How does a man in a business suit end up in the middle of a forest, appears dead one moment, the next disappears into thin air? Will Maggie succeed in helping Adam prove he even exists?
On a warm Indian summer day, a newly appointed canine unit conservation officer gets a tipoff that someone built a tree hut for hunting in Painted Turtle nature reserve. Eager to help his colleague and familiar with Foxton's extensive forests, Adam heads into the reserve from the west, leaving the other officer, Sam, and her dog, Wilson, to enter from the east. Instead of a tree hut, Adam stumbles upon a man dressed in an office suit in the middle of the forest. Believing the man is dead, he calls the police, but when they arrive the man has disappeared and the search is fruitless. At his wits’ end, Adam calls upon Maggie to help him make sense of what he saw. Not only does Maggie find evidence that he wasn’t hallucinating, but they, together with Sam and Wilson, also discover the tree hut…which leads them to a far bigger illegal operation than could ever be expected in sleepy Foxton. If that’s not enough, Maggie finds a body and witnesses another death… How will she cope with it this time?
**Lethally Tipsy: Maggie's 7th adventure** is just out for a cozy autumn read!
Amber Boffin loves stories and writing. She started writing to keep in touch with friends from different continents and then to document her travels around the world. British-born, she worked and lived in a number of countries together with her husband before settling in Canada.
The idea that her cozies might provide you with a little moment of cheerful entertainment, an escape from our hectic world via some of nature’s beautiful places, with a mystery or two to tease your mind, motivates Amber to write.
What a treat to read Maggie 7th adventure in the series. Just what I needed to relax … Another engaging and inventive plot with as always the playful involvement of a wild creature. Amber didn’t disappoint with her hallmark vivid description of nature and the unraveling à la “Agatha Christie” with all the suspects gathered together for Maggie to work her magic and reveal what really happened. Character wise, Sam, a game warden and Adam’s colleague, together with her work dog Wilson, are nice additions to the quirky varied cast, without upstaging Maggie. I hope they’ll return in the next one. A nice addition to the series!
Maggie Flanagan works with two conservation officers to try and help figure out who is responsible for the death of a man found in the forest. The Painted Turtle nature reserve is beautiful in the Fall but why is there a hunting hut? Who built it and why? Who is the dead man and who wanted him dead? Does any of this have to do with the new craft beer operation that just opened up in town? I love all the characters. Each one has her or her own personality and I've enjoyed watching them grow and develop from book to book. The setting for the book is beautiful. Very well written and a book you won't want to put down! I happily recommend this book and series!
I received a copy of this book from the author to read and give my opinion of it. I enjoyed reading the book. I read the book " Lethally Bald" in October. This book follows the same main characters as the one I had read. It has mystery and murders, and some conflicts but was fun to read. I plan on finding the first books in this series and also read them.
The Maggie Flanagan Cozy Mystery series by Amber Boffin is always a fun read, and Lethally Tipsy is no exception. Engaging characters in a Canadian small town setting lure in readers as whodunit plot keeps them quickly turning pages. With thrilling twists and surprising turns, Lethally Tipsy proves that this series just keeps getting better and better!
