Critical Care is a romantic suspense tale and the sixth book in the amazing Chase Care series. Each book gets better and better. Make sure to read them in order so you don’t miss out on all the goodness of the other books.
This story is a fast paced, medical romance thriller that had my heart pumping and I found myself on the edge of my seat in more than one occasion. There is drama, emotion, chemistry, spice, danger, suspense and the tension rising and your emotions on high. It is nonstop thrills and action in this enticing story.
I have said it before, but I will say it again Robin has cleverly woven together another story that you are unable to step away from. I found I was at the end before I knew it because I was so engrossed in the story,
This is Tim and Willow’s story, and I am in love with all the characters. I love the alpha men and strong women.
Lives are on the line as drugs are tampered with but that doesn’t stop Tim and Willow jumping in to make things right but in doing so, they put their lives on the line as well.
I love this series and the anticipation of what is to come is exciting. I want more.

One can truly underestimate what the human body is able to take. Well, most people anyway. Not this author. She will take the human body and spirit right to the very edge and then slowly walk it back to sanity. Amazing.

Tim is thriving in his position. But Chase takes care of family. So Tim agrees to go Maine to care for a friends’ partner. Tim meets a traveling nurse helping out at the same hospital. They bond over everything from patient care to being from DC to movies to food. They just get each other. Tim is truly smitten and takes it slow. He doesn’t want to spook the best thing that ever happened to him.

Willow started as a traveling nurse shortly after her relationship to a possessive, controlling, abusive doctor ended with an intervention from her brothers. These contracts only took Willow away for 3 months at time but they kept her on the move and from building attachments to anyone. Until Tim. Tim sparked things in her that no one had ever before. When he left her in Maine, She took a long hard look at what she wanted and what she wanted was Tim. Willow reached out to him in DC.

Tim’s return home began with an exploding bus. Things only got more complicated from there. A colleague reached to discuss a growing problem of possible contaminated chemo drugs. As the mystery grew, so did Tim and Willow’s relationship. But Willow didn’t want to stop being Willow. Just as their relationship was taking new steps, Willow was requested for a new contract position in California. It was only 13 weeks. Could Willow and Tim make it that long?

As Willow started her new job, Tim clasped 3 miles from the end of the annual marathon he ran honoring his mother. Upon examination, it was more than just the sinus infection and exhaustion Tim thought it to be. It was lymphoma. Willow had to make the choice, return home to be with Tim or risk everything to stay? Willow chooses love.

As Tim gets worse, the conspiracy to flood the market with under-effective or contaminated chemo drugs is revealed. As the players are identified, there are many surprises. Relationships are destroyed. People are not who they were thought to be. Money and power lust rule. Will Tim survive? Can their new love overcome the trials?

This one was a little heavy with all the medical jargon and procedures but it all turns out to be necessary to the story. Great recurring cast of characters. Can’t get enough of Flynn!! Love how the Chase family takes care of their own. Another fantastic addition in this series!!

Wow. Just wow. This book, Critical Care by RL Dunn, totally blew me away. It was absolutely amazing, even if I was crying for at least half of the book. This is book six of the Chase Care series, but can be read as a standalone. To be honest, I've not read any other books in the series and RL Dunn is a new to me author - I came into reading this book with no expectations but was drawn in by the blurb.

I don't want to gush too much and go into too many details, I am trying to keep this review short and spoiler free. But basically, to me this book is like the TV shows New Amsterdam and Castle - all mingled together and they had a baby show.

Tim Holland is ex-Navy, a pararescue jumper and facility director at Chase Care in Washington, DC. The Chase Care group is a tight knit group of family, found family and friends and Tim is well loved by them, as well as his father (a Navy Colonel) and his sisters. He met Willow Colson of page and have been dating for a couple months.

A few years earlier Willow had a terrible relationship with an oncologist she used to work with and for the past three years has been working as a travelling nurse, taking contracts all over the country. Her parents and brothers all live in DC, even though she and Tim met on respective assignments in Portland. Her father is a US District Attorney for DC and Deputy Chief of the Violent Crimes division. Her mother appears to be a society matron, and her brothers include another attorney, a doctor and a physician's assistant.

Being together with their busy careers seems so difficult, though Willow's fear keeps her from fully committing with Tim. However, Tim and Willow's worlds turn upside. First, Tim discovers some discrepancies with patient care, and he isn't the only one. Second, Tim is about to have a devastating health diagnosis, which forces Willow to decide just how import Tim is to her. Thirdly, there is danger and mystery, which Tim is fighting for his life and it involves them both.

This was a roller coaster of drama and emotions that I'm finding it difficult to properly describe and give just to this great book. As I said at the start, I think I spent about half my time reading this book crying.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Tim Holland was assigned to look after his colleagues daughter but he was not accepting to met a sassy nurse, once he returns back to DC he wants to keep the relationship going but it is always hard with a long distance relationship.

Willow has finally finished her travelling nurses contract and back in DC and after the conversations with Tim the relationship seems to be moving fast, although they are still busy they find time for each other. When an opportunity comes up for Willow to go to San Diego Tim encourages her to take it as part of her career advancement.

Tim discovers as part of his job a mystery with patients dying unexpectantly and as he and the rest of Chase investigate lives become threatened and a major illness seems like it will derail Chase care and Security.

This is the sixth book in this series and omg it is just as thrilling as the other books I have read in this series. Tim has cropped up in the other books and have always wondered his story and voila he it is. Willow is a great character for Tim as she is full of sass and is not to afraid to give her opinion which a refreshing avenue in the story.

The story opens up the pharmaceutical industry as what could happen with short stock and supply and demand which is just as riveting as the story itself. The twists and turns in the story had me gripped and reading well into the night to finish it.

I enjoyed the interaction as always of the secondary characters who are becoming like fiends as I read more of the stories related to Critical Care. Can't wait to read the next book in this series.

This is the 6th book in the Chase Care Series. These books are medical romance/thrillers. They are full of romance, chemistry but also added drama, danger, and risk to life that will leave you on the edge of your seat with your heart pounding. I would definitely recommend reading these books in order as they are so good and I personally plan on going back and reading reading them.
In this story we are with Tim and Willow.
Tim is a Facility Director and Willow is a travelling Nurse. Willow is running from past bad relationships so isn't too what to jump into dating Tim but as time progresses they can't deny their attraction and when Tim goes through a personal battle it really brings home to them just how much they mean to each other. Could this be their second chance at romance?
Add to this a mystery that they need to solve when medication has been tampered with and they need to find out who has done it and why. But as you can imagine trying to uncover something as dark and dangerous as that also leads them into a position where they are putting their lives on the line searching for the truth.

These books can be read as a standalone. I have loved everyone and I couldn't put this down. I was really captivated by Willow's and Tim's story and with the added danger of uncovering the mystery around the medication it really kept me gripped all the way through. I don't want to give to much more away as you have to read this authors work to truly appreciate it.

I'm a fan of R.L. Dunn so when I saw an opportunity to pick this book up, I couldn't pass on it. I thought it might be a general romance novel, which it is a romantic novel, but oh so much more! I also love medical themed books and this one did not disappoint. Many would be possibly turned off by the use of big medical terms but not this girl! I dove right in!

My initial first impression of the first few chapters is that it was a cheesy romance novel. The terms of endearment used between Tim and Willow were a bit over the top in my opinion. I almost spit out my drink a couple of times at the cheesiness of it all. However, the story took a quick turn from strictly romantic to being full of suspense. I couldn't read it fast enough to know all the twists and turns. There were quite a few plot twists, which engaged me even further into the book. A couple I saw coming but not all of them.

I have not read the previous 5 books in this series. This can be read as a standalone. However, I'm very intrigued by this Chase Care organization, as well as being a fan of this author, so I'll be going back and reading the other books in this series.

If you love a psychologically twisted plot full of medical procedures and jargon, this one will not disappoint!

Having read and enjoyed the previous books in this series I was looking forward to this latest medical romance and I was not disappointed. I was taken on an emotional rollercoaster whilst reading this page turner of a novel and was hooked throughout. Tim Holland is a seasoned pararescue jumper along side being the facility director at Chase Care in Washington, DC. Willow Colson is a travelling nurse who is running away from her past bad relationships. The couple have been dating, but when Tim faces a life threatening personal battle it makes them both realise how much they mean to each other.
Tim and Willow become involved in a medical mystery when Chase Care discovers that some chemotherapy drugs are being tampered with, resulting in countless lives being put at risk. The couple join an unlikely alliance with a man from Willow’s past in order to find out who’s behind the drug tampering and put a stop to it. Once again I was immersed in the world of Chase Care through the descriptive narrative which brings both the characters and the setting vividly to life. The storyline was full of drama and suspense whilst the plot twists kept the story unpredictable. It can be read as a standalone story, however I personally recommend reading the whole series as the characters do crossover. I look forward to book seven.

Critical Care is the sixth book in the Chase Care Book Series by R.L Dunn. As mentioned before, this medical thriller series is a spin-off from one of Ms. Dunn’s other great series- ‘Chase Security’- but the books can definitely be read as standalones, if you wanted. But, having said that, you might just find that one book won’t be enough to satisfy your new cravings.
This is a medical thriller/romantic suspense- with action, darker elements, second chances, dramatic developments, tension, danger, mystery, thrills, love, sacrifice, thrills, agendas, secrets, angst, intrigue, chemistry, sizzle, intensity, and much more.
Tim and Willow are going to be put through the ringer here that’s for sure. Bringing plenty of heart pounding moments as well as tugging on the heart strings, and even a few cheesy moments that made me smile. I don’t want to give too much away and spoil it for you- but Tim’s personal battle thrusts him into a situation he never saw coming and intertwines his path with Willow’s/. What happens makes for an engrossing multi-layered story that had me completely invested the whole way through.
I’m not sure whether there are more books in this series still to come, but no matter what, I am happy to read whatever Ms. Dunn produces next.
Happy Reading…

Thank You, R.L Dunn!

This is an amazing quick read. I fully enjoyed the characters and their development throughout the story. It has everything you would want in a romance. The push and pull of whether or not they want to take a chance on love again. There is medical jargon that allows you to feel the presence of what they are doing but isn't so over the top that you don't understand. It showed a depth of knowledge from the author but made it were anyone could read it and understand. I loved that, I am by no means in the medical field and felt completely confident in what was happening. It does have a lot of super sweet mushy romance in the beginning with endearment that I wasn't sure I could read the whole thing if it was like that. Then you turn the page and all of sudden there is a suspense plot line that I didn't see coming. It is amazing to be able to have the romance and the suspense in such a way that you don't want to put the book down. This read was super quick and I loved every minute of it. This is the 6th book in the series but can be read as a stand alone. I have read others in this series so I knew a little of what to expect. Having said that, this was a really fresh take on a story line that I didn't see coming and I enjoyed every minute of it. Each book that I have read in this series has not disappointed me and it keeps me coming back for more.

Critical Care (Chase Care Series Book 6) by R.L. Dunn

Critical Care is the sixth book in the Chase Care Series. This is a Romantic Suspense that had me turning the pages till the end. I love me a good Medical Romance and this one definitely checks all those boxes. This whole series has been amazing and im definitely going to be rereading in the future. There’s plenty of action, drama, suspense, danger, thrills, chills and moments my heart was beating so fast from the suspense and not knowing what was going to happen next. I think this series gets better and better and this is my favorite yet. This is Tim and Willow’s story. He’s the Facility Director and seasoned pararescue jumper. Willow is a strong woman who is trying to get ahead on her past and bad relationship choices and is a traveling nurse. She’s got a healing heart and lots of passion for her job and patient’s. What will happen when Chase Care discovers there’s meds that have been tampered with? Get ready for a wild heart thumping ride . I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I pretty much devoured this book in one sitting ,I had to know what was going to happen. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

Reading this book while waiting for my own medical diagnosis and results was rather difficult at first. It took me several days to get my head into this story and that is no fault of the author or the actual writing. As a mother of a childhood cancer survivor there is no way I would have been able to read this story while my son was going through the same chemo treatments as others in this story.

Almost half way through the book Tim Holland had an epiphany of sorts after his own medical crisis…”He was not going to let his fear stop him from living his life, even if things looked different than they did before.”

This story has just enough medical jargon to be realistic but basic enough for the reader to understand and not get lost in unknown medical terms. I absolutely loved the mystery in this book. The way the Chase Care team works together to discover the answers and save lives, gives readers and minor characters hope for a better future.

I was pleasantly shocked to find out this was book 6 in the Chase Care Series! I was able to understand the dynamic between many of the couples and the team themselves. Good to know I have more to read by this author and with these fun and determined characters.

Critical Care is Book 6 in the Chase Care series....and I have to say this is my favorite book in the series so far. The intensity, edge of my seat feeling with drama, danger, action, romantic suspense..I really enjoyed this book very much. This story ran high on my emotions...and I am looking forward to what is in store by this author.

Tim Holland is part of the Chase Care team as facility director and also was in the Navy...Tim knows all about putting others first. When he meets Willow, who is a traveling nurse, there are definite sparks between them. When Chase Care suspects tampering with chemotherapy drugs, Tim and Willow will have to find out who is behind this and also with Willow's past coming to be part of the fight to find out why this is happening....definitely makes for an interesting team. Will they be able to solve the mystery whom is behind this tampering.....when Tim is faced with a medical issue....will Willow be able to be there for him when he needs her the most...

Definitely read and find out.....this is a great book and I do not want to give away any spoilers :).

Critical Care (Chase Care Series Book 6) by R.L. Dunn. This is such a fun series and this book was no different. Its finally Tim and Willow's story. Tim is Facility Director for Chase Care in Washington D.C. and he is usually always on top of everything. He has taken ill with a mystery illness and Willow is determined to stick with him throughout. During Tim's treatment its discovered that meds are being tampered with and contaminated. Having met in Maine in a hospital Willow has recently reached out to Tim in D.C. and has moved there. She has a bad past history with a very mean Doctor and she continued to be a travel nurse to not have any ties but since she met Tim she wants to place some roots. When Tim begins to get worse instead of better, his friends and Willow being to really investigate the contamination and find who is behind it. Will they find out in time? This is a great romantic suspense. It can be read as a standalone but I really enjoy reading them in order to get to know all the characters!

I have read a few books from this author and she always keeps me on my toes. This is the sixth book of the amazing Critical Care series. I could be read as a stand alone but there are previous characters in this story as well. I was so excited to get this book so I started it right away. I could not help but to fall for these characters. I didn’t put this book down until the end. I can’t wait to see what she will write about next.

Tim Holland is part of the amazing Chase Care team. He was in the Navy but now he is the faculty director. Tim loves his job so much he never thought about love. He is teamed up with a beautiful traveling nurse on his new assignment. Tim has feelings for Willow that he has never got before. His main goal is to find out who is tampering with chemotherapy drugs and not getting involved with another woman. Will Tim and Willow make a great team or will they be too different to work together?

This is the fifth book in this series which I have enjoyed reading from the first book. I highly suggest reading all the books in this series as they are just as great as this one. This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up. This author’s books are engaging with characters that bring the story to life on every page. I enjoy this author’s writing skills as well as their attention to details that make the characters pop. This is a well written story about Willow and Tim. Both have things in their lives that threaten to turn everything upside down. What happens with these two you don’t want to miss for sure. They are connectable, relatable characters that not only have great growth but chemistry as well throughout the story. This is a fast paced, hard to put down story that I enjoyed reading and just might be my favorite of the series. I highly recommend this book.

This is the first R.L. Dunn book I've read, not offhand realizing that it was book 6 in the Chase Care series. That being said, other than being annoyed with myself for not starting at the beginning, you don't HAVE to start at book 1, so don't be discouraged if this is the topic that pulls you in!
Being in the medical field myself, I really really enjoyed that aspect of the story. There were enough things that I found relatable having worked both in oncology as well as the acute care (hospital) setting that I found the storyline very fun! The romance progressed quickly, which was enjoyable as well, and there were a number of *gasp* moments that had my husband turning to check on what was happening only to see me deep in the story. Definitely a catchy read, I'm eager to catch up on the rest of the Chase Care series!

So I'm picking up this talented author for the first time. This is the sixth book of the Chase Care Series. Even though I started This series on the 6th, I don't feel like I miss a lot from the previous books. It is totally understandable without reading the others . Now This storyline the author has created along with the well developed Characters and intriguing world, id have to say it is just as good if not better than our favorite primetime medical drama lol you know the one i'm talking about. It has danger, spiciness, action, and some heart pounding , breathe stealing suspense. R.L. Dunn really knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat. I highly Recommend reading this !🥰
Now I'm definitely about to go read the first five previous books. Omg and when I'm done ill be moving on the R.L. Dunns Chase Security Series, it has 7 book 😍 lol im gonna be busy for the next 2week 🤣

I have loved this series from the start. Having worked in the healthcare field for over 20 years, this series never fails to suck me in with the drama, suspense, romance, and action that can be found within the story. This story did not disappoint me. Tim and Willow’s story will take you on an emotional ride. These two met on an assignment in Maine and they decide to take a chance on a relationship. We all know how life can go. Toss in working for Chase Care and you have a combination ready to combust. There are a couple little subplots but they all tie back in together. I found myself tearing up, smiling, getting mad and running the whole gamut. These two and the Chase Care/Chase Security gang come together in a time of crisis to support and figure out what’s going on. I absolutely loved the writing. The characters are so wonderfully developed. The best part is that the author pulled in the gang from all the books. We had visits from Hunter, Flynn, Troy, Pete and others. It’s a fantastic story that will have you on the edge-of-your-seat. It can be read as a standalone. I recommend that you read the others, it gives you some knowledge into the other characters.

Tim and Willow have insta attraction but are separated by distance due to the work they do and I love how the fact they want more they compromise.
Things all change when Tim is given a grave diagnosis which is heightened by dangerous concerns his treatment could actual end him so not only does his friends and family need to be there for him, but Willow has to make the decisions is she in for the long haul.
This book contains not only a love story and a dangerous medical mystery but also that it's ok to be vulnerable even if your a guy and to be honest there were a lot of tears through out this book so make sure you have tissues at hand!.

I have enjoyed the books that I have read so far in this series. I normally try to read a series in order, but somehow I have read every other one. Either way, this was another fantastic book by this author. The twists and turns will keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. Tim and Willow discover that someone has been tampering with chemotherapy medication. They put their lives at risk to stop whoever is sabotaging something that could harm millions of people. Will they be able to stop the bad guys? This can be read as a standalone but I can guarantee that you will be going back to read the other stories in this series. Hats off to the author for not only another great book but another great series.

Critical Care is the 6th book in the Chase Care series. It can be read as a standalone, even though characters from previous books make appearances. Tim and Willow are already on their way to becoming a couple, so there are none of the first attraction vibes and I never did feel a burning chemistry between them. Their romance is more low key and takes a backseat when compared to the heartwrenching fight against cancer and corporate greed. Add in power struggles and betrayal within Willow's family and you've got a compelling read.

This was another great read from this series – one that I am really enjoying. I loved Tim and Willow’s story – the author has done a great job with this series and cleverly intertwined all the characters but also allowing the stories to be read independently. The romantic suspense element to the story was great and I was certainly left guessing a few times. Tim and Willow definitely had a great connection and I loved watching their relationship evolve across the book, they definitely had some moments where they were up against things and it was interesting who they called upon for help!
This was definitely an exciting read and one I would highly recommend.

This book is the sixth in the series. Technically, it works as a stand alone book, however it would be more enjoyable within the series. If you’re a fan of Robin Cook, then this book is for you! The author has a similar style in this medical drama. We follow Tim Holland as he falls in love with Willow Colson and through a surprise medical diagnosis. The bad guys here are big pharma which is sadly believable. A downside was there were many characters to follow which would have been better if I read the other books, and there are explicit scenes. I enjoyed the story and finding out all the hidden secrets. Overall, a fun read!

This was the first book I read in this series, but I have since picked up the rest because this was amazing! I’m sure reading the first books would have given me an even better experience, but even without the background, I was completely and utterly absorbed in this story. It starts out with a bang, and I was immediately invested in the characters. Getting to read about Tim and Willow was full of adventure, love, and had me at the edge of my seat throughout the entire book! If you enjoy romantic thrillers full of suspense, this is absolutely the next book for you. I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us next!

Medical drama in Book form! I am here for it! I enjoyed all of the previous books I have read by this author and this one wasn't any different. The main draw to this book for me was the suspense. Our main characters found out someone was tampering with chemo medication and they work together to find the culprit. It is definitely a dangerous route because the bad guy is fine with hurting people but their lives being in danger isn't enough for them to stop trying to take them down. I enjoyed both mcs and their overall story. I am looking forward to reading more by this author!
Happy Reading!

Tim is the facility director with Chase Care in Washington DC. When a medical issue stops him in his tracks, all his friends are the first to jump in and help. Willow Colson, the traveling nurse Tim has recently fallen for, has decided to stick with him through his illness. While Tim is being treated, news of contaminated meds is discovered. When Tim begins getting worse instead of better, the Chase Care group sets out to track down the source, and hopefully the cure for their friend. This is the only book I’ve read in the series, but I really enjoyed the fast-paced mystery/romance.

Tim Holland had a decorated career taking care of others. His transition to working for Chase Care was far from different. While serving a medical assignment, he met the love of his life, Willow Colson was a dedicated traveling nurse. Their lives both led them back to D.C. but their budding romance hit one snag after another. This books was captivating to see how the characters’ lives developed and changed in a short amount of time and also kept you rooting for the main characters that things wouldn’t fall apart.
