I did something I had never done before.

I had a one-night stand.

Then in true me fashion, I left my phone at his house during my desperate venture to escape.

I tried hard to ignore the texts sent to my best friend’s phone....

Amethyst: Sup, these selfies are cute as shit, but your lips looked better wrapped around my...

I did not text him back.

I did vow to never speak of him or that night again....

I’m Amethyst Lily Tatum, and up until this point, I’d managed to maintain a fairly low-key life. I’m what you would call a socially unacceptable hot mess. Instead of partying, I’m skating, flipping ollies over guys who loved to underestimate me. Then I started college, met a wild girl who I would soon call my best-friend, had my first drunk one-night stand, left my phone at his house, and then, when I finally managed to meet my mom’s new boyfriend, I found out that my one-night stand was now my new stepbrother.

This is a stand-alone novel.

“Because I want you. I want all of you. I want to fuck you until you can’t walk or talk, or fucking see straight. I want to ruin you, break you, and make you bleed so I can make it up to you again. I want to fuck you so hard that I leave an imprint of my cock inside of you, so everyone after me knows that you’re mine.”

Flip Trick
This might have been one of my most anticipated releases of this year. When I say that, I mean from the day I saw a teaser on Facebook, till the day I received my arc - I was constantly thinking about Maddox and Amethyst.

I dropped everything to read this and I was certain that it was going to be a winner in every sense of the matter. This book actually made me realize that maybe, starting from next year - I shall only review the books that I loved and want to rave about, because I know how hard authors work on writing, editing and going through the whole publication methodology of releasing a novel. I hate giving low reviews because it feels like I'm throwing bad energy at a book that didn't work for me, but could potentially work for many others.

The last part of this book was so unnecessary and there was so much drama that floated around, I couldn't keep up with all the story arcs. Then, there was the fact that every single member of their family thought it was dandy to just FUCK YOUR STEP-SISTER!??

Maybe, it's also because I'm reading Game of Thrones simultaneously - but I think even that was the least of my triggers with this book. There was a lot of time jumping and adding in information that had no meaning. It all felt a bit overwhelming for me.

That being said, this really wasn't my cup of tea. There were so many no-go zones that it constantly danced on, I felt like DNFing... but I read on.

Let me start with my first issue:

The Characters.
From the start of this book, I disliked Leila.
It started with her being selfish, which then trailed into her practically pressing Amethyst to lose her virginity... why is it so wrong for a girl to be a virgin and not want to have sex with a random stranger?!?
“Your fortress? Well, sorry to say, but I’m going to need your 'fortress' to be trampled in a lot more than once every six months, not to mention after one month of seeing a guy. Loosen up, Ame! Trust me. The best feeling ever.”

I thought she was a really bad influence on Ame and after feeling a bit of euphoria from some chapters, she really dragged me down.
“Ame, it was a one-night stand. Maddox has them probably every weekend with girls who he deems worthy of him.” she rolls her eyes, and I sense something there. Maybe there’s something she isn’t telling me."

Next up, is the range from Amethyst to the men in this book.

1) Since when is it okay to slut-shame? And whore-shame?? Especially in a book where the author controls what comes out of the characters 'mouths'?

2)
The fear of not knowing if she’s going to remember is damn near crippling. What if she doesn’t want me? What if she doesn’t allow me to show her? What would I do then? I’d lock her in my basement and make her, that’s what.

I don't know what to comment about that. I really don't.

3)
“I don’t know. We pushed and pulled for a bit, but I can’t deny that there’s a bond with him. It’s easy, and not complicated. He has a bad reputation on campus, you know, womanizer and because he beats people’s faces in for a living, it only adds to his bullshit appeal.” I suck in a deep breath. “But he’s not any of those people when he’s with me, which is what makes all the difference. You know me, Dad. He’s not my type at all.” Dad quirks an eyebrow. “I know. But maybe this is what you needed. Those nerd boys you messed around with were little fucks.”

4) The only character I liked was Talon. He had an open relationship with a girl, and in the last part of the book this is what we find out:
"Then he tied me to the bed and made me sit and watch while he fucked another girl. I kneeled, gagged, mascara running down my face, ropes tied around my wrist while he fucked this girl senseless all while watching me. I cried, because I loved him, and we hadn’t swung or been with other people in almost a year. This felt like cheating, and it was. He broke my heart when he fucked her savagely..."

It's sad because I really wanted to love the shit out of this book. That cover is gorgeous and this author is kind and caring to her readers. Not to mention, she has another series that is so hyped that I might try reading that instead because that seems amazing too!! O

Flip Trick is not my first book from Amo Jones so going into it I was expecting her usual craziness of angst. That's what I like about her books, how out-there and captivating they can be. But unfortunately with this book I didn't find the craziness to be intriguing and instead it just became frustrating.

The story was all over the place with drama. Every time one drama ended, or sometimes before, there was something else popping up and dragging this couple apart. I think if I put together all of the time Amethyst and Maddox were actually together in this book it probably wouldn't even be half of the story. They were constantly fighting and then spiraling out of control because they fought, then fucking like crazy, back to fighting and on and on and fucking on. And those moments where Amthyst was spiraling out of control kind of had me liking her a lot less than I did in the beginning.

The insanity of everything became too much for me and it ended up making me lose interest in Amethyst and Maddox. By the end of their story I legit did not care what happened to the them. Amo could have killed off a main character and I would have just shrugged and moved on. Which sucks because I was really liking them in the beginning. But there was just so much that came in and shook up their connection that eventually all connection was lost. I just wanted to slap both of them and scream at them to sit down and talk like rational people instead of going off the deep end at every single thing.

Also some of the drama honestly seemed a little too far fetched for me, and that didn't help matters. And then some of it wasn't explained as much as I would have liked. This is just how I personally feel about this story but I can't say it was a badly written book. Just a little too over the top for me.

This book still has that usual Amo Jones flair of dramatics and angst. I think a lot of people will be insanely intrigued by the story and characters, and for that it's one I would recommend if that's the type of story you enjoy. For me this one fell short of what I personally enjoy in the craziness department, but it was still well written and I will definitely be reading this author again.

This book y'all... this book was THE BEST book that Amo Jones has ever written!! The writing was fluid, the characters were well developed, the plot was moving and evocative, and it was beyond entertaining. I read Flip Trick in one sitting because I could not put it down!

Amethyst was my kind of girl. She had an independent streak a mile wide, she was loyal to a fault, she was fun loving and adventurous, and she was human. She was fiercely strong, compassionate and understanding in most situations, but she was also very vulnerable, especially when it came to Maddox.

Maddox was a bit of a mystery. I still don't completely understand the makings of this man, but he was definitely a sexy person to read about ;) He lived life on the edge, an MMA fighter who wound up in the big time, and he had fallen in love with Amethyst. Unfortunately, living his life out loud drew a lot of drama, making his and Amethyst's happy ending hard to attain. But never once, through all of the obstacles, did I ever doubt his feelings for her.

This story does hurt the heart. I cringed way too many times and wanted to blast Amo at almost every turn. How could she do this to me? How dare she treat my characters this way? Quit playing games with my heart! Seriously, if you've ever read anything from Amo before, this book is vastly different from anything you've ever read from her before. If you haven't read one of her books, Flip Trick would be an amazing start. It's dramatic, entertaining, full of heart and full of guts.

First time read for me by this author and let me say, what a ride. A angsty up and down, side to side ride. It was like whiplash, we’d get the highs and then bam we’d get the lows, and it stayed this way till the end.

My heart broke for these characters. Unknowingly they meet at 7 years old but lose touch at a young age. Their instant connection stays with them though.

Amethyst isn’t a partygoer, she’d rather stay in and study or go to the skate park and let loose. She definitely doesn’t do one night stands. So when her roommate/best friend drags her to a party, things change. and man do they change. She meets Maddox Stone, colleges bad boy, MMA champion, and the guy that doesn’t do relationships and has slept with almost all the girls at school. And guess what, Ame has her first one night stand with the bad boy. Yep and goes home the next day to meet her mom’s new man in her life. Oh and her stepbrothers too, one being Maddox Stone =)))) Welcome to drama central, lol

I want to go into so much of this story, touch on certain circumstances that happen, but I don’t want to give anything away. I will say, this poor couple, it was like taking one hit after another. How many hits do you take before you give up? I’m talking, your on cloud nine and seriously the cloud blows up, there’s no time to enjoy. It’s hard, it’s sad, it’s so beyond frustrating, yet I kept reading. Why you ask??? Because I’m a sucker that loves that shit.

But seriously, if you enjoy drama, you enjoy the Chase, and you enjoy angst and the very slow slow slow burn of getting that happily ever after this is one for you.

I'm not even sure where to start with this review. Let me just say that this is the first book I've read by Amo Jones so I have nothing to base her style on. That being said...this book is one hot mess.

Let me explain...Maddox and Amethyst meet at a bar and end up having a one night stand which is totally his thing but not hers. The next day, she's mortified and determined never to see him again only to find out that her mother moved in with his father.

Now that plot would be intriguing enough but the author just doesn't stop. The very instant these two get together...BAM...there's something to tear them apart. And it happens over and over...and over. I've never in my reading experience read a book with so many dramas and different plots. I was shocked that the book is only 367 pages!

description

So let's talk about the characters...

Maddox - sounds like a certain someone from a popular book. Looks like him, acts like him and he's even a MMA fighter...hmmmm. But there's more...think if you were going to roll all your favorite book boyfriend's attributes into one and he's what you got.

Amethyst - college student, artist, actor, skater...bit of a loner. She's never put herself out there before but when she does, she gives it a 110%, so when life throws her a curve ball, it's pretty devastating (and I'm not even exaggerating!).

Let's talk about the angst...

Don’t get me wrong I love angst but this book was just all over the place. The author literally threw everything in including the kitchen sink. I think my jaw dropped at every turn. (However, I especially loved the nod to the Twilight series...one of my favorite angsty moments.)

But here's the problem, there wasn't enough relationship building. Yes, all the dramas made things exciting and the sex was definitely steamy but when everything is over and done, there really wasn't much of a connection. And everything, I mean everything, has been done before.

So overall, my angst side loved the hell out of this book but my romance side was left longing.

4 “ollie” Stars!

The Review:
Three times!
Three times, I wanted to shut my ereader off and walk away. And I did. All. Three. Times! There were moments I hated the direction of this story. Then curiosity would nag and eat away at me until I picked it back up and was consumed once more! Frustrated and aggrieved. Those words describe half my feelings perfectly. Elated, excited and flat out enthralled are words to describe the rest of my feelings. It was dramatic, over the top and I loved it! So, obviously, the latter of the feels overruled the first, because I kept going and I’m so glad I did.

Two words. Maddox Stone! Wowza. Talk about hot and a hot mess. Maddox and Amethyst were just that. A hot mess. And I’m not going to lie. I straight up almost lost my mind on this one. I loved it, don’t get me wrong, but there were so many twists and turns and so much push and pull that I wondered, many times, how they were going to ever get it together.

One ending. The perfect ending. After all the push and pull, all the back and forth, all the drama and twists, the ending was perfect. Once I hit that last page, I saw how it all came together and how it flowed the way it was supposed to flow. Their journey was rough, filled with pitfalls and heartbreak and so much conflict it should have never worked out for them, but that ending made it all worth it.

A Little About the Story/Characters...
Amethyst Tatum was seven the first time she met Maddox Stone. For a short while, donuts and conversation brought them together but years would pass before they saw each other again. All grown up and in college, Ame breaks bad and has a one night stand ... with a guy from her past that’s about to rock her world and set it on fire.

Maddox and Ame...
Maddox - moody, intense and just this side of hero status. Oh and suuuuper sexy!
Amethyst - tough, kind, I-dont-care-attitude that made her fascinating.
I loved both of them.

They were both toxic and wonderful together. Their relationship was full of conflict and drama. And there were a few times Maddox could have gotten stampeded by a herd of elephants and I would have laughed because that boy pissed me off! Their chemistry was off the charts hot though! You also couldn’t help but feel for them. There was so much back and forth between them that it felt like the universe was literally conspiring against them. Every time they seemed to get their lives aligned, something would intervene. I wasn’t kidding when I said I walked away several times to get my bearings. This read was amazing and outrageous all at the same time.

The side characters were definitely fun to read and a real treat to get to know. They didn't feel like side characters at all, but more like an intricate part of the story and played pivotal roles in Maddox and Ame’s lives. They were basically the glue that held these two together when it would all fall apart.

The story itself? Wow! It would head in one direction and then quickly turn around and go in another. And it was filled with so many things that I felt like I lived a lifetime inside the pages. I loved that and it wasn’t hard to keep up, BUT I kept questioning certain actions because there were a couple of plot points introduced, a few points of foreshadowing and a few scenes laid out that didn’t seem to go anywhere or have any direction or have any impact on the main story. That was really the only flaw I saw in this read. It happened a few different times.

Also, there were a few places that were a little wordy, hammering points home that didn’t need it. And some of the inner monologuing was overdone. It slowed down in a few places but it picked back up quickly. Overall, great writing.

Cudos...
The climax came out of nowhere and I know some might have a problem with it, but I LOVED it! I was surprised and on the edge of my seat while it played out. So much fun!

The Wrap Up:
This was my first read by this author. But it WILL NOT be my last!!
There was drama. I loved it.
There was angsts. My heart soaked it up!
There was sexy-times! My tummy was all aflutter.
There was heart and soul. A solid story I couldn’t get enough of.
So what does it all boil down to? The. Whole. Kitchen. Sink!

Flip Trick was a hard read that kept me glued to the pages. Intense and outrageous characters that stole my heart. Overwhelming story that was filled with drama and more drama and those wonderful angsts I love so much.

Stories that invoke those kinds of feelings is a story worth reading. Shedding some "feels" while nearly having fits is what good reads are all about. I have room on my list for the easy reads and I also have room on my list for hard reads that get my heart pumping and blood boiling. This book is in that list. I loved it and I’m already looking forward to a reread.

1/5.

this was genuinely horrible. it has wattpad written all over it. the characters were god awful. let me start off with our main character, amethyst.

amethyst is Not LiKe OtHeR gIrLs. she absolutely detests wearing make up and she loves to skate board 😞. wow so quirky and unique i know. she’s so fucking annoying and it’s aggravating how the author said she never ever ever wore makeup but was “scarily beautiful” with model like cheekbones and bright blue eyes and perfect naturally red plump lips. you cant forget about the natural blush either. her face is always perfectly flushed so she never sees the need for blush 🤪🤪 and she says/thinks really out of pocket shit.

exhibit A: “𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲. 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗳𝘂𝗹. 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗯𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱. 𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁. 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗳 𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱.” firstly, shut the fuck up. sorry someones eating disorder makes you “uncomfortable” you rat faced hag. secondly, you’re speaking about your very best friend… why are you saying shit like this about her…

now, i’m not one to hate on women, but this girl is on a different level of aggravating. i don’t even feel like discussing any of the other character because none of them have a substantial amount of redeeming qualities <33

ARC
What a ride, people! WHAT A FREAKING AMAZING RIDE!!

I have been a fan of Amo Jones for a while now. Having read her Elite King's Club, this book sounded so different yet so intriguing.

Amethyst and Maddox did not disappoint.
I could not stop reading this book! I couldn't put it down! I read it with pulse racing excitement!

I mean, Oh My Lord, Do I need a Maddox in my life... phew!
As a reader, Maddox has a wildness and mystery to him that leaves you wanting more and more.
Amethyst is a strong, confident girl with one BIG weakness, you guessed it, Maddox!
Maddox and Amethyst have a connection that people dream about. It's magnetic but filled with missed opportunities.

Flip Trick is wild, brutal and one heck of a ride!
PS: Flip Trick will definitely leave you so satisfied yet a tad confused. I admit that somewhere- sometimes, it can feel like you might need a little extra attention to pass through the somewhat 'draggy' parts but once you finish the book, you realise that those parts make the end worthwhile.

*** 4.5 Stars***

I need a drink or maybe a full on spa day with a deep tissue massage and then a drink or ten because that was intense. Maddox and Amethyst’s journey is as chaotic, and exhausting, as a Cat 5 hurricane and yet, just like those storms, it was just as absolutely fascinating. The angsty drama is relentless as is the chemistry between Maddox and Amethyst and when combined it made for an addicting read.

Maddox and Amethyst I loved. I did. But...Maddox is all kinds of Alpha AF male. Charismatic, cocky, arrogant and can be a huge asshat, but there is also a hesitant sweetness and strong core of honor that makes him utterly lethal. Amethyst is independent, determined, hard working and responsible. She’s also, when given the chance (i.e. when she let’s go) sassy and snarky. Her sense of self, of making her own path, was something that I admired about her along with her heart.

Amethyst and Maddox’s journey is one that definitely falls under the “Epic” label. The connection they had from the first time they collided, and throughout the book, was a tangible one that jumped off the page...but dear lord, they did not make anything easy. Whether it was because of outside influences, or their own choices, they made each other bleed. The angst is high. The drama is high. But..and this is a huge BUT, the pull between them never faded and showed that regardless of everything going on, in the end, they were the only one who could give each other what they needed.

You know, there was a time where I was all about low angsty stories, but over time I’ve come to appreciate and even enjoy the higher end of the angst spectrum more and more, but boy howdie...this one...this one kind of did me in. The landmines are many as were the twists and turns that popped up throughout the story. BUT what kept me from truly tossing the Kindle into the freezer were the characters and the family feel they brought to the story. My favs were Talon, Wolf and Leila, but in the end, I really liked the mass majority of them. So, if you love angsty goodness that teeters on the edge of being OTT and well written characters, then this is definitely a MUST read.

“Who needs normal, anyway. Normal never makes history.”

WOW ! What I just read?

This book was amazing !

I wasn't able to put it down , not for a second!

I'm on a rollercoaster of emotion that's not gonna stop anytime soon

Like every Amo jones's books It left a permanent mark on me.

This story was filled with passion , feelings and some angst (that made everything more hotter)

“Maddox, the possessive overprotector. The guy who'd stand over anything that belonged to him with his teeth bared.”

Amethyst and Maddox's story was filled with obstacles , that challenged them in any possible way.

I almost believed there was no chance for an happy ending for them .

It was almost too painful to assist at the evolution of their relationship .

The chemistry between them was everything .

the spark never went away , since that night in the club they started something behind their power .

Fate is something no one can win against , you can fight it , but that's it.

“People have always said how if you put Maddox and I into the same room together, the universe feels as though it stops. We had that undeniable pull toward each other. When we were together, it was our world, everyone else merely existed in it.”

It was sexy , crazy and explosive at the same time.

I just loved it , to really understand what I'm talking about you just need to check it out for yourself.

I think you'll be hooked since the first chapter like I did!

I gave it absolutely 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I hope you'll enjoy it like I did!✨

Amo Jones is one of my absolute favorite dark romance authors. The depths of her depravity just speak to my soul. So when I saw she was doing a contemporary romance, I was super intrigued.
Flip Trick sucked me right in from the getgo. I couldn’t put it down. I fell in love with Amethyst and her snarky, spunky attitude. Maddox is sexy af and so much deeper than what he seems. Those two can’t quite get their shit together though and about halfway through, the angst started to slowly destroy me. It felt like my heart was breaking in my chest! Just when all starts to seem right with the world, craziness starts flying out of thin air! The drama is definitely at an all time high. I felt like there was just way too much going on outside of the original storyline. I just wanted Maddox and Ame to get the time they needed together. I LOVE them as a couple. Their soul-deep connection is so special. I would have liked to see more time with them together.
One of the things I loved about this book is the underlying theme of family. It’s like all these puzzle pieces spread out and mixed up, and seeing them slowly slide into their correct places was just so awesome. It felt like I was connected to the story on a deeper level. I actually would have liked to have more of the side characters and less of the other drama, but still... I enjoyed the Stone brothers very much. I would have LOVED to get some of their POVs!
Overall I definitely enjoyed Flip Trick and would recommend this book, especially for lovers of super angsty reads filled with drama, suspense, and secrets.

I haven't read any of Amo Jones's work in a while, but I am a sucker for step brother romances and this cover is to DIE FOR! Unfortunately something was missing for me. I felt little to no connection to Amethyst and Maddox. The side characters who were all supposed to be close to them felt forced and I didn't see the things that I was told was there.

All of Flip Trick felt like I was being told the story of Maddox and Ame, I did not live and breathe this story. I couldn't tell you why the characters were in love with each other, but they *had* a feral kind of love, and by feral they mean borderline abusive sex. Also, they would kill for each other, because what spells love more than willing to kill for someone?

The plot of Flip Trick had such great potential, I love the idea and premise. Were there things thrown in just for shock factor that in reality had a much, much easier solution? Hell yes. Did I think if Maddox as sexy or appealing? Not in the least, outside of that tongue ring, I found him to be a total alpha hole and not in a good way.

No one in this book did it for me. From the sex to the characters, it was a wash. It was one of those cases where you think if I read just a little bit more then I maybe I will get into and then the next thing you know you are 70% into a book and it finally picks up and you need to know what happens.

Flip Trick didn't do the the trick for me, but if you are looking for a twisted novel with and alpha hole then it is probably the perfect read for you.

Another fantastic 5 star

Can I just say I love this cover to start with and I have loved the teasers as well?
I could not wait to get my hands on this book, and it was so worth the wait.

I started it and could not put it down it was that good. The storyline the twists this book will have you turning the pages to find out what is going happen next. The book is very well written
You will love and hate characters but you will fall for Maddox at first I was not too sure on him but by the end, I really liked him.

Amethyst I have a girl crush on I adore her everything you expect in a female Character I really liked the banter between her and Maddox. Their chemistry is off the charts
All in all another fantastic book by this author

This was so bad wow. Apparently because this girls name is Amethyst and she dyes her hair pink she is UnIQuE and dIFfeReNT. She has a one-night stand with a guy who turns out to be her stepbrother, and because he has the emotional maturity of a five-year-old, he announces that he fucked her the night before to her entire family. And she excuses this and feels bad for him bc apparently he has mommy issues and is acting out 🤮🤮 I couldn't keep reading this. Amethyst was the "cool girl" trope to a T and Maddox and her had way too much insta-love going on. Hard Pass.

This is the first book I've read from Amo, and I will definitely be reading more!

I love an asshole book boyfriend. It's actually my weakness. This guy? He took the cake. I love him even though he pissed me off so many times, I cannot even. Flip Trick had me feeling so many things. Lust, anger, horniness, shock, love, happiness, rage...

WARNING, you're going to need a protective case for your e-reader, I threw mine several times. 🤣

What the hell did i just read! This book was just one big shit show. This book had to much cheating & unnecessary drama. I disliked most of the characters & the only one i had a soft spot for was Talon but in the end he bloody let me down too, by fucking some girl, all the while his girlfriend is tied up & watching.

Over the top. Choose a conflict. Build on that conflict. Then resolve the conflict. This story just kept adding really crazy obstacles. Each one nuttier than the first. I think professional editors have an important role. Because the writing was good. But the story was all over the place.

I was already half way in love with Maddox Stone before I’d even started, just from the tag line on the cover. I’m a sucker for a bad boy and fighter so I knew I was going to love this book. By the end of chapter two, I was head over heels in love with Maddox. Maddox Stone is everything that I love in a man. He’s cocky, confusing, a bit (a lot) of an asshole and oh so very, very hot. I spent way too much time swooning over Maddox than is socially acceptable. And it wasn’t just Maddox that had me swooning. Amethyst is my new girlie crush. I found her really easy to like. She’s the perfect balance between tomboy and girly girl. She’s not like most girls and I loved that she never wanted to be like everyone else.

I’m a massive fan of this author. She’s one of my automatic one clicks and I always devour her books in one sitting. Flip Trick has a slightly lighter feel than most of her other books but in true Amo Jones style, there’s some twists thrown in to keep you on your toes. The chemistry between Emma and Maddox is hot, their story has the perfect amount of angst and the characters (both main and other family members) are really easy to like. Another fantastic book from Amo Jones.

Amo Jones Flip Trick

Amethyst "Ame" Lily Tatum and Maddox Stone have an... interesting relationship from the get-go. It's messy. It's complicated. And yet, I really liked it.

I like that this is over the course of several years. I also like that it's realistic with breakups, breakdowns, bad decisions, and multiple relationships. There's some drug and alcohol abuse, too. That part I'm not as keen on, but it doesn't overshadow the rest of the story.

There are dark elements to this, but the bulk are offscreen and either hinted at or discussed with very high level descriptions, light on the details. There's a whole lotta cray-cray all the same. I mean the crazy gots crazier as I got deeper into the book with some interesting twists that I wasn't expecting.

I received an author's copy of the audio book. The narrators are Victoria Connelly and Logan Anare. Like Amo Jones, both are new to me. In all three cases, I enjoyed the ride and will be back for more.

For the past few years I have heard amazing things about this author's writing style, so I figured why not FINALLY check one of her stories out! The moment I saw the cover for her next release I knew that I had found the perfect book to pop my Amo Jones cherry!

Flip Trick wasn't anything like I originally anticipated...it was so much better! This story took me on a rollercoaster of emotions with so many unexpected twists and turns thrown in. One second I thought that I had it all figured out and then the next I realized nope not even close. I found myself completely enthralled from beginning to end because it was nearly impossible to put it down, which is probably why I ended up finishing it in one sitting...

I am just going to throw this out here and say that I have got a major lady boner for our leading lady Amethyst. She is fierce, sassy, and full of spunk, which makes her super irroestiable to readers because she is so relatable! Now with Maddox it took me a moment to really connect with him, but when I did it was like an instant smack in the face. Suddenly I was captivated by him whole body, heart and soul and I couldn't get him out of my head! I fell for him headfirst and I knew that him and Ame were meant to be!

After reading Flip Trick I know that I am in serious need of more books from Amo Jones very soon, especially if they are as phenomenal as this story was! Readers make sure to one-click this book on release day because you don't want to miss out on this one of a kind story!
