Holy crap! This was really good.
Rating : 3.9 - 4⭐
This was published in October 2023, so it's a late work, not even remotely as silly as the other older short stories were. Those were ridiculous - this is worthy of a full length book.

First of all I'll say dump that damn cover, it doesn't do this story any justice, that's not who the psychopath in this story is.
This is him.
That's Winston. He's a diagnosed psychopath who's been rejected by his family, was in the foster care system and made it to adulthood with having the tools as a psychopath to somehow blend in and survive, considering who he is.
He works for a local mob boss, he's a hired killer and lives a pretty comfortable life, so he's not some crazy bum walking in the woods, no - he's at the local cemetary every Halloween to feed his intense hunger for scaring people.
When the town has an annual Halloween scare with hired actors at the cemetary, Winston participates and notices Kacey.
Kacey is a young guy who lives in a run down neighborhood, he's uneducated and broke and was left with his mother's debt when she died, so the guy haunting him for money is always on his back.
Kacey just wants to get away from his hard life and hide, so he comes to the cemetary to hang out with his friends for a few days for this year's Halloween.
He gets spooked and trapped by whom he thinks is a hired actor, but he soon realises that's not the case, because Winston hunts him down twice and fucks him into next week - bare, no lube, no prep, nothing. He carves his initials on Kacey's chest and tells him it's done, they're never separating again.
"I'm going to cut you down," I warned him. "And when I cut you down, you better fucking run. Run as hard as you can and as fast as you can."
I loved Winston's character, he has that perfect balance of unhinged and responsible and Kacey loves and accepts him, even though Kacey knows Winston will never be able to love him back, but as obsessed as he is with Kacey, that passion and devotion is more than enough for him.
Kacey isn't really objecting to anything Winston does to him at the cemetary, he loves it and he loves being Winston's dirty boy.
Winston however takes excellent care of Kacey, safe to say Winston is a very decent guy and Kacey's life takes a turn for the better when they end up living together.
The epilogue was good, the bonus scene was sweet and my review is one big spoiler alert and I'm telling everything, because I really liked the story and looking at the cover someone might probably not pick it, but I'm telling you - give it a shot.
I'd really like to read this as a full length book.

July 23, 2025Alright, I was enjoying this until the epilogue, when it was mentioned that Kecey was at home doing math homework, and that he sucked at math so sometimes Winston would help him... Which made me ask myself how old is Kecey?
I just assumed he's college age, but we don't get his age anywhere. We know that his mom died a week ago. We know that he's with two friends (who are not real friends) smoking weed at the haunted house before he meets Winston. And Winston kept calling him "boy", but I thought it was a kink thing, or that Winston is significantly older.
There are CWs at the beginning and there's nothing about one of the MCs being a minor. But I don't know? Don't tell me I just read an erotica involving a minor, ffs...

This book was the perfect blend of dark and dirty and debauched. Kacey and Winston had amazing chemistry. This novella took me on a wild, dark and twisted ride with a psychopath. And I loved every word of it. My one complaint? I wanted more! I wanted a full length novel but that’s because it was soo good and I’m so greedy. This short story had the perfect amount of plot with debauchery, dirtiness and kinkiness. These two had amazing chemistry and were sexy. I craved more like Winston craved Kacey’s tears and fear. The writing was amazing, as always. The blood, kinkiness and depravity worked well for me. Dark romance is my absolutely favorite to read and this book tucked all my boxes except that it wasn’t a full length. I could read so much more of this couple and the life they lead and the things they will face together. Truly a fantastic dark MM romance. And the playlist? That suited the story perfectly. I created my own playlist with those songs and read with them and it worked so well. It gave the beginning a sinister quality to it. Fantastic job.

If you love a short, dark romance with a psychopath MMC then you'll want to check out this spooky season book. Kacey is getting high in the forest behind a haunted house. He just wants to have a little peace from his stressful life. His mother recently past and now he has a major debt to pay off. When his friends ditch him in the woods he falls into a trap. Winston has been watching him, waiting to make his move. When the guy is caught in a trap Winston is ready to pounce. He's not a regular person. He's a psychopath that enjoys scaring people and has a rather violent job. Winston and Kacey's first passionate encounter leads to bloodshed pretty quickly. Winston is absolutely feral and obsessed with his dirty boy. Although he's ruthless he also has a protective and caring side. Kacey doesn't know what he's got himself into. He should definitely not be with this insane guy but he can't help the way he feels. This short novella had spooky vibes, knife play, clown make up, murder as a love language, and a twisted, toxic love.

This is a decidedly dark and delightfully twisted story from West Greene. Often times author's will proclaim their stories are dark when they are really just a little dark (though it's always good to be forewarned when there may be triggering content...); in THIS story, it IS definitely dark with a genuinely psychopathic main character who falls (in his own twisted, possessive way) for a genuinely innocent and needy young man and makes sure everyone knows it. The initial meeting between the two is the part that makes the content dark, but everything that happens thereafter makes it a twisted, perfect fictional romance. So good.

Fantastic find
This book is quick but fulfilling. I could read this multiple times. And there aren't many short books that fulfill that side of me. A lot of short books miss depth and leaves you wanting. But this book definitely doesn't leave you wanting. Like, yeah, I admit that for purely entertainment purposes, I could've read more of their crazy, but it hit every aspect a book of this nature needed. Kacey was perfect for his role. He was bred for it. His rough life some what prepared him for Winston's type of attention. I think that if you want to read a great quick read, then you will love this book and will not regret the buy.

Please read triggers! I loved the darkness that book held! Winston and Kacey were hot together. Both Winston and Kasey become obsessed with each other and while "not healthy" its prefect for them as they found the one person that they can't live without. The only thing to make this book better was if it was longer! I would love to see West write a full novel book just like this. I would highly recommend this book and I really want more.

I loved Let Me Be Your Monster: Dark MM Halloween Romance. This is a short and dark read. Kasey is having a hard time and was escaping for a bit when he’s found by Winston who is certifiably insane. He’s claiming Kasey fie his Ken even if Kasey doesn’t want him. He will protect him and keep him safe. It’s definitely a darker story but I loved it. I loved the storyline and the characters. I would definitely recommend this book.

This is not a sweet story, it is dark and may not be everyone's cup of tea. Kacey is caught by a man who has been watching him, Winston. Winston will be claiming him and keeping him, whether he wants it of not.
There is plenty about this that could be triggering but this works for the two characters. It is creepy but also very hot.

I have to say the love Winston has for Kacey is pass psychotic. When other look like they wanna touch Kacey he is takes care of business. I really did not like Richard and I am glad that Winston "disposed" of him. Kacey really needed to be taken care of and Winston was perfect to do so.
Winston is my favorite "crazy" right now...and that is a compliment to him.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, I think I may need therapy because that… was perfect and completely messed up but I enjoyed it immensely.

I love a good murdery, psycho, stalker with a heart for his person. This story delivered on all counts. Heed the trigger warnings, he isn't kidding, but all in all it wasn't as dark as it could have been. I enjoyed every bit of it except the meeting that turned into SA. Well, this certainly meets the dark part, and all the triggers do show up, it’s short but not sweet, characters grab you and pull you along start to finish. Kacey’s background is only alluded to, and Winston must have been something growing up, but these two seemed meant for each other. Creepy but good!.

Short and Violent
As a psychopath, Westin enjoys scaring people. However, Kacey does NOT like being scared. Still, somehow, when these two come together, it works, if a bit deviantly and completely violently. I’ll admit, I skimmed some of the violent t0rture bits, but Weston’s protective was exactly what Kacey needed, so it worked for me. A short and very, very violent story.

Please mind the trigger warnings. This was a short, fast paced story. If you like your characters possessive and crazy, then you are definitely going to want to read this. These two were so made for each other and Winston is going to make sure it stays that way. This was an excellent read.

Nothing like a good short, hot, twisted MM romance to end my day. This was deliciously twisted. Winston is obsessed with Kacey at first sight, and nothing and no one gets in his way.
