When I meet my Uncle Colt for the first time, he takes my breath away. He looks like the complete opposite of my father and sends my heart racing and my 😽 pulsing. I shouldn't be feeling this way for a man this is forbidden to me, but I can't help it. This summer will be scorching and our clothes will be sure to melt.
Emery Croft is a new author to me. “Colt” is her latest Taboo uncle/niece relations novella. It is a single POV from Everly’s perspective. Colt stays with his brother’s family to “babysit” Everly for a week. She’s 19. He’s 35. What initially seemed to be an interruption of Everly fun summer of having the house all to herself sans parents ends up being an opportunity for Colt and Everly to recognize and act on their forbidden attraction to each other.
I liked the story. The schmex scenes were written well. It’s a 79-page novella but did end abruptly. I’m not sure the intention was to continue the story. If so, it would be nice to get Colt’s perspective.
Every can't wait for her folks to go out of town, but then finds out her uncle Colt (whom she's never met) is going to be staying at her house at that time as well. She is not looking forward to having some "old man" cramping her style and ruining her plans for fun. But what if Colt (former military hottie) isn't what she expects?
