An End to Upside Down Medicine: Contagion, Viruses, and Vaccines--and Why Consciousness Is Needed for a New Paradigm of Health

Rate this book
In An End to Upside Down Medicine, Mark Gober dives into fundamental beliefs about health and disease. These beliefs are so fundamental, in fact, that most of us probably haven’t thought to question them. For example, do bacteria cause disease, or are they part of the body's cleanup crew that appears at the scene of an underlying toxicity or injury? Do researchers follow the scientific method when they claim to isolate viruses and show that they cause disease in their hosts? How are studies conducted that allegedly demonstrate the transmission of germs from sick people to healthy people? How do long-term health outcomes differ between vaccinated and unvaccinated populations? In addition to exploring these essential questions, Gober goes a layer deeper by examining the nature of consciousness. He argues that we can’t fully understand health and disease without first understanding who and what we are—and he contends that modern medicine totally misses the mark. The unfortunate reality is that we live in a chronically sick society. And, as COVID-19 has demonstrated, illness can be weaponized to control the population and take away rights. If we want to be free, both individually and collectively, we need to get medicine right. This book couldn’t have come at a more important time.

Excellent book that points out the gaps and assumptions in orthodox conventional medicine and how we got to where we are today with the health care establishment. A must read for all who have the courage and open mindedness to examine medical assumptions, methods, and beliefs, in order to understand the root causes of diseases holistically linking mind, body, and spirit.

I usually enjoy contrarian viewpoints. Even if they are wrong, I still learn something new or learn to see what I already know from a new angle, a fresh perspective.
Having seen that this author has written several books with similar titles, made me think I may have found a new source for such viewpoints. The introduction of this book even gave me hope that I had in my hands a book that is well thought out and would contain valuable insights. I was utterly wrong. This book is a mishmash of unconnected [or tenuously connected] ideas and logically flawed arguments. It has absolutely no redeeming values.

While thinking about this review, I even prepared some arguments against specific points brought up in the book (e.g. the comet theory of the black death), but then decided that it does not deserve a detailed logical engagement. I will not read any other books, essays, articles, or whatever else this author may have written.

Brillant book! Neccesary reading for all who wish to understand that our bodies don't make mistakes.

Lorenc gave a one star review and focused on speculation on other possible explanations to widespread dis-ease stories, which indicate s/he missed the whole point.

Read the book, if you're open minded it will change your life. Also read Can you catch a cold by Daniel Roytas

Would be better if the logic used to disprove standard belief in the first half wasn't the same logic that could be used to disprove all the points he makes in the second. some good food for thought though.
