The rolling blackouts were coming all too frequently.
With darkness, the attempts to penetrate the gates increased.
Their food and water supplies were dwindling.
Some elected to leave the walls that protected them.

America’s government was on the verge of collapse and her geopolitical foes smelled blood. While the country was destroyed from within, China deals a final blow. It was time to bring the United States to its knees.

OMG!
Akart has left me hanging off the edge of my seat...again. He has always made his characters real, the drama exciting, and the locations factual. Breathtaking cliff hanger on this one, be prepared.
I haven't read a boring novel of his yet. And I started with his first. Like a lot of reviews say; ripped from today's headlines or sometimes tomorrow's.

Once again Akart has delivered an edge of your seat read. Another blackout has happened and this one will not be short, people are panicking and the criminals are taking advantage. Meanwhile back at the gated community sides have been chosen and sooner or later there is going to be a real conflict. There is lots of action in this book and another cliffhanger that leaves you wanting the next book NOW!

The 3rd exciting installment of this series. It mostly follows Dean on his 30 mile trk home, if he makes it home. Released 2 hrs early, so he has no ride home, in his orange prison garb, he is easy picking for any policeman that spots him. His discharge papers are worthless. With the extended blackout, looting and violence is rampant. Meanwhile, back home, things are intensifying too. Great ending!

O.M.G. I'm literally on the edge of my seat!
I didn't realise that I was holding my breath. The question that I silently kept repeating to myself was, "What next?".
Akart's characters and their actions become so real that I'm right there experiencing everything that's happening.

Survival Thriller
While Toby falsely accuses Dean of murder and gets him arrested, Lee tries to intervene. When no evidence is obtained to charge him he is released at the worst possible time and place. Great read!
Well-developed, believable and sympathetic characters. A great plot that was full of suspense. So close to reality it made me shiver. Truly, anyone with a brain can see how close we are to societal collapse. Highly recommended. Meanwhile, I need to finish construction on the command bunker...

Good survival thriller
Good survival story with plenty of action and believability. Dean's trek across LA and his encounters show what could actually happen when the grid goes down and the will to survive. The story is a good description of TEOTWAWKI, the end of the world as we know it.

Good Series - Too Realistic - Happened Faster Than We’d Thought
No kidding. It doesn’t take much to strip away the veneer of civilization. And it can happen faster than one might imagine.
While the predictable bad guys predictably do predictable things, the main characters are really well-developed.
Going to grab number 4 now.

good story
The story is good but it seems to take half the book to get past a lot of unnecessary stuff. I will continue to book four but have to think pretty hard before starting another series. This tale could have been two or three books instead of taking four.

I think Bobby Akart reflected very well on what is happening to society today. I remember back in the 60s we had the Columbus Day storm. Power was out for weeks. There was no rioting. People came together and helped each other. Everyone remained calm. Sadly, those days are gone.

I am an avid fan of Bobby Akart and try to catch every new entry. This is one of the most unsettling that I have read. People with hidden and evil agendas will bring us down. Are our enemies far away, or are they close?

Best one yet!
Had me up late at night to finish. Scary, and unfortunately prophetic. I can see this happening. America is on the cusp of anarchy. Like Mr. Akart said, we are witnessing the death throes of America.

Outstanding book!
Love the characters, I couldn't put this book down!! I have read a lot of this authors books, all are so excellent, you get caught up in the story right away, never disappoints!!

Read this in one day!
Could not put this book down. Bobby Akarts has written another thrilling series.
The Apocalypse may happen in various ways, but I never really considered the collapse of America. I'm stunned.

Picking Up
The third installment has really picked up the pace. Gone are some of the dumb moves by the cast of characters. Before starting I wasn’t sure I wanted to continue the story, but now glad I did. Look forward to the next one.

Mr. Akart has a nice way to keep the reader absorbed in his stories. Well researched with ideas taken out of today's news channels. Can't wait to read 4 to see where we sill taken on our ride.

I read it within one day. Dean is released from prison but due to blackout, they cannot release him with clothing so he heads home in an orange prison jumpsuit with 30 miles to traverse to reach his home. Will be make it home?
