SAGE The ultimate betrayal on his face when he sees that plug in my hand shatters my cybernetic heart. Helpless, my world turns to chaos, and I spiral downward, crushed by my very own actions.
SCOUT Trying to be the hero, I lost it all without even knowing it. The world went on without me. However, our love proved to be stronger, and apparently the gods were not done with me yet. With me gone, an unlikely partnership forms risking it all to bring me back, but will it be me, or something else that emerges.
This book,... as all others in this series... has extreme triggers and is intended for a mature audience only! DaR XuL SoL RaZ A celebration of the House of Dar Tordan Hugo AvX SAGE ViN
I have a boy job by day... and the world of imagination at night... I believe dragons, unicorns and vampires are real... because what fun would this world be if they were not !!!
I like Sci-fi tales because anything goes, and it's not weird. The world that Jennifer has created is full of modern technology, along with AIs that are more than they seem.
The story is told in multiple POV, which makes the story more immersive. There is action, a variety of aliens; some are truly evil, and others are just big, deadly teddy bears.
SCOUT is the eleventh book in the Daverius, House of DAR series, and tells the story of SCOUT.
What a great and original read! It is heartbreaking, sad, loving, and heart-warming, with some fun moments.
I don't care if this is about computers and mainframes, this IS a love story. And a darned good one at that. Did the story pull me in from the beginning? Yes! Did it pour on the drama and suspense? Yes! Were there heavy emotions, maybe even a few tears from me involved? Maybe. Hey, don't judge me, it was an awesome story and well worth adding to my library and YES, I do recommend it.
It's always darkest before the storm, or it's better to have loved n lost than never have loved at all, or this too shall pass, all colloquial Earth sayings to sooth my broken heart (or programming) as the AI known as Scout is damaged from an attack by Sin. Sin is an estranged son of Dar whose been harassing him for being slighted. He doesn't understand Dar knew nothing about him, the uncanny part, he looks exactly like Dar. I'm Sage, by the way, the AI that takes care of Dar n his family, including the humans rescued n loved by him n his sons. Several other AI programs monitor n protect the territory, possessions, n citizens under Dar's command but I'm truly concerned about Scout. I never really realized the extent of his complex programming n the amount of chores he controlled on a daily basis until his system begins to crash, one by one, after the attack. Everything goes crazy , even my system n the rest of the AI's r affected along with the protective barrier surrounding Darvieus. I just hope we can figure out a way to repair n restore Scout to his former programming without losing any enhancements he reprogrammed to suit all our needs. So that the saying, this too shall pass, becomes a bygone memory we can forget but make sure a scenario like this never happens again.
I really like the stories. At first I was shocked by some of the alien horror, but totally understood why. It was an express ticket for the, "we're not in kansas anymore", ship. It gave us a chance to see other components of the world she created. I.e. healing, timelines, life forces, etc. Pretty clever actually. Shock to the system to get over the hum drum stories. I can't wait for more. She handled the multitude of growing characters really well.
The loss of SCOUT in the aftermath of SiN’s weapon in ViN’s book brings chaos; the members of the House of Dar didn’t realize just how important he is to their way of life. SAGE’s grief over losing him was heartbreaking, not just in how it affected her abilities as an AI, but in her feelings of hopelessness that led her into a depression. It was genuinely touching to see the SCOUT’s friends—both cyber and organic—come together to get their SCOUT back.
Wow I was thinking cyber mates were going to be totally computer like but scout and sage bring the heat and not in just their processors! Andi you saved the day and falcir kept everyone moving like a well oiled machine! Can’t wait to see what happens to that stinky Sin though uhh he makes me crazy.
I really can't relate to AI relationships. I truly enjoy the human/alien stories that have been told. I think this one was taking it a bit too far. Otherwise I appreciate and enjoyed the other tales told. This seems like filler.
This book has a lot of drama, action, excitement, destruction, love and amazing AI? All the other AIs try to bring, Scout, back online. A wonderful book to read and a must buy.
Short, sweet and unexpected. Lots I did not understand because this is the only book in the series I've read so far but it held up in its own. I could not fully get into it so .....
I wondered if that hit was going to knock SCOUT out and of course it did far worse damage; he was shut down. The grief Sage ensures was poignant because they were finally together as a couple. I really enjoyed the solution!
What a neat way to incorporate AI into a series. They are so relatable and the story was very entertaining. I felt for SAGE. Andi is funny, and Falcon reminds me of an old soldier.
I love this series so much. This book was so heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. I loved this book and can’t wait for the next one. Great writer
I simply love all the A. I S. I hope they all get there happy and they all become real but still be over to do what they do can't wait to jump into the next book
I am so addicted to this series…or many I should say obsessed. This one broke my heart, I bawled like a baby. AI’s shouldn’t be able to tear at your heartstrings, but here we are. All the heartbreak for two sweet souls. I am just devastated, SAGE’s pain is definitely my own. All the feels and emotions in this one for sure, because these two have my whole heart….Every. Single. Bit. Of. It.
Safe read, with the sweet souls that will pull at your heartstrings. We got to see our AI favorites from the series, and some of our human and organic favorites too. All of ANDI’s nicknames for SAGE, little space particle, little Cyber Dove, sweet SAGE, flickering ray of holographic sunshine, little celestial ray of light, all just too cute, and fun. I love that he lifts her spirits in an otherwise dark time which she so desperately needed. So I guess he was really her ray of sunshine in this book. A sweet hea, that warms your heart, because their world is as it should be. All’s well that ends well. Onto the next book in the highly addicting book crack series.
