The world I live in is more dangerous than I realized, ruled by two secret organizations—the Dukes and the Lords, whom I've found myself entangled with—but not as dangerous as the treacherous man my father, a Duke of Veross City, insists I must marry. I ran away before he could sink his claws into me. I find myself forced to beg my former best friend—Alekos—for help. Alekos agrees, but he has a price. I must become not only his woman but also that of his two friends. What choice do I have? So I agree with his proposal.
I thought Alekos, Reyes, and Stefan would be my salvation, but they quickly show me they are like any other Lord—cruel, brutal, and heartless.
My father was right about one thing—the Lords destroy everything they touch. Can I survive these demons? My freedom depends on it.
I must endure all that Alekos, Reyes, and Stefan put me through until I can escape this savage city.
Wayyy to much misogyny and double standards, the way they are treating her is disgusting. They get to players who sleeps with tons of woman while she has to be a virgin. They hurt her multiple times during sex even though she doesn't want it, one even slaps her face multiple times. One guy she rejected in high school so he went around high school kissing her best friend, calling her a stupid bitch , he's basically an incel. They got sex slaves and much other disgusting things. Three words to describe it Non con. Misogyny. Double standards. The smut wasn't hot at all , not when she didn't want it... Absolutely disgusting the way the treated ger like a whore don't recommend at all
Also why is it filled with 5 stars, tf deserves 5 stars the unique different ways to hurt her, calling her whore, 🤮. I mean it was so bad that I just wanted her to kill herself so she would be free
I rarely write reviews. I’m an avid reader, and dark romance is one of my favorite genres. But this… this was just so, so sad. These men deserve to rot in the deepest pits of hell for what they put the FMC through. They are irreparable and quite frankly, disgusting. I would have shot all three and walked out during that first meeting. Barf.
Dnf at 50%. I have no words for this horrific book. I read quite a bit of dark romance but reading this made me nauseous. I’m not sure how this has such a high rating, but honestly I cannot fathom how people were able to stomach getting through this book. I’m not sure any amount of groveling could redeem the male leads.
I don't usually write reviews, but I think it's needed for this one.
DNF around 40% because it was too much (and not in a good way).
Let's start from the lack of a trigger warnings list. I understand that it's not mandatory, but in a book on this kind of topics, I expect at least something. Not everything, but at least the attention to say "strong topics". Nothing at all.
This book is a mix between a mafia romance, a fantasy with demons and angels and stuff like mates and bonds (like in werewolf books). It's done bad. Really bad. At the point you actually ask yourself what the fuck is this stuff? There are also some basic grammar errors that make me want to gift the author a grammar book.
Anyway, the story starts with Angel going to Alekos to ask for help to run away from her home since her dad wants for her to marry some old, sadistic dude.
(Context: Angel and Alekos were friends in high school, until he asked her out, she refused and he started to ignore her, insult her, sleep with her "bff" and bullying her. They haven't seen each others in years.)
Anyway, in the present she finds herself in a "contract" where Alekos and two of his friends can do to her whatever they want in exchange for safety from her dad and her fiancé. From the first moment they meet, they assault her. Almost every single time they have intercourse, she asks to stop (more than once) and not one of them listen to her. They beat her, slap her and insult her every other sentence.
When they think she betrayed their trust, they do to her so much horrible stuff that it would need years of therapy to try and deal with it. You think they would stop once they realized they were wrong, but no, they "punish" her again and again until she breaks and wants to die. Then, one of them realizes that he loves her (he doesn't, that's not love) and get her away.
The whole point of her seeking Alekos's help is to be safe and not being sa by a sadist that she didn't love, just to end in the same predicament but with three perpetuators instead of one. They never listen to her or try to let her explain, but all the time they fantasize how it will be when she's pregnant and when the bond is fully formed and when whatever happens. I think that any sane woman on this planet would rather die than have a baby with one of the "heros".
In the book timeline it's been less than 3 hours since they sa her in front of the entire house staff, filming it and putting it online and two of the guys try to initiate intercourse again in two different moments. She is desperate, broke, hurt and whatever else and their answer is to try and rape her again?
After that, I put it down. I don't want to know what the fuck they do to get her to forgive them. I wouldn't even look at them. All this experience was disgusting and I think I need a long shower to try and "clean" myself.
This kind of topic should be handled with care, and in this book there is none. I wouldn't even call this a book, sorry. I can't understand how the fuck someone would rate this abomination 5 stars. Or more than one star. If I could, I'd go below zero and I usually abstain from rating.
My suggestion for the writer is to seek professional help.
I am a dark romance reader i never even care to read trigger warning. But these book actually got some dark shit. So but i still love these and now i am at loss because i finish it
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Okay this one was darker than what I've imagined it to be where should I begin with The spice level was so high so much smut if you are a smut reader this is definitely a 10/10 read Angel has been through a lot of torment games and all but damn the girl has some guts to Handle those 3 men They are basically a$$holes and $ex addict when it comes to angel, i personally love reyes and alekos is good good Stefan is just 3rd wheeling 😂 Voilence✔️ Torture✔️ Kidnapping✔️ Dark romance ✔️ Reverse harem✔️ Knife/blood play✔️ Devil and Rituals✔️ Basically Darker than our future but it's worth it😭 And the best part is all of the characters have povs and some extra pov from side characters, staring is full of smut but when you get to the plot you'll love it. Amy thanks for the ARC this book definitely helped me to recover from the book slump 🖤🤌
ME ESTAI WEANDO
O sea, me gusta leer darkromance, pero está huea me superó.
I'm not even complaining about the issues I had content-wise with this book bc I signed up for that after the TW. But holy shit if there is something I hate in books it’s Grammar that sucks. There were so many spelling or grammar mistakes, it's insane, like wtf, how do ppl even read this? Smh.
I just hope this writer never publishes anything ever AGAIN… because this was a huge pile of garbage and nonsense. the story is horrible, the writing is awful and the characters are beyond disturbing and disgusting.
like another reviewer said the author should probably seek professional help and if you think this book is good you should join. y’all need serious help.
this should get ZERO stars. my suggestion would be to burn this book
When Angel is in big trouble and trying to escape what is she willing to trade for help and her freedom. She offers Alekos the only thing she has left her virginity but she doesn't understand what she is really getting herself into. Alekos, Reyes and Stefen try anything they can to break her mind, body and spirit. Will they succeed or will she fight back. These men are assholes and are completely ruthless. And no matter how they feel about Angel nothing will change that. If you are looking for men that start as monsters and turn into heroes these are not the men for you. They start as monsters and end as monsters but they are so deliciously psycho you fall for them anyways.
ANGEL- She is running and fighting for her freedom. That's all she wants and she thinks Alekos can help her with that but can he and the boys really help her. Or will they destroy the spunky sassy woman she is. She goes through hell and back with not just her mind but her body and soul as well. Will they break her or will she endure everything and rise up stronger than ever. She might just be the woman that can wrangle their demons.
ALEKOS- The top dog of these "brothers". When the woman who has always held his heart shows up for help will he help her or really destroy his one chance of happiness. He is your typical alpha asshole that you can't help but to swoon over.
REYES- He is the psychopath. But something about Angel has his demon screaming "MINE". But will he ruin it all when he follows his brothers in trying to tear apart this spunky woman. Reyes is broken and the only way he feels is to fuck or kill. He is the deranged one of the group in my absolute favorite.
STEFEN- He may go along with what Alekos wants doesn't mean he has to like it. Something is holding him back when it comes to Angel. Will he ever be able to get over it. He may be the quiet one but make no mistake he is just as deadly as the other two if not more so.
None of these characters are going to get the future they thought it should be. But that what makes it so great. Amy does such an amazing job with this dark and deranged story you can't help but to love the assholes. I am so happy they stay true to themselves.
*Shackled* is the first book in *The Lords* series, a slow burn RH dark romance that explores a world shaped by intricate mythology, class systems, and a retelling of the creation story through the lens of angels and demons. Before diving in, I strongly recommend checking the trigger warnings, as the book contains heavy themes, including bullying, non-consent, and pervasive misogyny with double standards.
I stumbled upon this book after accidentally reading the second installment in the series. Wanting to understand the world-building better and prepare for the upcoming third book, scheduled for release in December 2024, I decided to go back to *Shackled*. Having read the darker and heavier second book first, I found myself better prepared for the tone of the series. This allowed me to approach *Shackled* with a more comedic sense, leading to some chuckles and eye-rolling moments.
There is a noticeable shift in the depiction of misogyny in this book, with a gentler approach toward women emerging as the story progresses. While it’s not ideal, I’m hoping this development is building toward a strong and satisfying finale in Book 3.
The author has clearly put a lot of thought into creating a rich backstory and lore for the series. However, the execution falls short and the book is riddled with grammatical errors and run-on sentences. That said, the author is currently rewriting this installment, so there’s hope for improvement in the future.
Despite its flaws, I appreciate the effort to build a unique mythology and world. However, I must emphasize the trigger warnings again: the tropes of bullying and non-consensual themes may not suit every reader, and the romance leans heavily into its dark elements.
Where do i even begin ? Lets start with Reader beware this book is Dark and twisted and if you have triggers make sure to head the TW before going any further, this is my only warning to you.
This book is very well written and the story line flows very well through the entire book.
Im a huge lover of the dark and twisted books they are my go to genre so it’s always hard to find a dark book that pulls me in for the whole book and hit all the right spots and some of those trigger seeking areas I ache for in books. This book kept me in a choke-hold the entire book and at times had my pulse picking up
I cannot wait for more from Amy
"But don't expect me to be some kind of a hero. I am the villain of the story. The monster that hides under your bed and comes out during the night"
" I might love her, but my love is sick and twisted. It is a love born in hell and will burn everything in its path- even her"
Shackled is a dark read so make sure you check trigger warnings before you start reading this book. This is an intense, secret society, dark, breeding, reverse harem read that keeps it's readers in the edge of their seats from the start. Lots of drama and excitement between these two worlds who so bitterly hate each other. The Dukes run one half of the city and The Lords run the other half. Angelica Hernandez is the daughter of Luis Hernandez, one of the most powerful Dukes in the city. Alekos Raptou is from the Lords, very powerful in his own right. From very different worlds yet they fit like they've always belonged to each other.
“You fit perfectly in my arms. Like you were made for me.”
Shackled is my first read by this author and it's been quite a journey. They take us on a huge adventure with these twisted characters and storyline. I can't wait for more from this series.
This is a very dark romance, with tons of spice! Highly suggest reading the trigger warnings, especially if you normally do not.
When Angel needs protection, she runs to her former crush, Alkeos, to trade protection for her virginity, but ends up becoming mated to him and his two best friends, Reyes and Stefan. What she doesn’t know if they all have demons and are all determined to break her mentally and spiritually. These are ruthless men who only put themselves first, even over their mate. This book dives into their toxic relationships, and how Angel manages three very different men. This is not the book where they guys turn out to be good guys, they remain that bad guys the entire time. I personally couldn’t forgive what Angel did, but Reyes is a top book boyfriend for me.
I received this book as an ARC, and previously started it on another platform.

A strong FMC who was trying to escape from one monster to only walk into the lair of three other monsters.
I kind of went into this blindly other than me knowing the shopping list of content warnings && if y’all haven’t figured it out by now I don’t see red flags..all I see is green. Let me tell y’all though, these men (Stefan, Reyes, and Alekos) turned my green into yellow…maybe a yellow/orange at times. Except for Reyes, I think that man could do no wrong in my eyes. While there were some “I can’t believe they just did that” moments, the storyline was amazing and had me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out who is who, and what happens next.
This is this authors first dark romance and honestly I can’t wait to read more.
Overall, it was a fun read. There are typos and an overabundance of commas, but I'm nitpicky about editing.
That said...
I love the concept of the demons vs angels.
And like my title says, this is very, very dark. Heed the warnings if you are sensitive to dubcon/noncon and extreme sadism.
There were a few scenes that I had a difficult time getting through, not just because of the "punishment" the FMC was dealing with, but because of the situations and misunderstandings that led to them, and the trio of men refusing to listen to her. Extreme is the word that comes to mind.
That said, I am looking forward to the next book, because I am invested in what will happen with Carlos, Azael, and the Sisterhood.
I love that how all of them and their love twisted for one person. Story has everything for me to stick with it and i am so glad that i find that book in my very poor days some peoples may not find very cool about liking these kind of story so i am not so in BDSM but somehow i find myself that maybe i like it too and apart from that story has everything fantasy, drama, pain and pleasure, love and romance, broken bonds and broken heart ,broken mind and soul too . When i was reading i was feeling so many emotions like connected and confused, angry and happiness at the same time it was so so so amazing and satisfied . I love the book from start to the end Pls let me know when 2nd book will be release????plsssss
Bo nagłe zmiany postaw postaci, raz jest dobrze, zaraz źle, no i znów dobrze...
-dark romance Angels/Demons -rh -knife play -mentual/physical/emotional abuse & More check trigger warnings!
The storyline was great, and lots of smut. Angelica ran away from her fiance to seek help from an old friend. He said he'll help as long as he can share her with his 2 friends. Alekos and Reyes realize Angelica is their Hellstar and will do anything to protect her. Stefan had a harder time accepting her cause he still isn't over the death of his woman Emily.
This book is a very DARK romance. At times I even questioned if it could be considered a romance, but it redeemed itself in the end. It’s a little more on the fantasy end for my taste, but if I looked past that I can call it four stars. I can also tell that it was written by someone who doesn’t speak English as their first language or it was translated from another language. Not that that’s a bad thing, it just made some of the wording a little wonky. Overall I enjoyed it, especially the darkest, most depraved parts; they were done very well. Looking forward to the next Lords book.
No groveling at all from the three mates. I know this is dark romance and I signed myself up for that. But good lord, the groveling they took for them to realize their own fucked up mistakes? Zero, it never happened. And of course she forgives them. Thought she was the badass female lead we All needed, that put her foot down. But no, she goes ahead and lets herself get fucked. Then all of a sudden they didn’t do anything to her their whole life. All in all a great book. The only think pissing me off is the lack of groveling they do.

3.5/5 CW: blood, bullying, claustrophobia, death of a parent, death of a sibling, dubious consent, kidnapping, misogyny, murder, non consent, parental neglect, panic attack, pregnancy, rape, slavery, suicidal thoughts
This is a VERY dark romance book so be sure you are in the right headspace to be able to handle the content. The storyline was a lot more interesting that I thought - there were a lot of twists and turns that I weren't expecting. I am happy with the way this book ended and I am curious to see what happens with
The story was... okay I guess if you can get past the poor spelling and grammar. Any semblance of a story was completely overshadowed by how shitty the men in this book are!
*Spoilers*
1. They have a sex slave (because women are owned in this book) 2. They punish said sex slave by sending her to be gang *graped* 3. They tie up and psychologically and physically torture the MFC 4. They literally *grape* the FMC in almost every sex scene
I won't lie I only found this story because of an app lol so I am prob not the target audience.
I was crying every time they hurt her, they destroy her soul and really hate the way they treated her. I really want them to be suffer for how they treated her, for how much they hurt her. Alekos Claim to love her but he didn't think twice before he broke her trust. All three saw what she did to their precious things but they forgot how they torn her apart, shattered her. I wish she make them suffer more then she go through. But it was just my opinion because I can't stand the way they treated her. I cry for whole night while reading this book.
Strangely enough this was my first Dark Romance first. To say I dove in head first in the deep end is entirely accurate. Do I regret my choice? Absolutely not. Angel is a kick arse FMC, Akeos, Reyes and Stefan are your morally dark grey men. They do have their sweet sides, one takes longer to show it than the others. The unhinged Reyes stole the book for me. I know Akeos was the main male but Reyes was impressive. Loved this book. I would not say to jump into Dark Romance via this method, maybe get your feet wet first but if you weird like me then just jump right in.
I do recommend readers review trigger warnings for this book. this book is an introduction into a world of angels, demons and secret societies. desperation forces Angel to make choices, who is the lesser evil? The MLs are not saints either. the author however has a way of painting the characters, thier dynamics are realistic for thier personalities and inner demons. as secret after secret is opened up in this world and new threats loom the demons and angels must find thier anchors before its too late.
If Dark Romance is your thing, it's time to board the roller coaster this book takes you through and you're going to enjoy every single moment of it. If you're new to Dark Romance and want to give this book a chance, it deserves it. The underlying story woven throughout is addicting and you can't help but turn the next page to see what happens next. I can't wait to see where the next book takes me.
