whenever she needed him, but she was kind of clueless to his feelings for her. She's independent to a fault, but she had something to prove. Some brief mentions of faith, but this is pretty much a clean, light, western romance. Enjoyable reading. Recommend! 4 stars

Connealy excels in writing confident, hard-working women, and her newest series is no exception. I'm so excited to spend some time in forward-thinking Wyoming territory with these three young ladies and the fellas who will treasure and woo them as the gems they are! Forged in Love features a fun role-reversal for the time period with a female blacksmith and male-owned and single-handedly operated diner. Who doesn't love a man who does his own dishes and cooks like a dream?! I'm already forming theories about the next two leading ladies and looking forward to continuing the adventure!

I had some mixed feelings about this book…I loved the premise of the story and the book cover completely drew me in. I also liked the setting and time period of this story. However, I didn’t really like Mariah and couldn’t connect with her. She experienced a terrible tragedy with the loss of her father and brother but she is continuing their blacksmith legacy just to prove that she as a woman could do it. Also, she initially rejects Clint’s offer of marriage because she might not be able to continue to be the town’s blacksmith but then accepts his proposal a few hours later because she’s in danger and he doesn’t want to leave her alone…it just felt rushed and their choices didn’t make sense to me.

“She saw the Cirque of the Towers looming over the town. Standing guard.”

How ironic that in the town in which these mountain peaks beckoned people to settle, Mariah Stover could not find the peace and safety she craved. A very suspenseful opening scene sets the tone for this story, the first book in Ms. Connealy’s new Wyoming Sunrise series. Along with the hero and heroine, Clint Roberts and Mariah Stover, I enjoyed getting to meet (most of) the characters in Pine Valley, Wyoming. The slow-burn romance was very sweet and developed differently than typical boy-meets-girl romances, including Clint and Mariah having an eerily similar commonality despite their differences in professions. The danger and suspense kept me turning pages to see how events would resolve and the fear for Mariah’s safety seemed to leap from the pages. As gripping as the story was, my favorite character was not a person but the dog, Brutus, who was both sweet and heroic at the same time. Loved him! I also had to laugh at the humorous references to the names of dishes Clint prepared in his restaurant.
This series is set up well, as the reader is introduced to Mariah’s two closest friends, Nell and Becky, and I look forward to reading their stories as all three friends are quite different.

Forged in Love has a western backdrop which is fun and fresh for me, since I don’t normally read stories with this setting. With kidnappings, stagecoach robberies, and even murder, the tension is well done.

I do have to admit I had a bit of trouble connecting with Mariah, although I felt her tension and danger. I also like that she filled a non-traditional role as a female blacksmith. My connection with Clint was much stronger, and of course, Brutus (the guard dog.)

The dangerous story plot is balanced with elements of humor and a slow-burning romance. And I look forward to future stories in this western historical series involving Mariah’s friends Becky, and Nell.

First Lines: A bullet slammed into the side of the stagecoach carrying Mariah Stover, her pa, and her older brother.

Mary Connealy is an author who never disappoints me! A female blacksmith and a male chef are two of the unforgettable characters in Forged in Love but don't forget the Deadeye Gang of robbers and the upright citizens of Pine Valley. This gang of robbers may be searching for the only witness to one of their crimes, and the townspeople are determined to protect that witness any way they can! There's laughter galore, action unlimited, and a romance that had me hoping for more. Best of all, this is the first book in the new Wyoming Sunrise series so I know there will be more exciting adventures with Mariah and her best friends, Nell and Becky.

Do yourself a favor and grab a copy of Forged in Love. You can't go wrong with this addition to Connealy's "romantic comedies with cowboys"!
